I am a small representative from Borlis Pass from the guild [EDGE] part of a Collaboration of Guilds (C.O.G) which host to around 14 guilds within our community, and I wish to congratulate your effort and determination in our match up.

We understand that the match up is alittle one sided with us having superior numbers at the current moment, but we sincerely wish to extend our warmest regards to both your servers as we completely understand how you feel, as we have been on the receiving end of this type of match up as well, we hope there is no hard feelings as it is the luck of the draw on how our servers face off each other in the resets.

As such, we are extending our invitation to any guild from NSP and Kaineng that wish to consider a transfer over to Borlis Pass as well, we are a growing and friendly community and we would love to entertain any questions you might have if you do entertain a consideration to move here to our community.

Our server is very much alive and active in the WvW scene, with many large guilds leading the charge and small to medium sized guilds working in unison on the battlefield to achieve great feats, you will find that every guild no matter how small or how large is appreciated and treasured within our community. How about implementing a separation of WvW, sPvP and PvE population? Shouldn’t be too difficult, just check the playtime in the different areas.

DDLG, you guys are very well organized. But it has been said before, the invidual skill level is reflected when your turtle gets broken and we push into you. And it is sub-par. However, that is ineveitable when you are at 500 members. ~30 people having high individual skill as well as group skill is very difficult to achieve.

That said, you guys are a pain to deal with.

Anyone saying that HoD are good, are really pushing it. Yesterday, as mentioned, you outmanned us and tried to take our EB keep repeatedly. You couldn’t. We beat you in open field, for as long as it lasted. You either have to build siege to be able to even stand a chance, or you just run into the tower.

Trying to say you are better than NSP and that we have bad players is funny. NSP is known for its player skill. You are masters at using supply though, I’ll give you that.

HoD didn’t push IoJ into last, NSP did, with holding our BL for as long as you did. Yes we did see you guys hit HoD BL, but with what happened to our BL and within our server, it kind of sealed our placing in this match up. This late in the match up we will probably come last regardless if we attack HoD only. We’re not giving up, just that you’ll probably see less resistance from us due to the majority of our fair weathers going back to pve till the next match up. (even some of our WvW guilds are burning out, and we don’t have many of those)

It’s becoming clearer to me and a lot of our other commanders, that IoJ as a server , is not well liked due to some of the attitudes that some of our player’s have/are displaying. We do try our best to restrain ourselves but it can be more difficult for others and we can’t control everyone. The member from IoJ who was whispering Spet’s (sorry if I got your name wrong) is a bit of a loose canon and even gives our commander’s flak. I’m not making excuses for his actions/words but there’s not much we can do. If it’s that much of an issue, please use the reporting tool to get a more satisfactory result, it’s probably the best anyone can do about it.

Overall, as much as this match up has been frustrating for us, it is still a good learning experience. The majority of the roaming groups we get from the other servers in IoJ BL every night (oceanic tz) are very talented. If I was good enough I may have been able to pick up on some of your tricks, but alas, you’ve just proven to me that I need to go pvp more and do it with player’s that I can learn from that are equal to that calibre shown by our enemies roaming groups. The value of scouts can not be emphasised enough, but sometimes even early warning can not prepare us for a blitzkrieg style attack that NSP is perfecting, yet . In the end all we can do is take away what we learn from this match up and try to improve ourselves as best as we can. I’m hoping for some epic battles to finish this match off with regardless of where we come in at. (2nd would be preferable, but I’m a realist)

And those aren’t whines as much as accurate statements. You did have people defending your BL. Maybe we were more attacking, but you can’t burn 1,000 supply that fast without having at least a certain amount of people.

But you know your strength is at a certain time. We know that too. However, when we fight against any of your numbers when we have our own (afternoon EU), you know what we are capable of. And that extends to our NA.

If we had 10-20 people online at your prime, you could probably take one keep in our BL, and it would stop there. However, we have proven that you can not say the same. (The first keep we take is usually free, but not the 2nd or 3rd).

Reguardless of the 30 people you had defending we still took it Also no sorry but whenever you bring 50 people and 10+ golems to our borderlands your not “skillfully” taking our keeps… It’s called ninja’ing, all zergy servers like yours do it and it hardly requires anything other then knowing how to chain portals. Either way NSP has way better coverage then IoJ and from the score it’s become quite evident that NSP will probably win due to there around the clock coverage and massive population.

