I am laughing at people saying that “Unwavering Avoidance” is not a big deal of nerf. Let me ask this, why are some people okay with nerfing a good skill?

Unwavering Avoidance has an amazing usage in WvW (as well as pvp of course). When getting rushed in by an anticipated bomb or CCs, you dodge away giving you these couple stab stacks (or single). Usually zergs kitten their CCs before the bombs, not the other way around (mostly). Now you will need to get CC’ed, breakstun, then dodge and most probably you will get this stab.

P.S. Why does Ventari exist as a legend in revenants anyways? Just delete it.

Anet, can you for once buff something in revenants. 100% of every major updates, we get some kind of annoying nerfs.

GvG Queue or Bigger guild Hall Arena

I know this have been suggested several times ago ( I guess…). What is the problem pushing this Guild Versus Guild (GvG) mode forward. I doubt it would require a lot of effort to make it happen.

I understand we have the guild hall arena now. Unfortunately, it is too small in comparison to the OS map which is much larger and more convenient.

This can be a great enhancement for all the GvG fans. Can you either make an official GvG queue (somehow) or increase the guild hall arena size?

The only time I die to DH is if I’m just screwing around and not actually trying to be aware of positioning or traps. Sure if they port into a team fight out of nowhere and drop 2-3 traps + Dragon maw, chances are at least ONE person is going to be out of evades/dodges/mobility CDs and get eaten alive. Gimmicky and lame.

For all the pro-acting-like players, here is the the reply I was waiting for, thank you Chip Skylark.
Please read and understand my post before acting pro and be like “high tier players….. and L2P” all that nonsense. Moreover, when I started this topic I wasn’t talking about 1v1 vs a DH. A brainless DH with other brained players in his team can, genuinely, kill you in 1 second once they put the nice target on your head!!

And yes, I am not like a high tier PvP players like “all” of you who replied with “L2Dodge” which I am sure you’re not a high teir PvP player either but you want to act like one.

Thanks for the new content in HoT. Your developers (software, graphics etc) did a great job. Absolutely no thanks or pity for your managers and decision makers.

Despite of how this games “looks” pretty, it turned into a super grindy in all aspects. Not only for PvE but also for PvP ….. oh sorry! did I just say “grindy in all aspects”? My bad, because you ignored WvW.

PvE: Great content but…. repeat, replay, repeat, replay, repeat, replay….. I guess, some people like it.
PvP: 1) Fun for very small window of players. The already have team type (sPvP) or the very hardcore. And no, whoever is readying this, don’t consider yourself hardcore. I understand you think that you are from the top tier players…. no not for you. You might be a level 80 in rank but good luck hitting the Legendary rank and repeat it. I am sure someone will come out and be like : “Oh hey, I got the legendary rank in couple hours” Then this message is not for you.
2) You wanted players to intensively play PvP during the Christmas/new years break. You made it hell actually!! Specially with your so-called balanced classes.
WvW: 1) I am glad it started to get some life again….. I miss the old maps tho. But, I will take whatever you give me with this. 2) Lack of unique rewards….. I mean, do you know how expensive it is for drivers to play WvW?? Not even drivers, normal players make no gold, gain minimal rewards during WvW compared to your favourite modes (PvW and PvP). I bought this game for its WvW and I, really, can’t wait to find an alternative WvW type…. (I am aware there something similar out there, I am currently trying it).

Last, I feel GW2 changed from being a fun game to me, to a daily routine thing that I have to log in for: daily chest, daily flax, daily achievements, daily fractals (as if I do them)….. daily daily…. wtf I am not playing, it’s a chore!!

Again, thank you hard working developers…… Take some online classes, managers!

Surely the class you’re playing has some other means of survivability than just dodging.
The dodging is just a general tid bit. You expect a trap somewhere? Dodge through it.

Also, they literally only have 5 skills you have to worry about.

Dragon’s maw, true shot, judge’s intervention, SoJ, and hunter ward.

Once that’s on CD, they’re done.

They’ve sacrificed their sustain in order to try and kill you as fast as possible.

It’s like shatter mesmer. You can die in the blink of an eye if you’re squishy and not expecting it.

If you’re expecting it, it’s actually relatively simple to dodge both.

Also, pro-tip.

In a team fight, just throw a target onto the DH.

He’ll die before any of his bunker friend’s on the point will.

