No ELITE SPECIALIZATION LORE [Spoilers]

in Lore

That’s right,

I just finished the main story of HoT and I haven’t come across any lore regarding the elite specs. It’s like ANET slapped them into the game just because they needed to. Only hints “profession-wise” is when we see Rox questioning Rytlock about “His new magic, and where did he get it from.” However throughout the entire story, Rytlock continues to avoid talking about his Revenant magic.

That’s it, oh and the Dynamic event surrounding the Druids in Auric Basin. But that’s all we get… Oh and maybe you can count when Irenio gave us small lore on the Scrapper.

But as far as in game, how your Chr became their new elite, is non existent. This is highly upsetting because in MMOs like FINAL FANTASY 14: ARR, their classes have lore, even with the new ones that come out in that game. But in GW2, we get nothing. Arena Net, as a Role Player Iam forced to make my own stories about how my Sylvari became a druid… But tbh, I’d like more Indepth lore for every elite spec and hopefully the Revenant.

I have a feeling there will be more updates to HoT regarding story, and if so… I hope we get some more lore on the elite specs. Because they are poorly implemented lore wise into the game.

Thank you,

You and your team have done a fantastic job, theme wise and more, on the DRUID. Finally roles are coming into Guild Wars 2 after 3 years of boring DPS ZERKER META.
Despite all the salty and negative comments around the forms and in game. I want to say thank you, for the DRUID truly speaks to me on a personal level.

I cannot wait to finally enjoy dungeons, raids, and more. I stayed clear from dungeons and fractals because I was bored of the whole STACK and DPS META. Thank you and all of ANET for realizing that issue and creating the ELITE SPECS, to bring back ANET’S vision of a soft TRINITY.

FPS DROP after Patch

I dont have a fancy high end gaming PC like most people but my graphics card is ok. Its a AMD Radeon HD 6520G Graphics card in my laptop.

I can usually achieve 30-35FPS even 40FPS all on high settings, just under the Subsample graphic choice.

Now I only get 20-22 FPS MAX, even on the lowest settings!!! Even in areas where there arent any players and when facing a wall! This has virtually made the game unplayable for me. This sucks because GW2 is the only mmo THAT LOOKS DECENT on my crappy laptop.

ANET what is going on!?!? I have been playing for 2 years with no graphical issues till now, I hope a remedy is on its way because Im stuck with no MMO now.

That’s right, I could care less what others say negatively about the Druid. I happen to love it so much, Iam switching from being a Mesmer main for 3 years, to now a Druid main. In BWE3 I played the elite class, all weekend! I fell in love.

As much as I love the unique magics of Mesmers, I’ve always had a heart for healing magic, nature, and the cosmos. So while those that hate on the spec will continue their rants and rages, I’m going to look the other way, and take up my druid staff and began my new healing career.

I’m tired of the 3 year DPS Meta. I’m ready for something groundbreaking, something that changes and refreshes how to play the game, and Druid does that for me, because I love being a healer in MMOs. October 23rd cannot come soon enough! Iam proud to say I love the Druid, and I’m glad it exist!

Druid MAIN incoming! Thanks ANET and Irenio!

I just logged out and noticed a new issue with this graphic reset problem. I was at Subsample, then was reset Native as went to a new map in PvE. I then changed it back to Subsample, after arriving at the new map.

Here is the thing, as I went underneath a body of water in the same map, my screen went black and switched me back to Native. So it seems bodies of water and land are two different areas in the same map.

This is becoming a rather bothersome issue.

elixir x

in Engineer

Posted by: Purecura.1795

Purecura.1795

Lore wise it’s totally fine. Engineers specialize in alchemy. Alchemy is a fusion of chemistry and magic. Elixirs are one of the products that come from the engineers alchemy craft. They have “Magical effects”, which is to be expected.

Elixir X is an Alchemy item. So changing to another form, or using another classes skill, or gaining random boons, is a result of the properties within said Elixir X or any other elixir. It’s contents are half magical and half scientific, resulting in a random fusion of possibilities.

