My human ranger made to look like Chuck Norris named “I S I S Hunter”. Name was banned.
I fixed my issue by downloading and installing all Windows .NET framework and security updates.
Kudos to Anet’s tech support for frequently staying in contact via email and providing simple yet effective suggestions.
Edit: Just noticed Anet dev posting about a potential fix on their end. Either way, it’s working.

The attached screenshot is the issue I’m having. Earlier on 9/15, when the servers were brought down for the update, the client was closed and instantly after it closed, I restarted it. It then started to present the issue displayed.
I noticed under Account Security settings that there were multiple connections for the same IP. I was able to disconnect from all of them except for one.
I have tried:
- Uninstalling the game and removing all registry entries. (When attempting to reinstall, the installer is creating the same error message. Not sure if the download completes, just seems to download more slowly at the end))
- Flushing DNS and restarting router/PC.
- Installing on my laptop which is on the same network, no issues.
- Installing/updating client on roommate’s PC on the same network, no issues.

Make sure supersampling is not selected in graphics properties and shadows are not on ultra.
In the Nvidia control panel, make sure that power management mode is set to “Prefer maximum performance” and “Single display performance mode” is selected.
Also, texture filtering is set to “high performance”.
Hope this helps.
Thoughts of a graphic upgrade in the future?

I’ve always enjoyed the graphics of this game but with competitors + time on the horizon is there any chance of a graphic/engine upgrade with a future expansion?
OT: Additional Norn male hairstyles would definitely be a plus based on the suggestions which have been posted in this thread. I felt the exclusive ones in the makeover kits were a bit underwhelming.
Edit: Other than that, the suggestions in this thread are good and I hope the styles are implimented at some point.
Adding WXP and XP bonus to creating on / transferring to a particular server may help a bit.
When it occurs, it almost sounds like a half-second long error with the sound card. Like a pop/thud. It has never been frequent for me but has always happened out in WvW to my knowledge.
Same, can’t log in. A friend of mine is having the same issue.
Same here. Found this post via Google thinking perhaps something bugged out on my end.
