U have refered only to one weapon and that is shortbow which is good in pve and shines even more in pvp . It is realy good weapon if u can use it .

Longbow have nice abilities too , 10 stacks of vuln. , nice knockback, and possibly ? the best ? AoE damage in our arsenal . It still need get buffed , fixed or whatever IMO .

Greatsword is weapon of my choice , good cleave damage (shoud be bit more higher IMO) , block , stun/daze , and epic jump + leap finisher .

Axe have nice bouncing attack with aoe bleed and slow .

I coul have countinued further but this is only example how much diversity rangers have .

Btw , what do you want to shoot from bow ? fireballs ? -_-

So basicaly , I have to spent next money on mobo and cpu in order to play game , which should be running well already ?
I have Phenom II x4 965 BE and running 20-40 FPS ( jumping like crazy , screen tearing etc …) and people who have same (or worse ) CPU and even much worse GPU can run it 40+ fps without drops , tearing alnd all thos kitten ….

I have it in x16 slot for sure , its written on mobo and on gpu-z also .
I didn´t had any problem with crashes and RAMs are working well .

Fact that they are aware doesn´t change a thing unless thay won´t say what is goin on ( even their opinions if they don´t “know” it )
I don´t think they even read what are we writing , they just read bunch of words and ctrl+c – ctrl+v prewritten “solutions” , even if you have written that you have already tryed them ….
I though that at least this game won´t punnish me for buying it (I´ve played WoW for 1,5 year on blizz , then moved to unofic cause it was almost the same and free , Then Diablo 3 which was my greatest dissapointment ever , and now GW 2 ) – those are the only games I´ve ever bought and every one of them made me angry … And when you download games ur´e pirate and deserves punishment . But why would I buy games , when all I have from it is headache and nerves ….

And yet , still no informations or statements from devs / techs ….

I have posted 2 topics here and in none of them I didn´t get any respond from Anet . I posted you on supports with game advisor included and nothing .

I want to know if the problem is on my or yours side . And if you are working on it ( say a little about progress ) or if I should start to asking for refund .

And write it in official post ( sticky ) so you don´t have to write it into every single post related to this problem .

So please , let us kno whats going on .

PVE 15-30 ( jumping like crazy while turning , jumping etc ..) while looking on ground results in about 50+ FPS sometimes

Cities 5-15 (was only in Black citadel and I turned of game , cause it was like watching powerpoint presentation )

PVP – didn´t even get to it
WvWvW – didn´t even get to it

GW2 build# latest

My GPU usage is 100perc and yes I fiddled in catalyst ceneter without results … I was checking that thread , if someone without only 0,2 GHZ can have 30-40 + fps ??? that´s just stupid , since he has same model of CPU as I do …

Why is that ? that´s exactly what was happend to me when i build my pc . I don´t mind about slot , just curious

I have HD 7850 and got about a same problem as u , I guees it´s some incompatibility with HD 7xxx series or something like that .

And I also have it in second slot cause upper one is not responding , dunno why si that , but markings next to 2nd slot clearly says : PCIE x16_2 . So bacialy it is the same one and If there would be issue with it , it would have shown in other games IMO since I´m able to get 60+ FPS on Battlfield 3 I can state that this shouldn´t be the problem causing this .

But people are having problems even with Nvidia GPUs so the issues is still unknown till techies from Anet wont give us statement what´s going on since there´s no solution out yet and all theese suggestions from players are only subjective .

Yes , it is in PCIE X16 slot . Unfortunately i got only into black citadel city cause i couldn´t just stand watching on powerpoint presentation (5-10 FPS) . Im not asking for too much , just want 40-50 STABLE FPS not 20-40 ,jumping like crazy, FPS .
I simply don´t think that my PC is that bad to run this game like this …

My pc is not even half year old and cost me over 750 € which is a lot of money for me … U see my spec above , and yet u think it´s not fast enough to keep this game above 40 fps ???
And I don´t think it´s so hard for Anet techies to put at least one statment and make it “sticky” on the forum so everybody can see what´s going on . I bet u would grateful if u had some problem and u would see what´s the problem and how it´s goin to be solved ..

