Well with HoT rolling out soon I thought I’d seek our the best guild suited for myself I guess in some way you can call it (the perfect guild for me)

So a bit about myself and what I’m looking for, I’m 22, east coast (thats EST time) I work Friday-Monday 6:30pm – 5:00am so I’m always on Tuesday-Thursday, and for a couple of hours on my work days. I’m also a night owl so I tend to stay up till around 5 or 6 in the morning. So timezone specific guilds aren’t an issue really it can be whatever timezone and I’ll probably be online or try to be.

I do a little bit of everything top 250 in PvP, Silver rank in wvw, lots of dungeon and fractal experience. And I like to be social I like talking or hearing people talk because if they don’t well then I get bored. I’d like to get a group to pvp with, or do dungeons with, or wvw roam (if applicable). That being said my server is BG currently (no hate, it just so happens that’s where I’m at) might be willing to transfer if I get really attached to the guild I end up joining. I’m really looking for a nice social home, a guild that communicates uses a voip pref Teamspeak or Mumble. A guild to keep me entertained so I can make friends.

Thinking about buying a new laptop on amazon, and was wondering what specs should I be looking for to max out everything in gw2 options.

With one exception

You have to have at least 1 million influence,

I know it’s a weird request and you might be asking why?

Well for one it shows that it’s a guild that’s been around for a while so its structured/organized

And two, it may reflect on how active the guild is doing lots of events, and having a lot of people always repping.

update: re-downloaded the game, everything seems to be working now I am able to log on my character, I just hope i never experience this crash ever agian

Just tried it, no problems were found

I tried logging on my character in cursed sure, loaded for about 20 seconds (the time I saw the circle thin at the bottom right corner rotate) after that it stopped and the crash message pops up

Here are the details of the crash after attempting the -repair method

All I want to do is play, I don’t know if its my computer or the game. Still can’t log onto my main character that’s trapped in cursed shore loading screen.

Checked errors in drive no errors, when I did the -repair command I actually crashed except this time I could report it

Another update,

I took my main, IGN, Knoxty to cursed shore now I am stuck there on the loading map receiving the same crash message I’ve been talking about.

I can log in on my other toons that are not on cursed shore.

I think I should redownload the game,

So an update; this error is still occurring, but now on normal characters except this time it only occurs sometimes when loading into a pvp map, but it has happened in the middle of a fractals as I was walking, and again in Lion’s Arch.

A guildee of mine told me if my drivers were full, from what I know it’s not.

I also re-downloaded the game a couple of days ago hoping it would fix this problem, this problem has been happening to me in pvp for a couple of days.

Not sure what to do.

The strange part about this is I can log in on my normal toons, so this only occurs on my beta slot character.

I’ve tried closing and opening the client, I even restarted my computer.

Usually crashes like these have a report option but this one doesn’t

LIS = Legendary Imbued Shaman

Not sure if this is a bug or where to post this thread but for now this will do.

Anyways I think I have found a combat mechanic failure against the LIS in regards to warrior’s signet of might.

First the active ability from signet of might states “Your attacks are unblockable”

Next is being familiar with one of LIS’s abilities, Shield Bubble. When this ability is activated he blocks all attacks.

So I was doing fractals the other day and tried signet of might on him, and it worked properly allowing me get pass his shield and “damage him”

I say that in quotation because even though my attacks got through his shield I only did ZERO damage to it.

Why is this a problem?
Well sometime after I went to sparkfly fen to test this out on a similar champion, the Champion Risen Juggernaut who also has a shield bubble only this time when I used signet of might my attacks actually did damage to him.

So in conclusion I must ask/know, against the LIS is this the way it’s intended to work, if so then why not just make the LIS invulnerable during his shield bubble?

Well if they don’t take our suggestions, which is perfectly fine, maybe somewhere down the road like 2 years they will! That way we won’t expect it, other than that then we’re just a bunch of blokes telling each other jokes.

Some people love 24 hours of ANYTHING different. It’s a hoot as well as a break from the routine. Other people immediately come to the forums and vent their rage at being forced to participate in something so childish. (The nerve of this company!)

ANet did a nice thing last year in giving the players the ability to relive their Bobbleheadedness anytime with a Gem Store purchase.

I would suggest this year that they also address the haters, since their voices tend to ruin the fun for the rest of us. Mail everyone a “Happy April Fool’s Day” letter when they log in. It would do two things: First it would answer all those people who log in and ask “Why is my character a Skritt?” Second, it could point out an April Fool’s Day NPC that they can visit to opt in/opt out of the festivities. Everyone wins.

