I never really thought I wanted a cosmetic glider until today. I saw someone with that raven spirit glider and it’s something that I really want for my ranger… my main. Would be awesome if it’d show up as a late bday present!
Any current guides? The ones stickied on top are rather old at this point…
Those are the two I was thinking would be the hardest, and those are the two that I would like to have at 80. Now to figure out which one I want to avoid the grind on.
What’s do some people find the hardest profession to level? The one that just took them forever? I already have three level 80s and now I’m looking to which is the class that I should use the level 80 boost on.
I was wondering if it’s worth it to craft Zintl’s Shaman Armor? And if it is, what class is it best for?
Just returned to the game, I haven’t played since LW Season 1 ended. I currently main a lvl 80 ranger; I am looking for a guild to get back into the game. I want to do PvE content mainly. I am also leveling a guardian to refresh myself to the story and go through continent I haven’t seen before. I desire a casual laid back guild that understand that real life takes priority to any game. Hit me up on here or in game, character name Barley Jack.
I haven’t played GW2 since shortly after Scarlet was defeated. Recently I jumped back in one rainy day and I had fun (so much that I ended up buying HoT). I’ve always played casually; I was never involved in WvW, PvP, Fractals or Raids and I think the reason I quit a few years back was because it got kind of lonely. I’m looking to get into fractals and raids and maybe some WvW in the future and I decided to come here and ask for advice.
I’m currently on Tarnished Coast and I have a warrior, ranger, and necromancer at 80 (of these three I enjoy the ranger the most) and I was looking for anyone in the community that is friendly and can help me get back into the game; or a guild that might be a good fit for a returning casual player that is looking to try aspects of the game that I haven’t experienced in the past. I am on Alaskan time zone, really weekends are the times I play and a few times during the week after work (making it 9-11 EST).
I’ve also noticed that there have been many changes to the world and the game and the mechanics, etc… I decided to start a new character (guardian) to refresh my memory on the story and learn about all the new things. If there are others out there starting out or restarting give me a shout out and I’ll level this new one with you. I feel like the guardian is a class that I could get into if I stick with it, but I like running around on one of my level 80s to experience HoT and get the higher tier crafting materials.
I hope this community is still as strong and friendly as it was in the past. I’m looking forward to GW2 again.
7/10 for Cioradh
9/10 for Maemrin, I like that one. Sounds good.
Mine are Barley Jack (ranger)
And Paetunia (thief)

Donari, what coat is that in your picture?
Second time around as a Ranger and the first time I’ve really tried the sword… Level 18 now (I know, not too far long), but I love the main hand sword. It just feels like it melts faces and I haven’t even unbound the auto attack on “1” yet to control it more… I always shied away from it before due to the fear of not being able to dodge, but I know now to just hit “2” if I want to dodge, just need to time it right before I’m getting really low health (I feel it works well if you just relearn to dodge when your health isn’t as low as it would be on another profession). Plus, I reserve my two normal dodges, if I have shortbow as alternate weapon (which I always do) I have yet another dodge… Running veterans and multiple foes today (and some champs minus the huge zerg), I’ve felt like I’ve been able to maintain without an issue and this is the first time I’ve run at such a low level without the bear as one of my two pets…
TLDR; I love the sword, “2” is my dodge and I melt faces…
I played ranger from day one… Loved it for awhile then listened to these boards and abandoned it due to all the doom and gloom.. Tried every other class, needed an extra slot so I deleted my level 58 ranger… Quit the game for awhile came back and tried the other classes but I felt like I needed my ranger… so i re-rolled him two weeks ago and absolutely loved it… My only complaint is that if I kept the original alive he woulda had his birthday and I wouldn’t be stuck at level 18, I might be 80 by now…. Love the ranger despite the hate… My advice is ignore the forums, they just make you second guess yourself when you shouldn’t…
Haven’t played it in some time, I haven’t reached 80 yet due to being an alt-oholic. I play casually on nights and weekends and mostly want to PvE. Eventually run some dungeons. The two classes that I am looking at leveling and sticking with are either the ranger or thief. Any advice on which I should chose to focus on with PvE and dungeons being my choice of how I like to spend time?
