I grew very tired of Orr very quickly. The mobs are just not fun or interesting to trudge through and when I’d kill 3 or so, I’d be stuck having to fight newly spawned mobs. As others have stated, veterans are just a pain. Hell, even simple ravagers are annoying due to the crazy damage their wands do.
Restoring items after account cleaned out?

Not right now. They are working on a rollback feature to be implemented later.
The same thing happened (with the exception of being left my equipped gear for some reason) to me that happened to your wife. I have the same reservations your wife does at this point and have not played since the incident. I don’t plan to start a new character, either, until the rollback feature is implemented for fear of getting hacked again.

Account Roll-backs/Replacement Questions [merged]

I filled a ticket, but now I’m reading GW2 still doesn’t have a roll-back system in place, so my question for a roll-back in the first place is kinda like a joke to the support department since I read here that nothing will or can at the moment, be replaced. So basically i’m screwed and I probably will have to start all over. I don’t mind, there are bigger problems than a game, but i’m very disappointed That they don’t have a roll-back system yet. It feels like Final Fantasy 14 all over again, where they didn’t wanted to implement an auction house and couldn’t do roll-back either too…
I know how you feel. I got wiped out at level 80. I was left with 5 silver and amazingly my equipped gear. Everything else (with the exception of karma and miscellaneous items, like one stalk of asparagus, 1 mithril ore, 1 wool scrap) was taken. They even took my bags.
I was able to get my account back quickly but there is nothing they can do about the lost gear. I do not blame Arena Net for getting hacked. I am disappointed there was not a rollback feature implemented sooner because my interest in the game was killed when I got ripped off. I can only afford to teleport to lower zones, can’t afford to repair gear, can’t buy salvage items for the level (not that it matters since all of my mats were stolen), and I had my dungeon tokens stolen (which are not fun to grind for). My guild has offered to help out but I don’t want to be a charity case.
Part of me wants to create an alt or try to rebuild my 80, but without some kind of rollback feature in place, I don’t even want to risk getting wiped out again.
I’m at a loss. What is offensive about the term amputated?
I can understand other curse words being censored but this really doesn’t make any sense.
Oh also enemies becoming invulnerable when they have no way to attack the player. Also very annoying. This should only apply to certain enemies, not the random easy ones out in the open world.
I really hate that mechanic. I noticed it when I was above a mook, raining grenades on him, and he was instantly regenerating. Really lame.

To me, grenades are the best way to deal damage as an engineer and pretty much make the other kits feel obsolete. I like the utility of the elixir gun and the idea of the flamethrower, but if I need to kill, grenades are easily the best bet.
I’m not a fan of underwater combat either. Unless I’m using a grenade kit, it’s tedious as an engineer. The respawn rates are very annoying. In Orr, trying to complete underwater events is very difficult when attacking X pulls the aggro of four mobs and by the time they are dead, new mobs have spawned.
My biggest gripe is the “swim to the surface” mechanic. It seems pointless swimming to the surface just to be attacked and killed at the surface. It’s nice we get a shot, and I certainly shouldn’t get myself into a position where I get swarmed underwater, but it’s just implemented very well. Maybe if we had more powerful or useful abilities that we didn’t have to wait 5 seconds to be active, it would be better.
They’re doing the best they can. That rocket boots water glitch was far more important to fix than the busted traits, unfinishable events, stupid mechanics, etc.
I’ve been encountering this problem since day 1 and it has gotten really old. I just watched a veteran risen brute regenerate up to full health twice on me.
This is why I won’t even bother with the Claw of Jormung (or whatever he is called). Last time I ran it, the game didn’t register enough damage and I got completely shafted out of loot and experience. It was irritating because I did do damage and I was reviving other players. I died a few times as well, so I had repair costs and teleport costs. To not get anything left me bitter.
Since then, I don’t see any point in participating in such events if it’s not guaranteed I’ll get anything for my time and effort.
Has anybody had any success in PvE knocking enemies off ledges to their death? I’ve tried and they always seem to hit an invisible wall.
I’ve tested it numerous times with my flamethrower and ram’s head and the enemies don’t go anywhere.
Is this a bug or is it a design flaw?
I’m all for healthy breasts, so count me in.
It’s not a bug; it’s a design flaw. The issue has existed since the beta. It’s hard to believe it’s a bug at this point rather than a poor design decision to disable autoattacks on all kits.
Level 80 Engineer. Currently, I’d say I’m at 6/10 for happiness. Trying to raise crafting levels is frustrating, dungeons are horribly tedious and often feel cheap, the later areas of the game lack polish, a large amount of traits don’t work, and there are bugs everywhere.
Unfortunately, my interest is fading.
I have never understood why the flamethrower doesn’t apply burn with every attack (other than blowout and smokescreen). It does not make a lot of sense. Fire burns, right?
Additionally, I still lament the loss of backdraft in favor of smokescreen. That ability was amazing. I envy the Flame Legion mooks that still have the ability.

