While this bug still exists, i recently was able to talk with someone who had a mesmer with nevermore, that person told me the bug also occurs with nevermore, which probably means that the bug comes from the mesmer himself and not the legendary weapon (im not sure if this happens with other weapon types or if its just staff).
I hope this helps you guys at anet to better track and fix the bug
Well I love living world, it the thing in GW2 I love the most, and about legendary weapons I would probably only make 1, so there are no problems with me about what content gets out, but having to choose between both things i paid for when i bought your game… THAT is the huge problem here. You are canceling (“delaying for undefinite time”, its the same thing in community’s eyes) content people paid for so you can deliver other content they paid for… ok, but you are not willing to halt the next expansion that people have NOT PAID for… really? With things going this way you should really spread those 70 devs wornking on next expansion so that you finish EVERYTHING unfinished in HoT first because there will be a ton of people not buying the next expansion fearing it will be the same pile of dissapointments as in HoT. The result of that scenario: you start 2 expansions and finish none. <— this will be extremely bad for both you and us players.
In other words: FINISH WHAT YOU STARTED
I know many many people already said similair things but im saying it too anyway and will keep saying until you come you yor senses and deliver what you promise on time for once.
Im saying this all as a player who loves GW2 and thats why I care. If I didnt care I would just leave the game and probably never buy a new expansion (as many people are starting to do already).
Still despite all this I wish you the best and a happy easter at ANet
Sincerely
A player who loves and cares about the game (and hopes to keep it that way)

I dont like afkers neither to dc myself but if someone dcs and comes back i never kicked them from parties or rage at them, it happens… but with this pip system i only got 2 dcs to date, both dcs i came back and played some 5+min and won both games, and got no pips. In the second time i already knew i would get no pips but i didnt want my team to be harmed by my dc, ut i doubt most players would be as selfless.
With my pc, having to load both HotM and the match (should be directly to match), i always take 2min+ just in loadings (and dont tell me to get better net/pc, not everyone has that money), that means that with any dc i get i could go eat someting instead for example because i will never gain anything for it. I am writing this to try and make anet see that with this system you are encouraging any player with net problems to just give up on the match and probably make the team loose, that is a bad strategy.
I would recomend something like, get win but doesnt count for sprees (only if you rejoin), get nothing only at 3rd or something time you dc/leave.
So I just noticed that my clones shoot normal mesmer attacks while i shoot rainbow bifrost attacks. This is a recent bug because i remember playing last week and all shot rainbows back then. If a dev could look at this it would be great, i was planning on starting pvp leagues but with this i have to either get a new staff or change the skin (both im not too inclined to do)
In my server i see tons of nothing with lots of no one and the occasional roamer… dolly…
Well there was this one rare time a player attacked me…
it exists. where else could i do my daily big spender?
Thats what pve—ahem wvw is for right?
100? I wish. Zerg? Whats that?
FoW has maybe 20-30 players logging into WvW anymore during day. Spread them over 24 hours period and well… you can see where it goes. Thing is, that is about the population of last 5 EU servers, some even having less people now.
So, again, whats the point closing those down? Most of those players in last tiers play in last tiers because they dont like to play in tier 1. Do you really think forcing them into tier 1 by closing down servers they like to be is good solution?
Long time Vabbi player here, we’re also around 20 spread over the day – thought I don’t belive the WvW problems go away by merging servers. Especially if you don’t find a way to keep the server communities intact.
Hey Vabbi (waves). We can probably get to fight you soon, if RoS continues to drop. Do you have any guilds left in Vabbi that raid every night? Cause atm all we have to fight is that blobby WSR server-wide pug-group that keeps increasing steadily as we kill them until they eventually overrun us by pure numbers and it becomes not fun again. RoS has no guilds to fight.
Well, RoS here,
I always loved WvW, but now i log in there and i play PvE in borderlands… I tested it and in prime time at a saturday there was no commander on any map, no chat happening, some afk, and the only caps we had were near wps and were the same as the ones needed for dailies. And to top it all, there was no Outnumbered buff so the other servers are pretty much the same.
As much as i like wvw there is no point in me playing it now because it’s just running around on an empty map soloing camps, stare at towers and keeps that we may cap once in a month and sometimes see a random player .
Unfotunatly the name “Desert Borderlands” fits my WvW experience perfectly -_-
So my choices atm are:
– Wander aimlessly in WvW;
– Not play WvW;
– Spend a ton of gold for a server change (and for that stop every goal i have just so i can save enough gold to be able to play WvW again)
Every “great news” anet tells about wvw my instant reaction is “Content not playable for me… skip”
This has to be fixed one way or another
Here is the build I used for PvP during BWE2. I would change around a few traits or sigils depending on what I fought, but this is basically it.
make it sword sword and its my build, love shiro glint
Now let’s face the facts, we won’t shut up till we get it back.
