Looks like I wasn’t the only one to receive the repair notification though.

Heard from support today, nothing earth shattering, just a few basic trials to rule out a couple of options (Checking connections & the like).

On launching the client tonight it updated & before the game launched proper, a message popped up saying that errors had been detected last time the game had run & would I like to repair them. I did & have not been able to repeat the issue tonight. Will try again in a day or so just to make sure.

I had run the repair function previously & it’d not picked up anything, so maybe something was ironed out in the update?

Oh yes, got that & the request for the data dump, just nothing not automated yet.

Given the issue, I’m not really expecting a particularly quick response.

Kinda, more two GPUs built into a single card, so it only takes one slot.

Primary display is set in Window to be the landscape Monitor.

never had an AMD graphics card, but I assume there are similiar options for this.
Not that I can see.
I use Display Fusion for my multiple monitor desktop & have done for years now. Never had a n issue. I also don’t have issues running any other games, this is only occurring for GW2.

Deactivate Vertical sync
One of the first things I do with any title. Only gets re-enabled if tearing occurs. Pretty rare these days, and when it does, it’s usually more a sign that the video card is dying.

Before you go into “Windowed Fullscreen” mode in-game, set the Refresh Rate to “Default”. Then activate Windowed Fullscreen
Another setting that is always set thus.

disable DVR in your Xbox app.
Did this quite some time ago in an attempt to eek a few more Frames out of Battlefield 1. It made no difference as the app wasn’t even functional before I opened it, but its definitely off.

I’ve been playing GW2 since a few weeks after release. Had a few strange issues relating to Dual GPUs on single PCB video cards vs Motherboard BIOS over the years (resulting in crazy low single digit frame rates), but nothing quite like this.

My partner also plays. She runs an Nvidia mid range card & hasn’t had any issues. I suspect she may also not have applied the Win 10 Creators Update, which I’m beginning to suspect is part of the problem for some reason.

Without any additional information, it will be impossible to provide help.

Win 10 64, Up to date as of this week, so including the Creators update.
16Gb RAM, i7-4770K CPU, AMD 7990 with 17.5.1 drivers, 64 bit GW2 exe running on a dedicated SSD, Windows installed on WD Black HDD.

What is happening to me is I load into full screen and then it blinks black goes to desktop and blinks back to full screen and that is the cycle over and over again

Once I have fixed it back to the main screen at the correct resolution mines does the same thing 3 or 4 times loading to the Character select screen, which it never used to do previously. However it doesn’t continue on like yours does, it will eventually load.

Just opened GW2 again, after leaving it for a day or so. Normally it’d be back to the issue above, but I didn’t change back to Windowed Full Screen after messing around on the weekend & it opened without issue, beyond flickering a few times.

I’ve put a ticket in for this, but I thought I’d post here too, just in case someone else has a similar issue.

I run two monitors, one 1920×1200 in Landscape & another at 1920×1080 in portrait. I run the game in windowed full screen on the Landscape 1920×1200 monitor. I have had this set up for years & never had an issue running GW2.

Since the patch that brought in the last living world content, when I launch the game it displays as a box covering a little over half the screen. It can’t be stretched to cover the rest of the screen. when I go into change the resolution, the 1920×1200 option isn’t there.
If I select another resolution close to what I want, the game display swaps to the portrait monitor & flickers between a predominantly black screen & the desktop beneath it.
Once it’s here, I can’t do anything more with the game, can’t access options, can’t do anything but close it. Relaunching it produces the same result.

I have tried blowing away config files, repairing & a few other fruitless things. Nothing seems to make a difference. The only solution is to disconnect the Portrait monitor, launch the game, then reconnect the monitor, but that isn’t a long term solution as it reoccurs after a day or so. It is driving me insane.

If anyone has any thoughts on what the hell is happening & how to fix it, I’d be keen to hear from you.

I have the same issue.
Sometimes the delay will mean I’ve hit ‘Deploy’ a second time only to watch the glider belatedly pop out & then disappear again.
Just logged in to see what my Ping is, usually to USA/Europe it’s around 300-350+, at the moment it is 0 and not moving.

Been a lot of connection issues the last few weeks, but very little communication about them.
My partner is on her PC next to me about to have a fit because we got all the work for the weekend out the way & now she can play her little heart out…except she keeps getting DC’d or can’t log in past Character selection.
There may be blood if this keeps up…given my proximity to her, I fear it may be mine!

If it returns, what is the make & model of your motherboard? Is it reasonably new?
Had a similar sounding issue recently myself & went through everything you described, with brief periods of thinking it was fixed.

I’m finding that there appears to be an issue where using an aspect power results in my death. Not because I’ve missed where I was aiming & fallen, just as I use a power to do something relatively basic.
The platforms that step upwards from the Wind aspect guy, today leaping from the 2nd to the 3rd killed me. I hit the button to jump & ended up dead on the platform right where I was standing.
The later, collecting the crystals from around the Lightning aspect guy. Jumping up for the Crystal on top of the upright bamboo pole. Perfect landing on the top & then, BANG, dead on the pole top!
I am entirely capable of killing myself here, I really do not need assistance!
Anyone else having this issue?

I’m not exactly young, have Telstra ADSL2+ from Adelaide & I managed to do it eventually.
It did take a rather concentrated effort to do so. I could not tell you how many times I failed, but I did it & have done it again since.
For me, I found my characters with passive speed boosts did it easier than ones without.
My Engineer was Captain Fail every single time.
Once you have done the initial platform section that leads to the outer side, you can get away with jumping from pillar/spout to pillar/spout & ignore the floating platforms. Get past that & the rest isn’t too difficult.

I got one after a very concerted effort of farming several hours a night over a few weeks.

Running as Admin got my game to patch & load (Finally), but once in it keeps losing the connection to the server & dropping out.
My net here is fine, so I’m assuming they are getting hammered at their end?