Thank you for the advice. Again, play versus a team with brain that coordinate with their DH, you’re destroyed!! Sure every class has their survivability skills, if that’s the case. I don’t want to read complaining about other OP classes (since we can dodge all of them or use our personal surviving skills), because as we all know, there is nothing called stun, immobs, chills, dazes, confusion etc…….

why aren’t you dodging the taps then dude? like, why not. it’s not hard. they have activation times. they daze before damage so you even get an icon telling you to dodge. dragons maw even has an animation where you are fine until the jaws close. it’s not hard to dodge them tbh.

if you cared to read my signature you’d know that I play predominantly scrapper in PvP. can’t see why I would be defending DH for my own benifit when I’m on an engineer. but you got emotional and accused me of self serving bias. nice one.

I am not going to re-explain the dodging part for you. So, because you mentioned couple classes in your signature that means you never played anything else?? what are you talking about man…… cool cool I got your point.

Actually, I got everyones point, that I need to L2dodge. Can someone on this forum try to understand what I mean beside the L2dodge kitten?? Like the dodge his always there in team fights.

Dear Anet,

Thank you so much for the amazing game. But personally, I don’t care about your PvE content (I really don’t give a dam kitty cat about it). You promised us server fights (aka WvWvW or WvW). This was the only reason I bought the game, and it was my life since the launch.
Please start taking care of WvW again in the near future not next year sometime. You promised something, respect your work.

One last thing, please moderators report this message directly to the person in charge. The faster they solve this issue the less pain you will have to deal with our messages.

Try to understand what happens when you have 10 revenants spamming CoR every 2 seconds.

You are assuming that you will be always fighting the revenants from distance the whole time, correct? Because CoR on close range is not a big deal. Let me tell you this, and I will mimic your words:

1- Try to understand what happens when you have 10 reapers spamming Wells only one time (which is enough, no need to consider the cooldowns anymore).
2- Try to understand what happens when you have 10 rangers spamming Rapid Fire from distance (which is enough, no need to consider the cooldowns anymore).
3- This is a funny one: Try to understand what happens when you have 10 eles spamming meteor shower followed by statics followed by chills followed by, followed by, followed by and then repeat again from distance.

You, sir, will deserve anything happen to you and your group if you will assume that you will mainly fight the front-lines and leaving the back-lines free casting on you, no matter what class they are.

Again CoR for WvW, there is no room to complain about. For PvP, anyone if you have problem with this skill, just L2P. You can literally walk in circles and CoR will not touch you. People just stand there.

Balancing Revenant (PvP) with Minimal Effort

Balance is hard, and PvP metas change over time. However, from what we’ve seen so far, The Power Shiro-Glint build is by far dominant in PvP, with Mallyx-Glint a distant second. Here are some suggestions that can help balance the class with minimal design change, given that most current bugs are fixed as well.

As always, many people will have different opinions , so please leave constructive comments only, which of course can include criticisms or proposed changes. EDIT: Some community suggestions have been taken into account in italics.

Weapons

Sword

  • Unrelenting Assault: Reduce damage by 50%. This skill should be an evade and teleport, but the damage is too high. EDIT: Some in the community do not want to give up this damage + evade that has very little counterplay. I disagree with this on a fundamental skill design level. Another viable solution could be that the damage remains the same, but if the initial skill cast is dodged, the skill is evaded, like nearly every other skill in the game.
  • Grasping Shadow: Reduce cast time to 1/4 second (-50%). Sword off-hand can be just as viable as shield if Grasping Shadow is buffed, adding a layer of complexity, skill, and variety. EDIT: Increase range to 300 (+130%). This skill is too difficult to land in it’s current form.

Hammer

  • Coalescence of Ruin: Reduce damage by 33%. Just a moderately overtuned skill, like True Shot. EDIT: A better solution might be to simply increase the cooldown to 8s (+300%).
  • Drop the Hammer: Reduce cast time to 1.25s (-29%). This skill is fairly useless in mid to high tier PvP, but could be more interesting with decreased cast time. EDIT: Another option might be to make this a fire and forget skill rather than a channeled skill.

Mace

  • Misery Swipe (chain): Increase range to somewhere between 300 and 480. This weapon would see much more use in condi builds with some range on the auto attacks.

