Here are two screenshots of my Sylvari (there are a little bit old, but I like them a lot)

Here is the coat, completely dyed in black. I don’t have abyss, but maybe someone else has.

Yes, it’s definitly influenced by taste. I have the th3 light male headgear (the eyebrow thing) and I love it! It’s so stylish

But the best headgear is still t3 heavy, it’s just awesome!

Today, I bought another piece of t3 light, and while previewing all t1 and t2 armors again, I noticed something. I never bought the t2 light shoulder armor Oo And the preview doesn’t show any difference. What does it look like? I have no money left at the moment, so I can’t buy them, but I’m curious.

mmh, I have an almost white skin and I like the contrast to dark colors, it looks really nice You can also use strong colors like red without a problem.

There is just one issue, when I want to dye my armor in light colors, I can’t use them at the “roots” of the armor (the part, where the skintone mixes with the armortone), just at the “ends” of the armor (which looks nice too), because the light skin-color and the light armor color just don’t match (except the colors are exactly the same)… argh, I can’t find the right words, to describe the problem, english isn’t my mother tongue >_< I hope you can understand me.

But I still like my almost white skin and I would suggest it, the most color-schemes look really good on it (currently I’m using nightfire and a blood-red, the contrast to my skin is nice! before that I used firmament and a dark green, was nice too)

Yes, any race can wield any of the cultural weapons.

You sure? I think I’m remembering a scene, when I tried to preview the human T3 cultural weapons and the NPC told me, that I don’t have the right to wear them.
Furthermore I never saw any other race wearing T3 Sylvari weapons. But I’m not sure, I’ll test it.

Edit: Ok, I was wrong. Strange, all the time I was convinced, that the T3 weapons are special as the cultural armor and just the right race could wear them. I wonder how I got that impression

No, it doesn’t glow, as you can see on my 2. and 3. picture (T2 leg armor doesn’t glow, too)
But since you are showing a lot of your skin, you’ll have nice glowing effects nevertheless

Yes, I’m using T2 light, and I love it!
But you’re right, I just met two other players with T2 light male armor. And I’m playing since headstart.

Here are pictures. First, I was wearing just T2 (1. picture), but meanwhile I replaced the leg armor with T3, it looks better in my opinion.

This is odd.
I used the kit too, and I paid attention to the slider and it was not set to 0 but to max, just as my original Sylvari had. The preview was therefore right.

So it’s a bug (feature?), which not always occurs. I’m confused.

Now I’m afraid to use that kit. Don’t want to lose the glow.
I’ll wait for other statements :/

The female one does really glow?! Now I’m jealous ._.
In the “Screens of your Sylvari” thread you can see screens of my Sylvari (on the last page, 3 days ago). His skin is glowing so beautiful, but the armor… not a little bit.
Saw your post too, you should have taken the screens by night, now I’m curios xD

T2 light glows I know for sure.

T2 light doesn’t glow, at least the male armor doesn’t. I’m pretty sure, too, my Sylvari wore it for a long time. It’s just that you can see a great part of your skin, which is glowing of course.

Now, my Sylvari is wearing a mixture of T2 light and T3 light and still, nothing is glowing

Since the start of gw2. I’m pretty sure about it, I have pictures from the headstart, where you can see it pulsating I like it.

Right, the t2 helmet has just 2 slots to dye. My boyfriend is currently saving gold to buy t3 helmet, it looks amazing in my opinion, regardless if there are 2 or 3 slots to dye
About the leaf on the forehead, it’s not brown, it depends on how you dye it.

You can preview them at the cultural weapon seller. You’ll see, that they are not the same… The T1 weapons are not leafy at all. If you want the warden sword, you have to buy T3.

I’m sorry, english isn’t my mother tongue, maybe I’m using wrong words.
You CAN transmute everything, as long it’s the same type (sword with sword, dagger with dagger and so on). If one of the weapon is exotic and the other not, doesn’t matter.

But I wonder, the T1 sword looks the same as the T3 sword?

No, it’s not true.
I transmuted my T3 staff skin on another exotic staff. As long as you transmute the same type of weapon (or armor) it’ll work

Today, I bought the T3 Staff and I really like it.
So now we have pictures of the Greatsword, the Longbow, the Hammer and the Staff. Maybe we can collect pictures of the other weapons, too.

Just go to the cultural armor seller and preview it. If you dyed your actual armor with white and purple, the preview will have it too.

I’m not sure, if I understand your problem. Can’t you use a portal or just teleport? Those are the only two ways to leave the Grove.

Edit: I forgot the Heart of Mists. You can go to Lion’s Arch immediately, wherever you are, through it. From the Grove, too.

