The changes were great, in my opinion. The added stability makes melee so much better, when it was quite discouraged before with the whole “Pirate Ship meta” That was just stale. Been having much better fights, and I think 10 is a good max. Good work, imo.

Hi, I’m perfectxshot! I’m the guild leader of a very long standing PvX guild(mainly on Crystal Desert) and we are looking to recuit many more members! We’ve been around since the first 5 minutes of headstart, but have recently been rebuilding our ranks. We accept anyone and everyone that would like to join us, this means veteran players, players that just came back, or players that have just downloaded the game a few seconds ago. We aim to have fun as a guild in any constant, and love to teach if need be! We are of course, fully upgraded and have over a million influence awaiting those guild halls in the expansion. We use mumble as our VOIP and have a handy dandy website(pm me in game for it). Lastly, we do our guild missions bi-weekly, and content events throughout the week. Transmuting Legendary = Exotic [Merged]

Hi Jason, I don’t think this “transmuting legendary problem” is a bug, it’s just a design choice problem.

Maybe the designer didn’t thought about the combination of legendary equip + transmutation + new equipment tier.

The players only need a definitive and clear answer on this issues:
1) do you intend to upgrade the stats of legendary with the power level of every new top tier? (I presume the answer is yes)
2) do you intend to block the possibility to use transmutation stones on legendary items (I presume the answer is no)
3) do you intend to upgrade the stats of legendary items transmuted onto other weapons?
4) If the answer to 3 is no, do you intend to give the opportunity to players with transmuted legendary weapons to revert the weapon back to it’s original legendary status?

Especially about 4, we don’t need to know when, but we need at least to know for sure if you will or you will not adopt that solution.
I bet most of, (if not all) the players would be happy of at least be able to revert their weapons back to the original legendary stats.

I would like to know the answer to both 1 and 3 of Yareon’s post. Although i wouldnt go back to the old stats (simply because i didnt like them) i would go back if that meant in future patches with the introduction to new, more powerful weapons, that my ‘transmuted legendary’ would get the same treatment of that of a normal legendary, and get ‘upgraded’ to the same stats as the highest tier. The orange lettering i can deal with, as long as there are no bugs like that.

So wait how does that work when you get hacked? Did they actually restore everything you had lost? Is there a link to official policy/statement on this? Have been curious about this. I was told that if you file a support claim immediately you get everything back, but your post seems kinda vague as to what they actually did for you.

You must have been hacked after December 1st and I was hacked on the 22nd, so i got nothing back. And i re-opened my ticket to try and get just my bow back, but theyre unable to as they “dont have the tools”. I made this post as a suggestion for compensation for those (like me) that lost all their hard work, and have to tough it out and go for it again.

you’re asking for….9500 gold? Thats what Twilight is going for anyway. The problem with monetary compensation is that it makes the assumption that what the player is going to immediately use it on is the items that were lost . This of course would rarely be the case do to human nature .

hahah, no im not asking for that much, and i did see that guy asking for that much. My legendary when i made it probably cost me around 700g or so(not counting everything that cant be bought with gold of course) but i could care less about the badges, skillpoins, karma and such. Also, i do see where you come from when you say that they may not spend it on what they had before, and i can only speak for myself when i say, if i were to get that gold back it would go directly into my bow, and id get it again, i miss the hell out of that thing :/

Way back on the 22nd of November i was hacked, put in my ticket and got everything resolved. Of course i came back to my account with nothing left of value left. I then waited for restorations to come out that were unable to help me, then putting in a ticket to just get my legendary back, was also a failure. I was told in the ticket to come give suggestions if i had an idea for a way they could give compensation for those that lost a lot and were “unhelpable” due to the date we got hacked… so here it is:

Personally when i was hacked i was only hoping that they didn’t delete my legendary (as i was able to re-acquire everything that was lost including full exotics, quiver back piece, gold, mats and all). But, of course they did delete my bow, and that’s the only thing i want back. So my initial thoughts were, “If you lost a legendary or a very high price/high time consuming item, then you get that mailed to you”… but that’s unfair to those that don’t have much playtime and maybe full exotic WAS a lot of time for them? So, my new idea is simply gold compensation… just send the amount of gold that was lost for items that mattered… where in my case, i would be happy with only the gold lost by losing my legendary. For others, maybe enough to buy full exotics again…

whatever it is, i would like to see some sort of compensation for those of us that got shafted by the hackers, and the date that restorations went into effect.

Just to say, i did talk with the senior support team for a while and came to an understanding on why they couldn’t restore our accounts, or even generate a simple weapon for me. This post is not out of rage or to take a jab at them for not giving me my item back, just simply posting what my idea was , that in my mind seemed fair… Thanks for reading this if you did :/

Oh come on, you restored Karpuz’s account to a state 2-3 weeks old, I’m sure you still can do that to mine too because you must have snapshots of that period but you don’t want :/
So have I to understand that I’m screwed only cause randomly it has been decided not to use my account for ART beta testing?

