Guild Wars 2

Cleared cache. Makes no difference and I was able to use Paypal at the gemstore on and before Feb 23rd so don’t know whats changed since then.

I have tried for over a week now to purchase gems using paypal. The problem seems to be when I am redirected to paypal.
I get the ‘review my order’ page. check the ‘agree to terms etc. by Digital River’ and click the confirm box. Then I get the ‘proceed to Paypal’ directions page which I click and usually I get a page where I put my paypal p/w in to accept the gems I am buying. Now it just directs me to the paypal log in page where when I do log in there is no payment to complete.
The last time I was able to buy gems using Paypal was February 23rd.

Please help. I am missing out on a few bargains!

Tried to buy gems tonight using Paypal. When I am directed to Paypal it doesn’t show my transaction, just my summary page showing no Digital River transaction. I need to buy stuff and soon!

I’m getting this after I updated the game earlier. Also running windows 10 (64 bit) which did an update last night. Everything else works perfectly just Guild Wars has the 3D effect! lol Is it a setting I need to change? Never happened before.

Go to your Control Panel and uninstall the Nvidia 3D drivers.

Thank you so much! With one click it was back to normal, although I’m not sure how it was enabled. Will remember if it happens again

When purchasing the box of recipes for the precursor of your choice it clearly states that this item is Account Bound so I assumed it would not matter with which toon I used to buy and open it. I happened to be on my Ranger at the time so I used her but she’s done hardly any crafting at all. Now I am unable to craft it with my Mesmer who is maxed in all crafts?? Did I assume wrong? I thought Account bound meant ANY of your toons can use it. And if not when does it become soul bound? I even bought another volume on my Mesmer but it says I already know the content so I’ve wasted 5 gold and 10k of karma too. Also I’ve unlocked 5 other pre’s on my Ranger I’m now assuming I can’t craft those using my Mesmer either as they were also opened on my Ranger. – cries- The recipes only show red in my Rangers crafting tab and don’t show in my Mesmers at all. Help!

Bifrost I: The recipe for step one, the experimental staff, doesn’t appear in the crafting window. I only get the recipe for the inscription. I assumed, since it said Huntsman, that I could use the recipe on that toon. I should make it clear that it’s max level. Was I mistaken?

I’m doing the same but think its artificer you need as that’s where you make the staves.
I’m also only getting the recipe for the inscription, nothing more and eventhough I’ve opened the second tier in my Hero Panel I am unable to buy the second book from the vendor in LA.

Does anyone elses character just randomly shout things outside the ‘story’? My Mesmer seems to shout things even though I am on my own lol

When using Mirror blade the summoned clone does zero or very little damage. Clones on dodge do no damage either. Phantasmal Berserker works correctly. Compared with a friend with same stats/build on same enemies. His clones were doing correct damage. Other Mesmer characters (on the same account with different builds but still using Greatsword) have the same problem. Heeeeeeeelllp!

I feel like I’m the only one making a review post that isn’t angry and alarmist, but I liked just about everything I saw. Didn’t run into any bugs, content was fun, exploring the area was great! Map is beautiful. Also appreciated the out-of-cutscene dialog that my character was speaking. And most of all, love how the character development has improved around the end of season 1, and am very glad to see that quality continuing into this expansion.
Revenant was pretty fun to try out. The celestial stat setup up left it feeling kind of weak, but I guess that’s the best way to explore different ways of playing the thing with one set of gear. Found some good synergy within the limited weapon/legend/trait options, and am eager to see what other options will look like for them! The only thing that put me off about the test was the rev’s damage on hammer skills 3 and 5 (no issues with the other weapon set). #2 at max range has a good hit to it, but I found it difficult to get that kind of situation set up almost all of the time. Meanwhile, #3 and #5 both look like they’d pack quite a punch, and while I appreciate that they both have strong CC, that they were barely better than an auto attack made the weapon as a whole feel a little bleh. That and how hard it was to get the most out of #2 made it hard to dish out much damage in hammer. Maybe they’ll feel much more worth using with different stats, but that’s how it felt with the test setup… then again, I’d probably just double swords and Shiro my way through the expac.

Yup I agree with all of the above. Used Rev for first run and ranger for second run and enjoyed it even more. Only problem I found was a pitch black veil at the entrance/ exit of the cave and mastery UI, although vastly upgraded and much better looking was still a little confusing to use. Overall I loved it.

Do people who get this item get to test the WvW map?

The latest news on the GW2 webpage says…..

“We’re happy to announce that we’ll soon begin inviting select individuals to help us test the new World vs. World desert Borderlands map coming with the release of Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns™. This initial test will be small in size and duration and will focus on stressing the stability of our systems. We’re planning on expanding the number of participants involved for later tests, and we’ll release more information on how you can participate in those tests sometime in the future. This initial test will feature some of the most active WvW players in Guild Wars 2.”

I don’t usually PvP as it’s not my bag, but I really enjoyed Stronghold. We had a guild party of 5 and after 4 or 5 games began to see what worked and what didn’t. Being on TS really helped and by the end of tonight’s trial before bed we hadn’t lost a game. Personally I’d rather play this than pvp on the other maps.

Try the streaming client option. Right click a shortcut for GW2, select properties and change the target like this (using your own path):

Target: "C:\Example\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe" -StreamingClient

Tried doing that but it only made the shortcut unusable.

Lots of people are at this stage (Me included). Going off to eat dinner.

Getting the same thing. 1 file remaining!! Been 1 file remaining for what seems an eternity. o_O
