i too have had a similar problem as Demondarkwind. Since patch the only viable build to run for me as a WVW player is all out Zerker or nothing and considering EVERY single class can drop a warrior (its the Easiest class to drop come on now) what are we left with an all our tank build that can not kill a single soul…..
As stated above we are the masters of armed combat i think demondarkwind has a good idea with the adrenaline idea.
What annoys me the most is that i can get on my guardian and deal roughly the same amount of overall damage in around the same time frame as my warrior yet can take a ton more damage and buff the hell out of my allies with a viable build for any situation….

thing it it clearly states INVULNERABLE so why is the person using it still taking damage regardless.

been getting really frustrated being killed through my renewed focus….. Description says " Focus, making your self invulnerable and recharging your virtues" But im clearly taking damage through it from ticks on conditions. Invulnerable is what it is i should be taking 0 damage through it the same as endure pain.

Its an observation from an opposing servers view of things……. in almost every encounter i have in WVW im hit by REKZ not by the other major guilds yeah there will be lik 2-3 others dotted around REKZ but its REKZ none the less…. Hence i feel they are your DIFFERENCE makers…
I’d love to have guys like REKZ watching my back, they are really high coordinated with builds that compliment a team and not just individuals (just about ALL bunkers mind you)

from what iv heard lately KREW have become dragonbrands number 1 skill group how true this is i do not know.

At the time KREW were the super power on BP along with sbzy but the 2 guilds HATED one another and tore the first alliance to pieces. From there on BP has been re building re structuring the way our wvw is run. I personally pushed BURN to the front lines in wvw although were a pvx guild, i enlisted some of the best fighters i could gave them positions and free reign over certain aspects of the BURN wvw but still 50% of our guild are spvp/PVE players that hate wvw lol. My other co leaders i had to “Convince” the direction i was taking the guild would be for the better and it has worked.

The server has really picked up the changes that ive seen because of ehmry are really looking good. the numbers and the dedicated players you have are something to be envious of, if all goes well in the coming months i hope to see BP in the same direction.

I really have no further comment on the subject. If everyone is transferring in mass, my first question would be “why?” and then proceed to look into that problem, whatever it may be. I’m certain it’s more than simply who is winning and who isn’t. I find it hard to believe people would transfer in mass, with heavy gem fees to boot, over something that simple. You’ve got something internal going on.

Oddly, I haven’t seen any decrease in WvW population, as a matter of fact, it seems like we have more now that there was this “mass exodus”. Funny how the game doesn’t reflect the forum.

No offence, but you guys have yet to experience a mass exodus. 15-30 players is a reality check. 1000 or more is a mass exodus.

When “KREW” left for dragon brand they were a 500 man guild and they took the majority of there guild with them at the time + a pretty big % of pugs we had also went to dragon brand
Then there was WaR, an up and coming skill group much like Sekz/Rekz of around 30+ players that decided maguuma was there place to go the way they left was a kick in the teeth as they left just before a reset and all rady knew our plans for the night… Fighting against them was fun but a constant reminder that BP at the time was still growing and those leaving were making way for a new breed of player to follow through.

With AC’s right now being REALLY kittened up, A LOT of peeps just cant deal with the time its taking to re take keeps etc….. Also i think like some have said its gotten stale now and ive started noticing less and less peeps in the BL’s…… =(

i think its pretty cowardly they went to ebay tbh, i mean to me i dont see the point intransferring unless its to higher or lower tier….

I’m not trying to take your towers or keeps, I’m here for the loot. It’s true, sPvP isn’t WvW, but that doesn’t mean the mindset should be specifically about hiding in towers/keeps because of ones fear of being zerged or the structure being taken. This is one of the reasons why the skill gap between Ebay and BP is that significant, I will jump down and fight outnumbered, where as BP will sit and spam AC’s. Justifying “hiding” when you have more people is impossible.

Define OP? I play Mes/Warrior/Guard/Ranger and I’ve never had problems killing other professions on any of them. You could argue thief or mesmer is “OP”, however when if I kill you on a ranger, is ranger OP now?

i could argue they are certainly from someone playing warrior as a main, they are at the bottom of the pile… easily killed in any form.

Define op…. look at DD ele, or Confusion bomb MES… or perma stealth thief… then compare those to say warrior and engi, you can see the gap between the classes is HUGE in terms of damage and sustain. Yeah a warrior can hit X amount of 100b but he is stationary and you have to CC the target… AXE the F1 is awesome but the other skills are a bit MEH… Hammer… SLOW good CC good dmg 0 sustain in almost any build compared to necro ele mes thief even ranger now.

My point is 90% of EBAY use these OP classes 9/10 times fighting any ebay they are either MES, ELE, Thief…. AR they love there rangers lol and BP from my view is a huge mix unless you find guild groups.

Normally you would a point that to win a match you need to defend your real state.

