Showing Posts For PyroRobby.1987:
LOL, looked up Silverwaste and how to get there, then started learning what to do and gathering materials. By Saturday night I had made my Ascension longbow. Doing the events and running with the “box trains” has shown that in fact getting a full ascension set is going to be somewhat of a cakewalk, only maybe easier as it is fairly well guaranteed that the materials needed to craft ascension gear will pile up faster than I had ever expected.
Review of my material list for a Vision crystal I find after just this weekend I have:
2,662 Piles of Bloodstone Dust.
3,016 Dragonite Ore.
1,547 Empyreal Fragments.
126 Obsidian Shards.
So as it looks now, ascension gear is going to easy to come by. Not really sure though that there is that much of a stat increase; but for min/maxing any increase is a plus. Then, what else am I going to do with all this stuff taking up inventory space?

NOW NOW NOW NOW. I WANT MY TOY NOW.
Seriously, this generation…
Seriously. I know right? These influx of new players complaining on the forums about time gating or the ridiculous amount of mats for crafting ascended/legendary is surreal. Its END GAME GEAR! If I took the time to make it so shall you. Stop being entitled brats.
You should have read post above you’re post. GG
ya ya, we complained …
It is just shocking to be hit with when you are new/returning and to realize the gating. I wouldn’t call it “End game” gear though, it is just slightly better. I can see though how it fits in. I just don’t like the term involving “End”. Maybe gear that requires a Level Of Effort and shows the player has time in the game. Gear that shows the player has reached a higher level of achievement due to level of effort. Maybe call it Ascension gear, as the player as reached new heights from time put into game play.
When new players get into a game and play against veteran players that have all the best stuff, in some games that “Best stuff” is a great advantage and makes the new player experience really rough in PVP and somewhat unwanted in PVE because of gear disparity. However here, disparity isn’t so vastly different that you are really at that extreme a disadvantage. So where it is shocking being somewhat new and looking at the mat list for the slight upgrade, it is reasonable to make something special for players that have done it day after day for a long time and just happen to have a ton of mats in their inventory. I mean, play for years and there be nothing new, nothing special that makes it fun everyday you login. No, this game is providing something special for those that put in the time.
When I return to other games I have played for 10 years and have things no longer in game, I enjoy that. When I have stuff that took a long time to get, it feels rewarding to have them. The memory of it all is a value.
It is a setback to realize I cannot just make the ascended gear after 6 weeks of game play; but I realize that if I continue to play, the mats will pile up over time and the move to ascension is something to look forward to in time. Then what after I get full ascension. New skins, new xpac, new something … or not. There being a gate to ascension seems justified in that perspective, just shocking at first to realize what is involved.
Thinking it all over though it makes sense now. Not that much difference stat wise; but slightly better and very hard to get, unless you have been playing for a while and have an overflow of the mats in your inventory.

uhh… what do I know? I use Assassin mostly; but carry 3 set variations in my inventory and every weapon I can equip.
Having leveled a fresh Ranger to 80 and trying:
1) condition build and bleed/poison weapons and traits.
2) vital/tough build and mele weapons. (all exotic sentinel set)
3) Build base on greatsword/longbow and what gear type got the best results, trying several different full exotic set builds.
What seems to be working best for me is not actually Berserker; but rather Assassin. With over 60% chance to crit, traits/wep-sigs set for bleeds and heal on crit, pet heals on crit, using longbow/great sword, this is the choice I am loving for now.
Plus and minuses.
Plus, works great and allows me to solo big bad bosses.
Minus, have to use dodge, stay out of bad, not much health buffer or mitigation.
So if i utilize my pets well in swapping them so they keep health and agro, watch out for AOE and dodge roll incoming clobber attacks, Greatsword/Longbow/Assassin has been better than Zerker. At first I thought Sentential was the best choice; but wasn’t getting the damage out. Condition build would do well for massive AOE; but then that just always had me swarmed constantly by all the agro and in 1v1 was lacking I felt. Where condition build was tossed out for me, though it does work well, was due to having to choose specific weapons and I preferred the skills granted by Greatsword/Longbow more so for my play style. So after determining that I wanted to use Greatsword/Longbow, I then reviewed the gear and traits. It was then I looked into a crit build and tried Assassin. I have a full set of zerker exotic in my inventory and compared it to the Assassin using Greatsword/Longbow and get better results with Assassin.
Hard hitting damage with 60+% crit (50% is likely enough), 220%+ crit damage and healing when I crit along with bleeds on crit, has worked well for me to the point I liked it way better than zerker.