^^^This x10 I knew Karpuz cryptic email and the fact that every commander who had been hacked prior to all of the sudden disappeared and stopped posting in the thread.

Cause they were deemed worthy to rollback (well outside of the Dec 1 start). Yet the rest of us get the “Sorry SOL” Karpuz and the others have their gold and legendary back. Thought since they were rolled back when it was implemented I would to…not cool ANET. Haven’t played since I was hacked 1 month ago and I never will.

not so sure about that, ive been posting in there since the 24th(when i got my account back). I lost my legendary, i have commander and golden titles, and i have yet to get a response via forum posts or ticket….so idk where youre getting that info from, but if they did, then shoot, can i have my legendary back too? hahah

We’re pleased to tell you that we are launching our Account Restoration Tool (ART) today. With that tool, we will be able to restore qualifying accounts that were compromised on or after December 1, 2012.

Restorations do not impact guild banks.

Can you use the Account Restoration Tool to restore a specific character or item?

No, the entire account will be restored to its previous state; all progress and acquisitions after that date will be lost.

Seems kind of limited. But hey, way better than nothing. I can’t imagine being one of the folks who has put thousands of hours into the game and lost everything…..I don’t think I’d ever touch an Arenanet game again.

If i wasn’t in the guild i am, and also being the leader of the guild, i probably would have quit today, to see not only am i not getting a rollback (kinda saw it coming), but i probably cant even get my legendary back… its very discouraging, still want to know if there is some possible way that Anet would compensate at least that for players that want to continue to play their game and only ask for 1 item they had to work towards out of the entire account i had to work towards (thought it would be possible since the karkha chest was recreated for some, and now full restorations put into place with a minimum restore date of 8 days after i was hacked… Anything on this Gaile?

Showing some love for those who lost legendaries. Side note: those should not be salvageable/deletable lol

There has to be a way to verify that these people produced them. I couldn’t imagine the frustration if someone lost their legendary this way…

Heck ya, i wouldn’t mine having my legendary be irremovable from me ever after making it… i mean, who would?… and yes, there is undeniable proof that you have had a legendary; just so happens in my case with screenshots etc… i can show just which one.

I understand that a system takes time to be set up to allow for account restoration and that those who were unfortunate enough to have their accounts compromised prior to Dec. 1st will be disappointed to hear this news.

I have to believe, however, that there are permanent records kept somewhere on ANet’s end as to whether or not an account has acquired a legendary or not. Surely an item that requires more time than any other in the entire game deserves to be replaced for those who had their account stolen before Dec. 1st.

I agree 100%, and have screenshots, the achievement, the chest on the front page – you name it… I’d give any proof necessary to get that bow back…

Even though its only one, be glad you’re getting that “1”, or that you haven’t been hacked but may in the future to use that “1”… for people like me that were hacked before December first… we’re just SOL it seems. At least you can go back to where you were before and hope it doesn’t happen again, whereas re-earning my legendary just sounds depressing… would have thought with the whole “giving people free karkha chests even though they never went to the event” would make give some hope of them sending me my legendary… Hell, i would even let them count that as my “1” :/

I read the topic and got immediately extremely happy……but then i read the date, i really missed it by just 8 or 9 days? I was hacked one the 22nd of november, so i really get nothing back? All i want is my Legendary back, i dont mind the rest

When this feature was introduced in GW1, any hacks that happened before it was introduced could NOT be undone by doing an account rollback. It would only affect accounts hacked after rollbacks went active.

With that being the case the chances of you getting a rollback are close to zero. And as Anet don’t have a compensation scheme either, you’ll find you won’t get anything back until rollbacks are active, and even then it’ll only be if your account was hacked after it went active.

ya, a while back it was said that it will most likely be that those already hacked wont be getting a rollback (that part is just hoping with the sliver of a chance, but expecting it to be as was said). Also, seeing them regenerate and send the karkha chest to those that did receive it, makes me hope that if they don’t give us rollbacks, that they’re able to do something of that nature, or maybe just in mail, to give us the few things that took a lot of time to acquire. I don’t mind getting full exotic/runes/sigils etc… back, that’s not an issue, i just miss my legendary and don’t wanna work for that again haha…

When this system comes out to be able to restore accounts, will we be able to get what we lost back as well, or is it gone for good?

