Hi,

I am looking for a PVP guild where people are willing to improve and always try their best. Not nessesary 24/7 online but with an attitude of wanting to win. Wvw and sometimes fractals or dungeons I appriciate also.

I am 43 but I still pack a punch. Fairly new to the game and I Prefer a mature guild.

Tired off solo queue and would love to do some team PVP with Guildies.

Running a fast pc and comms as TS or mumble is of course nps.

If you happen to have a spot in a decent active size guild please let me know here or in game.

Thank you for reading this

These temps are normal for a air cooled card. Just get evga precision or msi afterburner and put your fan speed on around 70% and you stay under the 80C easy.

Mine 690 is watercooled atm but i remember when i used air that even on 80% fan speed it’s hardly notable.

They can take a blowing 95C even but for long life value i suggest keeping it under 80C and not always rely on the automatic fan speed.

water cooling is the way forward but takes some guts to do that with a 800 pound card

CPU, CPU, CPU. Honestly, it appears that you need, at a minimum an i5 running at least 4.2* or more to run it well. And AMD? Forget it, they just don’t even get close, even the “high end” ones.

2600k on 4.8 ghz is not enough combined with a GTX 690 and 16 GB ram. I am not going to crack it up more for a DX9 game my water runs hot already on that speed.

Eventually Bethesda released a patch that fixed the CPU code in the game and increased performance by a crap ton lol.

Which is easy to do when 1) Bethesda started with crap code and 2) they incorporated changes made by the player-base.

-+-

I’m only seeing Kepler users complaining; Fermi and prior users seem to be happy with GW2 performance. Perhaps there are issues with the 600-series cards and this game, especially since nVidia has stated it hasn’t looked at GW2 yet.

Tips for PC noobs:
- Don’t assume. Find facts. Go where they point and if you want help, present the facts. i.e.:
— Look at your CPU utilisation and clock speeds
— Look at your GPU utilisation and clock speeds (how embarrassing if Flash were dropping your GPU speed to 400MHz)
— Look at your pagefile usage if < 4GB RAM
— Look at your resource usage by other processes (I didn’t think a background torrent client would be a problem!)
— Post real FPS and its context; “lags” isn’t specific or measurable (or even the right term)

nvida stated that there is only so much they can do since gw2 is more cpu based.

There is not for nothing zillion of post made by now that state how crap the engine deals with cpu utilization.

It’s people like you that are to ignorant to see the truth behind these posts and Arenanet need to get there act together and look into it or at least answer all those that have problems.

Not everyone is a computer naab and those do actual understand there systems have the same freaking problems. Everything is and has been tried by now and for a game that used DX9, yeah DX9…. You should not have frame drops to 20-30 fps when you pan your camera or in wvw.

I have a gtx 690 and run a 2600k, i am sure it’s more than enough to run a DX9 game don’t you think…

Stop being smartass and try to save the world. There is something wrong within the gw2 engine and that needs a fix. (point)

Running with everything at maximum with supersampling set to native I average 35-50FPS.

Did you even bother fiddling with the in-game settings? Reflections: All is hella demanding.

High-end hardware has never meant that you could max everything and get 60FPS.

No i just notice it did not work and though i come complain here…

The beta drivers helped me out, just installed the new non beta drivers but haven’t yet tested.

Pre-beta drivers when I went to the Black Citadel I would sometimes drop fps so badly it would be like watching a slide show, alt tabbing to my desktop fixed it for a while. The beta drivers fixed this, heres hoping the new drivers do to.

The 306.02 beta drivers are exactly the same build as the new 306.23 WHQL so there is NO DIFFERENCE related to gw. There is some new tweaks for wow in it and

306.02: r304_70-80
306.23: r304_70-93

306.02 has even newer physX

quote nvidia:

Yes, these are very similar to 306.02. The main changes are compatibility for 680M, 660 and 650, new PhysX software for Borderlands 2, and other behind-the-scenes things for it and WoW: MoP.

Nvidia just released the new drivers that enables SLI support just FYI

I know as i am a member of guru3d forums. They add nothing.