Axe

  • Temporal Rift: Add a chain skill to detonate the rift, like mesmer’s focus 4 (Temporal Curtain). Decrease the range to 600 (-33%). This alone could make axe a viable choice.

Utilities

Mallyx

  • Pain Absorption: Transfer 2 conditions from each ally and youself to the target. Increase cast time to 3/4s (+50%). This allows active counterplay to conditions, and gives revenants meaningful condition removal. This change alone makes Mallyx competitive with Shiro.
  • Banish Enchantment: Corrupt 2 boons instead of removing them. Increase cast time to 3/4s (+50%). This allows for active counterplay to some boonful classes.

Ventari

  • Remove from the game. (I kid, but this would need a major overhaul to be viable in PvP, it seems). EDIT: This line could be good in some situations, but requires more work than the scope of this article.

Jalis

  • See Ventari.

Herald

  • All facets: Add 1/4s cast time to initial cast. This forces Revenants to think when to activate the signets, rather than spamming them during Unrelenting Assault or Crystal Hibernation. (Leave Infuse Light and Gaze of Darkness chain skills as instant cast!) EDIT: Many in the community like the freedom of these instacast abilities. However, a small increase to cast time could bring the necessity of Herald in line with the other trait lines.
  • Infuse Light: Make this skill about 5 times more visible (+400%). This is a great active mechanic but is currently not visible enough except in the buff bar.

Traits

Devastation

  • Malicious Reprisal: Remove the hidden ICD from this trait. This allows active counter to bunker builds which rely on blocking. EDIT: The cooldown is 30s. Remove this cooldown to promote an active threat to bunkers.

Corruption

  • Opportune Extraction: Reduce ICD to 6s (-40%). Optionally corrupt boon rather than remove. This allows condition-specced revs to be a threat to boonful classes.

Invocation

  • Roiling Mists: Reduce critical chance while under fury increase from 20% to 10%. This is not vital, but it might be a good place to balance overall Revenant damage.

Herald

  • Shared Empowerment: Reduce might duration to 5s baseline (-38%). Currently, this trait alone overpowers Revenant raw damage output. A fair reduction will put Revenant damage in line with other classes. EDIT: Many in the community are against a balance in damage. This suggestion would only remove around 12% damage. Please note that there are some significant buffs in Sword off-hand and Malicious Reprisal which would raise skill ceiling to the class even with this small reduction in damage.

You can simply say the following:

“Hello Anet, please nerf revenants so they can be completely useless”

See, wasn’t it easy to say instead of typing all of that? I made it easier for you.

With your current awful so-called balancing, go and try to 1v1 the following: Mesmers, DH, Druids, Reapers, and Tempests. Let me know if your amazing balances can beat any of that.

1- Game crashes too much after 11-17 patch
2- In EB (WvW), Revenants when they drop into the water and come out again, the facets are reset (which is okay) but the activating the facets lasts for 2 seconds then they turn off on their own. I activate them again and they turn off after 2 seconds again. (Please fix this ASAP)!!!

If you will nerf CoR then please nerf the following:
1- Remove traps from DHs
2- Crap chill **** from reapers
3- Rapid fire and the tankyness from Druids/rangers
4- Mesmer burst is ridiculous!!
5- Tempests tankyness

See, as much as I am against nerfing of that but taking away CoR from revenants will not make them has any significance in anything…. they will be more like warriors (lowest effective class except for their banners and rampage which you already nerfed).

FYI people, CoR is not as “big” on close range battles. HOW IS CoR any worse than rapid fire???

You mean those 2 wells on 30 sec cool down which deal 3 CoR damage per 6 pulses combined ? Thanks for the laugh.

Before posting anything please put your butt down and think.

2 wells, 3 CoR damage (according to you, which is not true because wells have other effects as well) per 6 pulses AND bigger aoe radius AND no animation of casting (you just find yourself standing on top of it).
Now someone smart will come and say “but you can dodge out of the wells”. That’s exactly the point, the third impact of CoR is the most damage, dodge out of it, it is HIGHLY animated. Regarding the first impact, it is incredibly weak!
You know what also is pathetic? That people are always taking it on its high damage end which is 7 to 9 K, which is not the common damage. This happens when other boons, condis and traits are taken into consideration such as 10 stacks of vulnerability or so. That kitten commonly happens in WvW not PvP. If you received 10 stacks of vulnerability in PvP, then I am sorry to say, you deserve the 7 to 9 K damage up your “face”.

