i came here cause I saw Red posted but i was really disappointed. Really? Any necro can tell you without hesitation what that pics means, no questions asked. This mob is Immune to our attacks… nothing confusing about that.

BTW there is a few other mobs that are like this. There is also mobs that consume conditions and heals it self.

My account was banned for botting / extended AFK. As I mentioned in my support ticket I did not participate in this type of behavior and would never do anything that would jeopardize the investment of time and money i have put into my GW2 account.

I received a email yesterday that said the following:

Thank you for your support request. Our response is included below. If you have other questions, please reply to this e-mail.

The thing is that the email, nor the online ticket has any kind of response in it. I know we are just coming of the weekend and you guys had a host of other issues surface during the weekend that you had to prioritize. I hope you can make some time to look at my ticket, I’m really starting to loose faith in getting my account back.

I received and Email from Support that Said that an answer to my Ticket was included below. Thin is there was no answer on the ticket. I also checked the support site and there was no answer there. attached a screen cap of the email. Ticket number is 121012-000109

An update on my Ban, I received a reply from CS, but that reply did not say anything. And my account is still locked. Please see attached screen cap. Ticket number is 121012-000109

@Red.2986 I don’t think the two are related. From what they explained the later bug was confirmed and only affected people since friday afternoon. In my case or probably your as well is different. I got banned i think back on wednesday or thursday.

Hello Kentaur, I have the same problem and been dealing with it since Thursday night, the only think i can tell you is to wait because so far that’s what i have been told/done as well. It suck but it is what it is. Good luck and I hope you get you account access restored.

@ Mike it seems then that my account was not part of this bug? im still getting the banned notification upon log in.

I agree KorKor this hole experience has been one of the worst i have had in the 20 10+ year of my MMORPG playing time.

And still we are here with no ETA on when this will be fixed.

I want to say one Name in this bunch I know would never modify the game. However there are 3 names in the bunch that i personally reported all 3 with screen shots I have posted and 2 with videos in other thread. Before crying poor me and submit a ticket look back and think if you exploited in some way and also remember anet are humans humans make mistakes. If your innocent all will be right if not… your screwed.

This right here. This is why Anet Cannot reply on the public to be doing the policing of bot. You get the Hall monitor effect. This is probably why most of us got banned because of trigger happy people reporting other just because said person think he is not the bot reporting expert.

Putting in the ticket is Difficult but worst is the wait time, going on 30+ hours and i have not received any kind of reply from CS.

From reading the post and having the problem myself. It seems after downloading today’s patch you can log in and play. If you log out and then try to get back on you find yourself banned. There is an error in the patch… something they modified and didn’t change their security to accept… now the patch is being seen by their anti-hacking software as a hack.

I think there is more to it, before this there was report of people getting banned for Botting. The fact that they have a process that will lock people out automatically with no human intervention is bad. If they are going to put such systems in place then they need to also make sure that they have the needed support personal to help in cases like this.

I’m sorry to hear that this many people are being affected by what seems like a false positive on A-Net anti bot detection software.

I bet you some if not all of you are sing some kind of hardware gaming pad or multi button mouse like the g600. I am using a combo of both the Nostromos game-pad and the Logitech G600, I barley talk on any game chat (my guild uses mumble). I have had issues in the past in other game with this same setup. In Aion I was approached by a GM who literally follow me around and purposely talked to me to make sure i was not a bot.

I hope Anet get these sorted out because this only hurts the true customers. meanwhile the real botters are in game laughing it up.

After Reading this thread i noticed that a lot of other people got bans similar to mine, I never have used any botting software or macros. I hope you can make some time to look at my ticket. Thank You.

Here is the problem, with this vigilante technique. There is no way that a normal player can tell if somebody is a bot or not, many people including me are being served bans because some trigger happy player decided to report us as a bot.

Anet needs to do their own active monitoring and have proof of botting because in the end all you will en up with is a problem where greifers are going to be able to exploit the bot reporting tool.

As I mentioned in my OP the ticket has been opened, I did do what the nice person told me. My statements above are just a suggestion, not mewling after all this is the Suggestions forum no?

on a side note and to add to my suggestion, it would be nice for Anet to notify the accounts being banned via email of the Ban. The way things are done now you do not find about the ban until you actually log into the game. For people that travel as part of work or people that play the game casually this practice makes the experience of getting banned erroneously even worst.

Erroneous bans might happen, specially since the game is so popular an being actively targeted. At least make it easier to recover from these blunders.

A lot of ban-related messages in most MMOs tend to be generically pre-written at first, often times with no reason attached to it (mostly as a time-saving measure to get the basic message across); but if you can get in contact with some in the Account Issues forum, they can usually investigate and see why you were banned.

Today I was greeted by Permanent Ban message when I logged in. My Heart literally dropped to the floor, I for sure tough that my account was hacked and that somebody was running a bot on my character. After changing the password on the account and going thru my checklist of things to do after an account is compromised it suddenly hit me…. There is no way my account was hacked, my password is unique and very secure (I used caps symbols and number in a Phrase) and my account password was never changed! i still had access to my account.

So the only thing I can deduce is that I was indeed banned for something I did not do. I have never used any botting software, I have never used any software that allows me to have an advantage over others. If i am guilty of anything is using Combat mode for a few days, but dropped it once I noticed that the lines where blurred when the legality topic was brought up on Reddit.

With that said if the ban was for combat mode then ill take the ban and move on. What I would like to know is why was I not notified via email that my account was banned? Why was I not given any kind of explanation as to what happen? I find this very unprofessional.

Furthermore why isn’t there a vetting process to make sure that the bans being handed out are actually legit, deserved bans. To me it seems like my account was flagged at one point for what ever reason and was throw into a bucket of “to be banned accounts” then when Anet did their big 3k account ban they just slammed the book on the accounts, no questions asked.

Almost 200 dollars and two Cupcakes invested in this game and this is what I get? Anet you made a great game, a game that set a new standard when it comes to MMO’s but I have to say that your handling of this particular case leaves much to be desired about your customer service. The Support Ticket is in, and the ball is on your court, I really hope you guys rethink your way of doing these bans because in the end you are going to loose a lot of good customers.

Guys i logged in today to find that my account was terminate due to botting. I have never done any kind of botting or used any macros. What gives?

Great stuff, I want to experiment with Necro melee as I have always played it as a range class only i guess its time to research some dagger builds.

On a side note, is dagger also a Power dependant build only?

No sure if this has already been suggested but what are the chances of a name change service? i would not mind paying a few Gold.gems for the option to change my name.

This, I am also looking for Axe build for PVE and Dungeons. I found a few threads here and in other fan sites but for some reason they all link to GW2skill.net which has been down for almost a week now.

Also Since Axe benefits for +power build would it be wise to go all the way into Wells?

You are so right about people using DS as a get out and survive trick, i was one of them until i started learning what does happen when you are in DS. This is a Great Post thanks for sharing this info.

all very good Ideas!I specially agree with Some of the things SirMoogie pointed out. You always win in this game!!!! there is no Loose none of the DE’s are failed, they just get steamed rolled. It would be nice to one day log in and see that i have to recaptured one of the zones because it was completely overrun by mobs while I was away.

I love what this Mod does and i really hope that Anet looks at it and implements it exactly how it is on the mod. If a independent modder can do this 3 weeks after the release of the game i do not know why Anet cannot do the same……
