Palu,
In your link, you mention people that harmed you and do not want anyone to harm them back. Humans are humans and I would suggest that you simply remove their name from your document.
I wish you luck and enjoy what life has to offer. Live life to it’s fullest and explore what this beautiful world has to offer. Taiko drums are amazing and I hope you get to rock on!
Markus Titan
Kept it simple and efficient :P
Jornosh is a cool name, I like.
Nope, each game I’ve played and that I enjoyed had a magical something. My first MMO was back in 1998, playing Mankind Online. Over 25 million planets to explore, conquer and build, thousands of players, 1 world server, pure PVP, you could die and lose everything, which means: Game Over, start from scratch. The game was so massive that once I had to move from one system to another, it took me around 1 week of jumping before I got to my new home.
EVE-Online still feels small compared to that old gem. Of course, EVE is a different experience!
SWG was really good if you were into casual RP and enjoyed PVP. Making your own city, with a shuttleport, cantina, shops, hospitals and even mission terminals… It was hard to beat. We were lucky, we made a city that became popular and people actively lived in our city, at one point it was a mini New York.
WOW was fun for 3 months…
Basically, every MMO I played was unique in it’s own rights. I really enjoyed Mabinogi for a very long time.
GW2 has a lot of features that winks at all my favorite old games. While I do miss the sandbox elements, I do adore the PVE and PVP aspect. The lore is well done and the event system is really cool. While I did take a short break from this game, I’m more than happy to log on and continue my adventure.
Most humans are nostalgic. We like old stuff, we always say things such as “It was so much better back in my days” – Reality is… was it really? Was SWG better?
So aside from the cool features and sandbox elements…
- constant crashing
- Roll backs
- Sitting down at a table only to get rubber ban 20 miles away in the middle of a crazy spawn
- Exploits
- terrible GMs
- broken pvp
- Some of the worse dev team that I’ve seen in my life (as a gamer and professionally)
- complete lack of balance – out of 24 professions, only 2 or 3 were PVP competive
The list goes on…
Mankind Online
- The world was so big that if you start in an empty zone, your chance of meeting someone were slim lol.
- Terrible patching
- several downtimes
- 15$ a month in 1998 was a lot
- lag… lag…. lag
- The joy of ordering your fleet to build an epic building only to find out that it was going to take 6 real life months to build… O_o
- Massive Exploits
When you think back, you quickly find out that the game you loved was a real piece of garbage at times. hehehe
Hello!
What I feel they should do is have monologue where it opens up to multiple selection and can branch you out. I’m saying to exclusively use that but blend it in. Taking orders is fine but you need a feel that you’re generating the solutions, that you’re the active thinker.
For example… you enter a personal story instance and your character stands at the top of the hill. You see 3 possible ways to get through the hill. Instead of the characters giving you a choice, your character thinks out loud: “hummm, if I go through path 1, I’m in it for a long fight. If I take path 2, I better be ready to swim, if I take path 3, it should be easy but that Orgre at the end may pose a problem…” – Then you make the choice.
It’s just a very simple twist that would greatly personalize the storyline. Perspective is important!
So most of the RP takes place in Divinity Reach?
One of the best way to get a sense of where you’re jumping is to Zoom out and place the camera on top of your char. This will allow you do long/precise jumps without go over or under. Remember the char actually does 1 extra steps when he lands. It’s rather quite precise so focus on keeping your finger on space bar and release the moment you’re on top of your desired landing spot.
That at least should help you with the long/precise jumps.
As for the rest, just take your time. In most cases, it’s very fun and easy to do
I only tested Warrior/Guardian in PVP.
I’ve played at least 10 matches with each class. Enough to get a brief feel.
Warrior -
I was really impressed by the rifle damage. I didn’t think it would rival the Ranger (my main) but that sniper shot is just… wow… insane overall.
Melee Weapons are of course, nice and strong. I had a lot of fun with dual axes but I got to say, the Hammer sticks a smile to my face. Still, overall, I was playing around with the Greatsword and Sword/Axe combo at times.
Warrior hurts and I’ve seen much more advance players than me doing some amazing stuff and holding off a group by themselves. I myself, I only did something that could be considered average. I didn’t outshine my group at any point but I was never the handicap either. Compared to my Guardian/Ranger, Warrior is the class that I’ve lost the most battles. The heals on the warrior are really minimal and in some cases, not enough to heal a serious DOT.
Guardian -
Guardian is right now on my list of becoming my second main char. A battle between the fun and complicated Elementalist and smooth ride Guardian. Now, don’t get me wrong, Guardian is actually a complicated class and it took me a certain amount of time to get used to it. The Guardian is a killing machine with good heals, decent support skills, great damage and it just doesn’t die. I do not feel that it’s Overpowered but it is indeed one of the most well rounded class.
Again, the hammer
– Sorry, it’s my Space Marine geek kicking in.
The guardian forgives noobs like me. From game 1, I’ve been doing great to amazing. I actually rarely die with this character (unless caugh off guard or alone) – But as long as my team is up and I’m with them, I will live the day. It’s almost a no brainer. What I find fun about the Guardian is the Damage/Support role you have. You need to help your team and take care of them but at the same time, you can jump in and dish out some serious damage.
So that’s my short overview on both class. Don’t get me wrong, I like Warrior but I much prefer Guardian. Still, my main remains Ranger
Street Rat
Lost my parents
Joined the Vigil
The story with your parents is quite nice and it connects well with the character. My next char will join the circus :P
That’s what I actually love about the story of Guild Wars 2. Humans are holding and surviving but they are the endangered specie. Asura are becoming the new dominant force while the Sylvari are slowing awakening.
In pretty much any fantasy/medieval story, humans are always the dominant race.
My main is Ranger but I got to say, Elem is a lot of fun to play. I’m slowly leveling it up and trying to learn how to use him properly. So far, in PVP, I’m doing ok.
I’m just patiently waiting for this rebalance patch to knock in before grabbing this prof as my main.
1H + That double attack speed buff… wow…
My by default setup is:
- Longbow
- Sword/Torch
I actually never tried have 2 bows. I should really give it a try. Right now, I adore longbow to throw things away from me, the AOE and the overall damage is good. Sword/Torch has proven quite good for me, especially in situations where I can root, #2, drop flame circle, switch to Longbow and #2. That usually works well in both PVE and PVP.
I do like 2H sword as well and found that they work very well in PVP or against much stronger mobs.
As for my pets, I adore my polar bear/snow wolf combo. In PVP, I’ll use River Drake because of the lightning and Jaguar for some good stealth attack.