Nvidia rep

Guild Wars 2 is heavily CPU-bound, meaning it benefits more from CPU power than GPU power. As I said on GF.com earlier (http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/articles/nvidia-geforce-306-23-whql-drivers-released/#comment-649045916), there was little time between the release of 306.02 beta and the finalizing of this driver, so we’ve had little opportunity to investigate ways to improve performance and fix the Ambient Occlusion profile. Rest assured, we will continue to look at ways of improving the end-user experience in the game

short version: nothing changed

I never said was a “high” end system, (I also have many friends who run $4k+ machines no problems in gw2) However if a higher performing machine is struggling where lower end machines are running fine. Its a much higher probability it’s on your end and not Anets. That is my point. Just because you have a “high” end machine doesn’t mean things are set to run smoothly. I find it odd that only a handful of higher end users are having issues, while many are not.

handfull… you already go wrong there.

Please just leave, i am really not up for discussion a problem that is acknowledged even by nvidia and i am sure they have more knowledge than you. Do some research before even trying to contribute. There is no discussion that there is a problem, there is a problem and that is end off (point)

I run an i5-3570, 8 GB RAM, and a GTX 670. I have ZERO performance issues. Rarely drops below 55-60 fps, and very little stutter. I am not sure why so many people jump to blame Anet when their higher end PC won’t handle the game.

I have had poor performance, fps, and latency issues in other games and swore up one side and down the other it was a game side issue. In the end, it was in fact my own settings. Just one setting, one box checked that doesn’t need to be and it can completely crush performance. Before pointing fingers, try making adjustments on your end.

Do you really think i would make this topic if there was not a problem?

The guru’s on guru3d where nvidia reps are posting are acknowledging that there is a huge problem. I myself am i certified system engineer and work in the pc cooling industries for 10 years now. I am not a noob that does not know how to tweak anything.

I point fingers when i have facts and yours is surely not contributing in any way

The problem: Numerous players get low fps or fps drops with high end machines.

The facts: Nvidia stated that the game is more CPU based than GPU based and they can only do so much.

If the game is CPU based more than it still does not explain why high end systems with at least i2500k’s and higher do get these fps drops.

Short version: The game is under performing on high end systems. People did not spend a lot of money on there pc’s to find out Guildwars 2 still runs bad.

Solutions: There is only so much Nvidia can do and countless of forums with people that have knowledge are pointing towards the engine.

The game is only DX9 … Our high end cards are perfectly capable of running dx11 games on full force with no hick ups.

How i feel: At this moment i feel i am in the middle. Nvidia saying there is only so much we can do and Arenanet not answering any topics about it than merging them and let players find home brew solutions.

Well presto there are no solutions and i think you have a huge engine problem. I have faith in you Arenanet that you will solve it, come out with a statement or at least let all these people know what is happening.

The game is still playable (beside wvw, camera panning and any city) and we all love it as i think it’s the best game release for while.

Please give us a update either here or reddit or the wiki, because this is a serious problem and it already makes people stop playing.

Thank you for your attention.

Disable AO as everyone was advised in the beta version of these drivers, yet they still shipped with AO enabled and might give glitches. One thing to check it is a glitch guild logo.

As phaze posted, the Nvidia rep clearly stated there is only so much they can do and basically it’s arena’s engine that makes high end specs useless.

There is nothing on the wiki about this major problem, but basically anyone with a high end system suffers from these fps drops.

I am getting really annoyed that about the fact there is none from Arenanet answering what the crack is going on and how they going to fix this. I did not buy a gtx 690 worth 850 pound and a i2600k cpu to find out my machine is still under performing.

There is a huge topic on guru3d about it also, people are going to give up on gw2 already because of this and well…. arenanet has your money already.

its not fps issues only also gpu usage and memory go up.at least give us simple `we work on it`.i was having 80+ fps untill last few days.
and this statement ``Note: Due to potential changes, system requirements may change over time and you may be required to upgrade your current system (or obtain a new system) to continue to play the game.`` is very mean and sinister,i bought tghe game because i knew i can play it at about 90 fps, which i did until last two patches.please fix it!

I am having fps issues with a gtx 690, thats a 850 pound gfx card so i doubt upgrading would solve anything…

I do think it’s more a nvidia driver issue tbh as the secret world suffers from the same problems on high end cards.

one would expect to sit on the front row with that kind of money spend on a gfx card but the truth is far from it

I am more worried by the fact that my gtx 690 on sli under performs in gw2 and gets low fps in some places. I have to use single card to avoid these problems even with latest beta drivers.

I want to try and enable my surround, but what the point if if i get low fps on a 850 pound gfx card when sli does nothing than spreading the load over 2 cards instead of fully using them