Elixir X-Randomly change into another form. Tossing it changes foes into Moas.
Elixir U- Tossing it, creates a random spell at target location
Elixir C- Converts conditions into boons
Elixir S- Shrinks you and tossing it grants stealth

As you can see, an elixir is a concoction of various ingredient, that will have a magical alchemical effect. Alchemist in most fantasy lore could not cast spells on their own, which meant they had to devise new methods in gaining magical effects through the practice of alchemy by using alchemical bombs, elixirs, and other various creations. Some sought ways to understand the material world and magic even further than the typical Mage. In order to do so, they had to cross boundaries most mages wouldn’t, and that was understanding the “Science” behind magic.

And engineers elixirs, produce spells/ skills that other classes have access to. Allowing them to use Necromancy, Elemental, Illusion, and guardian magic. As well as more physical skills like Smoke wall, and Rampage. So in a sense Gw2 engineers are crossing that barrier most mages from other fantasy lore would frown upon.

The fact that alchemist or “Engineers” in this case, have access to spells/abilities from a variety of professions, allowing them to use magic from other schools without actually having to be the class required to use those spells naturally, makes them seem as “chaotic” to most in the Mage community due to the random nature of their alchemy craft, despite its versatile effects.

Hope this helps!

How do we know Mordremoths name?

in Lore

Posted by: Purecura.1795

Purecura.1795

Hello,

As I play through Living World Season 2, I cant help but realize that the player character knows the Plant and Mind dragon’s name already. I know a thread like this was posted a year ago, and a dev did say that as the PACT commander, who specializes in fighting dragons with the PACT organization, we already have knowledge on the name. But there is no info in game to confirm we know the name of Mordremoth prior to his awakening.

Lastly, I also found out there was some info datamined a year ago, before scarlet died, she would tell you the Plant and Mind Dragon’s name. But the cutscene was changed. My question is, do we have any updated new info on how the Name Mordremoth came to be? How does the PC know it?

While there are still things that need to be worked on or otherwise, Guild Wars 2 is the best MMORPG I have ever played and I’m proud to have 3 years under my belt, with many more years to come.

As a person who wishes to one day travel to space, in hopes of exploring far off worlds, in the meantime I have Tyria. A world with many cultures, towns, cities, and beauty. A world I can explore right in my living room, and that alone makes me more than grateful and happy.

Holy Trinity Inbound?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Purecura.1795

Purecura.1795

Now that we have ROLES and harder content in HoT. We need to open up more to the playerbase. Why should every class focus on DPS? That Boring and so not creative in terms of gameplay.

Druid offers a unique approach to gameplay during raids. See it as something new, breaking the old. jesus you ppl whine and complain about stupid kitten

Remind me what’s unique about the Green Bar / Red Bar playstyle again ?
From what i can recall it’s been in every game since well….pong.

Not a very unique playstyle.

Opening up the game to more people i have no problem with, so long as they stop shifting the goalpost on what this game was designed to be.

This game was not designed to be a traditional trinity system….and so far we are coming ever closer to it. For what purpose ? Hard content, Incorporating more players ? Take your pick its as good as anyone else. However if it truly is the later, then these people need to do the proper research into a product before expecting it to be yet another Traditional MMO clone.

See, this is the thing. Guild Wars 2 wanted to get rid of the TRINITY, which resulted in the BIRTH of the super boring, uninspiring, BESERKER META. Which imo is less exciting than the age old TRINITY SYSTEM. There is a huge reason why ANET said that ELITE SPECS, are going to offer unique roles to combat in GW2. If they were fine, and the player base was fine with the ZERK META, then I believe these class changes would not be happening.

But clearly ANET and many others realize they missed their mark on letting the trinity go and incorporating something NEW. Iam not saying you need a TRINITY, but you need to offer something more than just DPS DPS DPS, STACK STACK STACK.

With the elite specs including druid’s healing role, it adds more variety to many unique players who dont want to be forced into ZERK GEAR ONLY PLS.

