I’m happy to call myself one of those new members. They’ve really got a great thing going here.

You don’t need to beat him, you just need to visit the dungeon. If you lost power, though, the game might have “forgotten” that you were there? That’s happened to me a few times.

As far as I know, you’ve missed it. Sorry.

Pumpkin carving and the Clocktower achieves don’t count. You need all give of the others to get it.

The people who have everything and don’t have the title is probably a bug, but if you think you have five and you’re counting either of those, that’s why.

1) No, you’re actually level 80. It scales you up for the instance. I’m only level 19, and I went through that dungeon as lvl 80.

2) Why not just find a group? It’s really easy to find one, just post “lfg mk” in the map channel in Lion’s Arch. Trust me, I’m usually terrible at getting in a group (social anxiety) but I’ve already done it a few times.

I’m please to say that in subsequent ventures against the Mad King, the waypoint has been readily accessible. Seems like it was a one time only thing.

I took out all the minions solo and took the king to 75% health (tanked guardan), he then feared me off the platform while my stun remover was on CD .

Yes, I know there’s a waypoint there. But it doesn’t show up on the map. There’s just a blank space there. So you can’t rally.

Yeah, looks like. Like I said, there was clearly a WP there, I just couldn’t see it on the map. I haven’t been back to see if it’s still a problem (gotta run around making storm preparations) — hopefully it was a one-time thing!

I also went in alone, since I’m a newbie who didn’t know better. Naturally, I was slaughtered. XD

Or rather, there IS a waypoint, and I can see it very clearly from my corpse. However, it’s not on the map, which means can’t click on it to rally, which means I’m stuck as a corpse with a giant pumpkin-head standing over me looking bored because he wanted a fight. Anybody else having this problem? (I’m on a Mac; could it be an oversight in the beta?)

Edit: Logging out sends my toon to Lion’s Arch, so I’m not stuck forever. But still, that’s very inconvenient.

Really? Huh. I figured this one out on my first try. It’s my favorite part of the event so far. Needing to remember which supply goes where is part of the puzzle. (Reaper’s Rumble, on the other hand, has me seriously confused.)

I agree with the other posters that it would be really epic to have a replay cinematic option. They’re really well done!

This has happened twice now. What happens is that, after painstakingly designing a character, agonizing over background choices, and choosing the perfect name, the process…. stops. I type in the name, press the final button, and am brought directly to the character log in screen. A screen that does not contain the character I created. It’s just gone, without a trace.

First time was yesterday, on my very first character. I created her, waited for the game to load, and was brought back to a log in screen that still had five empty character slots. It just happened again, this time with my third character (altoholic, lol). Spent over an hour customizing her. You can imagine my distress when I was brought back to the beginning to see that she no longer existed.

Is this a known glitch, and is there a work around? Is something wonky about my computer? Is there a way to retrieve the lost character or to prevent t from happening in the future?

Okay, I found out what happened. Opening cinematic is apparently supposed to occur immediately after character creation. My screen froze at this point the first time around and I had to restart. The character had been saved, but I accessed it from the log in screen and not from the character creation page. Thus, no cut scene.

Is there any way for me to view the cinematic that I should have seen now?

I did end up starting the game — I just couldn’t wait, haha. So far all I’ve done that’s Halloween-y is to carve a pumpkin and get some devil horns. Akamon, you’re right that it’s easy to distinguish between what’s holiday stuff and what’s regular stuff. And thanks for the specifics, mercury. Naturally, I never give credit to nasty, suspicious ghost stories. I’m sure the holiday will go by completely unhindered and that no one will try to spoil it for the innocent children of Tyria.

Hullo. New to GW2, and I just created my first character. Upon selecting “play,” the game showed a loading screen with the name of the starting area and a little spinning loading/buffering widget. I was then brought directly to the playing area, but I thought there was some sort of cinematic? That’s what I’ve seen in a few Youtube videos I’ve watched. Did my game miss something, or are there no longer opening cut scenes? If there is one, is there any way I can go back and see it? My character is an Asura, if that helps.

Edit: I’m on a Macbook Pro running OS X 10.8.2 — just downloaded that last night. Can supply more information if needed.

Hello, everyone! I’m brand new to GW2; in fact, I’m so new I haven’t even downloaded the game client yet. That’s next on my to do list. I have two questions before I begin:

1) In your opinion, should I start playing asap, or should I wait until the Halloween event is over? Usually I really enjoy holiday events, but since this is my first time with GW2, would I get an “atypical” experience since there are Halloween events going on? Will there be too much of a learning curve with extra events on the site? I’m excited to play, but I want to have the best experience possible.

2) The only reason I didn’t buy the game sooner is because I only just learned that Macs are supported now. (You have no idea how excited I was when I stumbled across that information.) However, I have never participated in a beta test before. Are there any experienced beta testers who could offer me some advice as to what to expect and how I best be of service to the designers?
