Update 12/14: This feature is still coming but due to some unforeseen technical difficulties it won’t be ready in time for the Wintersday build. We’re working to resolve the remaining issues and will turn on the new build advance notification system as soon as it’s ready.
d/c needs a nerf. 1 shot me faster than thieves or warriors.
there are still banks and tp npc’s in all the borderlands. i just confirmed it. i was told by a friend though that theres a bug where people can knock the npc away so far that it wont appear on your map anymore. not sure how that works but right now i see a bank and tp merchant in the borderlands so they couldnt have been removed.
The gyrations thieves go through to explain away their OP-ness is breathtaking.
Thieves have the best single-target burst in the game, the best mobility, and the best escapes. They get to pick their fights, start at a massive advantage (quite possibly winning if they picked the right time), and can leave the fight at whim if they aren’t happy.
Other than that, though, they are perfectly average and not OP at all.

Actually warriors have a higher single target burst. I wont deny the mobility though, thats mostly what thieves are good for anyways when fighting someone who knows how to dodge roll/block.
and against popular belief, stealth isnt infinite unless you spec for initiative regen and play dagger/pistol.
Not saying theyre perfectly balanced, but i dont think they deserve so much hate.
I wouldn’t mind the treadmill so much if I could get the stuff in WvW. It is nice to have something to work towards. I will NOT PvE to get ascended gear though. Period.
In the update post about the Ascended gear, they already stated that they would add ways to get them from WvW later, so just chill for a bit.
basically, if your rating is THAT much higher, you’re expected to win by more, and if you don’t, your rating goes down.
Though i do agree that changes need to be made (whether its changing or removing the buff), i am entirely against giving bonus stats to an outmanned server. This would break so many more things that it would fix if you would just stop and think about it. Its only natural to be losing when you’re outmanned. You can complain all you want about it not being fair, but fact is, it’s NOT fair. Fighting in a 50 vs 40 is not fair, and you should never be fighting on equal terms when the enemy has more numbers than you. Rather than giving us buffs, ANET should find a way to increase player incentive, to join in WvW when there’s a lack of participation
TL;DR don’t add buffs to outmanned, increase incentives to join WvW when outmanned, 50 vs 40 shouldn’t be “fair”.
I can’t agree with you.
Although i agree that theoretically in almost equal forces, the outmanned buff could give a big advantage to the out numbered players, this wouldn’t be correct. Having 10 players with twice the damage is not better than 20 players with normal damage. Two times more players have 2 times more skills hitting, making it way harder!
I say in my suggestion that the outmanned buff should have 2 stages. Mildly outmanned for situations like the ones you say and severely outmmaned for when you are incredibly alone to withstand any type of challenge. Buffs should have to scale accordingly, but further improvments could be made.
WvW is meant to be fun. Not having a challenge isn’t fun. Neither to the winning team nor to the Loosing one! The outmmaned buff is simply a slap on the face to the already handicapped team!
You’re right where having 10 players with twice the damage is in fact, not better than having 20 players with normal damage, but giving those 10 players double the damage of the other 20 players would make it relatively easy for the 10-man group to beat the 20-man group, more of an advantage than there /should/ be, when you have half the number of people. I’d prefer not to go into that too much though.
In all due respect, if you have double the number of players, you deserve to have double the number of skills hitting the opposing players, it SHOULD be harder for the group with less players, which goes without saying.
In my opinion, where the real problem with the buff is that you don’t always have the entire population of the map running around at once. If you have a 5-man group going around capping camps and sentries, and you come across another 5-man group with the “outmanned” buff that gives stats, there’s literally no chance for you to win (considering equal player skill).
Also to your mildly to severely outmanned buff idea, I still stand by my opinion. Giving them ANY kind of stat buff that matters is significant when it comes to close battles or anyone who tries to play competitively.

all them QQ’s about thiefs . its means that you dont have the skill to kill 1 thief !!!!!
thiefs are working just fine keep in mind he might be traided to this trick !!
I play a thief, as far as i know, you have to be at least somewhat traited to be in perma stealth. This is of course, without those culling issues.

this video is from sept 23rd, thieves have already been nerfed since then… get some more updated videos if you want people to take it seriously.
I would disagree that this is an attempt to nerf the stealth ability. I do not feel that the stealth ability needs any change at all. Rather, I feel the mechanic involved regarding the capture of objectives in WvW needs a tweak to disallow stealthed individuals the ability to prevent their capture.

You can literally stealth longer then you are not in stealth with the mechanics right now AND the rendering issue. Is this not broken? okay moving on. .
stealth isnt broken, you just clearly stated that its only broken WITH the rendering issues, which ANET said theyre gonna fix soon.
Keep the code in where if someone kills a player they get a level appropriate drop, but if a level 80 kills a level 80 then the chance of a lucrative drop should be seriously increased, it’s inadequate at the moment.
This would be abused so hard. Get a friend on another server to take off their gear(so it doesnt break) and repeatedly kill them over and over near their spawn;

I think #’s 1 and 2 and 4 are kind of already working as intended.
Every server has one camp that they have direct passage into, making it really easy to defend/re-capture, which leads to the base near the camp being easier to get supplies to.
For the same reason, the bases near the enemies easy to defend camp, are harder to take.
Supply denial and cutting off supply routes are already very important, and people already do this, as far as I’ve seen. This doesn’t have anything to do with the camps. The supplies still need to move from point A to point B, making the supply route the easiest point to target.
For #3, this is purely my opinion, but I don’t think the losing team should have the same amount of supplies as the winning team. Though I don’t think having 0 camps should mean 0 supplies, I also think having 5 camps should mean having more supplies than the opponent, who has 0.

but the whole point of taking the towers is because theyre in reach for trebs to siege the next objective. Though SM 3rd floor does seem kind of excessive, if you decrease the range, trebs would drop in efficiency like crazy on all the other BL.
although i agree that rewarding the winning server with the orb buff probably isnt a good idea, i would have to disagree with giving it to the losing server.
you shouldnt suddenly be able to kill people just because youre losing, you should be able to kill them because of how well you pvp.
if you give the “outmanned” server bonus stats just for being outnumbered, its like telling the server with higher pop. to continue zerging because theres no way you can have a fair fight if the numbers are even.
However it wouldn’t work wit the supply carried by players. Class balance. Some classes would be designated as carriers instantly such as thieves (near 100% time of invisibility with the culling bug + blink with bow) and elementalist’s (ride the lightning – uncatchable). Many other classes would feel useless. Will also be abused by player logging their Mesmer alts and forming a chain of portals to instantly transport huge amounts of supply to any keep.
With this in mind, if this actually gets implemented, I hope that the player holding the supplies has their attacks and slot skills disabled. I mean really, who can fight while holding a crate of supplies..?

i hit 8k on random people in wvw with cluster bomb sometimes.. but not that often… so it must be the random level 2 that im hitting 8k on I would guess..
I’m from TC, and I don’t know about the rest of the server, but I kinda dislike Maguuma without a real reason. I went after every single one i saw, even if it was a bad idea ;D
