Bumping for great justice. Also, I cuss a lot!
After being under the effects of a Karma booster for 55min, I have achieved diminishing returns! Is this normal? If so, why would I buy a 5 pack of boosters if I can’t maximize the effects for the duration of 1 booster?
Unless I’m amazing (which I doubt).
I was thinking about making one, and calling it ‘The Sock Shredders’. Any takers?
I like this thread, so I’ll pile on my thanks as well. It’s an amazing looking zone, the jump puzzle was a blast.
Well done!
No, they don’t reset. You do have to get all the same points on each of the 3 BL maps though.
I’m pretty sure Legendary’s , and other similar skins are meant to be a money / time sinks. What else are you going to do with all your gold / time in game?
I don’t know why everyone keeps kittening about it, do a /age to put things into perspective for gods sake.
WvW the way it was meant to be:
- only siege weapons can damage doors and walls stops players from zerging doors and walls
- remove AOE 5 player dmg cap from siege weapons, makes siege weapons something to fear again
Siege weapons can’t hit players, siege weapons should be able to hit more players?
/mindblown
Race change would be nice =D
I was dancing in LA last night with some other players, and someone mentioned that I looked like I was mashing grapes.
Other than /surprised and /threaten, our emotes are terribad. I like my ranger to much to reroll though, I’d give up some hefty gems to get a race change =D
Putting 40 exotic level 80 Staffs into the Mystic Forge and guess what happened?

I’d just like to point out a few things that everyone seems to be missing:
1: Legendary weapons are just skins, the stats are insignificantly better than those of normal exotics.
2: Legendaries are time investments / money sinks. I can make an easy 10g / week with less than 1 hour of time play a day. For those of you who have already attempted to get your precursor, imagine how much gold you would have right now. What would you be doing with all of that? Probably nothing.
3: Relax.
Almost every thread I’ve seen about people complaining about not getting a precursor seems to want it NOW. What are you going to do when you get it? kitten about something else I’d imagine.
7 times complete:
5x as a human ele, no boost
2x as a charr ranger, 10%
Mad king clocktower is pretty easy. I’ve done it 5 times since release, 2 of those had been back to back. I think its harder to make the gold necessary for the legendary then it is to do the clocktower.
I run a condition / prec / power build on my ranger, and can take down vet giants in Cursed Shore.
There shouldn’t be any hating going on, especially for Devs who take the time to actually talk with us.
There is no pay to win. The stats for Legendaries are the same as exotics. They only have additional graphics and particle effects.
You cannot pay money to get a distinct advantage over other people. If you people think that Legendary weapons are ‘winning’ you guys need to go outside and play some sports, or at least some board games or something.
I approve of this message. And I try to remind myself that legendaries are just skins everytime I see the cost necessary for the precursor!
I’m pretty jelly. I’ve pretty much missed out on all the money making routines that all the legendary hero’s profited on.
Last week my precursor was 150g (recently found a way to make 16g+ a week farming nodes / events… was getting close), and now its 350g. Pushed me back like 22 weeks at my current rate (still not to shabby). By the time I do gather that much, I’ll have over a million karma, and the price will probably have increased again.
Less then 24hrs into the match, and it’s looking like it will be a promising week!
With love, from GoM!
Please fix Karma merchant from double selling items I have already purchased.

When I look over karma recipes that I’ve already learned, it tells me that I already know them.
It’s a skin, you have to transmute its look over some other heavy armor for it to be wearable.
Less rares, more exotics. When I try, I plan on doing it right.
I don’t understand why people keep throwing rares at the Mystic Forge in hope of scoring a precursor. Why not save your gold / mats and make exotics to throw at it, or just buy it off the TP? Depending on how much precursors cost when I finish my Karma / gold grind will determine if I want to try throwing exotics at the Mystic forge, or just buying my precursor.
As I understand it, the best chances for receiving a precursor back from the mystic forge is based off the rarity of the items you throw at it. So, named exotics > exotics > rares.
Hey guys / gals.
Is anyone else’s monthly achievement borked? The 100k xp requirement part of the achievement is coming up for me as all ???’s.