Alright it’s February, lets start talking about the REAL hype train, the annual GW2, April Fools prank by Anet.

So the other night my guildees and I started discussing possible April Fools pranks that we think would be hilarious; here they are:

Troll Dailies:
For the dailies of April 1st, Anet should give us the most ridiculous, impossible, obnoxious dailies you could think of! Here are some of our ideas:
Daily legendary crafter
Daily Yakslapper Achievement
Daily 10k trash collector achievement
Etc, there were more but I can’t remember them all, tell us your own troll daily you’d like to see.

Wannabe a YAK Day
As a tribute to the impossible Yakslapper Achievement for April 1st, Anet would transform every Ambient creature, or any mob if they feel up to the challenge, into a Yak(But only in the WvW maps). And none of these would count for Yakslapper Achievement. Now there was a variant to this idea, instead of transforming the mobs they’d transform the players into yaks where you’ll see everyone else as a yak but on your own screen you see your character normally.

And last but not least…
A paper bag helmet with Colin’s face on it, if not just a paper bag.

So I’m going to be transferring servers, been away from the game for a bit was on SBI, everyone I knew once is now gone or inactive and rarely plays. That’s why I want to start a new in a fresh new server. I do a little bit of everything pve stuff like fractals and dungeons, pvp, and wvw. I would like prefer a server that always has an active wvw community to jump into the fray. And by always I mean in the middle of the night like 2-5am est time lol. I don’t know sometimes I’m restless and bored and would like to play some wvw but everyone is asleep. So help me out here! Suggest me your server why I should join it. Convince me! Thank you!

I’d also like to add that to me personally it’s all about the community that keeps me playing this game, meeting new people and befriending them and doing things together makes this game fun for me.

I was looking forward to what would the bonus item for the black lion chest would be since its the start of season 2, I guess I was under the impression that it would change every 2 weeks but I guess that wasn’t the case.

So since season 2 has started I noticed it hasn’t updated.

Uh I guess I wasn’t clear enough on my question, basically what I was asking was does anyone know of any heavy armor pieces, that have 4 dye slots?

So I’m in need of some help regarding armor dye slots, specifically heavy armor with 4 dye slots. I looked around if anyone had any information about this but had no luck finding any. Shame there is no data base or archive with how many dye slots every armor piece has. Anyways if anyone can help out that’d be much appreciated.

So I’m pretty happy that this thread was made because I was wondering about this on the first week that the LA attacks started happening during the miasma event; so basically a long time ago. The best way to get to this vista I found was as a warrior to sword leap unto the diagonal fence from the spot where the guild vendors where at once before the attack. I haven’t tried any other way because I only have one toon and its a warrior. Anyways if anyone would like to see this trick you can add me and I’ll show you.

Hey guys, Noxty here with another album of the previous living story, “The Edge of the Mist” with about 500ish pictures. So somethings I’d like to say about this particular album and a little about EoTM, if you turned shaders on high it would make the area look very dusty and cloudy which makes sense since we are in the sky so I had to turn it down when I took these pictures to make them look alot better. Next I want to say that contrast played a huge part in these pictures, oddly enough these pictures could handle alot of contrast I think for one of them I added about 80 contrast and it looked amazing.

Once again keep in mind that this is the album without any added contrast since there are alot of them it would have been a pain to add contrast to all of these screenshots. So let me know what you guys think or if you have any favorites or critiques all comments are welcomed.

Are you an SBI player and looking for a guild? Join CaLM! We are a PVX guild pretty well known in the SBI community and super friendly. We require that you are 18+ to join due to the number of older players in our guilds. Just like any other guild would say, we do dungeons together; if anyone wants to do a dungeon run they usually say something in guild chat and we usually have people interested and get together. Not only do we run dungeons but we teach you how to run them correctly. We got people that do a lot of PvP that will team up with you for some tPvP so you can fight with them together against other players and learn while teaching each other how to improve in your skills or tactics. We have our share of WvW players and commanders that are always trapped in WvW zering it out or havocing around the borderlands, but we do have a reset night event as a guild where a nice handful of our members band together to fight for our server! Whenever a world boss is about to spawn we usually have people announcing it in guild chat. We are all pretty friendly and polite and if anyone of our members needed help with leveling or questing all you have to do is just ask and someone will help you. We also have our own TS server and our own website. We like to give out prizes from our guild bank, all usually donated by our members. And occasionally we do have a drinking night and that’s always fun.

