If ANet nerf the ele like the last time, I will need to play it!
Why?
In the past patch where they tried to nerf it making it chose between evasive arcane and the attunement that give boons, they cried so much that devs makes one of them not only aviable in another tier of the traitline, they made it a Minor Trait always aviable when you chose the arcane traitline!
That’s a nerf guys, that’s a nerf!And they nerfed the damage ability of the eles giving them the fire traitline that only give them the chance to stack insanely burn, obtain a insane amount of might, blind every 5 seconds, obtain fire auras, increase the damage with +150 power in a minor trait and 10 + 10% of damage on a burned enemy and when attuned on fire. or theu can chose to obtain a neverending firefield that inflict a insane amount of burn and fury every time they blast it.

i usually kill burn guards without condi removal (No insp) on carrion pu condi cancer mesmer…just saying, if you can dodge and wait for guard to blow contemplation and condispike him right after he’s basically done

Vampirism is on a completely different level – other runes usually give a couple of boons, boon duration, minor effects (like radiation field), or passive effects (+5% dmg, -20% condi duration). Some of these are powerful, but not gamebreaking.
Then you have a rune which essentially passively saves you from a coordinated burst, or carries you if you seriously misplay.
Some professions have similar GM traits, like Defy Pain for warrior – but those professions were designed with that in mind (not a good design, but it was taken to consideration), and even those GM traits aren’t this powerful. Giving immunity away so freely is horrible, power specs barely need to make any sacrifices for it.
How do you compare +20% might duration or +5% damage to multiple seconds of godmode which often saves you from lethal damage and allows you to overcommit to stomps or resses because the channeling won’t even get interrupted?
When there is a single rune which is capable of carrying a player just by being equipeed, there are problems.

it basically almost always negates first burst from thieves since they don’t have stab or condi immunity on engage
passive procs are overall bad for the game anyway…all of them, vamp are just worse cause they can carry all those already broken dd eles (Along with pretty much all dps specs…but unlike eles thieves and mesmers are not bunkers at least and they eventually gonna die and can’t just refull and come back in 3 secs like dd) but other passives are not dat better too
the more passive crap the less personal skill involved

So, I can’t go into much detail on things quite yet, but I just wanted to reassure you folks that we’re actively discussing a number of issues that are affecting balance in PvP – including, but not limited to elementalist sustain/damage. Per the usual, we’ll be talking to you folks about the changes once we’ve finalized them.

Same value, burning can stack but at least we have a cap in pvp.
Considering 3 stacks with a condi build (and celestial with high might) is always a really good damage (850+).
In this way you shave ele dd cele damage and some other condi builds who can stack a ridiculous burning quantity in a short time.
You can modify the burning duration in relation to this tweak

when you enter a match and look at the other team only to see 2+ eles vs your 0-1 ele, every match i have like this requires extreme effort and communication vs no communication to win a close game or just flat out lose.

Yes, there is an issue with eles… Yes, there is an issue with class stacked teams… But don’t take it out on your teams by refusing to do anything. You just end up being the problem, and in my opinion a larger problem then eles them selves. At least if you fight, you give your team a chance to win.
The issue is more the refusal of ANET to do their job and actually balance broken items in game. Until they start balancing, this type of thread and in game activity will happen more frequently.
Then those people should just stop playing. And dont blame a person being a poor sport on Anet.
Doesn’t change the fact that ANET is largely at fault here. The balance team is a disgrace. It has taken them over 2 months to fix items that were clearly broken. Embarrassing.

What did you have in mind?
Place a battle standard that revives fallen allies and grants fury, might, and swiftness to allies. Your revival mileage will vary, depending on conditions, incoming damage, death penalty, and other mechanics. Past health is no guarantee of future revivals.
Something like Place a battle standard that grants fury, might, and swiftness to allies and heals downed allies for 100% of their downed hp (This way sounds obvious than with poison healing reduction it won’t heal them enough to refull and res)

Henry i guess that “For you” you mean anet…everyone already knew eles were going to be broken as soon as ppl looked at celestial amulet’s new stats, i remember we were reading patch notes while on ts and an ele main friend just said “Oh yeah eles running this kitten are gonna be godmode”