I have mained Mesmer since I started playing Guild Wars 2, back in November of 2012. I’ve watched Mr.Prometheus old extensive YouTube video about the profession, spent hours upon hours in PvP, PvE, and WvW. Yet before this latest patch, I always felt like, Mesmers always had to pull of intricate, puzzle like maneuvers in order to get any sort of decent damage in, compared to other professions easy burst combos.

That always frustrated me as a lover of the Profession. Now that our damage has been boosted up, across all builds of condi and power, other people are complaining. This truly displeases me because people are acting as if the class cannot be beaten now, but what I really see, are people whining about how they could kill the class before without thinking twice, but now, they actually have to work hard.

Ive always been on board with the fact that you guys needed an over haul. And for the most part stayed away from your forums due to the tremendous amount of whining that’s been going on for so long about said subject. Hell, You can hardly escape the subject in game…

However….

After the druid reveal, I would be quite upset myself.. And I support your cries for help. To be reduced to nothing but PVE heal bots. Talk about kicking a person when they’re down. Thankfully I retired mine long ago

Let the era of the Revenant begin…

Its nice to have Roy behind us. He actually cares about his job and had passion for the profession and elite spec he was creating. So luckily we were well taken care of, Sadly, Fate had it different for you Dragon Hunters and Druids

Ummm no.

From the start of the game, Anet’s vision was to replace the MMO Holy Trinity (hard trinity – tank, dps, healer) with their own “Soft Trinity” DPS, Support, Tank. With Support includes both offensive (crowd control, snare, debilitating conditions, etc.) and defensive (heal, block, reflect, etc.)

Professions/Classes are not locked into a certain role but rather you can customize your build to perform certain roles better than others.

While this trinity somewhat exists in PvP and WvW (GvG fight with frontline and backline formations), in PvE it totally fell short as current PvE contents are badly designed to favor DPS DPS DPS.

So Anet is trying hard to address this in the upcoming expansion to restore “the balance”. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

You need to sit down and relax. You express yourself as if you played every RAID wing. Every Squad that defeated the first RAID BOSS over the BWE3 weekend had a DRUID. As a matter of fact, the first KILL ever had a DRUID with them. ZERKER meta is over! Learn to accept the better change.

You assume my “Friends” carry me in dungeons. That alone shows how you try to base your opinions as facts and renders you useless in my eyes to further any debate with you.

And every person who cleared it said they might not need the Druid when they have the raid down.

With the amount of healing and defense other specs can bring on top of you own dodges and self heal and then a Chronomancer lowering the cooldown of all those skills what will a Druid bring with just more healing? Nothing. What would cause that extra amount of healing to be needed? Unmitagatable damage? As I already, thats an increadbly poor design decision.

Throw your zerk meta buzz words around all you want, once again proving anybody who uses that phrase doesn’t actually know what the Zerk meta is or why it is bad for the game, but nobody kittening mentioned it, nobody really cares if it goes and the other elite specs are doing a better job of taking the game away from that then braindead heal spam.

LOL!!!! You once again prove my point, you have no idea what you are talking about. Nothing but rants and rages. You must come from the future, where HoT has been out for a month or two. Smh… Poor thing. People will always speculate before something is RELEASED and believe their SPECULATIONS. Sadly that is what I call ignorance.

P.S: I guess when Irenio said the Zerker META was over during the live stream at Twitch con, he didnt know ANYTHING about the ZERK META. SMh Once again you spew forth idiotic opinions. Case closed honey pie

I have to disagree with Sorel and Jurica on my behalf, regarding Lockdown. I main Lockdown and when it comes to team fights I cannot stress how many times I’ve turned certain losing fights around for my teams favor, by the use of interrupts and AoE dazing. I utilize staff and sword/focus. A skilled lockdown player can offer team fights many unique benefits that a P-Shatter cannot. Lockdown is the hardest build to master but it also brings tons of rewards for skilled play. A master lockdown Mesmer is (IMO) truly
More terrifying than any shatter Mesmer.