WvW is about many things, but one of the biggest of them is siege weapons. We will continue to make changes and additions to the game to make siege weapons more varied and more interesting while also changing other aspects of the game. But it will always be a game type that uses siege weapons and uses them a lot. It is part of what makes WvW unique and the strategy involved is important. And before you mention it, I have died to many, many arrow carts.

It’s a shame that you have such a limited, noncompetitive view of open world fighting. I don’t know if no one at Anet played DAoC, or if you were all just god awful at it, but you are missing out on so much potential because you are so focused on driving wvw into a mindless zerging siege fest.

If instead of intentionally pushing the skilled players out of wvw you had encouraged small group play, GW2 would have the best roaming pvp scene since DAoC, but instead it’s a joke.

But hey, on the upside, maybe if you continue to ruin wvw more and more with every patch, hopefully eventually you will be forced to actually put some resources into spvp.

I know for a fact that XOXO and SPCA are absolutely beastly roaming guilds on NSP. I have also seen that Splt and tM are good (but I haven’t seen it for myself, so I can’t make a judgement call).

NSP have some beastly roamers, and we are known for our small-number strength.

But how about whining about something more game breaking in WvW with the so beloved arrow cart’s. Why can these things shoot through impossible barriers like behind a gate and the arrows just pierce through thick solid wood ? yes makes sense!

Not too mention how noob friendly it is too use them, place about 10 and SM is just near impossible too cap even when you flank from different locations. Why not put a limit on how many AC’s can get in a wide area like only 3-5?

To the ones saying that NA servers outside of T1 doesn’t need the EU coverage – that’s bull. NSP is in need of coverage in our dead-zones, and when we have that, we will be capable of so much more than we already do. Our NA prime is tremendous, but it gets less and less active when it nears night time for them.

We are outmanned on several occasions, but we still manage to win against groups and servers we shouldn’t (according to coverage and Mos.Mill).

1) Northern Shiverpeaks, NA
2) It is lacking in the EU/Oceanic, but our NA is very strong.
3) There is some trolling (more people who know eachother joke with eachother. Haven’t seen much trolling lately), but when kitten goes down, we focus.
4) Lack of numbers and coverage, definitely.
5) NSP is a highly populated server, and the PvE is thriving.
7) We do have a server-wide ventrilo server available for WvW, but unfortunately not everyone uses it.
8) We have close to no queues over the week (rarely). However, we do tend to have some queues on reset night on our BL or EB. (Both are rarely queued at the same time)

NSP by far has the worst roamers I have EVER seen, atleast completely inferior in every aspect to the average IoJ roamer. We completely demolish your zergs with equal numbers in open field. Also about that remark about being able to hold something with 10 people, a keep no less. A keep can hold 1700 supply, now thats more then enough to build 5+ arrow carts for every gate, and conveniently for the red corner overlook is by far the easiest keep to defend with the elevation and the fact that there are only 2 inner gates (blue keep has 3) makes it even more so easier to defend. So its nothing that great to brag about honestly especially since you end up losing the keeps in the end anyways. Now if you were to say wipe a zerg of 50 IoJ’ers (which will never happen since we’re better then you and we can’t field 50 people like NSP can) with 10 people in open field then that would certainly be something to brag about.

NSP definitely needs some more people that listen and follow commanders.

Os is really the only organized guild I’ve seen here. But a few of us have been keeping home pretty locked down until we get out numbered by organized groups.

Don’t leave out zos bots and as and all the smaller guilds oh and we have nsp too

bots is the only other one I see tbh, and I don’t see a lot of them running together. That’s not to say they aren’t in EB destroying people, but I don’t spend any time in EB really.

I mostly help out at home and have helped with breakouts from time to time when we’ve need to attack other places in order to regroup at home. So I don’t see too many guilds besides Os that are actually traveling in groups.

I would probably be of more us to our server if I had a commander tag to flip on when these guys are fighting in EB. I’m just not confident in my leading ability; not yet anyway.