Plz anet SAB was great and i think some new players that came with HoT would love it too
I wouldnt be surprised that the narrator from “Origins of Madness” returned. At the time I interpreted him as the force that was behind Scarlet’s corruption, now I’m pretty sure it’s Mordremoth talking (he even sounds like Mordremoth’s voice in HoT)
Or you could just change the pull to displace (similar to Revenant), which does not interrupt yet keeps enemies inside the well.
just what i was going to say, make it displace to center like if the enemy tries to run away it goes back in time and displaces him to the center again, then final pulse would be the float so in other words this skill would warp time and space, much cooler, lesser problems about cc and keeping somewhat the original idea
yeah i’ve been doing lvl 40 missions and some dialogs are missing from various characters, like Tybalt, Lady Wi, and more. I have repeated them a few times and noticed the missing lines are not random, always the same ones keep missing.
Main character never missed one though
As said, stealth was not a mechanic from GW1, however, Nika in GW2 has stealth now so I don’t see why Shiro wouldnt have. Besides lore-wise you can’t see Shiro unless you are “Closer to the Stars” (a canthan ascention) so it actually makes some kind of sense.
Yeah, catching this in-game is hard as hell, your chat proves it :P
I had to record a video then really slow it down to catch it
(edited by Rahkylus.8097)
It took me some time but i was finally able to catch this. It happens every time i switch to ventari stance (not only me but other players as well), instead of seeing ventari’s face (i did see it the first few times playing revenant) i see a big pink cube.
as i submited in bug report:
Any ability that displaces the enemy (for example [Unyielding Anguish]) ignores any defiance on champions, and maybe legendaries (Epic like Jungle Wurms doesnt work). That made it possible for me (the only revenant in the zerg) moving the champion around (namely kol the giant, and ulgoth, in Harathi Hinterlands) a lot, bringing kol all the way out of the cave and back in, just by myself. This alone made it extremely annoying for other players, so add more Revenants and the situation becomes chaotic, making it literaly a nightmare for meee classes to just land a hit.
These are my main questions:
So lets say i end up farming stuff with revenant. Do i keep the loot or not?
If not do i keep it anyway if playing with another profession?
Also if i, for example, spend transmutation charges on revenant, will i get them back later?
just tested on a level 25 mesmer who was created way before the patch and has been sat at that level for a while (had chaos specialization and some utils unlocked and had 0 hero points according to the panel). level 31 was when he started getting hero points again, but he only got 5 at level 31 instead of the 8. at level 33 he got the full 8, so it does seem like a debt payment of hero points.
for science!
Thank you for letting me know of your test, though we both started at 25 i havent gained anyhing yet at 31 but that may be because of possible different number of skill challenges we made before patch. Still, wierd anet called it immideatly a bug, and if this is “working as intended”, apart from being a bit stupid by using points we dont have on somtehing we, in most cases, dont want, they should, at least, explain it better, i had a time i just lost all interest in playing with my ele because my build was all upside down with stuff i didnt want and i couldnt even get the points to start getting the specialisations that i wanted. If this is a bug, plz fiz it, if not, at least explain it better. I still think however that if we just got the points corresponding to our level + challenges made, it would avoid these “bugs” and on top of all, many ppl would be happier by spending their points on the things they wanted
at level 31 you should have gained roughly 68 total hero points (without any challenges). 1 full specialisation line costs 60 hero points, add in a few utilities (at 2-5 hero points each) and at level 25, you would have more than likely spent more than you truly had.
sounds like the system made up for that by not giving you more, until you’d earned enough to cover what was already unlocked.
Edit to clarify: with no challenges done at level 25 you’d have 44 points. if the changeover gave you 1 full specialization line you’d end up with -16, on top of that the cost for utilities unlocked. so, it isn’t that you weren’t gaining any, it’s that the changeover caused you to spend points you didn’t have. when the amount went back to 0 you started gaining them again at level 31.
i did not start gaining at 31, when i reached 31 i still didnt gain anything, and the 6 i have are from the 6 hero challenges i made from 25 to 31. i am currently at level 31 still, i havent played with that character lately. I also thought it a possibility of some kind o hero points dept by looking at the ammount of unlocked specialisation/skills, but i was then told in mail by anet that i was experiencing a bug.
As suggested by GM Humbucker, i’m posting here the problem thathas been affecting me and my brother (an i hear some other people as well) about not getting any Hero Points from level up rewards, hero challenges still award me those.
