While running the character ignores gravity on uneven surfaces and only corrects the position after stopping for a while. Makes me feel dizzy. Something wrong with the physics here.

A lot of negative feedback in here.. I’m almost scared to comment, but I think HoT made some very clever improvements to the game. They took some risks and some promises they couldn’t fulfill, but in general most of what they delivered was challenging, fun and something that has never been seen in an mmo before.
There was a need in the game for challenging content, which they delivered with raids and HoT maps. The maps are not too hard. It takes a little while, but you can learn to navigate and handle the tricky mobs in there. And most of the masteries help in that too. I’ve only raided a bit, but what I’ve experienced has been fun and challenging as well. So definitely I feel like GW2 has learned map and encounter design very well.
It’s very hard to please everyone who plays the game. The content Anet provided with HoT is clearly meant for players, who have already played GW2 for a while, since it’s important for them to keep their long term customers.
There could be an enemy on each of the starting zones that can be killed only with cc and only once per character. It could be a monster like a wurm or something else heavy or stuck to the ground (Snorlax!) and covering a cave entrance or something similar where is a small reward. Then when you approached it with a new character, a near by npc would ask you to move the creature, because they need something from the cave. The UI would point at the cc bar on the enemy and show a small pop up text with the different kinds of cc (with icons). Logically a player in this situation would then take a look at their skill bar to find a skill with one of the cc symbols. There could also be a small punishment type effect for using any skill without cc on the creature, like a knockback.
I feel like there is always something to do in the game.. maybe not always the most exciting stuff, but something. If you only play the story, you’re gonna end up without anything to do quite fast.
My advice is, go on your achievement page in your hero menu and look for content that you haven’t done yet there. You can also open the wardrobe through the bank, pick armors and weapons that you would like to go for and search how to get them on the wiki. Guild Wars 2 endgame is a lot about collections. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea and I understand it, but that’s what is keeping me busy at the moment. You can also put a lot of time into pvp or raids if you like those.
Hey! This is a thread where you can share dreams you’ve seen about Guild Wars 2 or the Guild Wars universe in general. What did you see in your dream?
First of all, I’m not sure if this is the right place to create a thread like this. If any of you moderators feel that there is a better place on the forums for this thread, feel free to move it. Also, I don’t know if a similar thread already exists. I used the search but didn’t find anything related.
Last night I saw a dream about a new map in the northern Ascalon, just above Iron Marches on the map. The new map was much like the Fireheart Rise in landscape, but this one was more of a home ground for the Flame legion, not a war zone. There were small villages where only women and children lived, ‘cause all the men were south fighting against the other charr. These villages were friendly, even when they knew that my character was an enemy. They just wanted to live in peace.
Through the whole dream I had this feeling that I was the first one to ever see this map so I explored a lot and took screen shots so I could share it here on the forums. xD Of course when I woke up there were no screen shots to be shared. (or maybe it wasn’t a dream and anet stole the screen shots from me before I could leak anything?) xD
The scenes with Trahearne at the end of the story had the biggest impact on me, as well as the situations where the sylvari player character heard Mordremoth inside their head.
I think that raids are fine as they are. I haven’t beaten VG with my guild yet but we’re having a lot of fun with it anyway, so much that I don’t mind the difficulty. It’s very fun to see the whole group get better with every try. I know we’ll beat it eventually.
That being said, I would still like the current raid story to be accessible for those who don’t have the time, resources or company to raid. After all, it’s a story they started in GW1, so I feel like that should be something accessible for those players who played GW1 and want to know the rest. This depends of course on the impact of the story. Untill now the raid story hasn’t tied any story threads from GW1, I think, just using the history and building a new story on it with new characters. For example, if there is to be a mursaat in the last raid wing, that would be something so important, that they shouldn’t leave it behind this “only for raiders” wall. But if nothing that important is there in the story, then I don’t mind it being the way it is now.