Conclusion: not everybody is playing zerker, where we referring to a specific class and not a Ranger? With zerker I think i had less than 50% crit and the way the 60% bleed works and 50% heal works on a less than 50% chance to crit, just wasn’t good enough for that to be what I choose for my play style.
As for the various encounters that have immunities, switching gear and builds means having several sets to customize for an encounter. Flexibility then is useful.

It is now very easy to get the mats. Seeing as most you can get from the TP. The stuff needed to get the vision crystal are easy to het now too. Use to be a pain. Just go to silverwasts and chest farm. You’ll get the 500 of each mat needed in a few days. It was added as it was intended to be in the game at launch. The time gate and the cost in mats was done to add value to lesser mats, and so that people with a lot of gold wouldn’t just have it the day it came out. And made it something people to aim for.
ya, I can understand the added value and that to keep crafting useful after leveled that each incrementation of next best set would logically be exponential. The “y to the x” for upper level crafting here though makes for a really sharp curve, lol.
Thank you for the feedback though, since this game has been really on the mark in every area that other games annoy me, it seemed surely I was missing information here as to the how to on crafting ascended gear. “go to silverwast(e)s and chest farm”, I will look that up. Since I haven’t played for years and now back having played for maybe 6 weeks, leveling a fresh Ranger to 80 and getting 73% of the map completed, there is still much to do and know. It has been a really enjoyable return though. People are friendly and helpful and the overall experience of game play has been way better than what I was getting elsewhere.
Having returned to GW2 after maybe a couple years now, it has been enjoyable. For the most part all the things I didn’t like about other games, this game does the way I think it should be done. In fact, I really don’t have any complaints about the game and nothing that annoys me like in other games. At this point if somebody would be expecting this to be a lead up to “But…”, I guess I would say I don’t really like the mystic forge as it is just so wasteful it seems for what you get so even when I was playing a few years back I realized that and just remember that I do not want to use it for anything ever.
When I decided last night that I may actually have most the materials to go ahead and craft an ascended weapon, I preceded to do so. Then got to the part for the “Vision Crystal” and looked up the how to make/get. OMG REALLY? Just didn’t seem like the weapon stats were that much better than the exotic I have already to require so many BOA drops. At this point I am not sure I care to think about ascended weapons and gear, just seems impractical and way out of reach.
Anybody care to discuss what I am not understanding like:
1) How easy it is to get the mats and make ascended gear.
2) The reasoning behind gating the access to slightly better than exotic gear in such a way.
3) What should I be doing to get the next level of awesomeness and why I should ignore crafting.
Updated: getting the mats is way faster and easier than I had any clue of.
Hint: Silverwaste “Box train”.

Yes, actually I am enjoying it quite a lot. Had left the game for maybe a year or so, played several other games and then left Archeage and did the WoD expac. Only took about 2 months of WoD to be done with that. Did the new SWTOR expac and enjoyed it; but it isn’t holding my interest to continue playing it everyday. Bought all the TSW updates from Tokyo and went to playing it again, it is a great story line but the quest are arduous and exhausting, so it is shelved and played very very slowly, not at all now since picking up GW2 again.
GW2 I already had a level 80 necro; but on return I just didn’t remember anything about the game, so I started a Ranger from scratch. Bought a lot of gems for skins and gold to level my crafting as I quested and out leveled my gear. Did WvW at 18 and thought that not a good idea, so I just continued leveling my Ranger and to hit 80 was maybe 2 weeks play. As I played, solo, I came to realize in comparison to other games I have played people in this game are actually very pleasant to be around and helpful. The quest are fun and plentiful and all the things I don’t like about other games this games handles nicely.
Personally I am one that usually has a phobia with grouping as it gives me anxiety to group, due to so many bad experiences with players in other games; but I gave grouping a try just yesterday and rather enjoyed the experience. Where a month ago I bought the pre-order of Witcher 3 and it should be available soon for download, I will download it; but I fairly sure I will be playing GW2 a lot still as the return has been a great experience.
they have stated that they are working to make the last story step a solo dungeon no time frame on when that will be complete.
for the other dungeons i wouldent hold my breath of them ever becoming solo instances.
you dont have to ask anyone to group list yourself on the looking for group tab.
just type in “New watching movies” and it will fill up with like minded people
Thank you, that is helpful information. Maybe I will get the nerve to try that. Really though, when I say I get anxiety in a group, it is hard to explain the magnitude and overwhelming nature of that.
This is a great game though and I find it does many things the way I think they should be done.