Me and my brother resumed playing with our lvl 25 characters on the day after the june 23rd patch, and noticed we both had 0 Hero Points becuase all of them had been spent on a core specialisation (earth) and some skills. Since then we have leveled up to lvl 31and done 6 hero challenges. We havent gained a single hero point in all those levels, and we are supposed to gain hero points every odd level, so we shoud have gained 3 times hero points from 25 to 31. Now, at level 31 we have 6 Hero Points (I havent spent any gained Hero Point), which means that we only gained Hero Points form challenges and not a single one from leveling up on all those 6 levels. according to wiki (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Hero_point) we should have gained a total of 24 ever since plus the already gained 6 from hero challenges. This problem however, is only happening on those 2 characters (my ele and my brother’s engi), as other characters on both our accounts have gained Hero Points from leveling up. I was informed by ANet that this was a bug and suggested to post it here so here it is.
I hope this can be solved soon as it is serously impairing our leveling experience.
EDIT: I previously made a realy similair post on gw2 discussions but i’m now posting it here since now i know this is the correct place for this problem.

-If you had Traitline X than you got all traits from Trailine X unlocked.
Then anet had no reason to put a ton of hero points on Earth Specialisation when i was at level 25 and had NO TRAITS at the time (they were only unlocked at level 30 before the patch), also i confirmed with other ppl most eles got their earth specialisation maxed anyway, also engis, most of them, got their inventions specialisation maxed, so i think that skills are based on your build, traits are the same for all which is even more ridiculous
From what i’ve been told, it is possible that ANet uses moe points than we have, and i have a character who has zero (probably negative points actually) and for 6 levels i havent gain a single one and have to play with earth specialisation (ele) which would be the LAST I wanted to get, and now i cant even get hero points to make up for it and train other specs. I lost ALL of my conjure weapons and i bet that when i finally unlock another specialisation it will be by the time i unlock another specialisation slot, so i will have to put earth specialisation there again, when i dont want that specialisation… In other words, atm, i cant even make up for THEIR mistakes, not to mention i shouldnt have to
What skills and traits have you gotten automatically unlocked?
It is possible that Anet’s automatically unlocking resulted in spending more hero points than you actually have, so you’re at a negative number for leveling only – thus until you’re no long at such a number you’ll not gain hero points by leveling.
Theoretically, that is.
You should have had 44 + however many skill challenges you had already done for the automatic update for hero points. If my thoughts are right and you unlocked the highest utility skill on two or three different circles, that’s 36 potentially right there.
I think it is possible that to be the case (i have no way of knowing how much some skills costed), and if that is the case, then it is completely ridiculous, ANet spent my points on a Spec and some skills i didnt want an now i have to level up a lot just to be able to start gaining and make up for THEIR mistakes -_-
if not then it is a bug. anyway, i sent a ticket to support, we’ll se what’s really happening.
Thank you all for your replies
i have 6, i have done 6 hero challenges, the rest was all spent by anet trying to automaticly make a build
Hero points are also spent to buy skills. How many skills do you have and how many points did that take? At level 31 you should have gained 68 hero points by leveling plus any points gained from Hero challenges/skill challenges minus any spent on the build ANet gave you minus any spent on skills.
Without knowing how many much was spent on your skills and that build, it’s hard to say from here. If you add it all up and it’s still wrong you will need to contact support and see what they say.
when patch started, at level 25, i had 0 because all of them were automaticly placed in some specs/skills now i am at level 31 and have gained since then 6 hero points from the 6 hero challenges i’ve made
This site has a chart that show how many Hero points you get when leveling and at what levels. (You may have to hit show on the blue bar to open it up).
acording to that i’m missing 24 hero points then
i have 6, i have done 6 hero challenges, the rest was all spent by anet trying to automaticly make a build
From what i’ve read in the 23rd june patch notes, we would gain Hero Points (I don’t knw how many) every odd level. Me and my brother resumed playing with our lvl 25 characters on the following day (both on the same level) and have leveled up to lvl 31. We havent gained a single hero point in all those levels, if we are supposed to gain hero points every odd level we shoud have gained 3 times hero points from 25 to 31. Please ANet either fix this or explain how this works. Gaining Hero Points 1 by 1 just from skill challenges it would take around 10 maps to complete a single trait line and that would take forever.
I like these new changes but there is one thing that is kittening me off! All of my low level characters got the traits chosen for me, and ALL WRONG! Now i have to do tons of hero chalenges and power leveling to make up for the changes ANet made for me, and in the meanwhile not being able to play how i want. Please ANet make it so we recieve the points but can use however we see fit, and not the choices you think are right -_-
HoT Price Feedback + Base game included [merged]
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

I see 3 options for ANet:
1 – Lower the price as an expansion only pack (wich i dont see happening)
2 – Keep the price but add the option: if used to upgrade an existing account get extra gems or character slots or both
3 – Do nothing and see a huge part of the actual player base leave…
Your strategy atm is making the current player not buy HoT, buy it and feel robbed and/or get laughed at by the new player for having bought the game TWICE, and make the incoming returning mass of players leave once more…
Also announcing this at E3 makes many ppl think about using the money saved for HoT to buy another game like Fallout 4 wich are much more worth in terms of price. like said in repplies above you are making regular veterans abandon the idea of purchase and keeping only the ones with tons of money and some new players. Not a wise strategy ANet.