If there were to be an easy mode for raids.. I think it should either not have rewards at all, or only give rewards on the first play through like the personal story.
1. I would like more Stronghold maps for ranked & unranked. The current Stronghold map is the most fun of all ranked maps in my opinion. Even if you end up in an “un-meta” team versus “meta team”, the games are usually more balanced in Stronghold compared to the same situation in Conquest.
2. Let players mix and match stats more. Two or three trinkets instead of one would be very fun and great for fine tuning builds.
3. No more than two of the same profession in the same team.
4. Make the “favorite map” statistic in the pvp menu choose my favorite by what I vote instead of what I end up playing! xD I hate foefire and never vote for it, but that is still my “favorite map” says the game. Good job.
5. Make it so that even if I’m stuck in a rank for a long time, I still get some league tickets if I play a lot to get the back pieces. “Finding your place in the rank” shouldn’t mean stopping progress. Of course getting better at the game should be the focus, but sometimes getting and losing pips is very situational. Let’s say that my wins and loses are 50/50. If I win every other game and lose every other, I’m going to be stuck. But if I lose three first and then win three, I gain pips. In other words, with the same win rate, there is still luck involved.
Or maybe give us ticket pieces for a certain amount of wins to make tickets when we get stuck. That would be fun and still challenging.
I would like to see behind the tengu wall
I very much enjoy Skyhammer mostly, but I do agree that it’s a very small map and would get better with some more floor space. There is not enough space near the skyhammer and the points A and C are also very small and difficult to fight in because of the floors that turn off. The jump pads are difficult to use and the platforms they lead to are small and don’t cover you from attacks, so you’ll rarely try to get on them anyway.
I like the fact that it’s a map that doesn’t always result in the better team winning. I know it sounds stupid, but I like the feeling of “anything could happen” which is possibly the idea the designers went for in this map. Most of the time it’s the team that uses the map better that wins, and not necessary the team that fights better in 1v1 or 2v2 situation. It’s unranked for a reason, but it’s not a hopelessly bad map. Maybe just too many toys in the same toy box. If tuned, I would like to see it on ranked one day.
I’m not very experienced in WvW but I’ve noticed that people tend to run in zerks circling the map with only rare fights against other zerks. I would like to see more defensive play styles couraged by the game mode mechanics and rewards.
I also very much like the idea of reward tracks! And WvW exclusive legendary back item!
Meatoberfest is always. That’s the joke.
Jokes aside, I would also like to see other cultural events for the other races. There are none currently, I think.
Also remember to check cities! I almost missed Hoelbrak when I did map completion.

Welcome back! You can play the revenant profession in early levels but everything else in the expansion (specializations, masteries, new maps etc) is after lvl 80.
Hmm.. What I’d like to see..
The consequences of the fight against Mordremoth:
What is the situation of the pact? How much has it weakened? Who will be the new leader and what do we fight next?
I don’t think that the commander is going to take Trahearne’s place. It’s much more likely that some other character will fill that place, possibly someone from Destiny’s Edge. Now that Eir is gone, it’s very likely that Rytlock will be the new head of the group so to speak. He could also become the new marshal of the pact, but it may be that he’s too busy as it is. So we’ll just have to see. Personally, I’d like to see the pact split up back to the three orders and get more story with the order of my character, be that in the living seasons or next expansion.
What is the situation at the Grove? How many did sylvari lose to the dragon? What is the other race’s opinion on them now, that they know of their origins? Has the war against Mordremoth effected the Pale Tree or the dream somehow?
I do not think that they will stretch this idea of a racial hate towards sylvari any longer. It could be an interesting idea if they did, but it would complicate the plot maybe too much. At some point the sylvari would have to win their trust back. It might be too long of a story to tell. However, the story of Trahearne sacrificing himself to kill Mordremoth could wash some of the bad reputation of sylvari. He will most likely be remembered as a hero among the pact and the sylvari.
