Is my power supply unit crashing my computer or is it Guild Wars 2 at fault?

I’ve purchased CyberpowerPC rigs before and the first thing I always do with them is replace the PSU. Don’t bother RMAing it because they will just send you another crappy stock PSU from China that will break down within 6 months. Good PSUs are really not that expensive these days.
So I’m only rank 5 in spvp but I bought a gold rabbit reward box for 1k glory. I opened it up and got 3 exotic pieces that my profession (ranger) cannot use. What exactly am I supposed to do with this gear?
As a ranger that likes to run around like a chicken with its head cut off during combat, I find myself downed or dead in dungeons more than my melee counter parts, particularly guardians and warriors.
That could just be speaking to mistakes in my play style, but still.
It’s still not nearly as bad as SWTOR’s awful, lifeless and static world.
Despite every zone being a square, the world still feels very connected and alive. And the only time you notice you’re inside a big box is when you look at your map.
It’s entirely situational. As a ranger, I go with shortbow/axe+warhorn for dungeons. Shortbow for single target DPS and the axe/warhorn for AOE damage and multiple target pulls.
Take a break. It’s very easy to become burnt out on any MMO if you play it too much. When I find myself getting bored I play LoL or NHL13 on my PS3. Eventually I miss GW2 and log in and find myself having fun again.
As far as I know, transfers are still free. And no, there is no way they will charge Aussies money to switch over to the Australian servers once they are opened.
What I’d like to see is purchasable skins for your pet in the gem shop. Imagine a bear/arctodus with heavy war armor on.
Hell, an entire armor system for pets similar to the system that was in Warhammer for the White Lion class would be cool too.
Signet of Renewal is your friend and I find it to be more than adequate.
Also spec deep into Wilderness Survival. As you said the brown bear can remove a condition on you and all conditions on nearby allies. I think it could be an awesome ability with a slightly lower CD.

Take a break. I took a 3 day break from the game and it helped me appreciate it much more.
I agree. I was speccing my ranger for condition damage and by the mid 40s it just wasn’t cutting it. I switched to precision/power instead and haven’t looked back since.
GW2 is about how your gear looks though. All the sexy, aesthetically pleasing gear is for the higher levels and it’s all either very expensive or very hard to obtain/craft.
Make waypoints cost karma.
I have more karma than I know what to do with and the complete opposite when it comes to gold.
The arguments against a Dungeon Finder are specious at best. There’s vastly more reasons to put them into the game than to not have them.
Level 80s who would use the dungeon finder instead of being subjected to spamming map chat for hours would still be farming Dynamic Events all around the world for mats and karma.
With that said, I’d rather see ArNet allocate its resources to fixing the dungeons and making them better than they currently are before they begin working on a LFD/LFG tool.

Our rifle spells basically consist of short range shotgun blasts and knockbacks. Wouldn’t it make more sense for the warrior, with his heavy armor, to be the one getting in close and using shotgun abilities while the engineer supports with his turrets and long range rifle abilities?
I think it’d vastly improve our damage and give an option to the players like me that think all of the Engineer kits are boring or just plain suck (especially the flamethrower).
I’m in the same boat. I’ve got a warrior, a mesmer, a thief, a ranger and a guardian. The thief and mesmer I love in pvp, but really do not enjoy in pve. The ranger I love in pve but hate in pvp. The guardian is fun, but not the kind of class I’m used to playing in MMOs (tanky support) and really can’t see myself sticking with it. The warrior I find to be strong in both pve and pvp but something about the class just bores me after 20 minutes of play. Dunno why. I tried elementalist and necro and really hated both by level 10. I think I’ll probably end up deleting my warrior and rolling an engineer, even though supposedly it’s a class that needs a lot of work.
Despite all this I still absolutely love the game. I just wish I could settle on one for good.
Engineer doesn’t exactly have a melee option, thus balancing this out.
What needs to be addressed first:
Game optimization. As it stands now the graphics engine is a joke and completely borked.
Face to face trading. Why this wasn’t in the release despite tons of people asking for it during beta astounds me.
Preview option on the TP. A lot of people buy armor to collect skins. Again, why this option wasn’t in the release astounds me.
Dungeon finder. Find a group for a level 30 dungeon which is in a level 1-15 zone is beyond aggravating.
Reported.
And you’re right.
IMO there can’t be too many guardians. They have an incredible amount of utility and strength in both pve and pvp.
Thieves, warriors and rangers are probably the 3 most played — not necessarily in that order.
Shotgun and rifle need to be differentiated in this game more than anything, IMO.
Engineer “rifle” skills are an absolute joke, while the warrior gets the rifle skills the engineer should have.
I found ranger to be weak in pvp and rather useless in dungeons. Thief is top-tier in pvp and difficult to play in dungeons.
I’m assuming they will add items for the back slot that include quivers (much like how engineers get that backpack).

