I agree that the drop rate should be reduced for most of these boss encounters. The reward is simply too high considering how little effort these world events take. I don’t want them to go back to way they were before either, but I think they can settle on a happy medium between that and what they have now.

It was about time they put in a transfer fee, WvW was a huge mess without one.
It’s a purely subjective matter whether legendaries are a symbol of achievement. I can easily see why someone who spent a great deal of time gathering everything to create a legendary would see it as a symbol of achievement, and I can also see how others think it is not since they are readily available for sale on the trading post. But I feel that in reality, they are more like symbols of wealth, as it takes a great deal of gold to buy one off the trading post or gather all the necessary materials to craft one for yourself.
Either way you go about it, it is a significant gold sink to any player and in this way they play a similar role that Obsidian armor had in GW1 as a status symbol. Not saying this is a bad thing, and in fact, I don’t really mind it at all because legendaries ultimately boil down to being a cosmetic item and nothing more.
A legendary weapon in GW2 is much different to obtain than Obby from GW1. On one hand you could flat out buy all the mats needed to craft Obby so it didn’t prove you were a master of UW and FoW. On the other hand, you could also farm all the mats needed yourself in a reasonable amount of time. The same can not be said for legendaries.
I only said they played a similar role since they are both prestige items that are purely cosmetic and both can be acquired if you are wealthy enough.
It would definitely be a nice addition and I hope that they plan on implementing it in a later update. Even more so considering GW1 had this feature and I found it to be very useful.

So much this. It would be a nice compromise as well with the bounce effect instead of straight AoE damage. Hell, I would be fine if it only damaged a single target, just something similar to the rifle auto attack for warriors would be nice.
I just find it odd that the staff is a 1,200 range weapon for all the other classes that can use it. And this can be applied to the scepter as well which is 900 range for the others and 1,200 for the guardian.
They definitely need to think these updates through before releasing them like this. I always thought spirit weapons were nice, unique utility skills for the Guardian that would eventually be made useful to enough to have a build that could revolve around their usage. Unfortunately, what they’ve done is made them completely useless as well as any traits associated with spirit weapons, which kills off a lot of build diversity and experimentation. I hope they realize that nerfing things into oblivion is not a proper way to balance the game.
I recently crafted Twilight a while back, and have yet to receive the Legendary Treasures account medal for my character. The corresponding Legendary Collector achievement still says 0 Legendary Items as well. Will this be fixed in the future, and will the medal and achievement progress be retroactively rewarded to those who have a legendary already?

This is becoming an extremely annoying problem considering Badges of Honor already have such a low drop rate, this reduces the chances for receiving one even further. Not to mention the jumping puzzle vault door is STILL bugged so I can’t get badges from there anymore either. In this state, WvW is not worth doing for me until these issues are resolved.
I actually think the price is fine as it is. However, I’m definitely of the opinion that the set should at least be exotic. It just seems kind of odd that it isn’t.
