@Op, @Kimi and the rest of you feeling the nostalgia seem to forget— That game, as I remember it not only took months to get to the point you speak of, but years. This has been a great start to something completely new.
@Zero, Name one successful competitive esport that is based of a deathmatch model. Nevermind, you cant.
@teknobug, I dont see this population drop your implying at all.

Yeah, I have to agree with this, be it not really an issue that should take priority over many others.
I personally go by the player names, and I think if any color was needed a tabard would suffice.
Generally you do not attempt to down someone in tPvP, without the use of stability. If you don’t have a stability, someone with it, is the person who finishes them. Same goes for rez’s. Your wasting your time, unless the two of you are alone.
Dmg interrupting a rez is just silly. AE would mean no one ever gets rez’d, and every team has AE. I cant agree with adding such a mechanic.
However, downed state skills need to get balanced. Some classes are to strong, others completely useless..
Lmao @ Warmage. Clearly you should add me in game and show me how its done, and when your done showing me how to play, Ill be posting the footage all over these forums, youtube, and twitch.
Ready, and waiting for your lesson sir..
For my last post on this topic..
Again, That screen shot shows something that should not be possible under any circumstance that I am not suffering from stacks and stacks of vulnerability(Even then, it shouldn’t be possible imo).
I do not need anyone’s help here. I understand I can spec FULLY into toughness, use toughness amulets, runes, etc, and lower that dmg, but I would be doing so for no other reason then thiefs. I would be doing so for one reason only. To survive a thief for a few seconds longer.
I also understand thiefs are my hard counter. However, there is no chance to even run in most cases as you can clearly see. In most cases you do not see them coming, nor do you get to see any part of this combo being executed. Your alive one second, and dead the next.
I am also fully aware of the current staff ele, heal/tank spec that would save my kitten in most of these situations. However, I also understand that, that Ele build is ALSO BS, and that the Devs are trying to allow for more diversity among all classes/specs.
I posted this so the devs could have a look at what is possible with the current build, and I think we can all agree, its quite ridiculous.
Again, I am not glass cannon, but I also do not spec into toughness. Yes thats possible, and no im not going to post my spec so you can argue over it. Beleive it or not, I know what Im doing. Its hardly the issue here.
I actually run an invulnerability skill, but this combo in the picture above can happen in a blink of an eye. Yes, like i said, there are times, I actually catch it, and manage to get away with half my health or less.
I generally don’t complain about something that has a “chance” of escape, but regardless of all that. There should not be ANY skill in this game that does that much damage under ANY circumstance. I’m not even close to a cannon spec in this picture.
Again dont get me wrong, I actually enjoy a thief, I even enjoy the idea of this combo. However that is simply too much dmg in too short of time, coming from a class you cant even see coming most the time. You should have to work harder then this to be as successful as this simple combo offers.
Im actually building specs around being able to survive a thief now days, because everyone is running this BS, and I still cant survive it most he time.
You put this BS in the hands of a skilled team, and… UGH.. yeah…
I agree with this only simply because it seems to encourage everyone going Glass Cannon specs in hotjoin, which makes hotjoin simply annoying to play..
Other then that, as long as your support = your team killing kitten in tournys, it equals wins which I have no problem with. I will sacrifice glory for a win in a tourny, but atm this issue seems to not support, support in hotjoin. Which imo has to kill the fun factor for a lot of people.
Example. I dont want to play a cannon, or pure tank, but for leveling my rank in hotjoin, I will play a spec, and or class I dont enjoy for glory..
Day after day, this is how my day goes in sPvP.. I got so many of these screen shots that show the exact same thing, time, and time, and time again.
Yes, i get lucky some times, and get out of this BS with a dodge, or some other escape, but I mean, still… COMON!!

I don’t have a huge money issue, but I am all for lower, or no travel costs. I don’t understand the point of it, when the entire game is basically a gold sink already. I can imagine a person with less time to play then me is ripping there hair out. I’ve already bought friends with casual schedules training books, gear etc, cause they weren’t even close to being able to do it themselves, and they’re not doing anything wrong, they simply don’t have the time, and grinding for ANY amount of time simply for gold is not fun for the masses. I dont mind it, but i’m also aware im in a very low percentage of the population. This seems to be affecting the majority%, and without them we have a unpopulated mmo. Who the hell wants to play an un populated mmo..
Over the shoulder camera on zoom in or better integrated first person.