Posting here because I know they’re used in the Mystic Forge.
Thanks!
I play on GoM. I agree with just about every already stated in this thread, we do have a population problem, seems that most of the people in WvW currently want to PvE or mindlessly get slaughtered.
As for the hacking reputation… I feel like we’ve been black balled because of a few bad apples. It’s unnecessary drama that continues to demoralize the server. TBH, I’m impressed that none of us have pulled you guys down with us. I’ve seen several hackers on opposing servers the past two engagements. I’d appreciate it if everyone grew the kitten up a little bit. /end rant.
I think gear + levels both matter. I tend to aim for players with green arrows first, they’re easy kills. Big crits give = big smiles.
I seem to have the most problems with the ones that seem to be in perma stealth. Attack, stealth, attack, stealth, etc. AoE’s / traps don’t seem to keep them visible.
I had a long something something typed out, but somehow it got eaten, so I’ll paraphrase:
http://en.gw2codex.com/build/18805
Carrion shortbow (5% dmg sigil), Berserker longbow(5% dmg sigil), drakehound for PvP, Arctodus for PvE. Full rampager gear(undead sigil) / accessories.
Its a glass cannon build that does a bit of everything (except survival, don’t leave home alone). Rocking 1k condition, 64% crit, 1.8k power.
PS. Its kinda weird, but I enjoy it thoroughly.
QZ is only useful in melee range (4 seconds without heals in someones face can be painful), or with a short bow (stacking bleeds primarily). It doesn’t affect my longbow in any manner I find useful, I find the buff situational at best (like if I’m chasing someone down).
Find a race that you like, and go with it. The racial abilities are pretty moot.
The only problem like this is large guild may be force to break up to spread out.
Or you’ll still get some of the super-power servers because a guild will just plan to move over all at once to get on the lowest pop server.
The other issue is server pop != WvW pop. ET is (was?) relatively low pop but still have WvW queue times because they have a lot of PvPers.
And just because a server has a lot of people in WvW doesn’t mean they’re all PvPers. Some might just be going to check it out, some might be trying to get 100%.
So how, then, do you make sure the WvW populations are evenly distributed?
I believe I answered all of this in my previous post. Those servers who have oceanic players and can field a full WvW match 24/7 can be paired against other servers who can do the same (at some point I hope).
My idea was to limit the amount of players on the field, to whatever server has the fewest players on that map. IE: Gate of Madness can only field 15 people at 2 A.M., therefore, Crystal Desert / Blackgate can only have 15 (it’s just an example, don’t get your panties in a bunch). This way, teams will be fair, and the game is back to coordination and team work (as I perceived WvW is supposed to be). This will only work if server transfers are restricted in some manner, be it through payment or time (having wait X amount of time before transferring again). Queue times will always be a problem, I imagine someone is screaming about them in response as they read this.
I am not concerned with large guilds having to break up and spread out. If they have to split up and separate to less populated servers, then so be it. I imagine the lesser populated servers will welcome those extra people with open arms. Hopefully, populations will even out across all the servers.
People trying to 100% the map for achievements should be an insignificant factor, we will still have players from every server trying to PvE (my server is fond of killing the bloody Grub for some reason) or do the jump puzzle.
After having re-read my post(s), I had the thought that maybe that these servers who can field a 24/7 onslaught will eventually be paired against each other in the long run. And all this discussion is for naught, we seem to have forgotten that the game has only been out for a few weeks =D.
After some careful deliberation and having read some other peoples posts about balancing issues (in relation to server population problems), it is my personal opinion that the best way to balance WvW would be to limit the amount of players that any server can field based upon the server that is currently fielding the least.
The teams will always be even between the 3 servers, buffs aren’t necessary for those doing poorly, queue time’s already suck.
This will only work if server transfers cost time or money, so the same guild can’t hop to another server and hold all the player slots (I know Crystal Desert has been doing that for Blackgate), in addition to some others that have been popping up on the forums).
Anyways, just my 2 cents.
Did anyone notice that when running in snow, your footprints are backwards? =D