Born April 16th 1957, that makes me 58. Honestly, it also makes it really difficult for me to feel comfortable in a group. My tendency is to just solo play, avoid looking for a group or getting in team speak or the like. Love to play, hate drama and I don’t feel comfortable socializing.
Having returned after maybe 2+ years, freshly leveling a ranger and having traits to get, places to go, things to see and content not yet done, it has hit me that I am expected to group up or so it seems. Getting guild invites and accepting, then finding when I log in nobody is on, day after day, for many last log in was long long time ago, the grouping thing is a bit of an impediment to progressing the content when there is no group to be had or worse I get anxiety asking to group. I know there are lots of active players and large guilds that are playing all the time, folks that are knowledgeable in the game and friendly. Things is, I have had so many bad grouping experiences, in other games, I don’t think I can effectively enjoy seeking out a group anymore to do multi-player content.
MMO yes, I get it. Still it is very enjoyable to just login when I feel like goofing off in an unreal world and running a muck. Crossing paths with group or other solo players, give help, a rez, or have the same done for me, then move along through semi-mindless game play, solo. The thing is, I am not an expert in this game nor do I really have a clue what is expected of me in a group or what any dungeon will throw at the group. No clue about what role I should provide or anything. This annoys other players in other games, fair guess it would in any game. I don’t want to annoy anybody, just play and figure stuff out for myself as I progress through content. I don’t want to have to study the content before hand.
My intent on returning was the PVP side, I always enjoyed casual pvp. Not rated play, min/max play with assigned role and a “job”. Just play. So when I go to WvW I am “a roamer” I guess. I just returned though and only have exotic gear and few trait to set, lots more to go earn. Then when I do go into a WvW adventure, it is zerg vs me or 1 enemy player against me and unfair numbers. Well it is what it is and to amuse myself I decided to just see how much content I can do and get all my traits. This is when I realized the final story quest wasn’t the only thing that is telling me I have to group. The thought of grouping just gives me anxiety and I cannot bring myself to even try it.
So, all that said. I was just wondering if there has been discussion of a single player mode for the dungeons. It was a curve ball to have done my story quest all in single player mode to get to the last one and have to group up. Traits we all need to tune our character performance; but now I have to group to get them? Likely I will never group, because it gives me anxiety. That’s my issue of course and just the way I am wired. Any chance there will ever be a single player mode for what is story quest / trait acquisition or am I just out of luck?
LOL, oh … duh!
ya, invisible bag thing. I knew it seemed weird and should be able to place it on the trade market. Sure enough, moved the set to another bag and no problem.
After making a couple sets of armor, one to wear and two to sell, I equipped the set to wear and put one setup to trade. No issues there that worked just fine. The traded item was a sentinel set that I bought the insignias off the trade, crafted a set and then put it up for sale. When I went to put up the Assassin’s set though, there was no option to sell on trade. It isn’t soul bound or account bound, why will it not allow me the selection to put up on trade?
My return here recently, the suggestion to start a new character was a good one. Though I have a level 80 necro, relearning all the skills, traits, map, crafting, locations … etc. It is just easier to start a new character and experience it all from the beginning again.
For me, I just bought another character slot and started a Ranger, as I hadn’t ever made or played a Ranger. They are not so complicated and move quickly through the content. My Ranger now has made it to 70, just after playing 2 weeks. This week I am fairly sure I will hit 80. Zero dungeons have I run and haven’t joined any guild yet either. All solo play so far and that has gone just fine.
My return was the same though, didn’t know my way around. It surprises me though the replies you are getting are jumping to conclusions about “your afk spot”. I didn’t read where you said anything other that where you logged off last is confusing now because it has all changed. When I logged out last time it was in Lions Arch as well. That is where i liked to craft and hit the auction and it was central to the map. Returning I couldn’t find anything either.
Just start a new character and look for the spyglass icon and heart icons on the map, press “M” for map. Those will tell you where you have and have not been, what level the area is and where to pick up quest not yet done. It has been rather enjoyable returning and folks have treated me well.
For all that offered encouragement, facts and honest feedback, it is appreciated. I would suggest that any newcomer be encouraged to sample WvW and choose for themselves when they wish to step up and do WvW. Experience will vary depending on fore knowledge, gear, solo-play / guild play and many other variables surely.
My experience in tandem with my play style and lack of fore knowledge has me siding with the school of thought that solo play at low level can be a rough experience and you may not be all that helpful to your team, so you shouldn’t expect to enjoy it as well sub level 80. My experience was very limited though so again I would stress each player choose for themselves, you may have a much better experience than did I. That being said there is much to know.