It would be interesting to see a new generation of sylvari saplings who are born after the death of Mordremoth. They would learn fighting spirit from their dead ancestors due to shared memories in the dream, and could be much tougher than the cute little flower people we’ve seen so far.
And then there’s the story of Destiny’s Edge and Rytlock in the mists. We will probably see a funeral or some other kind of memorial event for both Eir and Trahearne. Especially Eir was a great hero among the norn, so they will mourn her passing. Braham could pick up his mother’s bow and become a dragon hunter. We will probably not see Zoijja and Logan for a while, since they were so seriously hurt. However, I do not believe either of them is dead or dying.
Rytlock has a lot of story to tell! I think we might have to wait till season 4 to get a better story of him, but of course there’s a possibility that we’ll get it in ls3. I would like to see a similar flashback as we saw in ls2 for Caithe. Personally I’m not as much interested in his trip to the Mists, as I am interested in how he’s going to get rid of the Ascalonian ghosts and how that will effect the world. I would like to see a change in our current maps.
Then there’s Taimi and Rata Novus. She’ll build a new golem with the knowledge she has gained from the jungle and be back in the group in no time.
I would also be so happy to see any explanation on Malyck or at least his tree. I would be very sad if the story was abandoned by the developers. I feel like this is their last chance to implement it, since they now have the excuse that the sylvari from the other tree could have been fighting Mordremoth somewhere else in the jungle and that’s why they couldn’t help us earlier. With Pale Tree weakened, it would be nice to see another sylvari city and these two uniting their forces.
How about an easy-mode raid with no loot for those who just want to experience the story? I would appreciate that. I’m in a guild group and we’ve tried the first raid multiple times. It’s a lot of fun, but we haven’t got past the Vail Guardian yet. You see, I’m a huge fan of the lore of Guild Wars, so right now the only way for me to get the story is to spoil myself online. I know we’ll beat the raid with my guild eventually, but that could be months later. I would like to keep up with the story as it’s told and not be left behind.
It could still be that the Anet is just teasing us. Maybe this is just an opening for the story that will begin in living story 3 or 4.
Hey all! I’ve been playing actively for more than a year and though I play gw2 almost every day, I consider myself a casual player. I am horrible at saving gold, ‘cause I’m always filling up all the collections! After HoT came out, I started crafting for Nevermore. It’s going to be my first legendary and I’m still on my way crafting the first tier precursor. But it’s moving very slowly because all the wood needed. I’ve already crafted 31 spirit wood planks and still 4 to go till the first tier precursor. And then I have two tiers more to go!
So basically, if you have any soft wood, seasoned wood, hard wood or elder wood lying around, I would really appreciate it! Or if you know of any other materials I’m going to be needing on the way to the Nevermore legendary, I would be thankful for those as well. Gold also accepted. I play on EU.
I played about 10 matches today. Half of them solo, half of them with one friend. I’ve been playing pvp casually for almost a year. Last season my win/lose rate was about 50/50. But today I lost all of my matches expect one. And they were not even matches. Most of the time the losing team had under 200 points at the end of the match. It was a complete slaughter.
Ok! Thanks Looking forward to getting to that part of making the Nevermore then.
I don’t know if anyone else has noticed that if you complete a jumping puzzle or you’re in some other place with a chest, there is usually a lvl 80 friendly raven near it. It’s not a Juvenile Raven. I searched the Wiki for this but didn’t find anything on it. I thought it might be an easter egg of some kind or maybe related to the legendary weapon Nevermore. Does anyone know?
^I’ve done them both.
I was checking around the Shiverpeaks Explorer Achievement and noticed that there are two check marks for Dredgehaunt Cliffs: Tribulation Caverns. I have completed the jumping puzzle and have the achievement for it, but only one of these is checked for me. Is this a mistake in the sense that there should be only one check mark for the Tribulation Caverns or am I missing something?
