i belive in scrapper, a remote stomp/rezz every 30 seconds could be a usefull thing.
and we have lot’s of lightning fields and a crazy whirl finishers…. RIP Stability

Im running with a copy-memser group, so speed is no issue.
Im running Vampirrism rune, to increase my surviveability.

To “counter” the perma/long stealth Mesmer, it’s important to know how he achive his high stealth uptime.
Basicly it’s acombinatio of the PU trait and the Torch trait.
First one increase the stealth time by 100%
the second trait reduce the cooldown of the torch by 1 1/2% each second he is in stealth.
The Mesmer uses ~3 skills to gain stealth:
Massinvisibil 10seconds on 72sec CD
Decoy 6 seconds on 32 sec CD
The Prestige 6seconds on 30-12 sec CD (12 seconds while in stealth)
When you are able to kick him out of stealth, (For example with the engie trait or a stealth trap) or you get lucky and you’re right next to him when the second effect of Prestige triggers, his combo is verry likely to be broken and he is visible for up to 30 seconds.

Necros can use their staff to detect the general location of the player.
Thiefs and Rangers can couse great danger to the mesmer via traps.
Engies have great access to the revelaed debuff.

In general:
Always try to fight him a chokepoint, to minimize his escape route.
Conditions are a great choice, as many PU mesmers lack condi removal.
If the Mesmer tryes to stay in stealth, keep killing his clones, to prevent him from applying damage to you while he is in stealth.
If you don’t feel like fighting a PU-mes, run as fast as you can. he will have a hard time to keep up with you, and shattering is not an option, as his clones can’t catch you.

Back in 2013 i was playing a cleric Guard in WvW Zerg situations, healed my zerg with healing tome… was impressed from all those green numbers around and so less dead allies. This guard died at the day, where we burned our might healing tome.
Seems my Guard has rised from the dead and come abck as a druid. but can the druid be as tanky as my clerik guard? need to learn a new proffession.

If you have a guard grouped with 3 boonshare mesmers, you’re going to happily be sharing boons back and forth between 3 boonshare mesmers and a guard thanks to how buff priority works.

yes for stacking this boons up you use the group, but once these buffs are up, you can spread out, in your zerg, so your group mates aren’t in range, to share the bonns with your zerg.

I tested it, loved it. If you don’t like it thats okay, im just here show an Option that works well for me and my mates.

Or just bring a guard instead, since they’ll give might, aegis, prot, stab, and swiftness all better than a mesmer can without gimping their build.

“gimping their build” you mean equip one sigil and maybe take inspirarition as traitline?
i hardly call that gimping their build.
And better than a guardian? propaly not if alone, but if said guard groups up with 3 boonshare mesmers, most of his boons last up to ~30 times longer.
and more than 5 people can profit from his boons…
Jeah Guardian is absolutely better than boonshare mesmer and guard has to sacrifice nothing for boonshare, right?

I and many others have tried our very best to make mesmers viable in terms of large damage output in a zerg. Unfortunately, it’s simply not possible due to the mechanics of the class. You’ll try something, get a bit of success with it, then go play a staff ele for comparison and realize just how incomparable the two are. Ever since glamours were nerfed into the ground, mesmer has been 100% totally nonviable for significant damage output other than in a pick group.

I definitely agree with this. That’s not to say we’re useless… but I definitely don’t think “damage” is my top contribution to my group. Reflects, Pulls, Veil, Portal, and Interrupts are usually where I feel I’m helping the most. Not the most bag-rewarding tasks, unfortunately. A staff ele or well necro will usually land me more income than my mesmer.

I’m really hoping HoT changes this a bit. Shield’s limitless Tides of Time skill, Wells, and faster recharge from Alacrity/F5 may help ease some of the pain a bit. Not sure it’ll overtake the dedicated AoE damage builds, but might get us closer.

in my Opinion (AoE)-Damage is not everything.
I would prefer one player in downstate, over 5 Players almost dead. And Mesmer is great at keeping pressure on a single Target.
Lockdown + no projectile +1200range is a powerfull combo to make shure that our target stay in unhealthy places and will kiss the floor sooner or later, to rally 5 of our unlucky friends. Or well, leave the lockdown alone, and buff your friends, with all that lovely boons they need to make the kill.

Oh and i guess the Elite Well will be amazing Pull+flow+stabiliy+damage.