WvW is not just two massive teams brawling. There is a leader and coordinated effort. If you are not part of the communication connection, versed in your utility role, aware of your surroundings and the team goal, your enjoyment factor may suffer and you find yourself not getting much more accomplished than feeding the red players. Based on thinking these things the case, my perspective is don’t solo queue WvW and don’t expect to be the hero sub level 80.
Personally I wish I could say the experience will be equally fun at 18 as 80 and solo queue also equally fun; but from my perspective WvW isn’t really facilitating the solo queue play style. Should it is another topic completely and I am not qualified to offer an opinion on that at this point in time.

@Hexin
Ty, for the information. This is a great game and my wish is for it to see an influx of PVPers that are getting burned out in other games. Perfection is nowhere, I do not expect perfection. I am enjoying my return. PVP will be found, I’m kinda a badie right now so I have time to ramp up and then seek out the brawlers.
To all that have offered feedback, it is appreciated.
It is good to come to a forum where reasonable adults exchange thoughts … and trolls are not see or heard.
If WvW is not balanced in group size and gear … well we know what this is like and I think there has been a lot of discussion of smaller groups. This seems like a group would then be just part of a guild and no solo player would ever get in. New players could not participate then. This may be better though for the experienced and skilled players and I am OK with that. I just need a baby pool where I can learn to swim, gain the gear I need, meet other PVPers, prove myself, then be invited to swim with the sharks. Did I miss something, do we have that already? If so I missed the memo.
Just specific to this part, We occasionally get entirely new players in the guild, and guilds we are aligned with. I do not know about the other new players, but those I have experience with seem to find it reasonably well.
I do think some of that has to do with WvW style game play and RvR being more common in recent MMOs so players are a little more familiar, either via experience, or reading up on it, then they used to be.
To me it seemed like a conflict of what I expected, expectations set by the questing experience, and a shift from just wandering up solo to a group and joining in and how that is ineffective to the effort when in WvW. That is when questing solo, I don’t have to group. When doing WvW yes, I don’t “have to group”; but If I am not in a group, plugged into the com channel and dancing on queue, I am not helping and will likely just be the idiot nub that dies a lot.
Much more is involved in WvW. Gear, Utility, organization, skill execution on queue … like being in a PVE dungeon from what it appears to be. I am sure this is a blast to the veterans. To the new comer it is a reversal of the norm and without the speed buffs, gear, fore knowledge of intent … one just feels more like an appetizer for the reds.
In short I wouldn’t recommend WvW to the new solo casual player. More so, I do not know where the fresh solo PVP’r goes to get geared and learn all while having a fair chance to enjoy the experience. I know the game is “Guild Wars” and that has implications; but all the questing can be done solo just fine. Is the deal here pecking order, your food til geared and still food then util you are in the bigger zerg? The feedback so far seems to be, join a Guild kid and learn to dance.
I see, ya. going to be tough going as a solo-queue.
Blackgate is my home server.
WvW seems like it can be fun; but it seems it really isn’t setup for walk-ins that solo-queued. Maybe in time I will get better and it not be so rough. Perhaps back to leveling my ranger and maybe I will WvW later on or move on.
Honest to goodness the best thing you can do is find a WvW raid guild that does it all the time or specialize in roaming. People still sometimes fuss WvW takes no skill it’s all zergs etc. and while there is some truth to those complaints, the fact is there is a learning curve there.
Learn not to die without understanding exactly why you died. Sometimes it is simply just “We were outnumbered”. But more often there’s a technical reason you had some limited control over: I didn’t time my elite correctly, I was in the wrong position, my traits aren’t good for the situation, etc. That’s the first lesson and the hardest.
True, I can see that.
When I was looking for the best MMOPVP and GW2 surfaced, MOBAs and other strategy games also surfaced. Now I see why. WvW involves a lot of coordinated effort from what I can tell. Honestly I was just looking for big brawls, where I can casually queue and start crossing paths and dot’n eyes. WvW seems like the fights don’t go down in the fashion of a cluster of a bunch of 1v1, 2v1, 3v1 and players pushing into a group and brawling with healers healing and tanks tanking and everybody “kungfu fighting” sorta thing.