As soon as I stabilize my laptop, you should probably see a lot more AS in WvW. (I try to nag my guildies into WvW as much as I can when I’m on. They do a lot of WvW, though. But we are generally in other places than EB)

Also, like Bird, I can help with some Commanding tips and tricks and how to counter a bigger army, etc.

The reason we (me, at least) don’t think highly of you, IoJ, is that you think you will get a bigger kitten from winning against a server that has no coverage as compared to you.

When you are up against a server like DH, that actually has coverage, you come in 2nd. If we had equal footing, as in numbers online, you know just as well as us that we would beat you.

Yet, you show up and say that you are so much better than us? Hell no. Our prime would crush your oceanic. If we get some oceanic transfers or our current oceanic players to join WvW, you’ll see why we can hold our own and constantly gain point on millenium.

Tiers may not matter, but they reflect expectations from different servers. Look at our points there since randomization, and that reflects what NSP is, and has been.

This does not mean the claimers, of course. I am talking about Champion Grub and Aboreal Spirit.

Some NPCs, like warthogs, deer and wolves is fine, but when the Champion appears as an event to kill, people have a tendency to attack it and derail what the majority of players consider WvW to be.

It has been brough up before, I’d like to re-visit the idea.

If you are so focused on ‘only pvp’ Why are you in WvW? Why not play Spvp? And rather arrogant to state that I don’t ‘do’ what I am ‘supposed’ to do! – If you were not supposed to fight the Champs in WvW, why are they there? Maybe you are ‘supposed’ to fight them?

You obviously don’t realize that WvW is about taking points. It isn’t PvE. And sPvP is boring as hell to me, so no, I won’t.

I don’t know why they are there, and I really hope Anet will remove them asap so we can get rid of the people who kill the Champs.

Because Champs in WvW provide some PvE (I like both Pvp and Pve)
And most commanders on my server don’t have a clue how to command – just bark out orders like we are expected to follow without question!

Fighting the Champs in WvW gives a break from the tedium of fuelling the egos of arrogant commanders.

But there are champs outside of wvw as well. Why pull attention away from what you are supposed to do in WvW?

Also, a commander commanding pugs spent 100g of their cash to help the server, and then they are called arrogant? I don’t know what people you have dealt with, but the arrogance may not be the Commander’s.

I’d like to have the maps being like this:

Green BL – Forest map
Blue BL – Water map
Red BL – Fire map

When I say water map, I don’t mean 100% water, I mean water inbetween everything so open field combat has a big chance of being in water, etc.

If you have spent over 100 of you levels in wvw for the buff, you deserve the buff.

And again, we started in your borderlands ninjaring hills off of dh with 6 people, we now have nearly 15 roaming around, and little to no NSP, whats the go!

We have an extreme lack of coverage. That’s what’s keeping us in the lower tiers.

Hi there! I have read some of the replies here and I agree with a lot of it.

However, I’m here to add my experience.

I was in the same spot you were in, I didn’t find a guild suitable for my needs, and I’m a leader, not a follower.

I started with no rules other than to be respectful and to listen. It started out with a lot of non-reps, so I implemented a few rules.

“Rep at least once a week, or you will be kicked” was one of them.
The once who didn’t got kicked. Simple as that. You need to be strict when it comes to things like these to avoid these issues.
We hit 50 members, and decided to clear the roster.

Went back to probably 20.
Then we went to 100.
Cleared, went down to 50.
Now we are 170 members iirc, and the majority reps. Everyone reps at least once a week, and if they don’t, they are kicked.

It does suck, having to kick people, but it is part of being a guild leader. Just recruit more and more people, and you’ll see which ones rep. Keep them, kick the others.

Being a guild leader takes a lot more work than people expect. I am a nice guy, but I know that I have to be strict when I have to. That’s the only way you can lead a guild effectively. You’ll see influence skyrocket when you hit 20 active members. (We went from maybe 1k influence a day to at least 10k influence a day).

Be strict, but fair.

Because killing the grub is absolutely kittened… Anet should remove it asap.

Example of what has happened before.

I’m tagged as the only Commander on EB.
We are not that many, maybe 20-30.
They group on my tag, and we run out of the keep (blue).
Swords on umber, we rush to save it.
When we engage the group of 20 enemies, we have 10-15 remaining, rest are killing grub.

Yeah, that’s when I rage.
