Music in Draconic Mons (solved)

I think some of the music from the original soundtrack isn’t actually on the GW2 soundtrack release because it was from GW1 Prophecies and Eye of the North. The soundtracks for those are on Youtube:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MUe64FtLs3U

Thank you!
This is exactly it, the track I’ve been looking for is The Door of Komalie from Prophecies. I’d have never found it on my own, I haven’t played Guild Wars 1.

It’s not a season 3 track, that’s for sure. It bothers me so much hearing it in game and not being able to find it. I think it might be from the original soundtrack, but I can’t find it in there. Perhaps it was omitted, or I’m just skipping it somehow.

Hello. There is one particular piece of the soundtrack that I’m trying to find for quite some time, but repeated hearings of the OST yield no results. It is a moody, ominous track that that can now be sometimes heard when exploring Draconic Mons and which I’ve previously heard in the Mad King’s Labyrinth, so it can’t be new. I know how vague such description is, and so I ask- can any Guild Wars 2 music enthusiast point me in the right direction and provide a list of tracks used in Draconic Mons? With such info, I could perhaps finally find it by a process of elimination and put my brain at ease. Thank you!

Race: Charr

Item in question: Sabetha’s Crucible / Scorcher backpiece

Hello. My issue is very simple – Sabetha’s Crucible is flying at least ~10cm above a Charr’s back. It looks awful, especially when you take into consideration that it costs 600 magnetite shards to obtain. Quite a long time of raiding to be invested into a faulty item.

Why does Anet keeps nerfing Engineer?

Lol… plays the most OP class in the game… complains one skill that was literally an “I WIN” button gotten nerfed…

How was a slow moving low damage aa an I win button?

It was if you were a point-glued snail expecting to tank everything because “I’m a guardian!”. Said snails will still rage when Engineers switch to back nades.

Also this thread is rubbish, people barge in here to argue about different things that make Engineer annoying in pvp when in reality what OP was referring to was the Mortar, which was never close to being overpowered.

im just so suprised. i really didn’t see it coming. guess 2-3k autos were too much. wonder when life blast will be nerfed.

It won’t because everything non-engineer related is always overlooked. They nerfed nades by 30% in the past, now they do the same to the Mortar which was not nearly as good from the beginning, all as a part of their “small steps”, what a joke. I will be amazed if this is reverted, anet has shown in the past they do not admit to mistakes.

No one complained about this and yet BAM it’s dead, no fun allowed. It’s like someone in anet had a personal grudge against a mortar Engi.

If it’s not then bye bye Mortar, you were too fun, too pure for this world.

HoT Price Feedback + Base game included [merged]

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Roo.2037

What happened anet?
First you say the expansion won’t be standalone and discount the base game so that people can prepare and now that you made some quick buck you do a heel turn, outright remove the option to buy the base game from your store and replace it with an extremely overpriced expansion that only seems reasonable if you didn’t have the base game yet, which we do. In addition, you do not include a free character slot with the standard version of HoT as a bonus middle finger to your old players so that they need to spend an additional 10 bucks/euro (euro shouldn’t be in 1-1 conversion with $ btw but that’s a different topic) to even enjoy one of the main points of the expansion which is the new class.
Your “bonus freebie” excuse is miserable and doesn’t change how you already made hundred of people buy the base game when it was discounted to prepare for Hot just a while ago, not to mention how it treats the veteran players whom you hate with passion and who -before someone comes out with the excuse we got free content- purchased a lot of gems over these years to support you and make future expansions possible.

In attachment there is a screenshot of the expansion faq before and after they announced the pre-purchase deals. I will not reply to the “entitlement” comments from people who enjoy being used, nor the condescending remarks from people who happen to have a lot of disposable income via their work/mommy’s wallet.

Revert Camera Changes

All these “don’t like it don’t use it” people not even reading the OP…
The problem here is that people can exploit the camera changes, putting people who do not at a disadvantage.

It’s not “exploiting the camera”, it’s literally just using it. Anyways, Anet know that it can be used for way and they even approved of it- go watch the PoI about the camera changes if you don’t believe me.

So yeah, it’s working as intended. There’s nothing to fix.

Oh, so putting arrow carts by the walls to destroy other machines you shouldn’t even see is now officially a part of the player experience, very fun and now it sure as hell doesn’t seem cheap that I know this. Thanks specs-man!

Shouldn’t even see by what standarts? by game standarts you could always see them, by real life standarts…uhm, then we’d have to remove the option of arrow cart aiming at siege on any walls at all since you shouldnt be able to see it unless its really poor placed.
I don’t understand the complaints about this, this is not a new mechanic people, as long as they knew how everyone could do it before.

And do you really think it’s a good mechanic? It was kind of an exploit before and now it went official. You could bug out all the HoM titles before too, I guess it means that’s okay.
I posted here in the first place because people make pointless posts without actually reading the OP, which brings a legitimate concern despite the overly sensationalist title. Let’s stay on topic.