Upgrading a keep takes effort and time and should reward the owner of the keep.
And taking it, should take effort and/or time from the attacker as well.
Right now it’s more like this:
run to the front gate,
build 2+ flame rams
if the keep is defended, drop some aoe on the walls, drop waterfields at the gates,
wait for the gates to open.
If a zerg is waiting inside build catapult, and laugh at the AC’s inside
Still not working? build Golem
Also not working? take something else and come back later.

In my opinion (defensive) siege should be balanced around this idea:(if they knock at the gate with 1 flame ram)
Level of the Tower || Number of defender || Number of attacker || time to get in

Right now, you can open 90% of the keeps quick and dirty via flame ram.
even if they are defended by some scouts.
Thanks for the design of current keepwalls, it’s verry easy and save to attack someone on the walls, while it’s risky and not that easy to attack someone outside the wall.
I would love it, if it turns out to be a high risk high reward thing to stand next to keep wall/gate. this could be/was achived by the old pre nerf AC.
Since Arrowcarts on walls are also easyly destroyed by Deathshroud#4 and Meteorshower, i would apreciate it, if you get spot’s on each keep wall, dedicated for AC’s which can’t be hit by Meteorshower or deathshroud#4 (maybe a bit strong, need some closer look)
This change would force the attacker to invest more time and supplys for long ranged siege like catapults to attack a defended keep.

This would help both sides a bit. With this changes, it would be worth it to scout/defend a keep. (Right now the best aktion a defender can do is using a siege blocker, since AC’s are to easy to kill from outside)
Defenders are more likely to leave their keep to kill the long ranged Siege, generating more fights between defenders and attackers.

Conditions and stealth, it's ruining the game

Ok guys, seems like someone is crying for a stealth counter. How about:
group up with/play an engineer (Lock On works wonder vs stealth)
group up with/play a ranger (revealed debuff available)
droping a anti stealth trap (ok you need some supplys for it)
or wait for HoT and
group up with/play a dragonhunter (revealed available on trap)
group up with/play a scrapper (reveal on elite)

or wait even more, dev’s already confirmed antistealth will be available to any class, engie was only the first who get it

PS: if this is not an option to you, how about playing a CC/condi havy build, most Condi-PU Mesmers have no access to stability and lack condition removal beside the torch trait. Know your oponent, and know how to exploit his weaknes is key in GW2

PPS: still not an option to you? treat him as a cele D/D ele, and call some friends to get rid of him. (The ones who know what they are doing, not the ones who faceroll to the floor)

Ok, Veil is maybe an overrated skill, but let’s talk about an underrated Skill: Sigil of inspiration

I don’t know if it’s worth it in this “small” gvg groups, but with 3+ Mesmers you can stack boons to a ridiculus amount of times. (+3min swiftnes, +2min furry, +1min vigor +2min regeneration ~1min protection)
with ~6 mesmers it’s pretty easy to maintain these bonns on a +30 (Public)zerg.
You can run from your spawn to any point on the map, and be buffed all the time.

You get surprised by an ennemy? no problem, your zerg is already buffed and ready to strike back. And once you’re infight, it’s verry likely, that most of your zerg is moving around with more boons than usual.
Teamwork + Sigil of Inspiration is a very strong tool.
Your zerg may notice the difference

And huh surpries surprise, the mesmer dosen’t lose that much (he can still burst and survive) if he specs for boonshare, but his team will gain a lot.

Daredevil / trickery/ deadly arts will be the new condi spec, it’s fun to use
i was able to stack 25+ bleedings on my target, and 6+ venoms + 5confu + several cover condis. oh and these 25 stacks of bleeding are aoe….
while stacking up this bleeds im dodging alle the time, so i am hard to catch, and if you manage to place some condi on me, i will clean it with my next dodge, and the next dodge will come, i promise. When you fix this daze bug, condi daredevil will be a pain to meet in the field.

the new elite is awesome if it works, but would be great, to have a greater window of oportunity to hit the next attack of the chain. 3seconds for each attack would be great, so if a thief is porting away in downstate, you can run/port to him, and finish the job.

Do free players going into wvw affect the server status? Would really suck to send a server to full based on free ‘alt’ accounts that go into wvw and do nothing to help, but are there to hinder…..

Don’t know if answered jet, i’m tl;dr, but no, Anet is going to change this “server is full thing” to only be affected by WvW aktivity as WvW is the only part of the game where the Home Server matters.

In my Opinion spying is like cheating.

It isn’t cheating because everyone has access to it, more like bending the rules. However in true war and warfare spying is a real thing no matter how dirty a tactic. Just like in real war there are anti-spy tactics that can get put in place given spy’s causing to much of an advantage.

