Needs changing.
The last thing I need, as a commander, is a skill that tells my followers to run away.

Retaliation is for dealing with lots of little hits.
Aegis is for defending against big hits.
Learning how to use the two correctly, learning when to dodge/blind to preserve our aegis, learning when to activate our virtue to give us an on-demand aegis and learning how to correctly time applying retaliation to ourselves, are some of the things that turn us from bad Guardians , into good Guardians.
Its fine as is.

This trait is what makes Guardians good in WvWvW.
The people who use it, combined with maximised ally boon applying builds, will run around all day as the front man for a large group and be practically unkillable, while getting stuck in to melee and making their bro’s all very, very powerfull.
The people who don’t use it come on here and whine about Guardians being bad at WvWvW because they don’t have ranged weapons (ie – the bad guardians)
Its good. Use it.

Depends also on your intended role.
If you are a ‘pusher’ who dictates battle lines in WvW then you want to be drawing as much attention as possible, so a Charr or a Norn of maximum size is a must.
Anything else and you want to be as tiny as possible to draw as little attention as possible – minimum sized Asura.

Yes. It was an excellent fight. Having everyone rally to push back the breach of the northern inner gate so many times was awsome.
Thanks to everyone who listened and followed me out on supply runs. So many randoms followed when I said I was running logistics.
Much <3 from Commander Cattlebruiser.

Well, at least when your two servers work together things get challenging.
Do it more often please. I was getting bored.

From experiance, it seems to require you do a certain percentage of the damage. How much, I don’t know. Just tagging isn’t enough.
If you are rocking a staff, then spamming the autoattack into a furball in between support skills seems to be enough to net bags. Don’t forget to finish off the wounded when the fight is over for more bags

You need to damage an enemy to get loot bags from them. No loot bags = no badges.
Remember that classes in GW2 are not intended to be played in a pure, focused role. You shouldn’t be playing a pure support role. You should have some damage output and some self defense if you want to do well.

Traiting into them for the addition of regeneration and protection, then combining them with Renewed Focus makes them rather incredible for group fights. Especially as they seem to have no upper limit on how many people are helped by them.
If you have also self-healing on buff application to allies traited, you become a proper little monster when pushing for a WvW group. Combined with shouts and a staff I have healed myself up from almost nothing to full, a couple of times over, in the space of a few seconds.
I feel the active versions of these shine in WvW but are rather lackluster in sPvP unless you trait heavily into them. Which is fine. There are some things that are great in sPvP but terrible in WvW.

No. You didn’t think this through.
Within a week everyone in WvW would be using Guardians. There is no point using any other class if one can just ignore walls.
Even the strongest keep would fall in minutes to a small team of level 20 guardians.

Region locking does not prevent people with a different sleep schedule playing, as they are from the correct region.
Region locking does have its issues, but that is not one of them. Please only use valid counter arguments.

I can’t say I’m impressed with anyone from Augury Rock or Gunnar’s Hold so far.
We head off on our own as a guild group of 5 to 10 people and charge into groups of 30+, only to roll out the other side without any losses. We couldn’t do that against the better servers we get ranked up against(Visunah/Far shiver). By comparison to the top servers, the guilds we have been fighting this week are a joke.
You can blame numbers if you like, but even when you have the numerical advantage you still crumple like cheap tissue paper. We are not impressed. Not impressed in the slightest.
I hope we get ranked up against Visunah Square again next week. They kick ourkitten and actually challenge us to improve. This week has just felt like a practise fight.
Yawn.
