Unbreakable Choir Bell time limit!

It really would make more sense to have the bells active for more then 1 minute. I could see a lot of creativity coming out of the GW2 community (bell choir shows in Lions Arch), but the 1 minute time limit really makes it hard to play most songs. This change should be made to both the infinite bell and the single use ones.

Best Place to Farm Gifts?

I would need to time it, but roughly 15 gifts in a half hour. That is comparable to bells (12 / half hour), but you also get loot off of the creatures that spawn. I earned a decent number of woolen items in that time too.

So I’ve been farming gifts in Kessex Hills, partly because it seems to have decent spawn rates and a fairly natural loop, but mostly because I’m familiar with it because I opened a ton of Halloween doors there. I haven’t looked around much though, has anyone had luck elsewhere? Queensdale didn’t seem to have a ton of presents.

I really need that unbreakable bell…

Wintersday Jumping Puzzle

I am very excited about the new events and jumping puzzle, Halloween was a blast. The one issue many of us had with the excellent and challenging clocktower was the forced group nature of the jumping puzzle. It made a very steep difficulty curve that made it much harder when you were bad at it (stuck in the pack, not able to see where you are going) and it got easier as you were better and could get some fresh air in front of everyone.

Any idea if it will be an option to do this one solo?

System to Combat Leavers in Dungeons

It would be neat to develop a karma system that rewards good behavior with some sort of buff (most likely + magic find). The difficulty would be in finding a fair way to add stacks to the buff, and more importantly, take away the buff.

For example,

-Completing a dungeon with a group could add stacks to the buff, leaving a dungeon half way through could subtract some/all of the buff. I haven’t found leavers to be a huge problem in this game, but it’s a terrible experience when it happens.

-Kicking a player from the party could result in a small deduction or no gain in stacks for that run. This would discourage people swapping in guild mates or kicking newer players that are having a hard time.

December Update: Timeline on the Phases?

I am curious if we have been given any information on how the December update will be released. Many of us will be traveling during the holidays and won’t have access to our home computer, so I hope the events will be weighted towards the middle of the month. The posted timeline right now is just December 15 to to January 3rd, which I see as a good sign. That gives a healthy margin of time before and after the time where most people travel.

Do we have any other information?

How much does this review resonate with you?

He is essentially reviewing it as a person looking for a single player RPG. Guild Wars 2 is not a very good single player RPG. In the same vein, Halo and Super Smash Bros are also not very good single player RPGs. Guild Wars 2 is a great multiplayer RPG. Playing with friends is a blast, playing with strangers is fun too.

He even says that fans of MMORPGs will love Guild Wars 2, and that he doesn’t really like MMORPGs that much. In that regard, I would read his review as him giving the game a 8 or 9 out of 10.

Lost Shores: DC/Bugged Reward Compensation

in Dynamic Events

RuneTalos.6938

Hopefully this is just a problem of bad communication. They did tell us that they are working on a fix to give those of us that were disconnected some sort of reward. That would be pretty brave of them to put something like that down in writing if they don’t plan on following through. It’s not something that anyone that spent hours doing that event will forget.

Confused, when is the new land available?

It’s easy to be upset by how incredibly poorly the 3 day event went in terms of technical execution, but when you step back and think about the permanent features Anet added to the game it was a pretty incredible patch. The new dungeon is really cool, and the new PvP map is probably neat.

Lost Shores Botched

I can’t believe how botched the execution of Lost Shores was. Every day was ruined by technical issues. Bugged events in the first day quest line. Overflow servers being 30 minutes behind the scheduled start time of the event on day 2. Terrible lag and disconnects causing people to get swapped to a different server after hours working on the Ancient Karka event on day 3. The server obviously can’t handle everyone being on at once, so why hold massive one time events?

Token drop rate

Badges are the primary reward for engaging in WvW. The way they work right now is implemented poorly, and is actually more of a distraction then a fun reward system.

The gear is pretty mediocre and ludicrously expensive. It’s really easy to gear up in exotics through PvE or karma purchases. Just the karma you get from WvW would probably gear you up in 4+ exotics before you have the 300 badges you need to get one from the badge vendor. So what’s the point? They could try and make the badge rewards have a neat skin, or eliminate gear rewards entirely and just use badges for WvW upgrades and siege, or they could up the drop rate (and find a way to make it fair for support classes).

It should be one badge, one kill. It should be added automatically to your inventory (or some sort of secondary point counter). Anything else is ridiculous and anti-fun.

I’m not even trying to make a point on how much effort it takes to get gear rewards. They could go ahead and increase the badge cost for equipment, or whatever it takes to balance the game properly. All I want is 1 kill = 1 badge automatically looted.

I've made my peace with the clock tower

The clocktower was awesome, but I probably would have sunk more time into trying to complete it, if I had the option to play it alone. Also VERY frustrating was the wait time between events. Nobody should have to wait in line for a virtual event.

Still, it’s great that they put something so difficult in the game, and it outweighs the few (major) ways they mishandled it’s implementation.
