Rabman: Really?! How did you do it? I’ve done some crafting on other characters, and it didn’t seem to give me that much exp. Do you have to spend a bunch of money on materials? What kind of crafting did you do?
I crafted every profession from 1-400. It cost a pretty penny, maybe 40-60g. A whole profession is only worth 10 levels (1-400). Honestly you could do just 7 professions and just do Orr map completions for the remaining levels.
If you only need 40 levels then do 4 professions.
Chef and Artificer are/were the cheapest. Weaponsmithing was the most expensive, with Leatherworker/tailor/huntsman falling in the middle.
Crafting is hands down faster. I just leveled a guardian in a few hours from level 2 to 80.
Backpacks
Cloaks
Banners
Bandoliers
Are just a few things that should be available, instead of just quivers and books. It seems sort of out of place that with so much emphasis on cosmetics we’re limited to these two options.
I agree, it seems like a huge oversight and limits build diversity. I’d rather not buy crafted armor and buy skins to make it not look like crap.
I was hoping to try out a Cleric build, but can only pay for them if I want the gear.
Sure is a good thing all of those weeks ago they fixed that animation bug, that didn’t need to be fixed, and promptly followed it up with, “well shortbow 1 was spammy” and didn’t promote engaging combat/gameplay, followed by two more major patch releases that never changed anything worth mentioning.
If your not going to commit to major changes because of resources or time, then don’t reduce the effectiveness of skills until your prepared to “balance”. It’s not balance to strip down one side while never building up the other.
While I appreciate this is a video game, this is your chosen profession and commitments, and communication are paramount. If I go promise the world to a bunch of my clients, then turn around and fail to deliver, followed by making more commitments and screwing those up, no amount of expressing the difficulties in my job will alleviate their concerns.
Glad I don’t play my Ranger anymore. It’s easier to simply switch to a viable class and give up on this train wreck.

“duelist” armor is obtained from map completion of high level zones. It’s random which pieces you acquire. You will not receive the whole set with one character. Duelist armor is generally cheap on the AH because its a level 78 set. Complete zones like Frostgorge Sound, Mount Maelstrom etc and you can receive some pieces. I’m fairly certain the affixes are random (Carrion, Knights, Berserker).
Duelist armor cannot be crafted. The only exotic berserker set you can craft is emblazoned for medium armor. I’ve heard they can be world drops, but I’ve never seen a world drop exotic.

CoE has the same stats, and is easy once you learn how to dodge. My engineer wears a mix of CoF and CoE. That way you can get 240 tokens a day on one character 2×60 CoE 2×60 CoF.
Just a couple of days and you’ll be completed geared.
Five badges and two blueprints is not to much of a reward. It allows guild members to contribute to their guilds efforts in WvW by donating all of their blueprints, without spending 5-10 gold on siege weekly.
I pulled a treb and a ballista last night and turned it over to one of our guild commanders, saved a quick 30s and contributed for next weeks match.
It’s fine as is.
Jumping and armor are the worst two factors of being a Charr character IMO. I hate all of the armor models on my Charr. They look overstretched, goofy and out of place.
Their cultural armor (medium in particular) looks primitive at best, coming from a race of supposed better craftsman than dwarves it seems to make no sense. There are bone or wood lattice bracers, from the race with tanks and choppers.
Sure wish you could change your race.
I always attributed this to the buy orders you are trying to fill have been filled. Since some items namely tons of rare materials are constantly moving, you are looking at an un-refreshed order that has already been filled, there by returning an error on your attempt to fill it.
I generally tab down to another BLT tab and tab back up to my selling transaction page and try again. This almost never occurs on items that sell or are traded less frequently or slowly.

is there any way to convert karma into gold that doesn't get you banned?

Negative, karma is worthless in any large quantities for any people not after a legendary. Otherwise you need only the most trivial amounts for random recipes, salvage kits, and cooking mats.
You can of course purchase sub-standard gear if you not kitted out in exotics.
1g.
Had 20 earlier but bought gear for my Thief. On the bright side, I look like Ezio Auditore now.
I demand to know what that gear is. Now.
Noble shoulder, newbie thief hood, duelist chest, bracers. Random boots, pants, several share those models.
Signet of the beastmaster lvl 30 power skill combined with Signet of Stone – 6 seconds of immunity, followed by the lesser protect me. You’d probably get 10 seconds of immunity out of it all, used separately.
The whole…
“It was also encouraging just spamming 1 which isn’t the most fun gameplay.”
Is complete nonsense. The fundamental use of this weapon is just that, auto-attack or crossfire; It’s the modus operandi for the shortbow Ranger. You don’t snare a mob that doesn’t need to be snared, or daze a mob that doesn’t need dazed, or evade backward to simply evade backward.
Main-Handed Axe is hardly different. It’s spam #1, until your off-hand is up. Use of snares as needed/optional, otherwise it’s spam #1. No changes on that front though.
Killing mobs slower is less fun gameplay, than endlessly plinking down mobs slowly.
The statement comes off like a copout, to piggy back the “unintended” DPS reduction by correcting an ambiguous animation glitch.
I farmed Icebrood mobs for about two and a half hours with 156 MF gear on and got zero drops, so pretty rare.
I’ve shot literally millions of arrows with the shortbow as its my primary weapon and the speed change is noticeable.
They should level the dps output across all of our weapons so they are all viable instead of tinkering with stuff that weakens a viable option.