(In 1v1 situations we are equally terrifying when played right, compared to the the bursty P-shatter Mesmer. I have downed enemy players in a matter of a few seconds. Applying my interrupts correctly and dazes, Sometimes I can pretty much shut a player down from even reacting at all, while damaging a player to the point of zero HP. Now I may not be able to burst him/her down faster than a P-shatter Mesmer, but downing a enemy player as a Lockdown Mesmer isn’t to far off regarding the time it takes to kill that player. It just takes skill and timing your dazes/interrupts. Lockdown Mesmers burst potential is not like a P-shatter but nonetheless we are a power build, and can hit like a truck.)

I enjoy being able to interrupt a stomp or even a ress when needed. Or even interrupting a Necromancer from going into Lich form. Most of all lockdown really shines when I can help shutdown enemy players during team fights in order for my team to effectively carry out their roles with ease. Even if the other team has a pesky thief on their side, I usually don’t have to worry about facing them. Major problem I have faced as a lockdown Mesmer is when the enemy team realizes what kind of Mesmer Iam, I become their main target from time to time during team skirmishes.

Now in no way am I saying screw P-Shatter, but realize that for now it may be more difficult to face a thief using that build (if you are using it). My advice is play what you enjoy. But do not neglect trying other builds out. Lockdown in particular is a unique Mesmer build that offers unique benefits to groups. I for one enjoy the benefits more than what a P-Shatter build offers.

Yes you will. Ppl loved when I was healing them in dungeons. Go away..

Unnecessary. Well glad the Druid is here, cannot believe we got by the last 3 years without it! What were they thinking waiting to put it in the game up until now! It’s almost like they’d designed the game for people to take care of themselves and do the content without one. Silly me.

Why yes, Silly you honey pie. I wonder where RAIDS came from… I wonder how you will “GET BY” without a DRUID in a RAID. Oh dear me, I just don’t know. Its just so amazing how they tried to create a SOFT TRINITY (At launch of GW2) and it failed, which created the ZERK meta which is SOO boring. DPS this DPS that. Oh dear me I cant believe now, that ANET finally realized this ZERK issue, and are now creating the SOFT trinity though Elite specs! They realized their mistake and are changing it for the better! Oh boo hoo what to do?

Embrace the change? Yes! Yes thats right! I think so! A wonderful NEW exciting change at that.

Good job, now go back and see where I typed the word Raid.

No need, I got my Point across. <(^o^)>

Unfortunately you went off on a unrelated topic and you’ve now realised that. Which is fine, at least you’re aware you don’t need a healer in dungeons.

Sigh, not every dungeon party will be ‘Zerker 80’ only. There will be many new players, and vets alike who wish to just enjoy a dungeon differently than running all zerker gear. Druid does not reinvent the dungeon zerker meta, it however creates a new FUN alternative to running it in a dungeon.

AC Path1 where you have to keep HODGINS alive, is one example of fun and a new alternative way to running that dungeon path in that moment. Healing Hodgins is def an option to keeping him alive. Especially when you are with new players or those who dont know about the dungeon path.

I cannot express how many times people loved my HEALING in the dungeons I ran during BWE3. No one hated that I was there healing them. I actually gave many a positive outlook on the druid and its support healing.

Here’s one! Lol

Iam a Druid main! All clerics gear with Superior runes of the Monk. I love being full support with some DMG. I use Staff and Greatsword.

My heals are high and I love that. I beat a Ele, Engi, guard, and rev is burst heals with some sustain. In PvP Iam able to tank at most 3 players.
In PvE I help keep people alive as much as possible during dynamic events, especially in Dragons Stand.

I find that having a GS versus axe/warhorn has given me access to better DMG and since our glyphs are only 300-600 radius, I can easily use them in combo with my GS. I use all glyphs btw and I really love their concepts. However glyphs could use a buff and staff as well. Glyph range is not big enough, and staff DMG and healing (besides ancestral grace) is to low. However staff is still a GOOD weapon an I will always use it, it’s just not as good as it should be IMO.

Anyway, the Druid in General is really fun and strong, with the BESt heals in the game. You can really turn the tides in PVP by keepin your team alive. No other class can bring their teams HP to full and keep it there with bursty heals. In PvE our heals are keeping players and even NPC HP at full. To say the least… I love it. Jus needs a few upgrades to glyphs and staff .