That is the big question, and if Anet is unable to restore account lost before this is put into place, will we be given compensation for at least major losses (EX: legendaries, large amounts of gold, etc…)

Anet has stated that its not a problem on their end, but there isnt much correlation to any of us as to HOW we got hacked (shady sites, forum hack, crappy password, etc…) none of that… but ya, they got me a while ago, and i got the same robotic responses, and now its just wait and hope they figure something out, and if they dont at least take the time to help those that didnt get help retroactivly…and i have nothing but support for all those that got hacked, as for right now, we’re just SOL 8(

Makes me sad to read this rubbers, i was hacked back on the 22nd (probably why you haven’t seen me around) and i too took every percaution i could… we dont know how it happens, but commanders/legendary holders/golden title are being targeted, and with no way of getting any of it back rather than…hey go do it again! and it could happen again… right now we’re just waiting for account restorations(which probably wont be retroactive… but they dont have any info(and “very very close” or “near future” has been weeks) so it is a crappy situation…

But since they control certain things, like black lion trading and commendation etc- they could give every proven to be hacked account an I’m sorry token like- 1000 gems, or boosters kits, 500 commendations, and not just go find a heart person and buy cheap karma armor.

Absolutely I’m totally agreed, I don’t think Arena Net will be able to roll back every hacked account and if they still don’t annonce this very soon, players should be supported by eceiving some gems from Arena Net ….

Yeah. Even if they can’t restore an account fully (which is a stupid thing to say – even if it takes a support person actually going in and making manual updates there are ways to do this, it’s totally a policy decision and a “won’t” not a “can’t”) they should take care of paying customers. Hanging hacked players out to dry is just bad customer service, and is something I would expect from a low-tier F2P game, not P2P.

As far as something like gems, boosters, commendations or anything like that…i honestly don’t care about. But, when they do eventually come out with the account restorations, even if i cant get one due to it being a “from this point on” type deal, i would still like compensation for the 1 thing that i actually had to put a lot of time into; and that’s my Legendary(The Dreamer). I can and will get everything that really mattered back pretty fast, but that bow…there’s no way i’m going for it again haha. So hopefully they do put that extra effort in and are able to give me back my legendary, even if i cant get a full restoration… Which by the way, Galie do you have an update for us? I i know, 4 days ago or so, you said you’d have more info on it in a few days …was just wondering.

Since this seems to primarily affect power players, maybe they’re using some kind of third party software which contains a trojan… nobody would admit that of course.

I was one of the players to get hacked, and ive never even been to a 3rd party site…let alone buy from them. Not all people with a lot of gold had to buy it, i just played an insane amount, so it hurts a lot more to lose what you work for, rather than just something you bought :/

well, thats why i said “…and even if they cant restore what was lost, im hoping they will at least reimburse what was lost”. And even if they dont do that, at least others wont be completely screwed over like i was … but im hoping thats not the case…

The only sort of reimbursement I’ve seen them be able to do is gems and system-sent items (mini-rylok pet, emails, etc)

Ya i havent seen anything huge either, i was just thinking that with new systems in place, maybe they could make something happen

I look forward to these restorations and thank you all at Anet for looking into this issue.

The worst in this case being that they won’t be able to do account restorations prior to the implementation of said restoration functionality. Or in other words, they might not be able to restore the things you lost, even if they put in the account restoration tomorrow.

But here’s to hoping that you do, in fact, have the things you lost restored to your account.

well ya, hoping they can of course, but after being hacked, you cant really get anymore low haha, its just the last sliver of hope… and even if they cant restore what was lost, im hoping they will at least reimburse what was lost(all non-account bound items perhaps) guess we will find out when “very very close” happens…

A-net already has our money, and keeping players around will only cost them more money.

Because God knows, no one has ever paid money for gems and then spent said gems on stuff in the store, and then bought more gems later.

Nor has anyone ever shown a friend the game, or even just told a friend about it, and had said friend go out and buy it because of the recommendation. Ever.

There is a hole in the server. I mean come on, it is absolutely the only possibility here. Some of my friends who have gotten hacked didn’t even use ANY guild wars sites.

You’re aware that they can take logins/passwords from one site and enter them into any other site, right? Even if the two sites are completely unrelated?

And their e-mails are still secure.

Or so you think – just because the password hasn’t been changed on the emails doesn’t mean the account is secure. Hell, if I hacked an email account, changing the password’s the LAST thing I’d do, to avoid tipping off the target.

Don’t skirt around trying to BS us. Your servers are threatened. You’d be much better off letting us know about the threat and we can decide if we want to chance it or not. Otherwise, some very important information might be taken – and that’d be on your head.

Totally doesn’t sound like you’re saying “I’m about to pwn your servers. Own up if you ever want to see them alive again, muahahaha” at all. Not even a little bit.

Cyber has good points, even if it did cost a bit to reimburse those that got hacked, or even account restorations that were talked about above, these players aren’t going anywhere if they were to get their stuff back (i know i wouldn’t). These players have put countless hours into the game (myself included with a little under 1,400 hours), and more than likely money into gems as well. Also, another great point is telling friends about the game, and have them buy it. So as i see it, in the long run, giving these players back what they have worked so hard for would be a very smart move on their part.

I’m just asking a ’we’re still looking into this’, nothing much. This silence could also mean they’re not caring, which I hope is not the case, but meh…