Maybe few of the had OCed CPUs but most of em had stock CPU frequency . I would OC mine , but yet my CPU isnt even working on full load so it won´t do a thing I guess cause mine is now at 3.8 GHZ which is suitable for more then what I´m getting ATM .

Problem is that I don´t really want to clean up my HDD cause i have lot of thing on it (school , pictures, work etc …) . I´ve picked phenom CPU cause on lot of forums it´s stated as gaming cpu of AMD , and As i written above , lot of people who have exactly same CPU and worse GPU have better performance then me , which is kinda against normal thinking . It´s just crazy that I can handle lot of different games GPU based (bf3 , skyrim etc… ) and CPu based ( Total war collestion, and strategic games in overall ) . I´m not writing that i should have 80+ FPS everyhwhere , but 10-15 FPS in towns and 20-40 FPS pve is just crazy IMHO ….

I know my CPU isn´t best for gaming , but i swa some people who are using asm CPU are getting steady 60 FPS even with v-sync on . Cores on my CPU aren´t even working at 100 percent , you can check link I posted above and see what´s goin on in my PC . Even friend of mine with intel core 2 duo is getting steady 40 FPS , while I´m getting that on low settings , and even then it´s jumping 20-25 FPS lower when I´m turning around etc …

I really don´t think it´s problem based on my current CPU (I written down why in this reply) . I´m willing to play even on med/high setting ( which is disgraceful fro me ) if it would get nice ressult in case of performance .

That´s why I want to hear some statement from technicians .

To begin with , you can take it as a call for attention but that´s what it really is .

Theese FPS problems are frustrating , it´s just crazy how game , which my PC should be able to max out without issues , is running so bad … I´ve spent lot of money on my rig ( Radeon 7850 , phenom II x4 965 BE , 8GB RAM …) and on the game as well , and yet I´m not able to play this game cause of insanely low FPS .

But as you probably know , I´m not the only one who is having trouble with this game .

So here´s question for techs :

- Are u currently working on theese issues ? ( I guess so)

- What seems to be problem ? Our rigs or your support ?

- When can we expect fix/repair of theese issues ? Im not asking for exact hour , only astimated time , since I´m browsing forums like idiot every day to find solution , or at least some info about what´s going on . Or maybe I´m just bad at searching .

- If theese issues won´t dissapear , will we be able to get refund ( I really want to play this game , but at theese conditions I simply can´t ) ?

I hope we will finaly get some statement , cause it´s nice to have some informations about what´s goin on . I really hope theese problems will get fixed soon

I see your point , pardon me then I think this minor defect will be fixed as well with those major FPS issues If your game runs smoothly , and only that panel gives u FPS drop , it´s probably issue of same kind I believe cause for instance I have really smooth char selection and creation , but ingame it´s like 15-50 FPS dropping and that´s only in pve , in towns it is maximally 10-15 FPS , but as well it might not be it .

However , theese issues have not any solutions ( only those like , older/new drivers , resolution , etc … and any of those are not working for me ) . good luck on fixing ur problem

Theese FPS issues seems to flurish … I hope we might see a patch/fix to theese in next “days” . It may not calm u down , but your problem is most relevant of theese , cause u have FPS drop only while you open contacts panel , which isn´t that a big problem , considering that lot of us have permanent FPS drop during everything . It´s like whining about one small tree in huge forrest , while others have kitteny gardens :/

Even though I know it´s annoying to play like this , but we all hope to see fix soon just be patient (at least you can play the game and not watching a slideshow)

Are those older drivers helping in significant way ( if yes , write how much improvement u get from it) ? How do I Instal older drivers ? just download the older version and instal it over , or do I have to somehow uninstal my drivers as they are now and instal older one after ?

As I´m chceking amd site , every new driver is improoving quality of games , not downgrading them . But all theese issues are against normal sense so I wont be surprised if it would help .

Since I saw on the other forums that few people tryed this , and it didn´t worked at all , I decided not to do it until there´s some proven case . I Have a lot of things for my school on HDD , even a lot of music , films etc. It would be pain in the a** to do those things right now .

Anyway , I´m still browsing internet for any solution and I´ll keep posting here if I found something which would help .