Unfounded?
The fact that people have been discussing it since beta would suggest that there were indeed things pointing towards it, ergo not unfounded.

The supporters have been arguing it despite continuous evidence against the theory. All evidential support they had was debunked upon release.

But ArenaNet goes and make the most illogical, asinine, and ridiculous but “common” theory canon lore.

It’s pretty kitten clear this wasn’t the fate of the sylvari upon their creation or during release.

What’s next? The gods are the Elder Dragons after all?

I don’t know, just because player were able to guess it doesn’t mean its bad. Remember the series Lost? You know where the writers were so determined to be smarter than the audience that they purposefully took the series into the most stupidest directs? Yeah, I’d rather ANet not do that.

Too late, they’re going in the most stupidest directions.

It’s just that they’re giving the vocal fans what they think they want.

The NPE was this as well.

It’s become clear to me: ArenaNet has someone or someones who’s too kitten sensative to their feelings over their work that they intentionally kitten it up in a way to make it into what the players claim to want.

What’s next, Anet? Kormir no longer is a god, it is the PC from GW1?

I think this “revelation” is utterly bullkitten because 1) the “theory” has been debunked time and time again by the game itself and 2) sylvari being dragon minions (purified or otherwise) has always come off to me as a terrible story decision to try and take, as not only are they nothing like the pre-established dragon minions, but I feel that this would destroy the uniqueness and the entire concept of the sylvari being “a brand new race born in a time of turmoil”. We have many stories that feature races, nations, and other groups struggling to survive a time of great turmoil in various degrees, but just about every single one of these races/nations/groups are well established, or are a rebirth, but never – or very, very rarely – the beginning of the race who do not know why they were born into a world on the brink of the end. To reveal that “why” as “you are descendants of the world-enders!” is just plain silly and unimaginative to me.

How exactly was that theory unfounded. When it all came down to it, it does justify how Sylvari can be consumed by nightmare and how it’s virtually impossible to bring them back to the light as they are originally made to be Mordremoth’s minions and that all Ventari did was to show them the path to the light.

The theory that Nightmare was Mordremoth’s corruption was an entirely different – and actually supported – theory that made some semblance of sense, unlike the “sylvari are dragon minions” ‘theory’ (and I use that word very loosely).
————————————————————————————————-
Dear ArenaNet, I don’t kittening care about your story anymore. Congratulations. You just managed to ruin one of your biggest fans since 2006, one of the biggest contributors to the wikis until last year, and someone who was eager to be part of your company until that same point last year. You had a chance to bring me back. I’ve been patient with you, hoping that despite the constant continuity errors that the Living World (especially Season 2) adds in, that you’d fix your path. Well, it’s obvious you didn’t. You decide, once more, to go with the “rule of cool” and ignore this fascinating thing called logic and continuity.

Congratulations, ArenaNet, and goodbye.

If you see me in-game, it isn’t for the story anymore. It’s for the mindless acts of killing pixels. Though Quake does a better job at that.

I haven’t even played Episode 8, but this single spoiler makes me not want to. To think I was actually looking forward to the update today. But no more. If I do play it, it’ll be to complete the Carapace and Luminescent armor, or to satiate a potentially inevitable curiosity about how, exactly, they decided the kitten up.

It’s been good knowing you lore community, but this is my last straw. If you see me on this forum again, it’d be habit and no more.

Edit: Oh, and it’s been said in an interview/by Caithe in TA story (I can never recall which and wiki doesn’t have all TA story dialogue up) that Faolain was, indeed, the first to encounter Nightmare – however, she didn’t fully fall into it until much alter, when Cadeyrn, already fallen to Nightmare, pulled her into it, where she then replaced him as leader of the Nightmare Court.

Oh hush, stop throwing a temper tantrum. Everything will be ok. Besides I actually like being a dragon minion. Everyone has opinions, this doesn’t mean the game is going down a bad route.