Problem is you get 10 BPs in a tower who refuse to leave vs 1-2 ebayers. Let’s be honest here….that tower is in absolutely zero danger.

That is what facing BP is like.

Generally when you see 1-2 Ebayers they are stragglers just trying to catch back up to the herd. 1-2 Ebayers roaming is a pretty rare sight. What the BP defending are probably thinking is you were just luring them out to be zerged.

We haven’t really learned anything that would help us fight more effectively against AR from the recent transfers. Conversation has been a whole lot more of “Wow, I love how friendly and organized you guys are!” than “Psssst! This is (insert commander name here)’s favorite time to attack. He likes to hit North gate, so we should set up OP arrow carts there first!”

Honestly, the only new things these transfers have brought to the table are compliments and bodies. BP had a commander transfer over by the name of Ugly Fied too. For all the “intimate knowledge” of their server he supposedly has, the only people who have any interest in listening to him are our upleveled pugs.

So yeah, don’t worry about these “traitors” spreading all your secrets. When it comes down to it, I’m pretty sure we know all we really need to about your server and your server knows all that it needs to know about us. After over a month of fighting in the same match-up, we all kind of naturally pick up on the other’s tendencies.

Watch out for that grub.

AR suffers from not having any night presence. Our server now fights former allies that have an intimate knowledge of our server aka transfers aka traitors (good luck to you guys in ebay). BP just knows how to PvD us outside of prime time. While we have just enough to defend, we don’t have enough to be on the offensive to take some pressure off the defense. This was an issue on server reset night. AR fought off two big attacks by two respectable guilds from both opposing servers. The issue wasn’t that we couldn’t repel them. The issue was that we couldn’t staged an attack to put pressure on a ebay/bp borderland. The less a server is on defense the more they have to attack you with.

Outside of the obvious reasons such as numbers and no night crew. The lack of communication among the wvw community as a whole is in direct result to our plug in and play attitude. I think Anvil Rock needs a little Tier 6 to start getting organized whether it be commander to commander, rallying the server, communication guild to guild, etc… Rank 14 was as far as we could get for being a scrappy “pug” server. I believe we could always compete with BP but it would burn us out the way our community goes about wvw. It is almost a race to recap our BL and EB sector in the morning. AR puggies don’t like defense. Good fights all around though! Borlis Pass I think our rivalry will go down as one of the best in early GW 2.

Any guilds that want to GvG 15-25 man hit WAR up. We are looking to kill or learn from other guilds. If this match has gotten stale and we already know 1 of the 2 outcomes then why not train against one another. We need about a 12-24 hrs notice and must be during NA prime time. I think the passive might need to come up in non-healing builds. If I run a clerics tactics build this signet can hold its weight, but it currently has NO place in a berserker build. Not sure it should be as viable in a seeker build, but it needs to see some play in soldiers, and certainly Valk and Shaman builds. Really signets are still going to have a hard time without a stun breaker (particularly in PvP and WvW). Obviously Dolyak signet is the most likely candidate here. Our next balance patch will absolutely be looking at stun breakers and spreading them out on all professions to make more categories of utilities viable. I’ll probably post this in general later as well but this was a larger balance pass and we will likely let this meta sit a bit longer than previous ones while we work towards taking time to push more less effective builds towards viable status.

I wonder if replacing 1 of the god awful passive traits in the tactics line with something that boosted the healing signet effects would be a better way to go? I think it would have a good synergy with a warrior bunker build. Would definitely be better than “fast healer” or “reviver’s might” which are kind of a joke.

standing still??? hell no was fighting an ele at the same time but my point is simple i want my skills on say AXE to do the same dmg as a thief if thats the case, they have initiative we have adrenaline which we either sacrifice a utility slot for or activate a heal to get full. thief just spams buttons and gets the equivilent damage of a crit’d eviscerate… they then follow that up with instant spammable ludacris high hits from CnD or Heartseeker. I generally have no problems with thieves. My POINT is ook at how far apart the classes are in terms of BALANCE they out dmg us and they can survive better than us they dont have to trait full defence to do either 1 or the other.

Yesterday, my roaming friend who had stopped playing for 3-4 month, came back to GW2.

He was rusty a bit, but he wanted to give roaming a shot with his mesmer.

We started having fights with you near Anvil Rock Garrison in EB.

After 30-45 min of skirmish, he was bored already.

I asked why, he replied : “Are we going to fight only 2 class all night long?”

All the time we fought you FTF, we fought Thief and Elem DD. All of them. I think you had 4 thief, and 2 elem.

You had one ranger, and I want to congratulate him for going a different way then all the others. Hold the line man!

Seriously, fighting two class that can disengage any fight whenever they want is pretty boring.

Even when we countered your bursty gank, we didn’t feel like we won because at least one of you guys had SR up, or had sword teleport, or shortbow port, so you would teleport away to your stoenmist. Over time it get boring I nearly switched back to my One Hundred mines build just to one shot your thief (or try, sword are hard to lock).

