Not really digging the look, they just seem over done and excessive. Adding animation to armor is cool and can really enhance the look, the ghostly outfit for example. I know it’s an outfit not an armor, but you get my drift. A number of my characters sport basic armor pieces; my main for example has been rocking the swindler chest piece since I acquired it shortly after launch. It’s the only trench coat worthwhile in my book. Finally, I will agree: no more trench coats and buttcapes.

To top it all off the heavy armor reminds of…

Excellent, thank you! It took some time, but that there is a really cool outfit I have to purchase.

I’d like to see them stack too.

I want Tengu as the next playable race!

I’m all in for Tengu.

Largos are just another humanoid figure, and I agree the wings would certainly interfere with the various back pieces. On top of that, one needs to account for their breathing masks.

In a similar thread awhile back I read how to bring in the Margonites as a playable character. I love the idea and would welcome it over any other humanoid option.

What's up with the sound in GW2 since HoT?

I’m going to agree that something has been “off” with the sound since HoT, in general it seems less full, like I’m listening to a cassette tape of the soundtrack. There is a difference in quality when listening to the theme during character select vs. the one on SoundCloud. The spot where it was most noticeable for me is during the Claw of Jormag. He is considerably more quiet than before, no sound as he flies around, and he whispers more than roars no matter where I stand. Big shame for he sounds awesome.

Lion's Arch - STOP NOW!!!

Very happy to see the rebuilding of Lion’s Arch. Would like to see events take place where players could assist. Even if it was simply a vendor accepting materials, maybe say Dragonite ore in return for some “Gifts of Lion’s Arch”. Or simply reintroduce a system similar to what was run during the Lost Shores. But who knows, maybe there will be something before it’s fully rebuilt. Regardless, a new Lion’s Arch is under construction. Hurray!!

HoT Announced > Core Game Abandoned ?

While I certainly agree that work on the expansion has created next to nothing in regards to content. I think another reason for a stagnant world is that HoT is meant to pick up directly after the end of LW season 2. We can’t have certain events moving the world forward, like Lion’s Arch being rebuilt, if the expansion is intended to pick up right after the last episode. If I recall correctly, even when a Living World season went on break the world froze. These story breaks have been one of my biggest issues with the story telling in the game.

Granted we had the New Year event, but it contained no real story/world advancement. And I see no reason NOT to reopen SAB. That’s just an activity. Anyways, that’s my take.

[Suggestion] Charr with GW1 posture

I much prefer them hunched over. Helps make them look unique and stand out against all the standard posture. Tired of seeing the beast races forced into upright postures. Still, I don’t see anything wrong with adding the option to have the Charr stand upright.

Thanks for the April fool’s joke, looking forward to next year’s.

What about GW2 attracts you?

Being a fan of the original Guild Wars was the initial draw. And seeing elements from it brought into GW2 just made it easier to follow the game’s early development.

But when I began seeing more concept art, and the games UI it was the art which pulled my attention and still has not let go. It is exquisite!

What keeps me playing are the updates, regardless of overall quality and/or flow, it is refreshing and welcome to have content rolling in so often. And without an additional price tag (Yes I’m aware about missed LS2 episodes). Lastly I’m going to say the combat and customization of your character. Combat is fast, frantic(WvW) and sometimes intense(Tequatl, when you don’t quite have a team up to par). But most of it is fun.

Thanks Anet for creating this world to play in.

Priory Historians & LW Season 1

I agree with you completely on making sure current episodes are stronger, than add in old bits.

Not that it wouldn’t take time, but that is why I was looking at existing systems in the game to bring back some Season 1 events. Might have eased the burden, but I doubt it.

Oh well, Season 1 had some great moments, I’d love to have a chance to replay them. We’ll see.

Priory Historians & LW Season 1

On and off through LW Season 2 I’ve been thinking of ways to bring back some of Season 1’s stories/events, yet have it work within both the lore and restrictions of the game.

What if the Durmand Priory created a new rank which specializes in exploring history using information learned from Dessa and the Fractals. Located at key locations the Priory Historians built portals to access and interact with history.

For example, at the encampment at the False River Waypoint there would be a portal hosted by these new Historians to access the Twisted Marionette event. Here players could enter an instance of False River Valley to battle the Marionette. Like the portal for Toypacalypse. Make sure parties and guilds work or this whole concept goes to trash. Have invisible walls like story instances to keep players within the given location. To ease to possibility of leechers add in a timer for inactive players to be booted, and a forced respawn timer. During the whole event as players are booted or leave new players are able to fill in.

To give players freedom to do other past events like the Tower of Nightmares and/or the Battle for Lion’s Arch, and prevent overlap, the portals could run on timers akin the World Bosses. Keeping the timers in sequence of the historical timeline would be a nice touch. Ex. Defend Lion’s Arch from Karka, Ancient Karka, Molten Facility, Sky Pirates, Clockwork Chaos, etc…

For the smaller story elements like Cragstead, Nolan Hatchery and Dragon Bash perhaps a lone Historian would be suffice to send the player/party into the instance. Maybe put these smaller bits on a timer of one instance per day per account, if loot/rewards are an issue.

Hopefully this will also allow older achievements to once again be unlocked, or add in a whole new set.

As an added bonus this could assist in adding raid-like events for guilds, and bringing back both the Motel Facility & Sky Pirates dungeons without going into Fractals.

That’s it in a nutshell. Thoughts?

Does anyone actually want a Season 3?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Nidarrock.5692

Nidarrock.5692

Yup. I would definitely like a Season 3, or an expansion. Heck, if Season 3 offered more content per episode, I’d pay for each one. But that is a debate for another day. Despite a some gripes with the LW model I like having a stream of story being brought our way.

Please, in Season 3, can I hear my character speak again… and not how I can outrun a centaur. As I play through the personal story on other characters I’ve noticed how much I miss the old talking sections.
