They said in the State of the Game January video why they’re only on Conquest.
Having pts around the map, makes people move around the map instead of staying in one spot to fight, and when they tried death match, people would wait to engage and hope to pop elites where there effect can be diminished by the Conquest format :o.You can see a similar effect in GW1, where people hesitate before engagement, and/or the map goes mostly unused as a result of no need to go around it other than kite trolling.
Finally you see this naturally occur in 8v8 hot-joins, where a free for all breaks out and the players swarm to one area to kill each other and ignore that the rest of the map even exists, meaning they might as well of made a 1400 by 1400 units box for all the space players actually use.
Yes my team deathmatch example was a bad example. But lets take the hunter vs hunted example that we had for halloween, it was fun (for me at least) and it made people still go around the map because the game type encouraged movement. So that can’t be the reason why there aren’t different game modes, many game modes, even including team deathmatch, can make people move around the area if they are encouraged with boosters for example (just like Temple of the Silent Storm does).

I wanted to bring this to your attention, although I’m pretty sure this has come in on several other threads but; the reason and the sole reason why I do not enjoy PvP, as much as I would like to enjoy it, is the lack of different game types.
The current capture and hold type game mode is fun for a while but after that it gets incredibly repetitive and boring, not to mention the fact that it makes some profession builds to be more effective than others.
I would love to PvP all day long but at the current lack of game types it just has no appeal to me. I hope there are plans on getting new game modes out and available. This would make the PvP experience so much more refreshing even with the same maps, because the objective wouldn’t be the same for example in team deathmatch (I know the oldest game type ever in every game), you would get people going in with lot more offensive builds rather than the current defensive builds for holding points in the current game type.
And if anyone in ArenaNet is reading, why is it so there is only one game type available?

Hello, I am the leader/founder of the guild [LOOT] and my guild really has no special purpose. The guild currently consists of me and one of my friends and it does get a bit boring with just the two of us.
We are looking for casual players who would like to chat, do events, dungeons whatever with us. I am myself quite experienced with the game and my friend is just learning the basics and is leveling his 1st character to 80 so if you are new in the game you would not be alone.
I know we cannot offer much compared to the bigger guilds out there but I’m positive there are people there who do not necessarily want to join the larger focus guilds and just want to have good time getting familiar with the game and just have fun playing with other people.

A dolyak mount for my huge norn would be amazing. It wouldn’t need to go any faster than I go since they are slow in nature (Wubwub supply dolyak speed for example).
There’s so much potential on possible “slow” mounts that would just be for the looks, I dont’ think many people would even care the practical uses.

My party is stuck on Ascalonian Catacombs explorable route 2 at the traps part (Help Detha set a trap to kill the patriarch.) in flooded temple.
Is there any specific place we need to place him or any sort of trick to start the actual part where you protect him from the gravelings?
Done this twice before and haven’t had any trouble before.

I believe rangers get a signet early on to increase movement speed.

They should add mounts but just for those who do want mounts the mounts should actually be slower than the walking speed. You have your mounts and waypoints are still useful = everyone wins!!! I believe a giant snail and a turtle you could ride would fit very well and they should also cost about 500 gold each to obtain since mounts should be expensive.
Also a huge mechanical war machine that you can buy for 1k-5k badges in WvWvW that would require 30 people to move with kazillion health and cannons on its side that you can shoot and demolish keeps with, but it would show on the enemies map as a huge target so they know whats up.
Yeah if they do that I’m all for mounts but if you want some lame lions and tigers to ride and play with I say nay for this suggestion.

I’d even us gems to avoid these things.
Pay a mesmer in silver to do the vistas for you. Done and done. No more jumping for vistas.

It shouldn’t be bound PERIOD because you can put blueprints on the floor for someone else to pick up.

Why should it be account bound? Is there any real reason? I’m seeing more and more people asking for things to be account bound instead of character bound every day.
I’m not asking it to be account bound. Asking the reason for why it is made soulbound.
I can transfer money and get siege on any character.
I can transfer badges and get siege on any character.
I can place the siege on whichever character I have it on and hop to the character I want to be playing and use the siege I placed on my other character.
That is the reason I am asking why are they just not account wide instead of soulbound to one character.

