I’d first apologize (and with all due respect to our fellow European players) as the intent is not to hijack the thread. I’d second Dermal’s post, a nod to know the issue within NA is being looked at as well would be appreciated.
There’s a good program pointed out in the other latency thread (for EU players) by GM Awesomeness. Worth using and saving the sample. This could be handy for the open tickets as it adds more information for support.

It’s been the same for me. Never had that much drop in fps/lag even during server attacks in the past year. Like most people I’ve experienced some drop in fps/lag here and there but nothing this long. My computer is 1 years and 2 months old. i7 4770, gtx 770 egva SC edition, 16g RAM.
I’m continuing to log in, hoping to see the issue resolved by itself but still am at an average of 5-10fps (in Rata Sum) when I’m used to 70-100+fps in WvW/eotm.
Tried resetting router, internet speed and modem with my ISP. All good.
I repaired and reinstalled the client. Nothing changed.
Updated my graphic card driver. No change.
Ended up doing a system restore to last week. Nothing.
Today, I’ve updated driver for my Ethernet card, changed port and wire running from my router to my computer. Still no improvement in fps. Thought it might be malware so I ran a full scan with Windows 8.1 utility and found nothing.
Worrying about this and looking at 2 possibilities: 1 – reformatting my computer or 2 – buying and installing a new Ethernet card.
Finally opened a ticket. Not sure what else to check. Any idea while waiting for ArenaNet to answer the ticket?
This computer has 2 partitions, one of them being for gaming only so I don’t d/l anything. Not sure if it makes a difference but I went on watching a video on the other partition (so should be same gfx card) and had no issues.
I also reinstalled the card driver on the gaming/gw2 partition and still experienced the same issue.
Not that computer savvy…How do you check the temp of a gfx card?
Didn’t help and I also reinstalled the client.
Hi guys,
I’ve been playing GW2 without any problems for close to two months now and yesterday night, it seems to have gone haywire. After logging in and playing for a few minutes, the screen completely blurs into what I would call “pixelisation” (Sorry, can’t seem to find another way to describe it).
I try minimizing or even CTRL ATL DEL to go into my start task manager window but can’t even do that. It just freezes my whole computer.
As said I did play endless hours without any issues whatsoever until yesterday (even if my computer is not the top of the line) so I’m not sure what has happened.
Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 @ 2.33Ghz
Windows 7 32bits OS
4 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT
What I did:
1- Defrag and updated my Graphic card driver
2- repaired the exe file in the short cut (target line)
3- deleted the local dat (that helped for a bit this morning and was able to have a good 20 minute session)
Now once again, I know my computer is not the greatest but I was able to play without that complete freeze before. Unfortunately I cannot show you a printscreen.
Can someone help pinpoint what could be the cause and a possible resolution?