What a complete joke. Fix your terrible graphics engine.
Right now I’m using an AMD FX 4100 OC’d to 4.6Ghz with an HD 6850 (also OC’d) and it’s the absolute pits. PVE and SPVP are for the most part playable (constantly fluctuating between 35-60 FPS) WVW is absolutely unplayable.
I’ve seen plenty of people using the 6850 for this game and getting normal framerates in WvW and I also know the 4100 is not a good CPU for gaming, hence why I want to upgrade it over the video card.
I don’t want to spend over 200, so I’m either looking at the AMD FX 8150 (even though people are telling me to stay away from all FX’s) or an AMD Phenom II X4 965 (roughly 50 dollars cheaper).
Thoughts?

CPU for sure. The 460 is more than capable of running this game.
I’m in the same boat. PVE and even SPVP is playable for the most part, but WVW is absolutely unplayable.
GPU usage and CPU usage never go above 60%.
I’d say Mesmer.
My thief is level 25 and I really have no desire to level him anymore. PvP is alright (despite the fact that you get focused hard) but PvE content is outrageously boring as a thief. With a dagger in your mainhand you push 2 buttons, 3 at max, before your target is dead.
The thing about GW2 is that you will never feel like there are too many people playing your class, or you shouldn’t if you do. I used to feel that way when I played my ranger. I’d think to myself “wow, there’s too many rangers in this game” and then I’d log onto my warrior instead. 10 minutes of playing warrior I’d find myself thinking “wow, there’s too many warriors in this game.” So I’d log onto my Necro. So on and so forth until I finally decided to stop caring about class density and just stuck with what is most fun for me.
The only class I’ve noticed a distinct lack of is engineers (which I understand, I played one to level 20 and I really disliked it).
Thanks for the replies.
Paulus, that’s exactly why I asked.
Ranger DPS falls off pretty quickly while leveling. By your 20s you will notice a pretty significant drop in damage. At least I did, despite speccing properly and wearing appropriate gear. Also, pet AI and function is extremely wonky right now. Your pet either doesn’t do what you want or it dies within seconds. Not to mention pets in PvP can mostly be ignored and/or killed instantly (this seems to speak to an inherent problem within the pet system itself, as Necros have this same issue). Despite this, rangers can still definitely hold their own in PvP due to their high mobility, but their function in high level dungeon/PVE content remains to be seen. Mesmer seems to be in this same boat as well.
As for warrior, it’s probably the most well rounded class in the game, but you will probably get people in this thread telling you that melee combat in this game is broken, which you yourself already pointed out. To a certain degree, it’s an accurate assessment — I don’t know if ranged is favored, but melee combat certainly offers the most challenge in this game as of right now, and in order to be an effective warrior (unless you are going rifle/longbow) you must maximize your dodges and rolls. Or you can just go greatsword with Deep Cuts/glyphs and just two shot everything like most warriors seem to be doing right now.
As for elementalist, you always run the risk of being two-shotted by pretty much anything while at the same time being able to two shot anything yourself…except in PvP. If youre planning on doing mostly PvE content, by all means, roll an elementalist and have fun. In PvP, however, I only see elementalists getting owned left and right.
If you’re looking for a class that does very well in both PvE and PvP, I’d suggest Guardian. Their only downfall is their complete lack of a decent ranged option, which you may find unattractive due to the state of melee combat right now.
And possibly even server forums?
Is there a timetable to any of these?
Thanks.
I wanted to play a female Norn, but their running animation is awful. Same with female humans. I know it’s trivial, but my OCD kicks in while playing as a Norn or human female and seeing their bad animation. It completely ruins my game experience.
Despite their interesting combat and running animations, Asura and Charr do not do anything for me aesthetically so I don’t play them. I don’t really like the male Norn running animation either, nor am I someone that is enticed by their huge size. That basically leaves me with human males, which is what my main and 3 alts are. Boring and pedestrian? Maybe, but it’s the only way I can stay engaged with this game, at least until they possibly fix the running animations.
