1. I love the blaster. Its looking nice and i can imagine that it will look perfect int he hand of a skilled asuran roleplayer. The buff it gives is also pretty nice, though you need a friend to buff yourself.
2. The experience scroll… well its a nice idea but if you do a few events, and many people farm this things due to money needs, you amass tons of the 1 point scrolls in a week. Still its okay, because there is (almost) always something to spend your skillpoints on.
3. Seriously? I mean, I have not played for almost a year but even I have (aside from the keyfarmslot) all characters on lvl20. I recreated 2 characters last week when I started to play more than once a week again and still have some left from last year. In my opinion it would be great to not make it 20 Instant lvl but more like experience scrolls. Set them so they give you the amount of EXP you’d need for the first 20 lvls or something like that. I don’t know the exact amount but i guess you’d need 8-10 scrolls to instamax 1 character then. Whats even better is: (i guess) everyone has a certain lvl span he hates to gap (25-40 for me) and with a fixed EXP amoutn instead of insta Lvl20 this would be possible.
We’re getting a new Zone (similar to Continent without the sea to differentiate them, heck, technically Kryta and Elona are on the same Continent since there’s no sea to separate them other than the… sea of desert?)
take out the globe … there are actually 3 continents on our planet with “landbridges”. Europe, Asia and Africa. If i remember correctly north and south america are different continental plates as well … and there is still India which also is technically its own continent(al plate).
I get the point of your argument … but i had to say this, sorry
As for the OP’s post:
Mounts
… per se … its a no go for me. But a system similar to the worms in Elona (Gw1) would be quite tempting. (for those who never played GW1: you basically took control over a giant sand worm and moved around and had dmging abilities, this was limited to certain areas ofc)
Housing
I am not so sure if open world housing is a good idea. Most of the houses would be empty 90% of the time except for RP’ers houses. The option to decide where you character lives and so on is tempting though i guess it would be easier to implement if you place it in an instance.
Guild related Stuff
GvG, as fun as the concept was … in all my time playing GW1 i hardly participated in a GvG fight AvA was popular for control over cities in Cantha but that’s all afaik. The guild hall concept would be great and i imagine that there would be a possibility to personalize the guild halls. not only for Rp fans but also for PvP fans. guild hall could be places for 1v1’s without the need of a special arena. you could decide how your gates are defended (arrow carts, trebs, etc etc). The combination of the idea from GW1 with the possibilities of GW2 opens up a vast amount of possibilities. But its not a priority and i can imagine you would need quite a few dedicated people to get it to work properly.
to be frank i kinda agree with the OP.
it would be better if they upped the price of obtaining the commander per se than selling selling the whole commander system in a divide and conqer system.
By raising the price and integrating the new systems they could achieve the reduce in gold in the economy and reducing the number of new coms with no clues …
Ever been in a 10 com Teq attempt? or in a regular 4 com one where none of the com’s actually knew what to do? Quite frustrating … i don’t have com but i knew what to do, lets just say they ignored me because i have no Com
I know this should be posted in the “merged cantha thread” but apparently my search function can’t find the thread anymore o.O
I read through quite a part of the cantha thread and i noticed one thing: People seem to forget/don’ know about the diversity cantha had. Cantha was not the typical only asian continent. I guess you all know about the Canthan, Kurzick and Luxon cultures? Take some time and check them out. why? Well you would notice that while classic Canthan (kaineng population) is indeed influenced a lot by the thought of an imperial asian culture the Kurzick go a very different path.
They actually take a huge amount of influence from the gothic culture both the actual artistic one and the gothic subculture we have. They are not organized like a empire, rather there structure resembles that of aristocratic households banding together under the “lead” of the strongest of them.
The Luxon on the other hand are more structured like a tribe. I didn’t spend much time at the Luxon side, because I always loved the Kurzick. But from what I know I would compare them to the nomadic culture of the Huns.
So if my historical memory is correct the asian culture were not so happy about either of the cultures, both the european gothic one and the nomadic huns. Same goes for the canthans.
I know that there is a shroud of mystery about what happaned in cantha, but we do know that there are kurzick and luxon rebells (of course there are… they are both proud cultures) and thus i don’t think that the modern cantha would some mashup of asian only cultures.
On a sidenote if you compare our world history to the one of Guild Wars, Tyria resembles Europe in more than one way. As Europe Tyria is a region that was torn by wars for a very long time and only recently started to settle things in a more diplomatic way than war.
stopped playing guildwars due to reaching max gear with my fav. character. and no i don’t mena Ascended i mean exotic… no ascended for Condition necros available…. ich chekc back every patch … nothing yet. ANet pls do somethign … u just have to create a few items with Rabid/Carrion stats, can’t be to hard… can it?
Same here … I had to switch character because my playstyle as Necro was nearly impossible above Fractals 25 due to lack of ascended items … and with some replacement it just didn’t work as it used too ….
Pretty Please implement it! I really want to play my necro again…