How do we know Mordremoths name?

in Lore

Posted by: Purecura.1795

Purecura.1795

Pretty much a case of “characters knew it, but the player didn’t” and wasn’t properly revealed as such to players.

As Calcifire said, Priory knew it via “The Scroll of the Five True Gods” which is the Priory’s leading information on the Elder Dragons (as of S2, suddenly; previously it was dwarven legends and ancient tomes like the Tome of Rubicon, or jotun stelae).

Hmm well hopefully ANET doesn’t mess something like that up again. Where did the “Scroll of the Five gods” come from? How does one find out the name of an elder dragon? I’ve heard plenty of Sylvari turned Mordrem utter his name during the BETA, and we all heard some of Zhaitans minions speak his name. Does one gain knowledge on the name of the Dragon they face through the dragon’s minions, who will speak its name? Or are there other methods to gaining the names?

I wonder how the Dwarves, the Jotun, and who ever wrote in the “Scroll Of The Five Gods” came to acquire the Dragon names listed. I wonder their method(s) on gaining such knowledge. Specifically Mordremoth.

see… this is your problem… you come in here and imply that only LGBT people are friendly and social… I’m very straight and I love socially chatting with random people for fun… but you’ve made the assumption that you’ll only get that experience from the LGBT community… I would assume that the LGBT community would be above making sweeping negative generalizations about others since… you know… but apparently you’re not… I’m actually offended at this and its pretty hard to offend me…

You assumed wrong, I did not imply that I only want to speak and communicate with Gay people, but with all people including my LGBT community. Simple as that.

My vote goes to Necromancer.

It needs improvements like no other class. In PvE no one wants a necro in their dungeon runs. This saddens me because besides Mesmer, Necro is my second favorite class. I only main Necro now, and I should be able to enjoy the game without being rejected from playing with others during dungeon runs due to being a Necromancer.

All players, no matter their profession, should be able to enjoy all forms of gameplay, ( PvE, WvW, PvP ) not just certain ones.

Here’s the thing. Dungeons got a nerf via rewards. Nobody is going to care about dungeons as much as they did before. Will Druid be nice in harder fractals and raids where they are NOW pushing rewards and focus? Yep.

So argue all day about how Druid isn’t important. It’s not going to get you anywhere but a few wasted posts on a forum thread.

I find that it’s going to be great even in dungeons. I like to solo / duo dungeons and this is a new and fun way to do it. But I guess the only thing in this game that really matters is how much skill it takes to stack and press 1. XD

Chrono Trait Line VS Illusions Trait Line

in Mesmer

Posted by: Purecura.1795

Purecura.1795

What I liked about the new alacricity, Double-shatter phantasms, and extra clone-on-shatter was that it provides an alternative for Deceptive Evasion. You can still build around shatters without needed the constant shatter-fuel from the Dueling line, which is super appealing to me!

Chrono seemed to emphasize control/support rather than raw damage. I’d imagine folks who want shatter-dependent damage will probably still see a lot more use from the Illusion line than the Chronomancy line, but can’t say for sure until we see all the traits.

Chrono seems like…. death by papercuts. A strong shatter build is still like a nice big stab in the face.

I agree with this. It’s not stated that the ELITE Specializations will be better than the core Mesmer, however it will offer a new form of gameplay. Specifically with the chrono, who is more about control and support rather than damage. If one wishes to shatter for pure damage I’am going to assume, the player should stay away from the chrono line to some extent.

The developers did say that elite specializations, will focus more on a specific ROLE during gameplay, more than our core Professions.

Best Race for Mesmer?

in Mesmer

Purecura.1795

Well LOREWISE, Id have to say:

1. Humans – Human Mesmers from a lore point of view value the arts, they are very charming and also value the latest trends in fashion. Most human Mesmers, (Male or Female ) are flamboyant in appearance. They carry themselves in a very classy manner and are also known to be apart of the Human political government, and noble population within Human society. Human Mesmers, patron Goddess is Lyssa, the goddess of water and duality.