Why is siege soulbound to one character instead of account bound? I tried using siege I had acquired from jumping puzzles on my other character and I was surprised they weren’t usable.
Doesn’t bother me much but I just would like to have them stacked in one stack on my bank and use on whichever character I would be currently doing WvWvW with.
Some reasons to why it should be account bound instead of soulbound:
- You can transfer money from character to character to obtain siege.
- You can transfer badges from character to character to obtain siege
- You can drop blueprints for anyone to pickup
It just seems logical to have them account bound instead.

If you think you are running at a fairly reasonable pace post all of the chains you have run and the times to complete and we will file it to try and figure out if it is a bug. Please post accurate times, otherwise we cannot determine if there are in fact bugs in the system.
Arah path 3. We did not speed run at all (took hours). I’ve explained this on 2 posts already but here you go again. One of our party members got 60 shards along with achievement. One only got 15 shards, rest 45 and none of us got the achievement for completing that path. First dungeon of the day and never done that path before.

Diminished Returns system.
Sure it is working like intented? We were doing Arah for hours (because we took a break to eat and whatnot) and it was all of our 1st try on the path yet one of us got 15, 3 of us got 45 and one got 60 shards.

We managed to finish Arah path 3 on our party, however only one of us got 60 shards and achievement at the end while rest of us got between 15 and 45 shards and no achievement of completing the path. (No I had not done this path before).
Our party seemed to be bugged otherwise as well during the whole dungeon as we did not see other target markers than the ones we called ourselves and party members did not show on minimap or update on the party interface if they were some distance away from me (not awfully far but about range 3000 I would say).
Our party was the same the whole time and we did not leave the dungeon at any point either so it feels a bit unjustified to give one player more rewards than other members.

Most of you are completely misunderstanding my point. Not talking about boss encounters, dungeons or my guardian. My guardian can take a few dozen hits before even feeling a bit ticklish. This is purely a problem in low level zones or in Orr where I see less experienced players taking on more than they should, I would like to help them and give advice afterwards. Only thing I can do is say sorry for them that I was unable to come to their aid and they then usually call me an kittenbecause of this and it does make me feel like so.
Saying “oh you could spec to…” does not solve the problem because I simply don’t always feel like speccing that way and enjoy various different methods of gameplay. It is simply some parts that make hard to be the “Nice and helpful” guy around when you cant.
I also know people can rally and I am familiar to how that works, its just not simply enough time to kill a monster before the downed player dies most of the time. Also one thing I noticed when I start resurrecting someone, I am locked for ~1-2 seconds on resurrecting so dodging while starting to resurrect is not an option.
I just want to help a fellow player up so they would not have to pay the cost to both travel to nearest waypoint and repair fees that come after few more of similar encounters like so many have done for me in certain situation. It what makes a great community but being unable to do so is kind of hurting it.

We can already teleport to Lions Arch from anywhere in the world going from my hero panel > PvP >Teleport to Heart of the Mists > and go through Lion’s Arch asura gate.
How about just give us “Teleport to Lion’s Arch” button, so we can skip one of the 2 loading screens. Just thought of this while being annoyed by the loading times between the 2 zones.
I personally would love it because as much as I would like to play on a computer that loads any zone in 2 milliseconds, I do not, and it sometimes even crashes me on the loading screen or just takes ages and pretty sure I am not the only one.

I have this problem with my mesmer, its a problem on my guardian but I can live through it with him. The problem I seem to be having almost every time I go resurrect a downed player is that the mob’s “aggro” on me and I usually get one shot by everything around me while resurrecting someone.
I also seem to get less rewards by resurrecting downed people than actually dealing damage to monsters during events, which also leads to me being less helpful than I would like to be for new players and people around me. I know this would probably go under the suggestions thread section but I did not want to add this as just a suggestion but a topic to discuss rather. I feel like I should have some sort of shield each time I start resurrecting someone preventing my own death while being helpful to others (this shield wouldn’t be there in dungeons of course for added difficulty).
I would really like to help others but the fact is I don’t want to go resurrect people when I know it gets me killed, resulting in mine and the persons death who I would resurrect. So far this has happened to me roughly about 10 times and now if I see someone downed asking for res I just go: “I would if I wouldn’t die in the process myself.”
Anyone else having this as a problem?

Make the trail of dots on map, if traveling on water appear as blue dots. Makes it easier to get back to jumping puzzles knowing that you had to pass by some water on certain points.