Are you still laughing now? I am happy to make you laugh more.

UHHH complaining about WvW? Lol if they balanced the game taking in consideration WvW the a game would be twice as worse. There are alot of other skills they would have to tweak first if you want to balance around WvW too, so just no… this would be a bigger mess.

End of story, this skill is not as OP as you think in PvP. Ask the mesmer burst and rapid fire rangers. This skill is actually very weak in close range combats.
If you’re gonna fix skills for WvW, then please don’t forget to start with reapers/nercos wells (which won’t make sense to nerf)

Anyone who hangs out at range in PVP and lets the attack hit them deserves what’s coming to them. Seriously, if you give half an attempt at closing with an enemy, you negate most of a Hammer Revenant’s toolbox. Learn to adapt your stale strategies and you won’t keep losing to skill spam.

I find it too hard to be proud of any accomplishment in pve. It has about as much attraction as being really good at jumping puzzles.

After 2 years of playing WvW, I gave up. I’m actually enjoying the game now. Have fun waiting.

You were able to achieve the transition from a WvW to PvE player. I hope I can do that as well…… but not seeing this happening any time in the near future.

Can they just admit it please?! Promises and twitch hype regarding HoT and how WvW will be more amazing then ended up super dead, just very disappointing.

Anet will not merge server…. HoT is a big sucess, look at all those full server.
We have hundred of players in game.
Well, we didn’t see them on the new BL, but they are here, for sure, look, lot of server are full…

I am not sure if you understand the topic clearly!
PvE-wise, yes they are packed. WvW-wise, there is a huge gap between T1 and T2 and the rest.
I know that the solution is not easy, but I hope to see some kinda of solution some time soon.

To people who want it to remain as it is, why? It is a poorly done effect that affects combat visibility in a negative way and doesn’t really make it clear what it is a Herald has up since most people can’t make out the icons around the circle.

1) Why legendary weapons have effects?
2) Why some skills has visual effects? like empowering on guardian or something?!
3) Why there are shinny nice looking dyes? (like celestial during the day)

I am, strongly, against taking this visual effect away!

Well herald are a bit strong at the moment. Revenant is pure trash.

Heralnd is stronger than revenants, correct. But not stronger than some other classes.

What they really need to nerf is the mesmer bust, only came upon only one but the damage is just insane, he literally bursted me for my 20k hp I had with his #3 GS skill and 3 mantras alone.

Aside from that, I see a slight nerf on dps, because I personally even agree that the dmg is just insane right now, I’m doing 4k-8k crits with hammer 1/2 skills, and this is from spvp.

I still don’t think they should nerf the hammer! Even you mentioned that mesmers 20K’ed you, why should they nerf hammer 1/2? FYI, hammer 2 skill is not strong for close range combats.

In general, if they are going to nerf 1 and 2 hammer, then they should nerf the other classes as well. That was my original point. Otherwise, just leave it as it is…. may be some polishing here and there for every class is okay.

Some time ago I read people complaining about Revenants and how OP they are etc. Well, obviously complaints started to decrease once people started understanding to counter.
Please don’t nerf revenants. If so, then start with demon hunters, reapers and, the known, condi mesmers. Although I am against nerfing any of that either.
Please give people time for people to learn before stuff.

What’s everyone opinion about WvW being dead now? (I am not talking about EoTM)

When people come back to WvW, eventually, why do we have to spend one or two weeks getting masteries/Hero Points etc? What is the actual goal for getting masteries and hero points if you’re more of a WvW player than PvE one? Unfortunately a lot of WvW wants to maximize their mastery before hoping back to WvW……

I Just think that the expansion did positive and negative to WvW players. Positive by adding new “classes” and WvW maps (hopefully good ones). Negative by the hero points hindrance and people leaving WvW and going to PvE to achieve the yellow 80 on their character (if you get what I mean).

Just wanted to mention this in a separate topic before it gets merged (probably): “250 is a better decision for WvW/GvG and intermediate to casual players.”
Sorry hardcore PvE players, but you’re no the only community in this game.

Yet, I still think that it can be even less than 250 but, fine, I will take that new change.

A better change, take it this way. I am sure some people will cry about it but Anet probably understood that there are other communities that play the game such as WvW, GvG and casual players.