Im a bit confused why it is you cant just zoom to first person, and farther out for that matter as well..
I did not see that post. If Anet made that statement was it simply a thought or did it go beyond that Im wondering now..
Every time I find a new game I like, I wonder, what happened to the days of Housing. We all loved having our castles in UO, and housing in Daoc blew everyone away with the ability to decorate, rent/own merchants, banking, auction all in one spot. It was.. amazing!
I miss it. Where did it go in games today!?
How cool would something a long the lines of what DAOC did for housing be in GW2? Guild Houses, personal houses, customization, banners, trophy’s, the works.
Now I know there’s lots of other stuff that needs fixing first, and content that will come first, but besides every other suggestion that is already out there, and before I forget to mention it again.
Housing!
I’m also all for this, and was a bit shocked it was not already in game. On more then one occasion I’ve bought something cause via the icon i thought it might be a cool skin, and then was so disappointed I had to just sell it back at a loss. Generally I’ll check wiki, or other places to see if I can find a picture of the skin, but often there are none. Not fun at all..
So lets recap.
Bots don’t effect the economy.
If your smart you can outwit a bot playing the AH.
The majority of the 2 million people here will have no problem keeping up with the inflation, that apparently is not being caused by bots what so ever.
There are people who believe they have more control of the market, and are making just as much or more then botters who generally run 10+ accounts at once 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week.
A level 80 whos been 80 for months can make more then an 80 thats been 80 for weeks by simply farming the same level 80 content.
The more the market gets flooded with items the more expensive they will be.
There is no real issue here, because NO ONE has the actual numbers to prove it.
Got it, you win.
How many “Dawn” greatswords are on the AH right now? How much did they cost last week, how much do they cost this week. If the economy was healthy, and bot free, stuff would be getting cheaper, not more expensive. Generally speaking for the most part.
Keep in mind im breaking this down to make understanding how it works easy for you to all understand. Frankly arguing with anyone about how Bots have a negative effect on the economy is pretty kittenin stupid to begin with..
Yes, im so naive..
(edited by Obi.9365)
It happend just the other day, to one type of greatsword, and this happens with all sorts of items on the AH every minute of everyday, and it is only going to get worse.
Here’s one example of what ONE type of bot, and what ONE person can do to the economy, with only ONE resource being used..
One person buys every single exotic great sword on the BLT, and repost for twice the cost. Your telling me someone that didn’t make use of a bot, or there services is able to do this? I highly doubt it. Now that is just ONE person.. Lets think about that for a sec.. If ONE person can do that to one type of item on the BLT, just imagine how far it can go when you times that by a thousand, and a thousand different resources. What happens when a guy with more money to spend on gold, buys that guys greatswords, and sells them for twice as much again..
Do we really need to turn this into more of a debate? I think its far simpler then your making it out to be.
I just gave you one example, using one type of bot resource(purchasing gold), and using it to by ONE type of item.
It goes FAR FAR beyond this.
Perhaps do some reading up on GW2 bots. Farm bots, BLT bots, etc, and then if you still do not understand what only a few bots can do to a cross server BLT, Ill go into greater detail.
Simply knowing that there are bots out there farming, and selling gold is all the proof you need my friend.. Is it not?
In reply to the 2000g earner. Thats great and all, but you do realize you are a part of a very very low percentage of the population that has been able to do that, and I would love to hear how you actually did that without taking advantage of any of the early exploits..
I cant see the problem with a level 80 race change option. I doubt there are harder, or more quests for different races. Im sure its the same amount of work for either, so there is no point in redoing your story. You are the only person effected by the change, no one else, and the effect is simply you miss out on story line you probably dont give two kitten about. As far as culteral armor goes, just give them the pieces for the new race, that they purchased for there old. Again, same prices, same amount of gear.
I cant think of a single issue if they decide to allow this, they could even make some more coin from it potentially, buy offering a race change stone for level 80s on the BLT.co for 2000 gems or something.
Seems like a win win situation for everyone, players, and Anet if it was implemented in this manor.
Bots have already greatly effected the economy to almost a point that if you dont run a bot yourself, you will unlikely be able to catch up, and be able to accomplish your goals.
Botting needs to move up the priority list now. Its simple as that. If they even dedicated ONE person to do nothing but address reported bots, the economy would be in far better shape.
Ive been farming non stop since early release working towards my legendary, and that goal seems to be moving farther, and farther away as the economy gets ransacked by the effects of bots.
Everyone needs to recognize this, and demand anet take a much stronger stance on this major issue.
I could go on, and on about how its effected multiple parts of the economy, and ‘fun’ factor of this game, but you can simply see the effects of botting in the major rise in the cost of gems in just over a month. from 23 silver per 100, to now over 42 silver per 100..
There is only a very very small percentage of players that can keep up with these prices, and its starting to get to the point where it is next to impossible.
Anet, I beg of you, permanently ban bots, and please move the banning of bots to the top of your priority list. If you don’t see botting as a permanent ban worthy offence, and its not something you deal with ASAP you are taking advantage of the situation no different then the bots themselves are.
This would not be the first game, people have left in MASS due to bots..
I cant see the Guild Bank on any toon, it says I need a guild. I am in one, [BOM] on Darkhaven. I can see guild Chat. I also cannot see our current upgrade being upgraded any longer. It shows I spent the gold in the log, but it appears on the normal list still, with no option to upgrade it again.
