This week we had guild rush (quaggan) and guild bounty, I was not there but my guild reported both working as expected, that means they fixed rush finally, hopefully others have the same experience we had with it!
Now just puzzle and challenge and we will be ready to launch…
This week all my guild got PvE wise was 2 guild treks, I did some tests with guildies help and it seems at least treks are working as intended so far, ppl very close to the circles and those that interacted with the circles got the participation bonus and it was given as soon as an interact was made, so that is one less headache at least. Now to wait for other missions to pop up to test them again…
How many hero points is it requiring? My Revenant took a lower amount of points to max herald like advertised, did some hero points in HoT and had it maxed, before it would only be open if every hero point in the game was done, and I barelly needed all of the ones in verdant brink, most in auric basin and a couple in tangled depths.
If someone does their guild missions can they confirm if the bugs were fixed here please? My guild will do them friday at the earliest only.
It seems not, those are 2 quality of life fixes that were pending, not bugs, seems like they are completely ignoring the bugs in guild missions. Only if they actually fixed them but did not write on the notes, which would be weird…
If they are not fixed, I’ll make a separate topic for every guild mission type, maybe that will help get their attention since they say to make one topic per issue to better assign them.
Hi, can we get someone to fix guild missions, or at the very least acknowledge the issues happening? They have been broken ever since HoT and the new guild system came out, and we already have a pretty big ignored thread at https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Guild-Mission-Bugs
First, it has been way more then 3 days as this issue is happening since the launch of HoT.
Second, the missions for my guild, in the pve side at least, were 1 bounty, 2 rushes (wolf and quaggan, the 2 most bugged ones) and 2 puzzles, so they clearly have not takens notice, if they did they would cap the missions to be just bounties and challenges that are less buggy and at least give credit so far, maybe even treks since those that interact at least always get credit.
How on earth are guilds supposed to complete the rush? The guild that starts the rush gets the reward. Every kitten guild in existence gets the same missions each week, so there are at least 10 guilds at any given time doing the rush. Good luck trying to activate it for your own guild. Why did you make and instance for challange and puzzle but not for rush? Our guild won’t do missions anymore until this clusterkitten is fixed.
In theory, you can rush with another guild and accept credit at the end if at least 15 from your guild complete it, I believe. Since rush is bugged, good luck getting that to work. If Anet would be so kind to tell us any workaround it would be terribly useful.
Maybe we should be making new topics instead of replying to one that is being ignored for a long time now? Is that the proper way to get someone’s attention and get an answer?
The first step in fixing a problem is admitting you have a problem, we need to hear from someone this is at least being looked at!
These bugs are making guild nights no fun anymore.
Im not sure they understand how big a blow this is to many guilds.
As far as Im concerned – raids – squad ui – even the new legendaries – they can all wait. This needs someone’s full attention right now. The night that most in my guild look forward to the most has turned into a logistics and buggy disaster.
I also miss guild nights, missions WERE the best thing to do with your whole guild, they were even the whole reason I actually joined one, now they are just a nightmare to get working that they are not even being worth it.
The rush to shove such an important feature as a second thought in the new guild system was definitely the worst decision someone had, they should have never meddled with it if they didn’t have the time to properly do it and just upgrade the system when actually ready.
We need one of the two things at the moment:
- acknowledgement that this is being worked on.
- set of rules that determines who and how they get the rewards for participating
Having to run missions every week for past few years, it would help termendously if I’d be actually capable of getting everyone their reward. At the moment we as Leaders and Officers of bigger guilds have tons of complains and questions that we have no answers for.
PLEASE WORK WITH US ON THIS.
I second this, the most important thing is for someone to drop by and say they know about this and are working on it, but to have any kind of workaround while a fix is not in place would be excellent.
Since they released HoT they made this big deal about how guilds are important and made a new guild hall and stuff, but then capped how we can play as a guild by closing up guild missions, limiting them, and rushing the new guild mission system with A LOT of bugs that have been ignored ever since, it is clear how little they are caring about them.
For me the last boss phase triggered, I activated the rift, and it just disappeared. The boss took no damage, the rift went away for good, and no more mobs spawned, the boss was waiting for the rift activation forever. Luckily for me, even though the boss was invincible “to all but rift damage”, my guardian GS skill 5 (binding blade) still managed to VERY SLOWLY damage it, so I managed to kill him like that and get to my ending after a long time using it.
Honestly, I think the issues with Guild Missions should be fixed ASAP since they are available now!