The zerg fighting is also fun; but in this game from what I can tell it requires being in a group and doing the dance on queue like doing PVE dungeons. That is different from what I remember GW2 being like, as it always seemed to support solo play very well for the questing and world events. Having played a whole two days WvW at level 18 the 1st day and my 80 the 2nd, lol what do I know about it really. Well … that right now I really am just looking for casual brawls that I can expect somewhat fair odd of winning or losing as a solo queue. Perhaps I expect too much. Likely will just goof off and quest, maybe PVP in another game where being a filty casual is more common.

This post is not a post from me claiming to know anything about this game, it is simply feedback from a perception gained on returning to this game after a couple years.
Questing is still fun and fast, the classes enjoyable, players friendly and helpful. At least my retuning experience has been pleasant. Casual PVP is how I like to spend evenings playing a friendly MMO for hours. Per google query GW2 MMOPVP rates highly.
WvW is a kind of weird experience though after just two nights of trying it out solo-queue. It doesn’t seem like something intended for a casual solo-queue player. I don’t have a problem with that and do not want to open any wounds or start any trouble, that is not my intent. My intent is to describe the new player experience in effort to aid those making suggestions how this could all be better.
New players to WvW, that are solo, clueless and trying to just tag along, don’t seem welcome, helpful or accepted. I don’t have a problem with that and from what I can tell the WvW is way more involved and requiring an experienced and geared guild structure than structured for random clueless players to just join in and have fun.
So why would I mention this? If GW2 is to not just slowly die from players slowly bleeding away, it needs to accommodate new players joining. I am not saying change anything for me, I am saying if there was some type of “fail-safe self help” to assist new players learn the path to being useful as a solo player in PVP that would help bring in new players. What seems lacking is a “handrail” to entering PVP the way one needs to in order to ramp up and be ready, useful and desired.
Looking for quest and a roadmap to in what order I should move from one location to another, isn’t completely intuitive. I just have to open the maps I guess and scroll over hearts to see what i haven’t done and what level the area is. Likewise for PVP, it seems I cannot just solo-queue walk-in and start attacking reds while hovering around a group of friendlies.
My suggestions would be in order to accommodate a fun experience, which lends itself to attracting new players to stay, some kind of road map to when to do what and what you need to succeed self-help would contribute. Plenty of help can be found from other players, the forum and google etc. This should be in game though. When I am told I qualify for PVP now and want to try it, I should be able to go in to a “baby pool” so to say and learn to swim. I’m sure the sharks enjoy this not being the case; but the team I join is not going to babysit and I understand that.
If WvW is not balanced in group size and gear … well we know what this is like and I think there has been a lot of discussion of smaller groups. This seems like a group would then be just part of a guild and no solo player would ever get in. New players could not participate then. Got on my Necro with the build out suggested. Had the gear in my bag too. Practiced a little on some NPCs and it was rocking nicely. So yesterday evening after work and a short nap I decided to try the WvW on my 80 Necro. I guess I just don’t know what I am doing and am way behind the curve.
We seem to be out numbered for one and not very organized. The groups seem clickish; but that could just be a perception of a lousy new player that isn’t really contributing any help. I spawned in instantly, implying to me the battle was not full for our side. Then looked for dots on the map to go group up with them. Trying to catch up to a group isn’t easy. Then when you get there they may very well port to another location and I find myself chasing after the group a lot.
When I did finally get to encounter 1v1, they opened with a stun/knockdown and 1 shotted me. I am not in pvp gear I am in yellow crafted gear and got 1 shotted. Was still feeling tired it had been a hard day of work so I logged and just watched Netflix. Apparently for me to do WvW, more is involved than just showing up and casting spells on the enemy.
It does look like the others are playing well though and having fun. Also seemed like half my server was standing around in one of the two bases and only small groups were running around. Often avoiding the red players. Perhaps it was a time of day we were just way outnumbered and out geared? Being level 80 in crafted yellows and getting 1 shotted inside a stun seems like a gear disparity problem. I dunno seems I am behind the curve here and not catching on very fast. Guessing the biggest issue is it has just been so long since I played GW2 that I just don’t know what I am doing anymore. I am not getting the feeling in the WvW that strangers are always welcome either.
Oh well just guess I need to spend more time and learn more, then try again another day.

@TooBz.3065
Thank you for the necro build information. I shall review that and try it out. The only reason I was making a ranger was because I didn’t remember anything about this game as it has been so long since I played. Mostly I just want to PVP now. Yesterdays WvW run tells me not now on my lvl 18 Range; but may now on my 80 Necro.
Again Thank you, I check out the build on my Necro.
Thanks everybody for the info.
