The limit is 5 and that seems fair since all AoEs have a limit of 5. As for what gets hit it seems random based on a tiered system. Enemies first, pets second, other stuff third, etc.
I say random because each pulse of damage on the same targets always seems to hit different people. So in essence it is hitting more than 5.
I agree with #2 and #4.
As for spirits I would rather see a larger range like GW1 so they could be hidden in safe spots and the whole health/armor/AOE resistance wasn’t as much of an issue.
When I was working on my legendary, I got 70 clovers from 15 tries with the 10x recipe.
It’s luck, some people will do better than the 33% and others worse.
1. It only says you are looking for a group but not a group for what.
2. Limited to the instance of the map you are in.
Just finished my Kudzu today.

Yak’s Bend has a friendly community with a mix of people doing PvE, PvP and WvW. Was in Queensdale Thursday night and there were people running around.
Go to www.yaksbend.com and have a look around. We recently had a guild [Yum] join our server and it sounds like you would have similar interests as them.
An amazing server! Any guild would be welcomed with open arms and you would feel a part of our family from day one.
Let me explain to you why you cannot guest on worlds in another region.
There are two databases: European player data is stored in our European datacenter, American player data is stored in our American datacenter. This is to ensure that people in these regions can still properly play in case there is an issue with the connection between the datacenters.
When you do a world transfer from the US to the EU (and vice versa) your player data is transferred from one datacenter to the other. This is not the case with guesting, as you are still “registered” on your home world.
I understand that some of you are disappointed that you cannot guest on worlds in another region, but considering the complexity of internet routing, our main priority is to ensure that players have as much of an uninterrupted game experience as possible, which is the reason why we have two datacenters. On another note: I will try to get an answer to the guild influence question that has been posted a couple of times.
Thanks for the update. Is there any reason why that data cant be copied across until the guesting is complete. Just like server moves?
As mentioned above, many of us would rather wait 5 mins for a copy and have a little more ping than to have a flat out never.
Ask any database administrator, duplicate records are not a good thing. With what you are suggesting is have two sets of the same information, now how do you handle things like gaining a level do you update the home server, guesting server or both servers. If you are doing both servers you are doubling information traffic between servers plus the regional lag time. Not just leveling but Gold, Karma, XP (which you get every 0.54 seconds in GW2), loot, etc.
You also need to look at things like if the account is hacked while guesting and a rollback is needed what do you do then? The backups are probably only going to be on the home server meaning the rollback tools will need to be changed significantly to handle this copying of data.
Many people think programming is easy but little things can cause issues across the software even when it seems unrelated. For example, this could effect things like Bug Reporting.
Well between Sigil of Fire and Sigil of Air, go with Fire since it is AoE vs. single target. I use it on my Axe/Warhorn with 45% crit and it is going off constantly.
Another good Sigil is Blood, since you are glass cannon it may help you out to get some health back.
Sad to see this from Jon Peters though.
“Don’t worry we wouldn’t leave you behind. Locust is getting improved as well.”
“Why not, Signet of Air needs it too”
Not that I don’t want other classes improved but I though this was more to help our class be more mobile than other classes.
If you havn’t seen the post in the Necro forum apparently they are going to 25% too.
This will really help Rangers not need to bring along warhorn and RaO so much. I think this will make a difference in many areas.
Good idea in principle, but in practice there are way too many WvW buffs to add them to the combat buff bar.
Take a look at the WvW screen next time you’re logged in, and then imagine all of those crammed into the buff bar along with your signets/food/pots/temporary combat buffs/etc. That would result in combat information overload.
But there may be another place on the screen to put them, maybe a row across the top or down the right edge or somewhere else visible but not combat-crucial.
Single icon when hovered over gives details about all eight boons.
Also, isn’t that graph showing # of hours played since it is currently 10,000+ and below the graph it says # of players 3,683.
It also says hours per day averages 11.770. If this graph truly is showing the number of hours that doesn’t mean less players it could just mean people have decided to start sleeping more and not play more than 11 hours a day.
I don’t think they thought it was a failure but they obviously wanted to try and capture a larger market this time around and innovation is not a bad thing.
However, i think they could have stayed closer to the original than they did. I preferred many of the features as they were implemented in GW1 rather than their new incarnations.
GW1 was lacking in many areas such as jumping, swimming and non-instanced maps (even though I really miss vanquishing). It did need an update because of these missing features present in other games.
I did like in GW1 you didn’t need to worry about gear as much as you do in GW2 but it is really not they thing I miss the most about it. For me, it is the skill system in the first game (including multiple professions, large skill pool and skill capping from named bosses).
In the end, this is the game we have and I do enjoy it and will continue to play it but in the end would have rather have 5 years of expansions to GW1.
This is what I used. Found it useful since it shows you exactly where to find them.