Downloading and installing a cheat tool is verry easy and quick.
(5 Min google search + 5min download + 5min setup)
Installing GW2 on a second device and creating a second Account takes much more time. (1min google search + several hours download & patching)
So hacking is more accessable than multiboxing.
And i guess we can confirm, that using hacking tools is cheating. so to say something isn’t cheating, because everyone can do it, is an invalid statement.

If you feel like recon will help your team, how about doing it in a fair way, by loging in to your own server, and follow the ennemy zerg around with a stealth havy class like mesmer or thief?
It would be great if one person were only allowed to be loged in with one account at a time, sadly it’s almost impossible to control this. So it’s the task of us, the community, to stand up against spys and trolls.

In my Opinion spying is like cheating.
Yes, Anet can’t do much about it, BUT Fairplay is something completly different.

You can play cheesy builds, do what ever you want, BUT using a second account/sitting in the Teamspeak channel of your ennemy Team, isn’t fair, or honorable, it’s just disgusting.

If you are a commander: i please you, do not use informations provided by spys. If possible kick them out of your ts channel, do not let spys corrupt our ingame experience.

If you are a spy: Is winning a WvW Matchup so important to you, that it seems valid to you, to minimize the joy of a whole server? Is it so important that it’s ok to forget anything you know about fairplay? Is your server so bad that you need to break the “unwritten” rules?

if you are a dev. is there really nothing you can do about spys? is there a way, you can change the AGB, to forbid this behavior?

Fighting Mesmers, PU

well, a pu mesmer has grater stealth uptime than a thief, (up to 47 seconds without being revealed, and the next stealth skill will be off cd in only a few seconds.)
keeps applying damage to you via klones while he is in stealth.

One of the best ways to deal with him is to try to instagib him in a single burst rotation.
But to keep the mesmer in place is the difficult part, blink F3 and F4 are great tools to stop you from bursting him. also due to high stealth uptime it’s verry unlikely to attack him without a cooldown ready to escape your burst, while you need to burn your cd’s to stay allive.
A condition build is also unlikely to win the fight, due to high stealth uptime with decent condi removola on the side of the mesmer. and only a few cover conditions on side of the thief.

But if the mesmer is as skillfull as your thief, and you don’t have enough damage to burn him in a single burst, stealth up, and look for an other target, or freinds to help you (i recommend an engie to kick him out of stealth)

Yes but the decoy and prestige are self-only and do have a shorter timer cooldown, but do not affect any other players — so even if they paired up, they could only invis a group for 14 seconds total (each) — and mass invis has a 90 second cooldown. Veil is 90 seconds as well. (And decoy is 40 seconds, prestige is the only fast one really at 30 seconds).

So I can’t see how they could permastealth. Something else is up there.

Prestige comes off cd a lot faster, with torch trait each second in stealth reduced the cd of torch skill by 1 1/2 sec, so after 12 seconds of stealth prestige is up again.

f(x)= 30secCD – (x * 1,5) – x=y
30 – (x * 1,5) – x = 0 |-30
=> -x * 1,5 – x = -30 | t
=> x (-1,5 – 1) = -30 | /-2,5
=> x= 12secCD

on reddit someone said it’s possible for a singel mesmer, to get 47 sec of stealth. after this he will be visible for a few seconds.

I loved the lockdown mesmer pre patch, and hoped to create something simmilar.
This build is aimed at WvW Zerg surfing, while still being viable, when noone else is nearby, to help me.

Does it make any sense? what would you change, to improve it?
Some things, i really love in the pre patchversion, and would love to keep:
Fokus 4, so great in wvw to pull some off a cliff.
GS, absolute love this weapon. It feels so right.
Rune of Vampirism, can’t count how often mistform saved my live.
Everythign else: i’am open for improvements.

Little (and maybe to simple) calcualtion:
A lot of people claimed, they won’t buy the Xpan for 45€ but would if it cost something around 35€
Let’s guess 3/10 people claim this.
so how much can you lower the prize, to earn the same money?
45€ * 7 / 10 = 31,5€
So when you sell this Xpan for 35€ you will earn more money in the end.(not considering, that this will keep the sales in gem-shop at a higher amount).

And now please expalin me, why not to lower the prize.

Hmm first time the idea seemed nice, but…
well i tried hard to get my gear, i am not ready jet, (only exotic and i still need some expensive items…)
so nearly every body can kill me, and pick the nice/good pieces from my gear. I won’t be able to finish my gear in pvp couse when ever i get a new item there will be a guy who just take this one away from me…