Lowering the character model limit will improve the fps. That way the game will only show the player character models near you. It does take away from the experience a bit, since you can’t see all of the big crowd around you, but it does improve the fps a lot.
I would like to see a ghost themed necromancer similar to Japanese horror movie ghosts. Basically some of the shroud skills would include stealth and it would be a fast mobility elite, a bit similar to the thief and the opposite of the slow themed reaper. Breaking the stealth would make a scary screaming sound so it would not be just as invisible as the thief. This could be combined with life steal mechanics since it fits to the ghost theme in my opinion. Personally I would enjoy an off hand axe for this class. Now that the greatsword has been added with reaper I feel that is the only one still left that could fit the theme of the class.
^ you mean reset time as when the day changes or when a new patch is up?
So I just looked over my Treasure Hunter collection yesterday and there is an item (I don’t remember the name) that you can get from the Temple of Lyssa meta event. So I went to the map, searched the temple and started to wait for this event. After a short while of waiting and nothing happening (because the temple was under control) I searched on Google how often does this event restart.. and I couldn’t find anything but year old forum posts about how the event is not starting because the defend events are not failing. I waited maybe 40 minutes or so on the map and no events on the area popped up.
What is this? Is it true that the Temple of Lyssa meta event won’t start if certain other events on the same map won’t fail? If so, why has this been the case for a year already? How can I get to do the event?
My bad on the second thing there I thought was a bug! I thought I made a choice between the pet taming and the supplies, but it seems the story involves them both.
So I’ve been leveling up a new character and chose the vigil storyline. There is a part where you choose to help one of the lesser races and I chose the ogres. Now I noticed a few bugs during playing, one of them an old one I remember from a previous play through about a year ago, and a few possibly new ones.
First the old bug: Somewhere in the story Untamed Wilds you are searching for the chieftain Uldek in the branded territory. At the end of this mission there is a big branded monster (devourer if I remember correctly) that’s a bit hard to solo. The hardes part of it is, that this monster uses long range attacks, but if you agro it too far away from the fight’s starting point, it’s HP rises back up. This area for the fight is very small ‘cause it’s very close to the borders of the instance. A good fix would be to change the monster’s mechanic in a way that it doesn’t turn back and restore it’s HP so soon.
The new bugs I noticed are in the story Pets and Walls Make Stronger Kraals. In the end of the last story you make a choice to either help the ogre with taming new pets, or by getting them more supplies. I chose the supply option, and still got the pet taming story next.
Also in the first instance of Pets and Walls make Stronger Kraals, the Shatterer is flying on the background all the time very close, looping the same animation. At the start of this animation it looks like he’s standing in the air. It looks really silly and there is no point of him showing in this instance at all, so maybe remove him?
Same happened to me! I sent a ticket to support.
I accidentally used the Box of recipes: The Ravenswood Branch on a weaponsmith ‘cause the item description said so. Now there’s no recipe on the weaponsmith station, cause it’s apparently an artificer recipe, which I would have known, if this wasn’t my first time crafting a legendary weapon and the item didn’t say “weaponsmith 450”.. oh what a mess..
Nevermore I:
1) Item is not received after completing a tower in DS. Even after completing the full event and popping chest, no achievement/item.
Same for me when I played yesterday! I can’t say if it was because my game crashed twice during the even chain but I was there the whole time of the tower part and didn’t get the item for the collection.
Shouldn’t the other tree be much more north than the HoT maps anyway? At least Malyck was found on the shore of the river that flows through the Caledon Forest and that river starts from nowhere near the HoT maps, actually quite near of Divinity’s Reach. So according to that the Malyck’s tree could be somewhere north from Brisban Wildlands. But I could be mistaken.
I actually think that the chak could be more like parasites for the elder dragons. There are a lot of chak after all very near Mordremoth’s territory, but Mordremoth hasn’t bothered to fight them off. That is possibly because it would be too much of a bother to fight so many creatures that consume magical energy. They might consume magic from the vines if given the opportunity.
