If anyone so desires just go to MMORPG.com/GW2/Forums and go to the section labeled “First Impressions and Review” and you will see this sentiment is shared ACROSS THE BOARD.
“WvW exists for this sort of thing. sPvP attempts to be “fair” and give everyone access to (mostly) the same stuff. I think it’s a very respectable way to do things.”
By fair it makes pvp for many players lack luster. Some people like to be challenged at different times, and others might want to try different skill sets and builds completely on their own, apart from getting it for free. To me there system kills the excitement of pvp as a whole.
But thats where you learn and grow. As a hardcore pvper I will still group with most people and will help them to learn that green gear for pvp is not a good idea. Theres so many players that the hc pvpers wouldnt be too op, but would be rewarded for having better gear/skills. If pvp isnt about trying to outplay/be stronger then your opponent then it is just button mashing
isnt so seperared*
I just wanted to ask if anyone else enjoys playing in a battleground with differing(5 level differences) levels and gear that you work hard for to make for your build. I know we want to make pvp enjoyable to every average joe out there but is anyone else with me here that it takes away from the excitement of getting gears that rock for your level and using them on other players at the same level? Maybe im the only one here but I am dissapointed with the same level/gear pvp.
I am very new so im still learning how the pvp works in gw2 so please let me know if theres a different pvp battleground zone that is so seperated from your personal equipment/level. Any reasons why you like structured pvp please help me to like it too. Im all ears.
WvW pvp and battlegrounds certainly. Isn’t there a pvp rank rewards system? Joining a guild and pvping, having a group to pvp, or solo pvp is the way to go. I personally play MMO’s strictly for pvp though

According to Wiki condition damage seems like a kind of “spirit” damage that is not mitigated by armor that doesn’t crit. I still don’t get conditions and condition damage though. Im not sure how this stacks/boosts eachother. Some clarification would help. For example if I used a poison and it put a (im guessing here) condition of “poison” would my condition damage apply to every DoT(damage over time) poison “condition”? If not can you help me wrap my mind around this. I’ve played mmo’s before so the more simple the better. Thanks.
Thanks for the replies. @Powerless, In laymens terms to me it sounds like your saying Condition is like DoT+Condition damage. Power is Base Attack+chance of DoT(condition)., going to go over the wiki ty.
When I pvp’d in other games I would always have great gear(the best I could get for my level). I will be playing GW2 soon and will apply this same concept. If your gear is great and your still dieing then you know it’s your skill. I heard Guardians are best pvp with “retaliation”.
Hi there. I am very new still and wondering what condition attack does over the (im assuming) normal power attack damage. I am looking over builds and I see different “condition” and “power” builds. I don’t see much explanation except that “power” builds offer more critical? Please help. I’m so confused.
