Honestly even if they returned drop rates back to “normal,” they would still be pretty bad. GW2 drops and loot in general has been the worst I have ever seen in a game.

I don’t mind that they are dropped but why account bound? The chance of getting the skin is slim already, now if I get one I don’t want, what am I supposed to do with it?

Just wanted to say thanks to all the devs at anet. Personally, this recent patch has fixed a lot of problems I have had with the game, mostly rewards from dungeons and champs and rewards from scaled down zones. I can’t wait to get in-game and try these things out.

One thing I really don’t like is that I feel like Anet just didn’t try on some of the light armor headpieces. I mean what exactly is that growth on the side of your face wearing the male exalted headpiece? Why is there such an abundance of tiaras and masquerade headpieces?

Love the tower. Hated it at first, but once you get the hang of it, it is fun and rewarding (get loads of trick or treat bags)

It was frustrating, challenging, and I enjoyed it. Plus, you get a guaranteed exotic at the end. I hope for more fun AND rewarding content in the future, I really enjoyed the tower.

To me GW2 is a huge mess of conflicting ideas. They want you to go back to explore lower level zones with the scaling feature (which is cool), but waypoint costs, xp, gold/karma rewards do not scale. I feel like this game would be a lot better if the level cap was 20 like in GW1 and the majority of the zones were level 20.

Me and some friends eventually did it….after 2 hours of trying. It was incredibly difficult, and I don’t even remember how we did it, probably pure luck. A big goal though is to always kill the breeders and stun them before they spawn more. If it makes you feel any better, that is the hardest part of the dungeon, the boss is stupid easy…….

As far as the mechanics of the drop system is concerned, Flannum says “It’s more of a badge system, so this is something that we did in Guild Wars 1 as well. Our basic philosophy is that you should never complete a piece of content and get something you don’t want. So it’s going to be the case where you go through and are guaranteed to get a piece of gear that you didn’t have before, and that you’re going to want.” So, you’re guaranteed to get a piece of gear every time you do a dungeon? “Yes.” Sweet.

The OP brings up a legitimate problem and all he gets is troll posts from fanboys. To answer the question, they have said that they are working on fixing this problem with getting credit for events. However, I wouldn’t feel too disappointed anyway, I normally just get crappy blue items from boss chests.

Time to take a break?

The OP makes a legitimate point, loot in this game from bosses and dungeons especially is very underwhelming. As fun as the dungeons are, I’m not going to do them 50 times just to get the loot I want, and not be rewarded at all along the way. People can troll all they want, but this is an issue with the game right now.

I’m not looking for gear for myself specifically. I already have good gear through crafting. What I’m looking for is SOME type of decent loot from boss/dungeon chests that I can sell or salvage, as of now I feel like I’m not even being rewarded for doing these events save a few crap blues.

I’m not talking about “grind for loot.” I’d be happy getting a generic rare every once in awhile from a boss chest/dungeon chest, but I literally never get anything substantial, it’s always blues. The same goes for the random champion mobs, why even kill them?

I think the problem is Anet made really likeable characters and then killed them off at Claw Island and replaced them with bland Trahearne.

Is it just me or is loot really underwhelming? Of all the dragon/temple events I’ve done, I have never gotten a rare/exotic from the final boss chest, not once. I normally only get blues and maybe 1 green that I just salvage/vendor right away. The same for the dungeons. Besides the tokens, I’ve never gotten anything substantial as a drop except maybe a rare jewel. Considering dungeon weapons/armor take hundreds of tokens, this is pretty disheartening.
The funny thing is, it seems the only times I get rare drops is from random mobs that I kill, it is never from bosses or boss chests.
Anyone else have this problem, or is it just me?