While we all are looking forward to raids, since they aren’t available at this moment I don’t feel like I am missing anything. It is very disheartening to complete a puzzle or race and not get a thing for doing so!- An acknowledgement of these issues and that they are being worked on
This would help a lot. I worry that raids, being a more external newsworthy item, may be taking more focus than they deserve right now.
I can also guarantee that if, on day one, raids have the same loot issues were seeing in guild missions right now, the devs will be all over it. The bugs with guild missions should get the same level of attention (more given they are a more immediate need right now).
Well, actually it might be a complete different team working on raids and on bug fixes so one thing wouldn’t influence another… but then again, we have no acknowledgment that the issue is even on their targets, so they may just be ignoring it fully so far.
This happened to me a few times to, bumping back to character select screen and entering the game again makes the item appear in the inventory. It is really scary but at least it is not permanent
The worst thing is that guild missions worked great before the update for HoT, and have been undeniably broken ever since without any word from anyone that they are at the very least looking into it. I miss having fun with my guild doing these.
Bumping this because my guild is also having these issues, yesterday we couldn’t even complete the rush because only 6 people in total were actually transformed back from the wolf form even though everyone else was running back and forth, some standing still, all around the end flag.
This needs fixing ASAP, the new system is very bad for limiting our missions choices and cutting out on variety (at one point we got 3 rushes to do in the same week!), but to even do the missions and have they not credit is very aggravating.
I tried it first, last, and in the middle, did not work in any way. It is working now though, after this last patch, so thanks to whomever fixed it!
I tried to craft some of my charged cores into lodestones today, the recipe is:
- 2 Charged Cores
- 1 Bottle of Elonian Wine
- 1 Pile of Crystalline Dust
- 1 Mystic Crystal
However, when I put the core in the mystic forge, the pile of dust does not highlight. Setting all the ingredients on the MF also does not work and I cannot forge it.
Tried with molten core, crystal core, and all the others, they all work in place of charged core, just the charged one doesn’t. Does charged has a different recipe or is this a bug?
FYI, this bug has always happened since the skill has been implemented, so I wouldn’t hold my breath for any fix anytime soon… I for one live in a region with bad internet and it is VERY hard to use that skill at all, I always look for alternatives that don’t use it since they are more reliable, when I do have to use this skill, i usually die a bunch of times trying to get it to go to the right place, it’s like rolling dies…
I can confirm that you get the achiev as soon as you talk to the last survivor, he does not have to make it back. If you step near enough the lab area, all survivors immediatly die where they are, so if you want to guarantee you actually talked to them all, walk back around and check to see if any skulls appear on the minimap. If not, then yeah, it is still bugged.
It worked for me after the second update today, but since there is nothing about this achiev on the release notes, don’t know it it was fixed or if it was just random dumb luck that made it work this time.
The scaling on pavillion is wrong. Yes, it should encourage ppl to split up and get all bosses at once, but the way it scales up, it punishes ppl that want to help other bosses by making them way harder to beat then it should.
It should scale seamlessly, so that when you defeated your boss, going to help another boss wouldn’t make it more of a chore then if you didn’t go. Also, if ppl decided to zerg, they wouldn’t kill all bosses in time, but shouldn’t spend 4-5 times the gold time just to get them all because they have that much hp now.
It sort of works the way it is now, if you can get a server with about 60 random people from any random server you join organized. Impossible to do usually as random people from anywhere are hardly ever inclined to hear one crazy guy shouting the “right way” to do it.
I have completed it on golden a few times, by joining a guild doing it for the server, but I still think its unfair scaling the way it is.
As the title says, I want to suggest adding “Upgrade Extractor” as random daily rewards, just like the bank, TP express and perfect salvage kits are right now.
For one, since the wardrobe system entered and we cannot use our transmutation stones anymore, Upgrade Extractors are the only way to remove runes that are on karma bought equipment now. They are not salvageable. I ran into this problem while purchasing a new aqua breather, gonna have to get a new rune or shell out 25g or more to get 250 gems for one because of that.
Second, it’s gem price is lower then other daily reward (BL salvage kit), so I don’t see any problem with it, and would be an useful alternative since the stones have been taken out.
They announced it on a different thread complaining about this, they were supposed to put the bonfires back on today, although that was delayed, and they would be without the boosts, and they will remain until may 28th as said. Just to give my 2 cents on the matter of res rushing:
I understand it was not a planned mechanic at first, but there are a lot of bosses that 1 shot people a lot, and ressing takes so much time and leaves the ressers vulnerable that it is not that feasible. Might not have been planned, but it seems many bosses were balanced towards it. As such, I do not agree to such a mechanic without first having most bosses balanced. And another thing, it is VERY annoying when someone dies and can’t be ressed so he just has to wait there while everyone else battles (like when someone falls into lava during a boss), not to mention boring.
