Saladtha (Lv 80 salad sidekick to bears) | Dunelle (Lv 80 eviscerating muppet)
Karmell (Lv 80 human might dispenser) | Vast says hi~.
I’ve found this bug a few times, it’s been around for a while.
It seems to be (and I could be wrong) that if any party members are still in the prior cutscene (after killing the prison warden) while other member(s) have reached the room where the bombs will appear, then Magg will run to the room without having the next event updated. The game trying to deal with overlapping cutscenes could be messing with the events.
Engineer. Because it makes almost no sense at all. Although, an engi chugging elixirs all day does fit right into the Norn moot motif.
Skipping trash won’t be patched, don’t get your hopes up. The optional encounters people are designed to be Able to skip. If you want to do a “full” run, explore the social side of the game, build a regular dungeon group (guild perhaps?) and run with those people.
I’ve portaled people off the jumping puzzle because I don’t like being used =|.
Nope. Siege attacks can only be blocked/destroyed, not reflected. Swirling Winds, Shield of the Avenger, skills of that nature.
I approve of this public service announcement.
There’s nothing wrong with skipping “trash” mobs, provided you aren’t exploiting to do it (jumping walls that aren’t intended to be crossed, etc).
Which is why pve meta is berzerkers max dps
CoF1 does not PvE meta make.
The “meta” still heavily favors max available dps to any other utility spec. CoF p1 or Arah p4, doesn’t matter.
I have fun skipping. Running past inquest technicians requires more thought than fighting them. Why should I have to enjoy the game your way?
I personally think Mini’s should treated as an equipment. A slot on your Hero window where 1 Mini can be equipped, and if it is, it’s out to be seen.
My Mini Eir Stegalkin sits in an invisible bag so I keep from depositing her, but I rarely remember to “use” her everytime I hit a loading screen, etc.
Again, so much use of the word “exploit”. I prefer to think of it as advantageous terrain use and knowledge of enemy AI.
I saw sword/focus and immediately approved. I don’t run my staff in pve, that slot is either gs or scepter/pistol, but the staff is just too useful in pvp/wvw to not have. Try working your sword into attacking a bit more. Even if it’s just leap in, bf, roll out and switch to staff, it’ll speed your kills up significantly in pve.
Feel free to level a Warrior. You’ll find your dungeon life much better in all aspects from that point on. You can’t beat them, might as well join them.
With Empowered Illusions, my clones can crit for EIGHT DAMAGE! I am Mesmer, hear me roar.
Feminine =/= Skimpy. I’d like the designs to be different yet still not overly revealing.
Only a mesmer? Get the nerf hammer ready.
One could say skipping all the mobs in the Jade fractal was more intended than elsewhere. Anet expected people to skip as soon as they could, and placed in a special achievement for having actually killed everything.
It’s my firm belief that these dungeons were designed fully with the notion of skipping possibility intended. As such, until there is reason for not skipping (be it significantly better rewards, or mobs requiring to be killed to progress) I’ll keep skipping.
Low leveled players looking for difficult content before hitting their character level cap are in the vast minority. Your anecdote does not represent the feelings of most of the playerbase, regardless of how much I may agree with you.
The dungeons are particularly buggy though as well, which is very bad for an update hitting the live server that’s so significantly different than the prior. Once they’re ironed out, I’ll love the new engaging AC. Again however, we are not the majority.
Why have stealth if you have to patch things to ignore it completely. Bad idea is bad.
You could’ve had a lot less trouble had you switched to feedback and mirror for the trash spiders in the opening (and perhaps bringing out a weapon other than the greatsword). Other than that, congrats on soloing the spider queen.
Now greatsword vs sword is really signifcant too. Ofcourse the sword does lower damage but if you count in speed and mobility it can out do a greatsword pretty quickly.
What do you guys think? Am I the only who thinks great-sword is pretty weak atm
Ranger greatsword is terribly weak. Even with the “buffs” to Maul and Swoop, the damage output is poor at best. Hit for hit, single hand sword hits harder with a significantly higher attack rate. If it weren’t for the rooting on sword mainhand, I’d never have even thought about using anything else.
How is it amoral or unethical? They have a service to provide, the buyers have gold. Seems pretty much standard business model to me.
Rangers are already easymode in open world pve. Making the pet able to dodge on its own keying only helps where pets actually risk death.
I would still rather the option for my Ranger to be pet less. But since that isn’t gonna happen, a separate dodge is next best. There would need to be a direct indicator of the pet’s endurance and boons on the Ranger’s GUI.
Except pure dps anything works for all dungeons as they currently stand.
It would be nice if I could get any skin. I have a char capable of every weapon type, but they just don’t roll for me.
It’s noobish to run full berserker gear without getting any toughness AND accept only warriors.
Why would they get toughness if they can survive without it? Also they don’t accept only warriors, there is one mesmer in the team!
You’re talking about farming runs. Elitist speedrunners do not even accept cof gear, they ask specifically for berserker’s.
Most cof gear is berserker.
They “survive” without it. Have played with Berserkers. Sitting on the floor downed does not count for damage. Of course CoF is the easiest dungeon at this point. It’s going to be upped in difficulty though.
A berserker warrior downed will still throw rocks for 2k+ crits at a higher attack rate than most ranged weapons. I wish my ranger’s longbow and shortbow had the output of a downed warrior.
To each their own as opinions go, but if someone wants to go straight to the boss, then why design trash there in the first place? Why not just put an Asura Gate that takes you straight to the boss and get it over with … that’s how I see it.
Skipping mobs (safely without abandoning your team) isn’t always a mindless task. Rooting, pulls, cripples, stealths, blocks, and other measures are needed in quite a few places to actually get past the mobs. Skipping in and of itself is the reward for being able to do it. If you understand your mobility well enough, the capabilities of the rest of your party, and the mobs you’re passing, then your reward is not having to time sink by killing them.
My advice to anyone using Divinity Runes is to take Orbs of the direction their normal combat preference is. If you’re a damage build, Ruby Orbs will give you more of the stats you need than Divinity Runes, at the cost of stats will are mostly worthless to your build. Having minor toughness, vitality, and especially healing power, are wasted on a glass cannon (for example, works in inverse for tank builds, etc).
The reason you choose a Rune set over Orbs is if your build can benefit from the 2/4/6 effects and have a stat you feel you’re lacking.
I would like an option to permanently stow my ranger’s pet regardless of combat situation, until I tell it to appear again. I will gladly forfeit my Function-key bar abilities to not be screwed over with a pet causing things that shouldn’t happen.
How about, do not run into the big orange circle until Detha is no longer aggroed on mobs.
There’s a wide open area to the right when you exit the oozes’ room with plenty of room to run away and reset her AI. When she stops trying to be Sonic and sprint to the nearest ooze or graveling, you can then enter the big orange circle to trigger the event.
It’s not any more subpar than the other options Ranger has (pve), let’s put it that way.
You can already buy cultural Weapons of any race, just not the armor.
That aside, I do agree it’s a bit odd that they’re dropping as Wolfborn skins. Seems more laziness than anything from my view.
Hey, thanks for the idea. My guild runs things with less than full parties just for the sake of trying. Now we can turn that into additional profit.
