Hey, me again!

I’m collecting some nice 1H Sword skins for Holosmith and was wondering, do you think it’s likely we’ll be using a Pistol as off-hand or a shield? My guess would definitely be a Pistol due to how powerful Blowtorch is, plus if you’re playing a DPS build which I will be, shields skills are basically defensive mechanisms…. but then again I’ve heard Holo’s have low survivability so we may need the shield for extra armour and reflects/daze?

Until release it’s going to be hard to say for certain. Based on the preview weekend I would tend to say power for sure. However I can see a case for something similar to a burn guardian as well.

I still think Scrapper is better for sustain, but I only play WvW so I’m biased.

Do you think that it will either be Condi OR Power though? Because I have a full condi set, so could just buy the power set?

I am very close to getting my second full set of ascended armour, but am reluctant to purchase it until I know what stats Holosmith’s will be in meta?

My guess would be power, I don’t see alot of conditions. Atleast not enough to warrent making a decent condi build.

So, what would you say?

Hi all,

So just a little bit of background – I’ve played an Engineer and an Engineer only since the release of GW2. I have tried other classes and just can’t get into them resulting in Engineer is life mode. I have worked my a** off for H.O.P.E and have memorised the condition rotation (hardest rotation in the game) to a point where I don’t even think about it. Now, please don’t think of this as me gloating, I just want to show you how MUCH I freaking LOVE the Engineer class. I’ve played every MMORPG under the sun, but because of the Engineer class I have never even thought of playing another mmorpg in the past 5 years.

Now, I personally think the Holosmith is by far the best Elite spec announcement. I absolutely love it. Engineers have finally learnt to harness the power of the sun and use it to their advantage in battle.

One of the things I loved about the Engi is they were the least played class (before Rev’s came along). I’ve always enjoyed mastering the underdog. So that leaves me to this one question;

“Are you worried that everyone will jump to the Engineer class now and claim it as their main just because of Holosmith? I really don’t want to see thousands of Engi’s coming out the woodworks just because of this. I feel like if they didn’t love the Engineer since day one, they can keep their mitts off the Holosmith!” Lol.

Please take this with a pinch of salt. Discuss!

If you look towards the bottom it says it has a bug for Engineers;
As with other legendary weapons, Engineer skill have no visual effects when using kits.

Then it said this; (The kit bug was fixed to some extend with 2015 Wintersday patch)
Which basically means they added a visual effect for the Grenade Barrage, which is cool, but I was wondering if were going to be getting full visual effects for our grenade/bomb kits as that’s what we use most the time (if you play meta build).

Also, could someone please confirm whether this is actually a bug, or it’s suppose to show only a visual effect for Grenade Barrage and nothing else (apart from when using the pistol itself ofcourse).

Yeah I completely get that I don’t deserve loads of credit because it is an outfit. However, I did spend ALOT of time getting the dyes and weapon/backpack skins right.

I did like the pirate hat on him, but I just don’t see the resemblance to an Engineer really. Felt more like something a thief would wear. Or I suppose a mercenary style Engi.

Just wanted to +1 this.

Since the raid patch yesterday, I have been getting disconnected at really random times. It minimized my game, shows me an error message and then GW2 Client stops responding.

I can’t really complain too much because this is the first problem I’ve had really, but it is really frustrating and I would like some help please.

But think about it, one day there will be Season 2, Season 3, Season 4 and it’s going to just get harder and harder for Anet to allow players to experience them all. Its just part of GW2, and the story isn’t hard to catch up on. Ask some guildies or look on YouTube.

I love the new wardrobe feature, its fantastic. I made the most jaw dropping set on my Necromancer, it involved the old tribal pvp set, the green eyes from the store and toxic gloves.

Then I found out, the tribal set is no longer available and the toxic gloves aren’t being sold anymore!

I understand ArenaNet would like to make some pieces unique and rare, but I would have straight up put brought gems just for the toxic gloves. I can’t imagine how many people would do the same thing for a nice piece of armour, but only to find out its no longer available for purchase.

And the tribal set is one of my favourites ingame, I know its been requested before but could you please allow some way for us to get it? Even if its 100g a piece. Or tonnes of karma. Of shoved on the gem store. I need it!

Please don’t create these beautiful armour skins only to make them unavailable ever again.

Please reply to show your support, if you have your eye on a peice of long lost armour

If someone has constructive feedback about something in PARTICULAR then it’s different. But it’s nice to try and keep a positive vibe in the community. It’s a game at the end of the day. Im not trying to ‘represent’ ArenaNet. People who moan about the game as a whole aren’t looking at the bigger picture. Yes there’s things wrong with the game and things need looking at. But all in all it isn’t a game that’s going downhill as people are making it out to be.