Look, if there is something bugged here then it is the fact that you can aim an arrow cart somewhere where there is no line of sight for the arrow cart in the first place. And in contrast to e.g. trebs it has a direct ground target aiming instead of direction and power.

If you think the cam is wrong because you can actually see the place you want to target then I have to say to you: the only solution to that is to make WvW use first person view only. Then it will be “realistic” as in “you can only see from your characters position”. Do you want that? I’d rather have the arrow cart aiming fixed. Or switched to a treb-like aiming, but that would be too slow.

LoS is what I meant, I never asked for realism in WvW. I’ll edit my post.

Costume summonables - no summon duration

in Suggestions

Posted by: Roo.2037

Roo.2037

Many (if not all) costume sets with toys come with a skill to summon a creature which works pretty much as a miniature, following player around and looking amusing. Unlike minis, however, these summons only last for 70 seconds and as much as I like to have a feline familiar following me, having to re-cast it over and over again is really annoying so I end up never doing it. Making them last forever or at least extending their summon duration would not only make them more popular with players, but also potentially boost costume sales by a bit, seeing as the costume would come with something player can show off even while not having town clothes toggled on. The alternate option would be just to get rid of the skills in general and give the players with costumes miniatures of the creature they were before able to summon.

PvE Bombing - Knight's, Carrion or Soldier?

Roo.2037

Hello.
I just hit level 80 with my Engineer and thought it’d be a good idea to gear myself up with some exotics. However, because I’m not too rich, I can’t afford to buy more than one set of armour and I can’t decide which stats should I focus on. I made this thread hoping someone more experienced could help me out.
My build is 10/0/30/30/0, I play PvE almost exclusively and use Bombkit a lot because it’s great against mindless melee mobs. Ranged enemies are a bit more problematic, which is why I don’t want to go glass-cannon. Now, so far I’ve been using Knight’s gear as crits with bombs are neat and I carry a rifle around, but I never really got any great crit-chance which is why I’m not sure if it’s the best choice. Someone told me to go for Carrion, but I’m pretty sure I read somewhere that Condition Damage bombs deal doesn’t scale too well. Soldier would be the cheapest to get (for karma) and gives lots of power with great survivability, but picking it would also mean I’d kill things slower.
I hope you guys can help me out, any feedback is appreciated!

What people want is not what the game needs

Roo.2037

What the game needs is players, who are more likely to come if the game has more features and fun activities. When I get bored of some game, I do not throw it out, I put it away and come back to it whenever I feel like playing it again, it’s the same with WvW and jumping puzzles in GW2 – novelty wearing off is a silly argument.
And for something entirely different, I’ve seen people saying they want SAB to be removed so they can sell their Super Greatsword skins for loads of gold, as everybody saw what happened with Halloween skins. I wonder how many of naysayers here have this kind of motivation…

Turret cooldowns are too long

in Engineer

Posted by: Roo.2037

Roo.2037

I made a thread about the 5-minute life of turrets and was quite disappointed nobody except me seems to care, but now that I came here, I see this

Agreed I dislike this change after recently starting to play turrets some in spvp I have had them despawn on me at some inopportune times… basically like you said make it 15 mins instead of 5..

A lot of people just use turrets for the self-destruct blast finisher, and maybe in conjunction with the accelerant packed turrets trait. To me it seems like a waste, but that’s how some people feel they’re best used. It’s things like the long cooldowns and now this despawn timer that make people do that though.

I think the main problem with them was afk farming in PvE, which I agree was an issue, but I also agree that 5 minutes is too short.

As far as PvP goes, if a player isn’t able to take a capture point because it has nothing but turrets on it, then they don’t deserve that point.

Didn’t you mean to reply here instead? Temper said nothing about turret life durations, and the “15 mins instead of 5” sounds oddly familiar…

5 minutes of turret duration is too short.

in Engineer

Posted by: Roo.2037

Roo.2037

I don’t often use turrets, very rarely in fact. But when I do, I’m planning to have them up for a longer period of time. Turrets are squishy and have excessively long cooldowns, so the only way to prevent them from getting destroyed in a second (which leaves us empty-handed, questioning our choice of utilities) is placing them in hard to reach and not obvious locations. However, now that they only last for 5 minutes (without any visible timer too), strategically placing turrets in advance is… well, silly – the zerg might come later than expected, with our turrets having 1 minute of life left (or blowing up as it arrives). 5 minutes is less than many PvE events last, too. I understand that the time limit was introduced to stop players from afk-farming events, but it could have been done in a way that doesn’t hurt the majority of players who did not abuse their turrets in such ways.
I believe that the fix we need , and which would still prevent afk-farming, is simply to increase the duration of our turrets to 15 or even 10 minutes. This way the turrets could once again be more useful for defending, especially with the neat buffs they got last patch (crossing fingers for more in the future!).

My character has a nasty, blocky hole in his neck, especially visible when he is holding a weapon of any kind. Loading different locations, changing gear and restarting the game doesn’t help. I’m pretty sure the hole wasn’t there when I made this character, as it is well visible from the side. I think it appeared after I completed one of the story missions.