Don´t say those things about cpu …. friend of mine have intel core 2 duo or something like that which is kinda old CPU , and it´s worse then my phenom II x4 965 in many ways . He got even far worse GPU then me and yet , he is still able to keep the game running on mid/high settinngs and getting like 30-40 FPS pve and about 25-30 in towns …

It´s not like : Oh I spent 50€ on game which don´t run on my current rig , which is capable of maxing any game on market nowdays . I should buy new CPU cause mine isn´t sufficient .

That´s kinda bull**** , MMOs should be disigned for even older rigs … I wouldn´t say nothing if my PC was crappy , but this is just disapointing . I just sold D3 cause it sucked a lot , and I was looking for another game … aaand bang , this happend

Yes , u can take it as whining , but what else should be people do ? For somebody is 50€ a lot of money , especialy for me since I´m student and I´m not getting money from parents .

Only if I would at least see some feedback from Anet technicians , what are they doing , what seems to be problem , how long would it take to fix this problem or if they are fixing it already … Those things keeps comunity in calm and make them think that they are currently working on problem ( I´m not sayin that they are not already fixing it , but it would be nice if they would let us know about progress ) . It´s reasonable that teher will be more and more whiners , beacuse it´s only thing we can do , since we are getting no attention or feedback from oficial employees .

As I mentioned , I checked my CPU and its not even at full usage during game , while GPU is at 100perc .

Thing taht bothers me most is that mate who have crappy pc can run this game smoothly at around 30 fps , even in towns , events etc . I would be grateful if i would have even something about 40fps , but constantly , not dropping like 30 FPS . Even if my CPU was bottlenecking my GPU , it shouldn´t be as bad as it is .

again , I would like to hear opinion from some Anet tech. . But if anybody have some suggestion , feel free to post them here , I´m willing to try almost anything at this condition .

Yes , i run 64bit version of win 7 , I have no spywares , lates drivers etc … I didn´t had problem with any other game …
I guess I´ll have to wait till there wiull be some fixes to this …

Im having about 30-50 , sometimes jump to 70ies , but thats pretty much it , it is constatnly dropping while turning around and much worse its inside city , there I´m getting like 5-15 FPS which is soooo ugly , boring and disgraceful for this PC imho :/

There is still a big FPS drop during turning aropund with my char .

I somehow figured out whats the problem … I´ve done some researching and foun that there are few problems with shadows , shaders and reflections . Just turn them off and it will take those problems of , it´s still not best , but at least playable .

Can anybody specify theese problems with HUGE FPS drops on theese Pc rigs which should be able to handle this game with any doubts ?

- Is it problem caused by somekind of bottlenecking or is it problem caused by Anet and not supporting some hardware combinations ?

I´ve ordered this game with my mate , who has a really slower PC and yet he can handle running the game with 35+ FPS .

I starting to be kinda worried , but I hope it will be repaired or I´ll find some solution soon

Also , I was checking driver notes . There are mentioned lot of games which will run faster , however , there no mentions about GW 2.

I´ve just installed the game , full of joy that i can finaly get my hands on this game , which i bought from selling diablo 3 cause it sucked .

Game at char selection and creation runs smoothly , but it drops to like 10-20 FPS ingame . Even if I change setting to low , it won´t do a change , it only get to like 40 FPS when im looking on something steady , when i look at NPCs etc. its dropping to 15 FPS .

I´ve just build my rig this year and finaly i got to get some “sweet” desktop …

I´m able to get steady 60+ FPS on Battlefield 3 on ultra set. I didn´t had problem with any games yet .

I was looking for few hours , but I wasn´t able to find anithing that would solve this .

- It might be some issue with Anet , since I´m not the onlyone whos having a problem here and its not single GPU or CPU problem , but its problemating with various brands and series.

- It could be CPU bottleneck , but any of my cores aren´t running at full speed while game is on , maybe 1st. core is up to like 80perc and others are something below 40perc .

- It CANT be my GPU , it simply cant be it cause there are waaaay more GPU dependant games on market and I had no problems with those .

- I was trying to change CPU freq , as I saw on few forums related to this problem , and it didn´t affected game at all …

Is there any solution out yet ? Should I just wait for Anet to fix this up ?