“I pray to the animal spirits but they rarely answer.”
I am so, so tired of hearing that.
If not for the gear, I don’t see the point of running dungeons in explore mode. They aren’t really fun and are just a slow slog through overpowered mobs.
I don’t know if anybody else has noticed, but my grenade kit automatically unequips after awhile. It happened to me consistently yesterday.
This issue has existed since the beta. It’s not a bug so much as a design flaw.
I think they should reduce the Turret “auto taunt”. Mobs seem to swarm the turret as soon as you lay it, getting destroyed nearly instantly. It works well with the Thumper Turret though, which turns it into a neat emergency tank. But for other turrets, I think maybe reduce the aggro a bit. Just my 2c.
I completely agree. Most of the time my turrets last all of 3 seconds before being destroyed. That and the absolutely infuriating bug where turrets attack invisible targets instead of the mobs has really turned me off to them.
I ended up abandoning turrets in favor of elixirs. They are far more utilitarian.

I completed the task. It was greyed out. There were not any more undead around.
There was no check-mark though. The mission just bugged out. Everybody was alive. The demolitionist just kept saying “hi” and other generic statements.
I see Tower Down has been mentioned in the forums before as buggy. I just played it during my lunch break. I completed the tasks of destroying the three towers and clearing the beach of undead.
Nothing happened after that. There was no further green star to indicate what to do next. There was no dialogue. There was nothing. I ended up leaving the instance thinking that may help and now it says I have to replay it.
Understandably, I don’t want to waste my time on it until I know it is fixed. Now I’m in the position of being unable to complete my personal story.
As to my information, I’m a level 75 Human Engineer playing on Gate of Madness.
I’m glad it’s being looked at. It was a total waste of time fighting Jormund (or whatever he is called) for no reward. It was even worse considering I was there destroying the crystals, breaking the walls, and blasting him with rockets.
Good: The Story
Good: They are challenging…
Bad: The only reason they are difficult is because the mobs and bosses are cheap with ridiculously high hitpoints and damage. It’s artificial difficulty.
Bad: Worthless NPCs in story mode. It’s hard to see why Destiny’s Edge is considered so great when they don’t do anything but die and advance the story in dungeons.
Bad: The loot. I have gotten some decent gear but find it very irritating when I open a chest and find 1 COPPER. Also, it would be nice to get a different award for a change rather than the same hat I’ve gotten in the tomb, manor, arbor, and now embrace. The experience is nice but I could level up faster and make more money just doing random quests.
Funny you should mention Dark Souls, because that and Guild Wars 2 are the two games I’m playing at the moment.
Anyways, I disagree. While Dark Souls can be very difficult, I don’t find it to be anywhere near as cheap as Guild Wars 2 dungeons.
- New trait Glacial Heart: Critical hits with a hammer have a 50% chance to chill your target for 4 seconds. This effect can only occur once every 45 seconds.
45 seconds? Way too long of a cool-down to be a viable trait pick.
I’ve used it for defending spots against various mobs when other players are around to draw heat from me. It’s been very useful but I ultimately find the supply drop more useful due to being able to stun enemies and draw some heat off of players with the turrets.
This happens to me a lot. It’s quite annoying.
I use it and really like it. My favorite memory of Save Yourselves was in Ascalon’s Tomb near a bridge and necromancers. Everyone got hit with fear so I used Save Yourselves. I then proceeded to walk right off a cliff…
