At this point I liked it better when the gamemode wasn’t getting any attention. Simply mindblown Anet is giving stuff like this time.

Here’s hoping to a second expansion with a WvW revamp. Highly unlikely as it seems WvW isn’t getting the budget love it needs.

Problems are with the game.The origin of these problems were probably due to the tight budget or not the right guy for the job when the game mode was being dicussed/under development. More than likely a budget issue … What else is new, right?

Anyway we can point the index finger to just about anyone for taking advantange of these issues. Including ourselves for wanting to win and enjoy our time being spent. Feel free to disagree but deep down you know you also want to win.

Sadly … Pointing fingers does not contribute towards solving these issues. However the voting + dicussions are steps towards the right direction but still not quite what it should be. At least the developers are looking into WvW and they’re asking the community to look into it with them. Which I can only applaud. If anything the dev team should try to get a little more resources (money, people, hardware) to “fix” WvW.

Why didn’t you guys go with a sandbox gametype for WvW? Just replicate the Tyria PvE map, form it into some giant PvP map, and let it be ran by guilds + alliances in a single shard? Add some form of contesting, so that parts of the map could be owned by guilds/alliances, allowing them to build their own keeps/castles/what have you.

Yea ok, would cost heaps of time/hardware/etc. but you know … WvW would connect literally everyone across the globe, you as developers wouldn’t have to pour time into population balances as it’s completely player driven , the gamemode would just feel that more immersive as it’ll always be war over either territory or resources or even property, and so on . Will there be blobs? There will always be blobs. It does not matter how you seek the balance population in any kind of model that is known today.

Making builds work like sPvP is not a good idea. I’d rather see templates with our armor, weapons, trinkets, utilities and so on saved with the ability to name these templates. That way we get to keep our build diversity whilst not losing time nor bag space.

Does the above mean that legendaries would be less worth it? Not at all, if handled with logic and it’s very own restrictions ( maximum 4 templates per acc / toon / whatever you can come up with for balance sake).

Half our builds are already being saved in WvW. Surely Anet has plans to bring forth such a feature? Or not? Time will tell …

We are a no drama social guild of many years that is literally a household name in two games, DDO and Neverwinter, and are in the process of launching here in Guild Wars 2 under the original Founders myself and the lovely Paks. We are having great fortune finding wonderful people. Sounds promising. Though I have a few questions if you don’t mind.

- What’s your stance on the utilization of comms?
- How often do you guys run raids/dungeons/missions/etc …
- What is your most active timezone?
- Does your EU timezone have content creators?
- Are there certain fittings (armor, weaponry, etc …) enforced to fit in a WvW doctrine?
- Is it expected I need to transfer to another server in terms of WvW?
- Any puter savvy bro’s onboard?
- Organised? In what sense? Planning of structured events? Chain of command?

Been playing this game on and off ever since beta. Good times were had but always struggled finding a good group or even establishing one for that matter.

I’m looking to login and play with an active group who gets stuff done. Mainly daily dungeon runs, get in on some raids, have some laughs and all that jazz.

I have all professsions in the game. Some fitted properly and some fitted horribly. i’ll have to look into the horrible ones and fix them as time progresses.

[Burn] is a casual-friendly PvX guild looking for EU/US TZ players

Our primary goal is to have fun! We like to chillax on comms (TS3) and enjoy the game the way it’s meant to be played.

We’re currently aiming for 10 players in EU TZ and 10 players in US TZ. Allowing the guild to generate content and play the game with each other in the desired timezones.

The amount of players we’re aiming for is subject to change if more than the desired amount want to join and wish to be a part of [Burn]. However we will cap this at 30 to 50 just not to overwhelm ourselves and our members.

NOTE: Unfortunately you will not be able to play with the majority of the guild if you’re on a EU server. Alternatively you can transfer to one of the US servers or Blackgate itself. However this is at a cost (gems). We advise you to weigh your options and get to know [Burn] prior doing so.

What can you expect at this very time?

Casual players looking to establish content for those that;

- Don’t have a huge amount of time to play just so he/she meet a certain criteria set by some major guilds out there.

- Have no desire or time to prioritize the game over RL. (Alarmclocking for WvW per example.)

Additionally you can expect;

- A Teamspeak 3 server provided by guildleaders.

- Teamplay. (leveling, dungeons, WvW, sPvP, … Etc)

- Social interaction with fellow guildmates.