Please make some ammends to this situation.Sincerely a huge fan of the GW world
So I’m sorry, it seems I was missinformed about some things, for example, bonus core game is just a bonus for new players and not a bundle with the expansion so that part I take back what i said, still, lots of ppl are already extremely angered by that deal so the sugestions 1 and 2 stay since it would still be a easy sollution for both you guys at ANet and all the veterans out there would be happier and most would insta-buy it right now. Also I will add that if you reveal more things in the meantime it would help justify the price tag you put on HoT and more ppl would maybe find it worth the price, if not tell the community why do you think it would be worth such a price. With the ammount of content revealed up to date I understand why some are saying they wont buy.
It is a shame it has all come to this point, you guys do some amazing content and I (and many more too) would like the community to return to the happy and firendly state it was before.
Keep up the good work and hope this all gets solved soon so we can all enjoy Heart of Thorns

So i was doing wvw dailies when i came across an enemy tower with it’s guards fighting amongst themselves (names turned green) and attacking the gates. As you can see in the print, the guard is on my team and atacking the enemy gate
In my opionon this is a very promissing gamemode, however atm there are still some problems:
1 – Gates go down too easy, and i only know somthing is happening when it already happened like door break (either team).
2 – Lack of strategy (possibly due to most people not knowing how to play yet), as most of my games were either each wanders where they please or Zerging, and some games both teams were 5 ofensive first one to reach lord wins, so (apart from myself that tried to defend :p) the game could have ended without player contact.
3 – Supplies. i think there should be something like a cooldown (either for the supplies crate or the player) as i’ve seen endless team-fights where they just want to kill because either team gets TONS of supplies and then TONS of archers/doorbreakers. after that is zerg rushing. (all this makes the game too fast imo)
Anyway this gamemode is fun, just needing some ajustments.
BUG: Mesmer clones can pass though ANY GATE. I was defending (i’m a mesmer) and besides being able to create a clone behind the gate when i went to face the enemy mesmer both me and my clone passed through the gate, when i was retreating i went behind the gate and saw the enemy’s clone passing as if it was from my team, resuming it’s pursuit behind gates
Revenant the final nail in Ritualists coffin?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Rahkylus.8097
Maybe we’ll get a ‘Ritualist’ specialization for the Revenant?
I think it’ll be a necromancer specialization.
- Necromancers have already gone into the spectral realm of things, far more than in GW1.
- Marjory’s the first of the new necromancer specialization. She’s of Canthan descent. And she has a spirit-imbued weapon.
wouldn’t trehearne technically be the first of the specialisation due to him being a necro and wielding caladbolg and with him now in the jungle he could pick up the new specialisation as a means to survive.
Not exacly. I don’t know if you played a Sylvari, but on the personal story you get to wield Caladbolg and it has set skills, like picking up a fiery greatsword, and those are the exact same as Trehearne uses, so in other words Caladbolg’s skills do not come from a profession
Will the new content be too difficult solo?

They’re waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to proud of their “Friendly Community” that they won’t add things where other might rage upon (like 1 player killing the entire content)
Go to silverwastes, at a breach, in indigo and BLOW ALL THE BUBBLES, then tell me how 1 player can’t kill the event xD
If you do buy GW1, focus primarily on Prophecies and Eye of the North. Factions and Nightfall are significantly less relevant to GW2 due to those campaigns taking place far away from anywhere we can explore in GW2 today.
Actually Factions and nightfall are the ones i’m more interested in, even though i really want to know tyria’s history, i’m also kind of tired of it a bit so a “new” continent and culture would be nice. Ever since i started to know a minimum of gw2 lore i was kind of:
“Oh! there is another continent to the desert? Nice! How do I get there?”
“You don’t”
“Why?”
“Because it’s dangerous”
“-_-”
Anyway, if I end up buying I was thinking of the trilogy and later when i have done most things i want to, i buy the EotN (no complete collection available for me, and no money to buy all at once :C ). Also depends on how GW2HoT is and if it is also worth, but that I have to wait and see
So, I’ve been playing GW2 almost since launch, and have been loving the game, especially it’s lore having found myself, several times, searching both wikis about GW lore and i find it fascinating. I wanted to ask, Guild Wars 1 players, if you think it is still worth to buy GW1 because of the story/lore (and some gw2 in-game bonus as well xD). Also I’ve been seeing some other things about the game that are actually prety good, it is just that with GW2 already 2 and half years on its way, and Heart of Thorns on the way, I wanted to know if there are still people in GW1 or if it’s lore vallue surpasses the need for a community.