Agreed. For something to be “going down hill” it needs to be worse than when it first came out or have parts taken away from it so that it is worse than when it first came out.

Seriously what has been taken away from this game? Besides MF (on gear) and the ability to farm without DR kicking in I can think of nothing. What has been added that takes away how great this game was at the beginning? I can think of nothing.

People could say ascended gear etc, but that is NOT needed for anything, it is nothing more than an ADDED thing you can do if you WANT to. Time gating is the other thing I see thrown around here and there. Well if you don’t want grinding the only other option is a little time gating here and there. It is NOT grinding it is a way to keep you working at something over a period of time without having to throw in a LOT of work that grinding would normally have you do.

Without grinding or time gating all you have is RNG or instant acquirement of something. Perhaps going forward Anet needs to simply expand on these methods and options of acquiring things or share them around between them?

You clearly haven’t read my post properly. I’m not moaning about moaning or saying people can’t have there opinions. I’m just saying its annoying seeing posts about the game as a whole going downhill or “breaking” or whatever. Because its not.

The PVP is balanced. It’s amazingly hard to get the game perfectly balanced, and I think Anet have done a bloomin good job to be fair. Obviously there’s always tweaks they can work on, but nothing to severe or game breaking. Every class has the potential to be good in pvp

I read somewhere that the top server in the 3 match-ups, get assigned to Green for the next WvW. Is this true?

I’ve been exploring maps for the past month or so to get this world completion, so you need to think twice before posting such rubbish. The reason I made this post was to bring it to Arena Nets attention that people find it frustrating that the maps don’t rotate properly & fairly, and some of us are waiting purely for the WvW to rotate. I love WvW but your right, I don’t play it because of lag. So thank you, for your undermining comments but take them somewhere else

It’s really annoying me that people are just like “It’s WvW your suppose to attack things”. We wont take most of those points ALL WEEK. And I can’t exactly solo attack it can I. So it’s not as simple as ‘’go and attack things’’. It just means I have to wait until we rotate round to that part of the map.

I’m really disappointed this morning. I’ve been going for my World Explorer, and I’ve explored everything but a few spots in Eternal Battlegrounds. Last week the servers rotated fairly so I could get 66% of the map done. And I’ve been waiting ALL week for the too rotate again, only to log on and find out ANet have put Piken Square back one in Eternal Battlegrounds, so now were at the TOP again which I’ve already explored. Which leaves the question how long is it going to be before were at the bottom left so I can explore it?

Really don’t understand why they didn’t just rotate us fairly. Not sure if it was an accident or on purpose

@Abyssmal Shadow – No. Everyone gets karkered every now and again. All I’m saying is I think its a poor design.

I love Southsun Survival, its so much fun. But once players are eliminated they shouldn’t be able to have so much influence on the remaining players. I was in the remaining two, then suddenly I drop all my stuff, get knocked over and two Karka’s spawn and I die instantly. Nothing I could do and I think it is unfair seeing as I had done so well eliminating other players and gathering resources. When he says ‘Only two players remaining!’ it should be a 1v1, not 7 Mist Walkers vs 1 player. It needs to be revised, so here are some ideas.

- Remove the negative skills that Mist Walkers have
- Mist Walkers get to spectate and vote on who they think are going to win, if they vote correctly they get extra points

P.S – Apparently ‘Spectate’ is spelt wrong, but it isn’t, so that needs fixing too.

I’m fussy about what dyes work well together and how my amour looks, and it would be a pain to purchase every dye in the game just to experiment. So to make it easier for us all, I’m going to list dye combinations that people suggest work well together and which class they think it suits the most. However, I could use some advice on a few things. Please do your best to answer my questions!

1. My general grenade rotation is spam 1, whilst pressing 2 asap to keep the 25 stacks on bleed. And also using 5 whenever its available. Of-course I also use Grenade Barrage when its up also. Is this ok or am I missing something? (I put up a turret and use my Elixirs also)

2. The build creator says try and get 25 stacks of might, but I can’t even figure out how to get 2-3 stacks of might with this build! How do I do it?

3. Does a-lot of might stacks significantly increase your damage?

Not complaining about his English, he just used pretty big words & I’m not the brightest of sparks lol.

How can I give specific examples of lag and DC’s? I get it all the time, I get the same error code that millions of other people have posted on here. I’m just stating that I get it too. The more people who speak up the more they will realise its a problem. And this is my constructive feedback, best I got not everyone’s a little PC rat who knows the ins and outs of IPS problems and ports and why we DC and what the error code is and can intelligently post it on the forums.
