Lowlands keep in EB. Near the mortar on the outer to the east by the water gate. It is possible to jump around the corner and get past the outer wall.

Currently it seems like things cost a ridiculous amount of money compared to what you get for playing in wvw. Sure if you do a crazy karma train and do supply camps and kill npc events you can make good gold/hour but I don’t play wvw for farming I play it for playing the game. I’d like to see an increase in drops from events to compensate for the fact that in wvw, unlike pve, we can spend an hour+ trying to take something with no compensation for even failing and in the end you’ve spent a gold in siege and earned nothing.

You know what. I think half of the issue of this debate is the point of view of people.

If we look at “peak hours” where everything is even and everyone has the same contribution everything is fine.

Now we move to “off hours” where one side has less people than the others. EACH INDIVIDUAL has the same potential of contribution as anyone else. The issue here is the lack of people to counter the opposing people. In reverse if you have more people EACH INDIVIDUAL has the same potential of contribution as anyone else. The issue here is the lack of people to counter them.

Either way you look at it the individual can contribute just as much as anyone else. The issue is the multiplier of that contribution that we find in the forum of available population on the current map. You do not count anymore or any less for being there, your server is reduced in potential by having less people there.

We could talk about skill next but as a compounding variable that will change constantly we will assume approximately equal amounts for all servers in a given tier. At which case EACH INDIVIDUAL gives the same potential. and again the deciding factor here is the number of people who are present to add their potential to the system.

I paid for the game the same amount with to Canadians. But my contribution counted really low compared to theirs on WvW.

The problem isn’t your contribution, it’s how good you use your potential and the other population. You guys act like how somehow your contribute less because you don’t play at an overnight time. That’s complete bullkitten. It’s like asking for your work to be worth man that the other people you are currently at that time playing against because you don’t field the numbers later. There should be help to take stuff in those hours where you are outmanned not when you are playing because you might get hit for points later.

The only server where you could even say that would be Henge. The others with a heavy oceanic presence were simply luck of the draw.

Everyone has the exact same potential contribution. That is the real problem because say 1 person can contribute one point. But you have 50 people where as the other team has 100 people, therefore you are making 50 points while the other people are making 100 points. It doesn’t go up or down based on time of day, if you decided to drink cherry coke instead of regular coke. Its the lack of people and the incentive to get in and try harder, not how much a given person can contribute.

Now how much of that potential people use is player dependent.

This is my suggestion :
Number and level of guards and lords inversely proportional to the defenders numbers.
That means that if most defenders are not in the map the level and numbers of the guards and lords get increased. In this way the enviroment should prevent small groups to conquer all the territory in few minutes , or at least it will take longer to get all the structures.

This but with added spawning from the start to go help push back on out of spawn and at least take back the closet supply, tower and keep.

Changing the time between tics won’t change anything. Sure the overall numbers themselves will be smaller but if you normalize it to total possible gains you still end up with the same percentage. The time it would take you to make up the amount would not change at all we just wouldn’t see 100k blow outs but rather 10k blow outs with the the overall scores are also a tenth as big. (this is an example but I did the math a while back when I thought the same thing) It would however greatly increase the incentive to cap at the last second because even though the other team held the position for an 59 minutes, they lost it at the last one so it doesn’t count.This doesn’t solve the problem it just makes the cap at the last second meta game that much stronger.

The solutions have to be to give people incentive to play at all times and assist those that are outmanned better. Playing with the point system will only trivialize those that aren’t in the Americas (north and south) if Anet went the way of making points worth less over night, I myself would stop playing even though I’m a NA player because that kitten is just not right.

Well Mr. Peters. Your information is insightful and I look forward to the changes you have in store for us. It’d be cool to have a much better showing in w3.

People need to relax and let them decide how they want to fix these things. Yes it’s crappy in the short term but lets be realistic this crap doesn’t happen over night. If you don’t want to wvw until that happens then so be it. The game is yours to play until they stop offering the servers to run the game. It is only going to get better. Grab a beer, kick back and watch as the most amazing game I have playing in a decade matures.

So someone in my guild mentioned a system in which at any point you owned more than 50% of the map the other teams would have npcs that would slowly continuously spawn to take back anything that is deemed in the corner of the losing sides. Ie if you are in lower left corner of BL the would push on briar, vale and bay and help get that stuff back for the team that is outmanned, being 1v2-ed or just aren’t doing well in general. They would not push past this point but it would help teams to bounce back.

Obviously there are some things to be figures out but at least it would help those who don’t have the numbers over night push and those who have a lot won’t be bored as much.

I would have to say to make it more competitive for all tiers outmanned should increase battle prowess where as orbs should be something cool but not entirely needed.

Outmanned should be what orbs do now, more health and damage to keep it competitive.

Orbs: i don’t know, decrease costs of upgrades by 5% per orb. Increase karma or gold gains. Something that means something in the long run for those farming and want to conserve gold but nothing that will make the winning team stronger.

I wouldn’t go so far as to say we cannot take anything from you in prime time. That danelon passage is mighty tempting. It is however coming clear that prime time seems to be a bit more about hulking out on defense then trying to push objectives.

I was contesting both keeps by myself. RTL is op.

I believe the reason we left SM was because the lag was so bad that you couldn’t really kill people effectively and really just gave more time for reinforcements to come on. The attack on QL was meant to pull you guys off of SM because it seemed more logical to give it to ET then SBI. At least that is my understanding.

I do think it’s complete kitten that you can treb from SM and Garrison completely uncontested. Yes, I know the trick to getting some of them down but unless you can see the base you cannot target them.

I really don’t see the need to buff the already winning team and can see the need to buff the people who are outnumbered to give them a fighting chance. I SUSPECT they will change this after servers start balancing out more and they continue to make changes to wvwvw.

I’m more curious about the ones in SM that normally you could get with a balista but because of the hitbox only being the base of it how that works out. If the put it far enough out I can hit it. If they put it to far in it’s not even worth upgrading the tower because they will zerg it then we hit it back right before the cap.

edit: Don’t really care of it’s hard to get without pushing the kitten out of SM but impossible?

As far as overlook it’s made that way for a reason, they are the third seed for the match up so they get a little help but most spots can be aoed from the ground to kill them.

It’s not so much that they can put them there it’s that they cannot be targeted. As it stands you can take out trebs on the top of SM and in garrison as long as you can target them.

However if you cannot see the bottom of the treb you cannot target it and therefore becomes unkillable. I do agree some places need this like north of garrison so you can take garrison back so you don’t get spawn camped trying to come back. However, when garrison can hit Bay uninhibited and SM can hit anything around it uninhibited then “snowballing” can happen.

Simple fix: make treb targeting the entire graphic instead of the base only.

At least do the high pop servers a solid and turn off transfers to them. This will stop people flocking to it as soon as spots become available.