Also, this fix is a problem for other areas of the dungeon that are not bosses. For instance, while trying to do CoF path 3, at the long bomb line, people die a lot. After someone gets to the top of that, he starts getting attacked by the turrets, which engages him in combat, and makes it so no one else can res to try to run the bomb line until the turrets are gone. It is impossible to res people in the bombs way, so there is no way around that.
If you really insist in locking people out of boss fights after dead, I would suggest placing them behind a closed door. When the boss battle starts, the door closes and even if people res, they would not be able to rejoin the battle. Or better yet, make this cant res mechanic only work when in boss battles. As it is right now, I personally just find it annoying and frustrating, definitely less fun to do dungeons with.
I had to post at this topic, as i have as well felt the hate. My main character is a Charr, and it took me quite a while to complete the puzzle. All the way through, i did get a LOT of complaints, that i simply brushed off, for the simple fact that, after that initial stage, everyone left gets enough space between them so that my size will not matter any longer, so the people complaining are just angry they are falling too early and trying to blame something.
After i completed it on my Charr though, i went back in with my asura. I was curious if maybe i really was getting in the way. There were a lot of norn and charr on this try, and the answer is, no. Simple as that, the problem with the asura is that the camera seems to be a little closer, so the jumps seem different, but the size thing, did not bother me, at all. I then completed with the asura, and went back with all my other chars, norn, human and sylvari. Believe it or not, it was a lot easier with them. Completed with 2-3 tries each.
You see, the Charr is kinda harder to jump with as it is kindda hard to say precisely where he is stepping, sometimes it seems you are at the edge of something, but you really arent yet, so you wont make it on a long jump. With the asura, there is the camera thing i mentioned. The rest, it was just following the script, same camera as the charr, easier to tell where i was standing.
tl;dr: People complaining are just looking for excuses for their own mistakes that make them not make it, just ignore them and be friendly. I managed to help a lot of people while doing it and even made a friend on the way while we were helping each other. The puzzle is a lot of fun!

So, in Gendarran Fields there is a skill challenge NPC that says you can either do the pirate polka or fight it (krakka the brain). I wonder if anyone found out how to do the polka yet? I’ve tried all the commands I could think of, nothing seemed to be of any effect.
I hope it gets patched with the update on the first of October. I contacted support, and pretty much they said “too bad it happened to you, you lost those tokens and will never get them, just try again”, which simply sucks. I understand the time it would take to fix this and give people the tokens they missed would be great, but it was their mistake, they should take the time to do that.
For the time being though, just warn people you know, dungeons explorable mode are broken, do them at your own risk. Just wish they would make an official announcement with this kind of stuff, I would have waited to do this dungeon if only i knew.
I just did, for the first time in my life, the Ascalonian Catacombs dungeon in explorable mode. We did not clear it fast AT ALL (like 2 hours), and when we finally arrived at the ending and defeated the Howling King (the last boss of the branch we chose), 2 of us got the wrong amount of dungeon tokens. I got 30 tokens only, while my friend got only 6 tokens! And i repeat, first time we were doing this, ever.
How do i recover those missing tokens? Should i just contact support?

Story Step: Lv 70, greatest fear. Was following the fear of death of an inocent and it skipped at the battle of the fort trinity to the one to kill syska or something.
Update: Ok good news/bad news.
Good news: we found and fixed the problem with the story stalling out when you meet Trahearne.
Bad news: it won’t go live until the 10/1 update. (So 10 days to go.)
I’m also looking at the problem with the docks stalling out, bad AI behavior, and a few other misc issues.
Small question here: Will this also fix the problem of the storyline changing during The Battle of Fort Trinity? For example, I picked death of an innocent, did Breaking the Bone Ship, but during The Battle of Fort Trinity everyone talks about the Krait Orb as if I had chosen the suffering of others, leading to Liberating Apatia for the next quest.EDIT: On second thought, nevermind. I just checked again and apparently it was already fixed. Or maybe I was just confused because it happened with my first character.
This, however, happened to me. I was doing it with a friend that also picked death of an innocent, and when we were finishing the quest, a bunch of stuff that made absolutelly no sense at all started happening, which later i found out was the path for another fear, the suffering one, where we went on to kill a mesmer. Will this be fixed? Will i get another chance to re-do this and see the story i was actually meant to see, or will it only fix on my personal story log?
