Hidden pistols toolbelt just too good to pass up.
If you try to pistol whip a target that is far away, and immediately steal after you pistol whip, you teleport next to the target and hit them.
Not sure if intended effect, but pretty cool.

Leveling in this game doesn’t really require any guides.

Do some crafting.
There is no one best way to play. I know that’s hard to get used to if you’re coming from older MMOs where everything is min/max, but learning and trying things yourself will make you improve much faster than copying someone elses’ playstyle which you don’t understand.
It’s also targeted. You can select your precise arrival location (with the utility and shortbow skills), and in the cases of many they have an unlimited return 2ndary that also breaks stun.

Anti-bot measurements should not affect a regular player. However this affects even people that do not play hardcore all day long.
Playing for 50 minutes and resting for 10 is good gaming practice anyway. Arenanet is just looking after your wellbeing and health ^^
GW2 is very CPU heavy. A top end GPU won’t do much better than a middle range one. I only have a GTX 560, but I manage 80-90 fps thanks to my i7.
I wouldn’t find if they added a few seconds onto the out of combat regen timer, personally.
That’s only the case with low level armor. I’d like to see your replace your exotic and legendary gear by vendoring them.
Repair costs are fine. Right now people are still using gold to buy stuff. Eventually, you’re going to run out of things to spend your money on. In the mean time, die less.
I do think repair costs should be lowered in WvWvW though.
Yup. The single hand 3rd skill is just filler for new players that’ll help you get used to the more “advanced” ones.

They are fine as it is.
S/D would be perfectly fine if they fixed the pathing on skill 3. As it is right now it is completely unreliable. The other skills are fine.

If they just removed the cast time to make it functionally the same as the other venoms, I’d be happy. Right now it’s only functionality as an emergency stun is undermined by the fact that I’m useless for 3-4 seconds while I apply it.
I second this notion.
The problem with this is that many people like to use travel skills like leap and shadowstep while in town to travel faster. Doing so automatically reverts you into combat mode anyway.
P/P is significantly weaker than other weapon sets because of how insanely good unload is with combo fields.
If heartseeker and death blossom spam are the only two strategies you know how to use… well maybe it’s time you considered playing a more child-friendly game. I hear Sims3 is pretty fun.
Nerf is irrelevant to players who were using the skill properly anyway.
I could see abusing the heck out of this with my shortbow…. Especially in Eternal BG jumping puzzle. It would make it extremely easy to kite enemies throughout the entire puzzle, or even on castle wall corners.
Obviously gaps across jumping puzzles would be unshadowstepable.
Dual pistols are meant to be used in conjunction with an ally, preferably an elementalist with a lot of fields. You have no idea how unreal combo stacking is with unload.

But yeah they have done a fantastic job. I feel like I could tank some fights as a thief but not in the traditional sense of tanking, but evasion and blind tanking
Champion mobs with unshakable are a pain in thekittenbecause you can’t blindtank. They are also a lot more fun.

Anyway, heartseeker’s been nerfed so this discussion is moot.
The two major issues with S/D are that:
b) Flanking Strike is unreliable.
This. For some reason Flanking Strike moves relative to you rather than your target, so if you’re facing an odd angle (which you usually are if you’re strafe meleeing), then chances are likely that you’ll go shooting off in a random direction and miss completely.
I think this is a latency issue. I have autoattack on, with the mug trait and I never break out of stealth when I steal.
Pray tell, how you expect to dodge instantaneous skills across a server with latency with “reaction”?
There are certain gaps you can shadowstep across, and others you can’t.
My guess is that Anet fully intended shadowstep to work across gaps you can jump across, but the pathing ai that determines whether a gap is “jumpable” is a bit screwy atm.
Hoping they look into it in the future.