- Above all … Just having fun in a casual mannerism.

What does [Burn] expect from you?

- Be patient with a fellow guildmate. Be tolerable towards who they are, where they are from and how they wish to play the game.

- Willing to endure growing pains. (Finding like-minded people, new players, players not so experienced at dungeons/PvP/WvW, … Etc)

- Willing to generate content alongside your fellow guildmates. (Invite ’em to play in dungeons with you, perhaps help ’em level, host a WvW raid, … Etc.)

- Willing to share your thoughts/ideas to make the guild enjoyable for everyone. Your input will contribute towards making the guild a better place!

- No elitism. As it may be lucrative for a guild, it will only cause negative influences towards our memberbase. We prefer casual players over players who are persistent about how other players should enjoy the game. We consider casual players assets!

100% rep is not a must however appreciated!

if you would do so it will contribute to the growth of [Burn]! The more you rep and play together? The more influence we’ll have to get some guild goodie goodies (24/7 Buffs, weekly missions, huge storage… Etc.).

I played EVE for a while, was fun but too expensive for my tastes for a long term mmo, I always lag on any game at really annoying times, rarely do i have perfect connection, why I don’t like taking risks in games that there is consequences for.

Yea… As I said, terrible drops, not had a pre, ever, and rarely any exotics outside of pvp, I seem to be rather lucky with ascended, got quite a few rings and armour peices/weapon box drops while on my route to rank 80, more than I’d have ever gotten from pve and saving for materials, my bank is essentially full of ascended things I’ve reserved for my future revenant to inherit.

Oh well, if I can make my character look epic on a budget I will, I am not a huge fan of fused weapons, I dislike the “chains” that seem to decorate it, I’d prefer using a more “natural” fire/lava weapon but that is just personal ascetic choice :P

I’ve played Eve Online for 10 years and was thrilled about the ‘risk vs reward’ aspect of the game. Though, I was more into the social interaction and working together as a team part. But then things changed, you get married, you get a kid and all that jazz and suddenly the time you’re able to devote to game(s)/hobby(s)/friend(s) rapidly changes.

Well I had a Dusk drop on me once before I took a break from GW2. Sold it, bought a fused GS and some account upgrades (char and bank slots mostly). But other than that. I can count on two hands how much exotic/ascended drops I had. Maybe it’s because I don’t grind as often? I don’t lay enough DPS? I’m not the one to get something ‘good’ in the rotation at that given time? Who knows? Essentially I’m in the game for being able to chillax on comms with people I know and have something to do when my wife and daughter are sleeping.

Yea I’m a budget guy myself, always looking into that cheap alternative to find something that’ll make my toons like good and be geared up for either WvW or dungeons. The fused weapons I’m working towards will take ages, more than likely I will not even get to that point, lol. But it gives something to work towards, you know?

You should see it on asura…little blue alien….every time i see it I chuckle and the song from Eiffel 65 plays in my head, “I’m blue”

I am not the richest player, and I mainly do pvp now, I’ve never done wvw, my luck is terrible when it comes to drops :S, think I might just settle for volcanus for a long term goal….464 gold….yeah…I’ve not had more than 100g at any one point lol, primordus will do as a poor mans balthazar weapons :P

I had a necro…I deleted so I could actually make this character in preperation, no idea if hot will give us a free character slot as per tradition, so better safe than sorry, and I’d rather reserve the name beforehand.

I do a lot of pvp so skins of armour and weapons are a priority to me, i love making my characters really stand out, or mimic themes, like my war is modeled after achilles, and I spend tons of different skins that I like

Yea PvP is currently where it’s at the moment for me too. WvW it’s lag on T1 has proven to be terribad when it comes down to huge brawls. It wasn’t this bad a few weeks ago, there was some but it was OK. Now? Eh … Meh … Skills don’t respond on crucial moments and you’ll simply die in a glorious fire and you can’t do much about it. It’s not as bad as TIDI in Eve Online but eh … Just enough to set it aside for a while. So I’m hoping this will be resolved as WvW is my number 1 gamemode.

Yea, you and me both. Being rich in this game requires you to grind a lot or play the market like crazy. I’m not into that nor will I ever be. So settling with a longterm goal is good enough as it gives you something to look forward to. Volcanus is a good choice, it really is, just wish they had a complete weaponset that matches it. I’d be saving for that instead of the fused weaponset …

A friend who mains a ranger uses the body and legs, and uses different gloves, boots and helmet along with that scarf, to me a blue body with a normal head doesn’t look good….