If it’s not the right hammer (I don’t know the english name, I just guessed), you can search on that site for it. It helped me a lot already

You sure it’s a bug? I was looking for rune’s too, and I noticed that the superior rune of the elemantalist shows all 6/6 equiped, too (I’m an Elementalist). Now reading, that a warrior got the same effect with the rune of the warrior makes me wondering. There are specific runes for every class, so maybe it’s not a bug.

But I don’t know if I should test it, the rune of the elemtalists costs above one gold… don’t want to waste my money.

Is there any way to buy T3 cultural weapons in the Black Lion Trading Co? Since you can buy the T2 weapons, I searched for the T3 weapons but didn’t find them…
( T2 = green dagger for example. I’m not sure about the name, I don’t know the english names. It’s the translation from german, but I hope you know which weapon I’m talking about )

And thanks for the hint, didn’t know that the preview is broken. Now I want the T3 dagger!

I’m playing just pve (level 80) from headstart, and I’m happy with my ele. I don’t want to play another class. I’m using two daggers and staff in dungeons and my current build ( I changed 4 times already) has 10 fire, 20 earth, 20 water and 20 arcane.

You know, it’s a difficult class, which needs thinking and exercise. And I know that I need much more time to defeat the same mobs as my guardian partner, but I AM able to win and I like the way I have to switch attunements and give everything for ever mob. I can imagine, that the other classes are pretty boring in comparison.

But I didn’t play pvp so far and I won’t try it with my ele… I guess I would be pretty dissapointed.

I play a ranger and my Healing Spring and traps are blanked out from the selection while underwater.

No, not all, thats right.
As an Elementalist, I can’t summon my elementals for example. But I would say, about the half of the skills can be used under water.

Thanks for this tip! I’ve about 300 hrs played and was full sure I could not assign the 7-9 skills underwater. I could have sworn I tried doing it before and it would not let me. Cant wait to try this when I get home from work.

mmh, I’m playing a male Sylvari with light armor. I have only Tier 1 and 2 so far and just checked, if one of those is glowing… and both are not (checked my graphic options, everything is set high).

Tier 1:
It’s strange, I always thought Tier 1 has glowing ends, but it seems as it hasn’t.

Tier 2:
Does not glow at all, as you see the skin of my Sylvari is glowing pretty strong. The arm armor is just the little ring, but I like it that way, cause of the glowing arm

So, I’m at level 80, played around 200 hours and knew everything of the list… but yesterday … god, I’m such an idiot, I’m walking the walk of shame. But maybe, there is someone out there who didn’t noticed it too…

When fighting underwater… you can set your 7 – 9 skills. BAM!

I always thougt you just can’t use your 7 – 9 skills underwater, since my out-of-water skills vanished and the slots were just blank. And yesterday… I had to wait a moment under water and I thought “hey, let be funny and just click the little arrows over the skill slots, MAYBE there is one skill to use” … ha ha… god, I can’t believe it. Now, fighting underwater is SO much easier as an Ele, since I can use my shields and everything else…

Laughed and cried too. Great post, especially all those “kill yourself” attacks xD You’ll be killed by the mobs either way, so why not kill yourself? You’ll make the live of the mobs so much easier :’D

No, I’m really sad about the recent patch. I’m the kind of palyer who plays with just one charakter and I’m loving my Sylvari Elementalist so much, I won’t start another class. I just hit the 80 a week ago. I guess I have to live with it and I’m crossing my fingers for the next patch. I’m not hoping for any improvements. Just… don’t make the Elementalists worse ;_;

I have a girly male Sylvari too, my boyfriend always calls him the “gay little prince” but I love him nevertheless! (My Sylvari! Well, my boyfriend too xD) The gif fits him so well

They took my only really effective weapon for underwater combat. I’m sad.
But I have still hope. The next patch … will be … better… ;_;

Yes, there are cross-race relationships (there is one in Orr), and various NPCs mack on folks of other races: some sylvari girls on a human guy, a human girl on a norn guy. In 1, you get proposals for marriage from Norn.

It’s mostly Charr and Asura that get left out, as their physical appearances are so different from the other three.

Oh, okay, thanks für the information. Maybe I’m always listening to the NPCs at the wrong times. I haven’t reached Orr yet, but I will watch out when time comes.

To be honest, I’m more bothered by the question if there are relationships between different races, than gay Sylvari couples. I’m not talking about Charr and Asura couples, this would be just too … strange. But what about Sylvari and Human? Since the Sylvari are shaped after the Humans, I imagine they could fall in love with each other, but never saw or heard in the game of it… at least I can’t remember.

Back to the original topic, I met the gay couple in the green knight storyline too, but it was so incidental, that it didn’t feel forced to me. It was just right.

(sry, about my english. the german forum is just so boring, I had to switch to the english one.)
