Arena Net try so hard to make everything balanced that they make nothing, skill wise, impressive or desirable. Instead of every skill being amazing, every skill is dull at best.
Think League Of Legends etc.
I think this mode would work extremely well.
I really don’t think anything should be Soulbound / Accountbound. Not Legendarie’s, not mystics, not gemstore items and not Karma items. Nothing!
Why? Because if someone wants to take the time to go out of their way to collect the items required why in the world should they not be able to sell it? Sell if for the cost of materials, plus the time that it took to get them and add on-top of that the convenience for the buyer.
It just doesn’t make sense that we cannot sell / trade / giveaway items that another player needs or wants to buy with hard earned gold.
Oh and don’t get me started on the lack of possible profit from Crafting…. there is just no definite way to make money in this game except selling everything to NPC Merchants.
You say its a Staple MMO aspect , Anet doesnt want to be just another MMO they are thinking outside of the box and dont want Trading in this game.
Arena Net need to not focus so much on making Gw2 as different as possible. There are so many aspects of this game that make it stand out and above every other MMO out there but using successful mechanics from MMO’s shouldn’t be out of the question, they aren’t trying to make a brand kitten new Genre of gamekitten It has to be an MMO like no other, which is a fine goal. What I don’t think they realize is that it can be like no other while still using tried and true mechanics.
Anyway, a P2P Trading system is needed in the near future, or a COD as mentioned earlier. Anyone that states otherwise is arguing for the sake of kitten arguing as having a trade system would not be a negative in any way, shape or form to any part of the game.

With that sort of thinking I’m assuming you like being able to say you’ll pay for something without having to send the money back right?
A Player-to-Player Trade system is needed so that the Trade can be viewed by both parties, the item is ‘on the table’ so to speak and the money is also. If one wishes to pull out, they can and the deal is off.
The Mail system is kitteny at best, you have to trust people, usually complete strangers, that they will send you what you asked for in exchange. And as much as we would all like to think that everyone is trust worthy and will do it the fact is this isn’t face-to-face and your never going to see them again and most people are just scumbags.
I cannot overstate how much a Player-To-Player Trade System is needed. Even if it were just an expansion on the Mail System, not necessarily face to face.
This would be truly amazing!
Certainly put something like this in, even, although probably difficult, a Role Playing chat filter so we can RP anywhere and everywhere! If only that were possible…

Now I’m talking about the Personal Story characters that get recruited throughout your personal story, from the one you chose as your sparring partner (Maverick in my case) to every single Charr that joins you!
They deal almost 0 damage to any enemy, not even generic ghosts, and go down with in seconds of entering melee range, even in Maverick(a warrior)’s case?
Then again this seems to suit the majority of the game and Arena Nets idea of making nothing useful so that no single part of the game is more desirable than any other part.

Every character that joins my war-band seems to be immediatelykitten weak, as in, deal little to no damage and go down the moment they get hit once or twice. And this is versus generic ghosts….. Why would i want them as nothing more than a one hit wonder meat shield later on in the game?
None of the music, although amazing, seems to suit combat at all… really throws me off when I see a Champion go down and its just followed by silence…
Is it just me or does this game involve no strategy other than running back to the boss everytime you die?

Its bloody stupid is what it is! I’ve really only done the Fire Elemental ‘boss’ fight but the lack of interesting mechanics is really disappointing! All the boss does is stand(?) there as a swirling fire spamming Embers that in turn spam Dragon’s Teeth. All any amount of players can do is run in, damage, die, respawn; rinse and repeat!
This is one very near game breaking problem for me.

I don’t think this is bad idea. I mean, Snaff invented a machine, or rather re-worked his Golem Controller, that was capable of getting him into an Elder Dragon’s mind to the point that he almost controlled Kralkatorrik. A lesser Asura could easily create such a machine to sever the Elder Dragons connection to the creature and allow taming.

Lich Form is now an Elite Skill just so you know lol.
Also, the Necromancer needs a heap of work done to it, sure, they are fun, but the so called ‘Undead Minions’ are rather lack luster when the Necro is meant to be all about dealing with Death.
Have you seen how fast Rangers loose those things? They’d need to be insanely cheap for a hundred/s size stack of them and wouldn’t really add much to the game other than having to visit a random NPC merchant (seeing as making them just wouldn’t be valuable to players).
Now, how about cool Quivers? A secondary item when using a bow, the Quiver could add affects to your arrows…
More weapon variety would be awesome, why not start with Whips. In the case of Necromancer, being all dark and gloomy, a whip whose skill set really focus on ‘punishing’ the enemy and keeping the many (actually, very few, very lame) minions in line!

Especially Underwater! I cannot express in words my love for popping an Elixer U with the Grenade Kit! Auto-Target mega-spam! XD
On to the post though, really like the concept of it. Doesn’t change anything balance wise and is certainly so much more satisfying to see and use!
Cosmetic, would be awesome if purchasable in Gem Store!
Perhaps add even more dances / animations to the character that we can pick and choose for when we type in an animation command?
YES! Loved it! Especially in PvP and Wv3 when it comes to setting up traits before a match.
Would love it so much if I could just swap between my Minion Master and Well Control builds.. XD
I really like this idea. The start of the game can be a bit slow and boring once you’ve unlocked all Weapon Skills, Utility Slots and Traits.
My highest character is 25 because I have a tough time, in any game, deciding what class I want to play. Lets say, that once you hit 30, the point that you have everything unlocked, you can start a new character at this level. That way Lvl 1 – 30 is like a tutorial, get to know the game etc. It’s optional of course and you still suffer de-levelling but you have the skills and opportunity to really see what a class is about.

O.o A sniper kit would be absolutely amazing!
It’d open the way for an Elite pehaps; Sniper Team. Similar to Warband Support for the Charr but calls for a Sniper Team that spawn immediately Entrenched?
