Brand new fully upgraded 2015 iMac:
• 4.0GHz quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 4.2GHz
• 32GB 1867MHz DDR3 SDRAM – four 8GB
• 1TB Flash Storage
• AMD Radeon R9 M395X with 4GB video memory
Game crashes more often than on my basic 2010 iMac with equivalent settings.
ANet should be ashamed, the quality of their Mac client is appalling and false advertising. HoT broke the game and isn’t worth playing at all in it’s current state.
So they’ve merged the Game Crashing posts, but still couldn’t be bothered to take 5 seconds to post on here acknowledging it? Brilliant support guys -_-
No motivation to try playing anymore.
Seriously, still no response on the hundreds of posts about the game constantly crashing for players? Pathetic and unacceptable.
Most of my crashes since HoT have come with the message saying the crash would be reported to GW2. Is there anything in the reports your posting that wouldn’t be captured in whatever the GW2 team gets that would benefit them?
The crashing is so constant I couldn’t imagine coming here to post the details each time :S
Crashing constantly since HoT, to say nothing of last nights patch.
Imo they should ignore working on anything else until they fix the crashing problem for EVERYONE. 32bit, 64bit, and mac client. This is absurd.
Same, 3 years of relatively smooth Mac game play, and now this. Some acknowledgement they’re working on it would be nice….
It’s constant for me as well, yet the game has run smoothly on my Mac for 3 years. Sometimes I’d crash at the Vinewreath boss after they introduced that, but it’s nothing compared to the constant crashing of HoT. Game crashes without warning anytime between 10-45 minutes of play time. They made all the new HoT maps rely on long event chains as the method of gaining mastery XP. I can’t finish any event chain fully to get credit and move on, so what’s the point until they fix it.
Nope, they don’t care or they could have taken 5 minutes to post some replies on the forums saying it’s being worked on.
Can we please get some acknowledgement of the constant crashes?? HoT has been out for a few weeks now, so you can’t say you don’t know about them. Many people still reporting issues with the 64bit client, and Mac users don’t even have that option. You took our money and sold this as a functioning product, the least you could do is give a response with some kind of indication it’s been worked on.
At this point I’m tempted to drop the game until you fix this.
I’m having the same problem as you, except my complete crashes have become WAY more prevalent within the last week or so.
Before, the game would crash every now and then randomly, but it wasn’t a huge issue. Maybe once or twice a day.
Got my new iMac 5K, and the game crashes every 20 minutes now.
No error message or anything, just closes and goes back to desktop.
Tried the troubleshooting steps as well, made no difference.
Just got my new iMac 5K, but the game crashes non stop. I can’t even complete a Silverwastes breach because the game will just close and exit back to desktop. No error message or anything.
Beofre upgrading computers I did notice recently that on my old 2011 iMac the game did this a couple times during the Vinewrath boss only, but now after having my new iMac for a couple days the game is almost unplayable with how often it crashes.
Has anyone else using Mac had this problem/ know of a fix?
Just got my iMac 5k, and the game crashes about every 10 minutes when I try to play. Anyone else have this issue?
I still crash almost 50% of the time during the Vinewrath boss. Only this boss fight seems to do it for me for some reason
There’s a bug where the human females left ankle is flattened and warped while using this costume. Kind of like the hoof part is pulling the whole foot to the side causing the ankle to stretch oddly.
The right ankle looks normal, so it’s easy to compare when you see them side by side on your character.
You can clearly see it in the gem store preview panel, so I’m surprised this is being released this way.
I purchased the two new unlimited gathering tools released and I’ve noticed two things:
Harvesting minion: When you begin the animation to harvest, your character drops down to their knees and a Glyphic Handblade [&AgF7iwAA] dagger appears in your hand while gathering, and then disappears.
Logging Minion: When you begin the animation to gather wood, what looks like the Consortium Harvesting Sickle appears in the air and spins around right where the tree is/above where the logging minion appears. I find this strange as the spinning sickle then continues to clip repeatedly into the minions head while it chomps away and does it’s thing.
I’m hoping both are bugs that will be fixed, they make no sense this way.
Was I the only one who bought them? lol
I bought the new minion gathering tools for my Necro and I’ve noticed they have some animation bugs.
Harvesting minion: When you crouch down to gather, a Glyphic Handblade [&AgF7iwAA] displays in your hand and then disappears. This happens regardless of what weapon your character is wielding at the time.

Maybe both of these things are intended, but they don’t make much sense to me. Hopefully they’ll look into fixing these. Seems a bit silly to have such obvious bugs/poor animations for items that cost more than $10 each…
I appreciate the input from Crudelis, but I have to say it doesn’t really apply in this situation. I’ve been playing GW2 since February and NEVER encountered anything like this before.
I don’t WvW, so that’s not an issue. And I’ve never had a problem with world bosses before.
Also, I didn’t change anything in my settings, or on my computer to have it go from playing perfectly Saturday, and then not being playable at all Sunday. There has to be more to it than that I’m afraid.
Only had an issue with skill lag a few times before, and they were very short instances that came and went. Yesterday the game was unplayable for me.
Unpopulated maps would leave me with skill lag of a minute+. I could move around the map fine, but the skills would just keep flashing.
Tried doing numerous world boss events and wouldn’t get credit because the boss would die before a single attack activated. Got kicked back to character selection screen about 6x during the day before I gave up.
A quick browsing of the forums shows this is a recent problem for a lot of players. I have never had this issue before, wondering what caused such a drastic change. Something to acknowledged the sudden change would be appreciated.