Hi,
We’d like to bring further clarification as we’re about to begin Phase 2 in 15 minutes (Saturday November 17 at 12:00 PM PST / 9:00 PM CET) :
Here are the Phase 1 steps that you need to make sure you completed before Phase 2 starts:
1.Talk to Inspector Ellen Kiel in the Grand Piazza of Lion’s Arch
2.Examine the wreckage on the shore in Lion’s Arch west of Sanctum Harbor waypoint
3.Return to Kiel with the soggy bag
4.Talk to Consortium Subdirector Blingg at the new Consortium Gift Shop point of interest, northwest of Fort Marriner in Lion’s Arch
5.*Receive the map fragment. *
The subsequent steps of Phase 1 can be finished after Phase 2
1.Defeat Noll and his bodyguards (this is currently bugged and we’ll push a fix for that later)
2.Find Canach in Garenhoff
3.Defeat Canach (this NPC is currently on a timer)
4.Return to Kiel for your reward.
Other dynamic events are not required for completing Phase 1.
All players will be able to play and complete Phase 2, independently from whether they played or completed Phase 1.
Thanks.
You had to have traded in the soggy bag and gotten the map fragment before 12PM PST / 3PM EST today.
This information was posted in the forums. It is in the post at the top of the anouncements list at the right side.
The best part of this dungeon is in the future (years) they could have 100s of fractals. I’m sure that number is a bit too high but it is possible if people really like it.
So far, no change.
A guildmate had an exotic drop. I got alot of Powerful Bloods. Found 3 Ori nodes. New jumping puzzle. So far I prefer it over frostgorge.
Also I am sure tomorrow those 2 big cannons will be used for something. Probably a world boss that will probably stay afterwards.
They also said they would add more content to the map in the future.
Oh and the best part NO RISEN!
250 T6 mats
50 Ectos
24 skill points
1 Mists essenseThis is easy to obtain? Considering you still need an infusion for it and it is a single item slot?
Quick calculations, before prices have even sky-rocketted, show that this would cost you 60 gold for one item using Powerful Bloods and Ectos each at 20 silvers, which both are higher than right now.
Add in the fact that drop rates have been obliterated and this will soon cost 100g+ and it will be 100g that is insanely difficult to gain, as if it wasn’t already.
They also said T6 mats were going to be dropped more often now and in more places. I know on the new map today I already got 5 Powerful Bloods from it. They did increase demand but they are also increasing supply of T6 materials. Also as a level 80 character level 55+ zones not have a chance at dropping level 80 materials including T6 materials where it was limited to level 77 stuff before.
Never been asked to change even when there are already two Rangers in the group. I usually just respond with “I’ll go”, they invite and we are off.
Some people are just jerks and you will run into them from time to time. There are plenty of groups out there.
Longbow
- Increase projectile speed – this is stop it being so easy to evade.
Still think you will need either a damage increase or a fire rate increase to skill 1 to go with this. If you increase projectile speed it will make the rate of fire of the weapon appear slower. I like using longbow but it is underpowered right now.
One of my biggest issues is in WvW.
1. I have to jump onto the edge of the wall to hit anything with Longbow and makes it so easy to be knocked off. Even barrage cannot be targetted without being on the edge. You are shooting up into the air, line of sight shouldn’t factor in. If any class should outperform on a castle wall it should be the Ranger class / Longbow weapon.
2. When defending on a wall my pet cannot attack and I lose DPS because of this. It is irratating they can’t run out and attack. Even worse when using birds (from a logic standpoint). This is also a problem when you have mobs on jumping platforms. Pets cannot attack unless you are on the same platform as the mob.
3. We lose DPS because of our pets when attacking players on a wall. Pets cannot attack them (even birds) but I agree they should not be able to run inside. Don’t know how to fix this. Even though damage buffs in certain circumstances are always brought up I don’t think that is the way to go.
In the asura one there are places where if a team mate falls they insta die and do not port to somewhere you can rez them.
I think if they fall and hit a ledge they can’t do anything till the party dies.
Was doing my wife’s personal story with her and Zojja has now been bald in two of the story lines “Lines of Communication” and the previous step where you pick your order.
Maybe the new pet (Reef Drake) will be godly….. No it won’t be.
While i understand why anet have installed a system like this, however, by doing so, it really removes the tactics of some professions.
Just because the monster can’t reach you, they become invulnerable. Wow, really?
I really don’t mind the invulnerable on bosses/champions but on regular thrash, that’s just crap. They could fix this by doing one of these options
1. Code the mobs so that if they can’t reach you, then they run away.
2. If you kill a monster from a higher ground (where the monster would normally be invulnerable), there’s a big penalty to your loot/xp % gain.
Or at least give all melee mobs a “Throw Rock” skill that is only used in these situations.
I am having the same disconnect issue since the patch. It has happened about 20 times now and really don’t feel its fair to others to join any dungeon groups, etc.
The error code is 7:1000:7006:836:101.
Having same problem on Yak’s Bend server.
Bugged on Yak’s Bend as well.
There is also the signet that increases movement speed but not as good as swiftness. You can also use Rampage as One as it gives you swiftness.
I want my crabs from GW1 back. With all the crab mobs in this game it is strange there are not any. In the future I would rather have 4 Different pets than 4 Moas.