2. Sylvari – Sylvari Mesmers, may appear very mysterious, charming as well, and elegant. Sharing certain personality traits with Human Mesmers to also add. However they do not have interest within fashion from a Human frame of mind. They of course value their leafy attire, as most Sylvari do, regardless of profession. Sylvari Mesmers share similarities with other Sylvari who practice other forms of magic, so not much else to add.

3. Norn- Norn Mesmers, from what I’ve seen and read, worship Raven. Raven seems to be a patron for Norn Mesmers. I believe Norn Mesmers, are rather cunning, and secretive. However, Norn Mesmers do not have a interest for the arts, fashion, or elegance as Human Mesmers would.

4. Asura- Asuran Mesmers, do not hold any differences or similarities from other Mesmers, they see mesmeric spellcraft as another Magical art to use. To put it simply, Asuran Mesmers personality is not affected really by being a Mesmer like other races.

5. Charr- No… Charr’s dislike and do not trust magic. Even though there are some Charr who practice Magic, it seems they’d hate Mesmer magic out of all. No to Charr. No no no!

At the end of the day, I’d have to say Humans make the perfect Mesmers. They truly embrace the Mesmeric spellcraft beyond its combat capabilities. They utilize the magic within their appearance, fashion, entertainment, politics, and personality. You can usually tell when someone May be a Mesmer in Human society, by the way they carry themselves in a confident, classy, charming manner.

Hope this helps.

The Great Mesmer Collective in HoT???

in Mesmer

Posted by: Purecura.1795

Purecura.1795

I posted a similar thread in the General discussion forum. But like I mentioned there, I’d thought I’d mention here with my Mesmer family.

I’am truly hoping to get more lore surrounding our profession, as well as others knowing that Revenant is coming out and we will need a lore on that class. Conveying that, I’am also hoping that we get to see more of this mysterious, great, and beautiful Mesmer Collective that Countess Anise and Kasmeer are apart of. We do not know much about them at all, so I hope with the expansion, we will get more story on the organization of Elite Mesmers in Heart Of Thorns.

For anyone curious about the Mesmer Collective, here is the Wiki page for it.
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mesmer_Collective

( Edit: I found a interview with Angel McCoy, the woman behind the Lore and story for GW2. She states that there are Mesmeric Spells that are so powerful that only the most elite within the Mesmer community have the ability to use them. Here is a response from McCoy herself.

Esprits d’Orr : Are the illusions created by mesmers visible to anybody or only to the caster and the spell target ?

Angel McCoy : This depends. Casting an illusion that can only be seen by one person is an extremely advanced skill as it requires getting directly into an individual’s mind. Only the most skilled of mesmers can do this, and mesmers don’t talk about this ability. If people were to find out that mesmers could do this, it would prejudice people against mesmers and damage the trust and love mesmers work so hard to inspire in others.

No documentation of this ability exists outside the Mesmer community because the targets of this kind of spell don’t realize they’ve been duped. No one else can corroborate their experience either, so…it’s often explained away as battle fatigue. Even within the mesmer community, knowledge of this kind of spell is “need to know” only, which means only the most elder and experienced are initiated into the circle.)

Druid Healer Confirmed - Feedback [merged]

The druid spec and gear synergies don’t mix at all with the rest of the weapons or traits.

The other specializations and weapons shine in berzerker or sinister/rabid setups, which don’t benefit remotely from the cleric/shaman centric focus and all the redundant healing traits and skills on the druid.

It’s going to be a complete clash.

Either spec cleric/shaman and heal well with the druid, while doing GARBAGE damage with the rest of your weapons and utilities, or spec berzerker/rabid/sinister and do well with the other weapons but have little synergy with the staff and celestial form.

Celestial Form in fact is a DPS nerf to the ranger, you enter a form purely centered on healing with no offensive aspect.

I also am not happy how the druid shifted from a natural theme to some celestial theme out of the blue. It’s not related to a wild, natural theme.

umm, its both astral and nature. The cosmos and the stars are as much apart of nature. Wether a leaf on the ground, or a distant star, all are apart of nature. Shamans from many types of lore, focus their energies not just on nature, but cosmic bodies.