I’ve seen others just use the body as well…

I have a feeling I will only use it on my future rev(who will quickly become my main proffesion based on what I have seen) and potentially my mesmer, just no helmet so I can still see her epicly cute face, since there isn’t many armour sets that look good on a charr I actually like how the “cape” is animated to move with the tail and not just clipped through like every other outfit my charr has.

Even so, I may use on others but I do really want it….I just need some weapons to go with it, shame the volcanus costs so much!!, since staff is pretty much confirmed on a revenant as a melee weapon, maybe my primordus staff will suit it, along with some more primordus weapons to fill the others slots….kinda want a norn for their height might look more “god of war” type feel but humans have the cultural skill to summon his hounds for more roleplaying purposes

Yea, the outfit looks pretty neat on almost every class/race/gender. Totally fits on a warr, guard and a rev. Looks a little ‘thin’ on a female but it doesn’t change the fact the outfit is just awesome sauce …

Yea, I think the rev will quickly become one of my main toons for WvW. Right now my main for PvE is my warr and my necro/guard are for WvW. Though … I do have a soft spot for my mesmer, thief and ele.

As for weapons. I can see the fused weaponset working with it but costs like an arm and a leg to get a hold of. Volcanus however is not too expensive but still a lot of gold for a casual player. However, there is no other weapon that matches the look of the Volcanus to complete a weaponset. So I am kinda leaning towards the fused weaponset … Might take me a couple of years to grind the 3 weapons I want, as I already have the GS, but oh well … It’s another goal on my ‘to-do’ list.

Surely they WILL bank on it as everyone and their mother will buy it! So they really should not ignore these posts nor postpone the release of it any further. Make it happen ANet!

I’d bank on it being today, but never know any delays, while I do wish they released individual pieces, I am not bothered, I’d more than likely just use the set anyway.

I bought the zodiac set a while back as well, and that adds individual pieces, and I have seen people use just pieces and it does not look good at all IMO, I prefer the entire set or nothing at all on some sets, but the majority of my characters use mix/match armour sets

As for the person who commented about everyone using it, people made that argument about the black wings, and while on the first day or 2 EVERYONE used it, it died down and rarely see anyone use it now.

I want it for it’s looks and the nostalgia of gw1, my dervish used that form a lot.

It would be awesome if we could mix and match the Balth outfit. However I am not bothered if we could not. Perhaps in the future but it would still not change my mind. I like the outfit the way it is!

But you’re right, in a few the hype of this outfit is over and people will barely use it. Though … I for one would welcome the outfit and will continue to use it on my warr and rev!

As nice and detailed as the Balthazar outfit is, I still won’t buy it simply because you can’t mix and match outfit pieces. This means that as good looking as the outfit is, you’re going to have hundreds of players using it and all looking identical, which kinda makes it dull.

Yes, everyone and their mother will buy it. However … Just to be safe I will purchase it now as ANet may rethink how they will let us handle outfits in the future. At least then I already have it IF they would ever change the mechanic once again. Would be cool if they would but … Eh … Meh … Time will tell!

Hey guys, so i sent a very expensive as a trade to this person. I was hoping he/she would send me my desired item back, they didnt. They claim they never received the item. I screenshots of the convo, can i get this person banned if i find out they scammed me ? Also, does ANET keep track of items sent through mail?

I’m pretty sure they have it logged in their database. Just don’t trade through mails unless you know the person you’re dealing with for a very long time. Too bad there is no direct trade function like in some other games …

- Player X initiates trade with player Y
- Player Y accepts trade and panel opens
- Player X places gold / item he / she wishes to trade in the panel.
- Player Y does the same as player X
- Player X and Y inspect if it’s the desired item / amount of gold.
- Player X and Y both have to press a ‘confirm’ button to complete the trade.

More than likely needs some fine tuning to prevent spamming the trade request or trolling from several players. But at least, well, such a feature should have been there a long time ago.

This thread makes me wish they had included ‘/facepalm’ or even ‘/trollface’ as emotes.

Too bad these were not released for Easter. At least the ears would have compensated just a tiny bit for the lack of launching a ‘fun’ event for Easter.