Also, I’ve never been active in a guild. I am on Tarnished Coast and am looking for a guild that os casual and PvE focused that doesn’t get upset if I’m not representing every moment that I’m online, if any knows of a guild like that please let me know.
Hi,
I played GW2 from early head start up until like a month or so ago, I liked it but I never found anyone to play with. So, I quit. I have a level 50ish Warrior, a level 50ish Ranger (which I hate), a level 10ish Mesmer, and a level 10ish Guardian. I’m trying to get back into the game but everytime I log on by myself I just hate it… so I’m looking for some people to play with. I really want to either play my level 10 Guardian or my level 50 Warrior…. Those are the 2 classes I think i’ve enjoyed most. I’m on Tarnished Coast and I am very open to RP… just as long as it’s not force one me (i.e.: You kneel before me while I do whatever and you do this…, I hate that, just natural RP is what I’m looking for). A bit about me, Im in my early 30’s, I’m in the Army and I just kinda use video games to unwind a bit… I’m not hardcore, unlike most I dont care for shooter games, I just don’t want to emulate that when I’ve done it… so I enjoy exploring and finding fun kitten in a RP game. So if anyone wants to start off a new toon and join my guardian, or if anyone has someone around 50 and wants to join my warrior I’d appreciate it. About my playstyle, I’m very casual… mostly friday evening and saturday morning through whenever? I’m on East Coast time… sometimes I log on during the weekday evenings, but not much…. to much RL stuff going on. My Guild Wars Name is OriginalSki.3908, my warrior is Mary Choppins and my Guardian is Lois Pain. Hopefully I find some good peoples to play with.
So men’s ers hare easily more powerful but necros can dish it out if played right? How much more of a challenge is it to play a necro compared to a mesmer and how would you rate the enjoyment of playing each class?
I’ve searched but can’t find an answer to this that really applies to me… I want a class of each of the three armor types… Have a warrior that I love (but need some time away for her) and a ranger that’s just ‘mehhh’ to me… So for the light armor I really can’t decide. I keep making new toons and taking the toon to around level 15 then delete and try another. What I want to focus on is PVE and dungeons, haven’t really gotten into PVP yet. So I’m looking for a light armor class that is fun to play in PVE and dungeons and actually brings something to the group. I’ve tried all three and can only say that I can’t pick… Like I said, want a good light armor class to enjoy PVE and dungeons and be beneficial to a group plus able to solo if I don’t have the time or desire to group at the moment.
Sorry for another ‘what class should I play thread’ but I’d like some feedback for others out here as to which light armor class is enjoyable and desirable in PVE
Scarlett O Scara
The hard mushroom jump in dreamdark enclave can be done with ‘Blink’. Tried it today after many attempts and was pleasantly surprised… Afterwards I felt like I had cheated…
Hey. Love this game, reminds of wow back in 2005. So I’m an alt-a-holic and because of that I haven’t really been able to meet many people on one toon. But I think I’ve finally decided on the character I want to level. Just looking for people in game to socialize with and run some PVE content.
I’m very casual and laid back. Just looking for others to play with

Additional Comments: I have other alts, so might be on Barley Jack or Scarlett O Scara at times
I agree. It should be addressed… I understand the Devs preventing names such as “ohMiGawD-kill@aZ”. But we should still be able to develop the names we want…
Please allow us to add special characters to our names on American servers… I would like to make an Irish sounding surname by adding a ’ to it… But for now I can’t. All I can do is make a space and it just looks wrong….
(And if it’s not possible on other servers you should add it there too)
I’m in the same spot as you. Have tried them all and after taking a month break from the game I can’t decide between the two…
