Yeah looks sweet, I haven’t had anything like that since I started. Haven’t been looking though tbh.
so i could get level 80 gear and transfer its looks to my level 30 gear?
Think you need the high end transmutation stone for lvl 80 gear, and it needs to be of a similar type ie heavy armour boots transmuted with heavy armour boots.
I just hit lvl 70 this evening and up to this point I have only had one half decent looking armour set. I am pretty much only doing pve which I assume may be the issue, perhaps doing dungeons and wvwvw is the way forward.
Personally though I wouldn’t get too hung up on armour when levelling, you out grow it quite quickly. Save your time and effort once you get to 80.
Top left icon, support tab. From there it’s all laid out with selection boxes and screen captures if required.
So I received a back brace for completing a personal story quest which has an upgrade slot. I have tried placing various jewels and runes in it but it will not accept any of them. Does anyone know what the deal is, am I missing something?
Also, I have levelled up quite a bit now since I got my brace and the stat boost is now negligible. I have looked on TP and can’t find any, are they quest only rewards or something?
Thanks in advance

“Magic find is an attribute that increases a player’s chance to receive rare loot from drops.”
Thanks
I have come across one or two items that increase magic find, trouble is I don’t have a clue what it does for me. I am a warrior and assume its for magic users.
Please can someone enlighten me?
Exploring in this game is great, the level of detail in the environments is immense.
The events concept is genius too, no more worrying about finding a group, just jump in and do your part.
It might not be everyone’s kind of game but it is most definitely mine.
I could swear there used to be an indicator on the upper left friends icon when a friend is online but it doesn’t seem to be working anymore. I have to open the friends window to see who’s online.
It’s not he biggest issue in the world but it is bugging me. Is there some way of fixing this?
My Norn warrior is named Magnus Bjorn which translates as mighty bear.
A bit cliche but who cares.
Thank god I’m not the only one who is finding the story quests hard.
I am an unashamed noob/ casual gamer, can someone please explain the process of ressing as i think I’m missing something.
I currently kite mobs until they either die or leave me alone so I can health regen.
The hearts are really more of a guide for where to be, and what level that surrounding area is. Doing just those will only give you a small amount of XP. Dynamic events are the main method, but if you only do those 2 things you will still be behind. The game is all about exploring, and they reward you for it.
Here’s my list of XP outlets in the game:
- Renowned Hearts - The heart quests, really meant to show you where to go. These are only a fraction of your leveling XP.
- Dynamic Events - Dynamic Events are the meat and potatoes of the questing. These are the replacement to traditional quest you get from NPCs. They happen on their own throughout the world and you can particiapte if you like, or keep walking. These start on their own without your interaction and are a good portion of your leveling XP.
- Triggered Dynamic Events - Explore everywhere, the game rewards random exploration, chances are that cave over there will start an event when you get close! Listen for NPCs talking about stuff – they are often referring to events, or secrets.
- Points of Interest/Vistas - Grab these around the world, you get XP for them, and finishing an entire zone’s collectibles will give you great rewards.
- Story Line - Do your story line when you’re an appropriate level for it.
- Gathering - Get the 3 gathering tools from a vendor and loot all plants/trees/ores you see as you get lots of XP from that!
- Crafting - Crafting gives XP as you create stuff, and a good amount too. Approximately 1 level for every 4 PvE levels (if you craft throughout leveling)
- Daily Achievement - If you check your achievements tab you’ll see that there’s a list of objectives for a daily goal. Completing this will give you a chest with XP, Money, and maybe an item. Repeatable each day.
- WvW - The World Vs. World PvP can be accessed even at level 1. Everything you do there counts towards your PvE character. You’ll get XP, Karma, Gold, even Items!
This is bang on.
The game rewards exploration and thoroughness. I 100% a zone before moving on and I actually end up a couple of levels higher going into the next zone.
If you look at the other profession forums you will find people are raising similar issues about them too. They all have their advantages, flaws etc.
It will take a while to balance them but it will happen, make valid points and hopefully ANET will look into it.
I found having more than one toon at an early stage too distracting. I deleted my 18 engineer and am focussing on my 30 warrior.
I will start another toon at some point but not yet. I just know I’ll end up with 5 low level alts while all my guild mates are at 80.