So I’m assuming the NPCs that teleport us to the daily activities such as sanctum sprint, etc will be evacuated first and will be somewhere safe right? Speaking of activities one of my favorite activities, moa racing. I’m assuming it will be disabled during this living story unless they move moa racing to somewhere else.

Honestly you can’t destroy LA without telling us what those asuran portals in Coriolis Plaza are for.
They are being worked on still and inactive, I believe the NPC working on it says they they can’t tell us who told them to work on it or whats it for. So my question is when LA does get destroyed will these portals be destroyed as well?

Here’s a good question if LA is truely going to be under attacked by 3 different armies is it only going to affect a certain part of the LA map or the whole LA map? If it does affect all of LA then should we expect mobs in the 3 JPs? or will they be unaffected?

Greetings fellow Tyrians I am just an ordinary player with an interest in screenshots; in game photography.

So in the last living story I took the time to take a bunch of screenshots in HD, max graphics on in game. So here I am just wanting to share my album to the public. Some notes I’d like to add is that I feel like there isn’t enough contrast in the screenshots even in the highest settings in game. So keep in mind these are the pictures without the added contrast. I actually took some of these pictures and put some more contrast that made them look really nice. I think some of the problems of these images could have been because of the shader, maybe I should have just kept it at none or low or maybe its because of the location where I was in; that being Lornar’s Pass with the wind blowing the snow making things less clear to see. Anyways here’s the link to my album let me know if you liked any of them and I’ll even accept criticism.

I would personally like to see more diversity in wvw and here’s what I mean.
It came to me one day that all the guards and keep lords are all the same npcs and it just bothers me because it’s always the same charr or human. I would like to see some more diverse races as tower guards or keep lords. For example a sylvari guard or charr wizards etc.

Also it wouldn’t hurt to see these npcs (the guards and keep lords) using different weapons instead of the same weapon, for example some keep lords use a rifle, the veteran at supply camps use hammers. Why is it like this? I feel like changing up some npcs in wvw might make wvw a bit more alive.

Some other wvw related things I would like to suggest is about siege skins, recall there are those skeletal undead trebs, blood legion have their own type of siege, I believe the pirates have a different looking siege and etc. I think it would be a neat idea if we could purchase these siege skins via the gem store or sold like normal at the TP in which you can acquire these siege from a mercenary camp vendor or capturing a specific supply camp. There are many ways you can play with this idea you can make more or change the current mercenary camps and put undead in one to get their siege skins or blood legion in one supply camp once captured you can get their siege. But its not only the siege that I want to discuss there is also supply caravans that should be considered, for example the blood legion have their own hovering supply carrier which would be interesting to see in wvw as a skin or from one specific supply camp. I would also like to suggest adding a new supply carrier, specifically a moa these animals would be great to getting supply to towers and keeps. But there must be a catch to make things fair so lets further discuss this idea. The supply carrying moa would move much faster than a yak but it carries less supply than a yak would and you can only get this via a supply camp upgrade it can spawn after the dolyak delivers and comes back and essentially take turns.

So two things here since the next update is to launch on Jan. 21st then should we expect the sneak peek on the 14th? (a week before the update) just like its always been. Or will it be leaked a bit earlier because I know a lot of players are anticipating this next big update. Anyways while I’m speaking of patch preview is there anyway anet can give us an extremely broad overview for updates in 2014, like a annual patch preview that doesn’t spoil anything.

Of course we got the finishers, the extractor, the xmas costumes etc. But I was wondering if there’s going to be anything else added or brought back into the gem store for the holiday season. Maybe even a flash sale or something. Since this is my first wintersday I think it would have been a great time for seasonal gathering tools. Besides that when can we expect the next gem store update? Will it be before or after the 2014 update on January 21st. Usually anet updates the gem store even though its not a patch week which is nice. I can’t be the only one thinking about this right?

I would like to contribute to the WvW aspect of this bug, as a warrior by dropping down any banners, if you are mid running and try to pick it up this bug stated above will occur. But in my personal experience when I get infinite dodge I do evade attacks, also the only way to get rid of the bug is to die or get stunned. Also building siege and getting on siege sometimes works. I say sometimes because I once got into an omega golem and had infinite dodge (running golem) and I couldn’t get out since you can’t use any skills while under the affects of this bug.

What about black lion chests? Are they going to be updated with new Halloween items content?

I can confirm what Cheetah says is true, truly unfortunate for the handful amount of players that participated in this server event and did not get their promised rewards from champions. I am included. Although we are all glad you changed the champion loot system these problem must be fixed soon