By the way, I finally don’t think the Mug nerf was as bad as annonced after last patch. I got comboed to dead once yesterday as I had all my escape tool on cooldown.

Checked my combat log, I got hit by C&D for 7.3k, backstab for 8k, and heart seeker for 7k. I was travelling with 2.3k armor (kinda low but still not GC) and 23k HP. I don’t imagine much people could survive that without bursting a cooldown. And I don’t think a 5k mug would have been needed.

K, you saying bout the damage from that thief i was hit yesterday on my warrior which i run a tanky build on was hit for a series of 8k+ backstabs along with 7k C&D then 4-5k+ heartseekers lol the guy downed me 3 times i think before i managed to kill him….
think its time ANET wake up and do somin bout thief they have way too much going for them lol

I think the passive might need to come up in non-healing builds. If I run a clerics tactics build this signet can hold its weight, but it currently has NO place in a berserker build. Not sure it should be as viable in a seeker build, but it needs to see some play in soldiers, and certainly Valk and Shaman builds. At the same time i think you should take a look at thief overall Damage i play warrior and guardian mainly, my current warrior set up is designed to be extremely tanky and sustaining…. now if i run a full on zerker build with GS as a main weapon my biggest overall hit so far has been 26k thats with 100b frenzy so im stationary, where im likely to be blinded fear’d stun’d etc to stop the hit and thats after i have caught the target and either knock down or immobalized. Now this is way im saying thief damage is way to high i got hit yesterday in several hits by a thief he downed me in my tanky build with a series of 7-8k backstabs 4-6k heartseeker / Cloak and dagger….. now these skills are 1 hit skills they require NO CC to hold your target and are SPAMMABLE!….

What are you guys doing exactly when it comes to looking at the classes and how UNBALANCED they actually are??? the gap between THIEF > MES > ELE to any of the other classes is huge…. Rangers right now i think are Perfect ( i have a ranger ) Mes right now to in terms of dmg they do and sustain they have but they are still a MASSIVE leap above warriors in EVERY sense, BUT THIEF COME ON HUGE damage constant blinds the ability to VANISH and run coupled with MASSIVE single point damage is way out of touch…. My eviscerate with 10+ stacks of might and 80% crit damage will only crit for 8k and i have to have full adrenaline AND a CD and have to have said target CC’d to guarantee a hit…

Im WVW only player cant stand the pve tbh.

-Do you prefer to work with profession guilds or with PUGs?

I appreciate a post like this, we have already made arrangements to speak to several different guilds on different servers. The fact of the matter is this is a big decision that will span over several weeks because we really want to get to know players and the community of the server we choose. It will also take a lot of coordination to move this many people.

As far as some of your questions, I can definitely give a quick reply.

We’re somewhat hardcore, but we joke around a lot (not to the point of trolling but a good joke once in a while is appreciated)

Queue time is in fact a major issue and we prefer to have zero downtime in getting everyone together

-Do you aim to learn from others or teach others?
We are open to picking up any tactics and we have held tutorials for new players in wvw before, we are all on the same team so helping pugs is helping everyone – also, we are open to constructive criticism and love to gvg in order to become better

-Do you prefer to work with profession guilds or with PUGs?
Right now, we work with a lot of pugs, and although we realize there are many trolls out there, we prefer a community where the people are mostly good-natured and listen to commanders, if we need to we will tag down and do what we can to help, it’s not a big deal

-Do you prefer to run with a smaller but higher quality zerg, or a bigger but lower quality zerg?
We run our own zerg most of the time and try to coordinate with the other guilds. Voip is a requirement in guild to stay coordinated and most of the time we are off in another borderland taking up the lane. Defending is okay for us as well and we will go to whichever bl we are needed in. We want to go somewhere that wants to work with us and can coordinate a defense / attack effectively. When we can’t field 15-20+ people at once, our commanders will either head to another commander or try to rally the militia

I agree with what your saying claiburn BUT the classes are still very much UNBALANCED to a huge extent right now. The difference from Thief, Ele, Mes compared to Warrior, Engi, Gurdian is MILES APART
Rangers and necro seem perfect (ive only played necro in spvp so its personal opinion) Right now even with the changes Warrior is bottom of the pile in what it can take and dish out.

i play war,mes,ranger and guardian so i do have some incite into the classes

id recommend BP ignore what people say bout BP and AR both servers are still learning but IMO if you wanna make an impact a difference then BP would be a great choice. Im co leader of Seraphim Martyrs [BURN] the biggest guild on bp we would LOVE a guild with numbers like yours to work with tacticly on a big scale you would make an instant impact as BP is made up of mostly pugs and with those pugs we have reached the heights of T5 and above, currently we cannot compete with the numbers being thrown at us from the bigger servers of Ehmry and above so again your guild would make an instant impact.