Whoa …. went in yesterday as a fresh 18 Ranger. Ran here and there chasing dots on the maps, seems I wasn’t able to travel as fast as others. Eventually I did catch up with some groups and tag along. Not sure my damage had any significance. Then at times I missed the queue we were leaving and would be left straggling a few steps behind the group. Invariably 2 – 5 reds would pop out of nowhere like they had been stealth or something and open with a stun/knockdown that allowed them to kill me inside the stun. When I did get a chance to open on them i was doing like 45 dammage and they were 2 – 3 shotting me it seemed.
Played for a few hours, got a bunch of boxes and 250 honor. The play seemed mostly zerg vs zerg where both teams tried flanking the other; but all attacks were from range. Traps and bad all over the ground it seemed the strategy was to lure the other team into a trap then over-run the slow movers.
We agree that it is likely a better idea to just level up first. Better for the team and the experience factor will likely be much better at level. Character progression was from 18 to 19 after maybe a couple hours, not sure how long I was in there i didn’t time it; but it seems was slower than if I had been questing. Died about 5 times. Solo capped 4 flags and assisted the group cap another 4 or 5 points. Eventually I just didn’t feel effective and the experience was a bit rough, kinda exhausted too, so I jumped into a portal and left the BG.
I shall go ahead and level before doing that again. However I might get on my 80 necro and try it before I get my Ranger to level. It does seem like getting in a guild and opening web voice chat is expected, so just popping in solo and with no communications isn’t going to make for good game play.
Ty, well then .. BANZAI!
The point to playng GW2 again, after I dunno maybe 2+ years, was massive PVP battles. Survey says: play GW2.
So, now I have hit 18 and got a memo clicky thing telling me I am all grown up now and can do WvW, OK that’s kewl. Of course this leads to questions.
1) If I click on the WvW icon, solo queue basically, what kind of ride am I in for? (Human on Blackgate)
2) I dunno crap about any of the battles, how is that going to play out with the team and my uh … virgin experience?
3) Will WvW give me experiance that helps me level, so that I could just WvW from now on?
4) If I just WvW from now on do I get access to PVP gear, good PVP gear and the currency I need in game for the stuff I will need to make gear, buy gear, progress?
5) What did I forget to ask that I will want to know?
Please explain or link a tutorial video. I am a returning player that hasn’t played in well over a year, maybe 2 years. WPVP is the lure and the info I have read rates GW2 PVP as the MMO with the best PVP, that suits my play style.
Having played PVP in WildStar, WoW, Rift as well as having played SWTOR and TSW, PVP is all the attracts me when all is said and done. Thing is, MMOs are bad about no explanation and that leads to senior players having anxiety attacks over things a clueless new player will do.
The photo posted doesn’t explain anything to me as to the problem. Since it has been a while, even though I have a level 80 character in reasonably nice gear, I have started a new Ranger from scratch as to get the hang of the game again. Reading the OP statement and reviewing the photo, tells me there are things I will need to know as not to make mistakes and bring down the team. Where can I find the information regarding WvW battle Do and Do not Do tutorials?
Ty for the quick responses and offer for help. Seriously considering buying another character slot and starting from scratch, it does seem the most logical. Checking into the characters lot now.
Again thank you for the helpful feedback.
It has been a long time since last I played GW2, not sure how long. Due to enjoying WPVP and feeling somewhat repelled by WoD I have recently gone back to playing SWTOR and TSW. Googling for where is the best MMOPVP GW2 seems to top the list and surface repeatedly as the probable best MMOPVP for me. That is due to Eve is not a game I will play, too much like etch-a-sketch when i look at the gaphics.
WoW I played off and on since it was released 10 years ago and really enjoyed playing my Disp Priest,DK, Hunter … 6 nearly 8 level 100s there now; but the Priest and BG healing was my favorite. In GW2 I have a lvl 80 Necro and 4 other low to mid level characters. Reviewing them, I remember nothing. Really, lol, nothing. PVE will never attract me. Big massive brawls however do and I can play them for hours upon hours, day after day.
So I login, have the treasure boxes winking at me, stuff I don’t remember, skills I don’t remember, the city it even more different than when I 1st started and I don’t even know where to go or how to get there. Considering deleting one of my characters to start from scratch; but before I do that came here to see what feedback I can get.
So I am on Blackgate with at least a level 80 Human Necromancer (gawd she looks so hawt too), with 44% of the map complete. I am not feeling like joining a guild and I need to refresh my knowledge of this game or just play another game I remember how to play.
What would you do and why, if you really just wanted to play in big world pvp brawls and you just logged into an inactive for 2 years GW2 account?
