Yeah but still, why will they want to come to a lowbie area with me? When they can have more fun in the high level area.. and ofcourse there are possible compensations, I dont have to pay a monthly subscription to get a compensation.. How would you like getting banned for 10 days then they tell you.. sorry it wasnt meant to be that long, now go on play its fine.

I apologize for the late response. I have reviewed the account, and determined that the violation did not warrant such a long suspension. As such, I have unblocked the account. It is now playable.

Has anyone got this before? Is there any compensation to this wasted time we were banned for? I lost 8 days of leveling with my friends and everything Ive missed due to their mistake? Why ban before you investigate …. really.

Dont bother arguing, nothing will happen. The agreement thing as an excuse ‘warning’ just doesnt make sense. All MMO’s have those agreement and STILL gives an email/warning before getting banned.

I got banned for 3 days for replying to someone who mentioned a “fleshlight” by saying “I used to own a fleshlight, but it filled up.”

I understand banning if this is unacceptable. My only issue is that never before in a videogame have I ever been banned for joking around.

I really wish I would have just got a warning. I wouldn’t have said anything again. 3 day’s with no warning seems pretty harsh considering i never call people names or anything racially offensive.

I very much so agree with you. If I had been warned instead of being banned immediately, I would have refrained from swearing. The only reason why I swore in GW2, is because it’s never been a problem in any video game I’ve played, and I didn’t think this one was different.

However, knowing now how strict everyone is about chat now, I’m not sure I want to play a game where I’m stressed out about if I’ll be reported for something I see as a joke, but someone else sees as offensive. Or if I lightly swear around guild mates or something. If that’s how they want to run their game, that’s fine. It’s just odd and I like this game, so I’d hate to have to see it off for such a trivial problem.

The thing is my quote up there is literal. I didn’t swear in the sentence. I don’t think i’ve sworn in GW2 chat at all ever.

I’m being quite literal. I said " I used to own a fleshlight but it filled up" I understand that it’s tasteless and rude and I have no problem never saying anything like that again in chat if that’s what Arenanet deems fit.

My only problem is that I really don’t feel that is 3 day ban worthy considering I’ve never used racial slurs or called someone and idiot or stupid in chat. All I did was joke around with some low brow humor.

How would you feel about a 14 day ban then? I hope I got a 3day ban.. a 14 day ban is JUST too much tbh.

So? We dont get any warning for getting a first mark? Just a 14 day ban suddenly? why not a 3 day ban.. :S Im pretty sure it was once or twice I said the n word with my friends and in unharmful way but why the 14 days seriously its SO harsh :/

And yes I did admit that I said a word, and I deserve punishment but it is clearly not 14 days as other people ALL have 3 days. I would like to know what made me more than them? or MAYBE its a sort of mistake
and btw, kitteny was not a swear word it was something else but was censored somehow. So yeah, I did make a mistake but I dont think 14 days is a suitable punishment for it. Anyhow I dont want to argue lets keep it clean for the mod to reply as soon as possible
Edit: And it clearly states that any chat offense gets a 3day ban while I got a 14, and I read somewhere that you get a warning? Didnt get any sort of thing and just a straight 14 day ban which is harsh tbh.

I woke up to find my account banned for 14 days for “racial slurs”. Yes I admit I might have used the n word a few times but in all cases it was to friends and not in any racist way possible. Yes I deserve to be punished but ive seen people do worse and all they get is a 3 day ban? How come mine is 14 days or this is some sort of mistake? Isnt 14 days a BIT steep?

What is the point of the profanity filter, and /ignore user if they are just going to ban the perpetrators anyways? I just looks like a good way to cheese off customers into playing some other game.

This is what I was wondering at first, but I sorta understand that light swearing is appropriate if not spammed and if people don’t want to see that then they can filter it, I guess what Anet wants is for all your swearing rants to go on inside guild/party/whisper chats and not in the general public or /say.

Thanks for that. Yes, the team isn’t going to jump on someone for a slip of the tongue. But there’s a low tolerance for the truly nasty stuff: the hate speech, the racist comments, the repeated swearing. Honestly, we’re gamers too, and we try to exercise a good level of fairness in blocks.

(And as I said earlier in my responses, I’d like to see the 12-digit incidents numbers of those blocked for two weeks. Do be aware that if you give me that, and I see you did something deserving of that length of suspension, I will post it on the forum. So… choose wisely. )

Same here, I got banned for 334 hours(14 days aka 2 weeks) for Racial slurs. I remember saying the word kitten a few times to my FRIENDS but it was never in a unfriendly way or a racist way, thats how I like talking to my friends and people and no one has told me that it hurt them in any way.