What about the Overpowered interaction of stack 4 eles?
I believe 4 class stacking is against ESL rules. As for the elementalist itself, we’re looking into it.
With proper balance no comp should be viable on any level if stacking 4 ppl running same exact spec…not even same class….let alone actually being able to win an ESL with dat
But now after 1 year you’re finally looking into celestial eles…well still better than nothing i guess…

Timing your condi remove is too hard for you. I get it.
Pls teach me how to time condi remove against a skill with zero cooldown and miserable ini cost, oh wise one.
You know when your Banner will hit the ground and attempt to rez right? Since your shouts have no cast time (vs applying poison does), you can instantly press your shout to remove the poison right before your banner lands. And since you know exactly when your banner will land, I guarantee your timing of the instant cleanse is far better than the random poison spam.
Consider that if someone in teamfight is downed that means i’m obviously already out of cds…otherwise he wouldn’t be dead maybe, anyway people with half brain are pretty used to already have stability up when someone on other team goes down so fear is not gonna work 90% of the times, being able to interrupt cleave and stomps with just a “fear me” will never happen vs any half decent team
just simple straightforward logic…..

they need to do smaller tweaks to balance more often…not these large patches that break everything.
2 months? …celestial eles had been broken since 1 year ago roflmao and they even buffed them after nerfing the other 2 top tier celestial specs (Shout and celestial engi)

finishers will be fine once they removed fields…they will still be able to stack might but not while 1v1ing
removing finishers instead would hurt eles even more, fire fields to blast are pretty common in teamfight and they should have a way to use them i guess (Even if i would like to see ez mode dd eles finally out of pvp forever it won’t be fair in the grand scheme of things)

they chase you down and kill you
they survive 2v1at least pre nerfed warriors can still be easily put down.
3v1 them…get 9 ppl in your team and you gonna be fine vs double ele

If they fix grenade barrage they should also fix warrior rampage, mesmer stealth instagibs, guard burn bombs, etc.
Atm that bug is the only thing zerk engi has aside from a slow to set up elixir build.
It is one skill, every 30 seconds.
It has a cast time, it can be blocked, it can be dodged.
If it misses the engi melts.If they take away 100nades, but fail to adress the other overpowered damage specs engi will drop out of pvp. Traits are already all over the place, and builds that normally would have been viable in the previous meta won’t cut it now.
Fights no longer take 1 minute.
They take mere seconds.
barrage is the only thing engi has to compete in this burst meta.
I am not saying it isnt bugged, it is obvious that it is.
But it’s the only thing they have to match the instant burstpower of other classes.

I invite all of you to do the same…just try to force them to play something that requires a bit more than 1kb and 1 immobilize or 1 pull, wanna go cheese? Then you go 4v5…np for me i don’t give a single kitten to soloq anyway i actually found teamates supporting me and going afk too just to make cheap nab engis lose…this is a team game, in soloq i can’t chose my mates but i can still chose to not support those who just abuse anet’s MISTAKES…always hoping to get them in tque too with no skyhammer just to roflstomp them all day long.

I run sort of a hybrid condition build I made myself, but I’m looking for something that can hit very hard and deal with most threats. I use staff and sceptor/pistol with 0/5/3/3/3 traits
I know this one particular condition mesmer that is one of the best pvp players I’ve seen yet, when he defends a point, he was easily dancing around 3v1 with his mesmer no problem. He looks more competitively into builds and Ikinda wanna do the same, any advice on a good build?

Too many of you nerds never played sports competitively so you have no clue what makes some people click in a competitive environment. If someone walked up to you in rl and knocked you on your butt you wouldn’t know how to react to it. Probably beg for mercy I’m thinking. A competitive person would pick themselves up and proceed to kick some butt. In a perfect world non-competitive people wouldn’t compete in things that are meant to be competitive. You just end up ruining for it there people that want to win when its a team environment. This game does a horrible job of setting a clear line of what should be really competitve and what should be casual do whatever the heck you want.
^ problem is that in rl competitions for personal experience you can luckily still send ppl home if they’re ruining your team, here you just get them over and over again and can’t really do kitten about it..you can’t even tell them how much they suck cause “qq anet mommy toxic community stuff…”
Wanna ply for fun? Stick to hj where noone cares bout winning….if you go into rated tournaments you MUST play for win otherwise you’re just ruining other ppl’s matches..

Yeah i was talking about average pve hero going tournament and losing a lot, i actually have to just go tpvp with no hj and stuff just to keep low rank on second account (Already kittening 30+ -.-) in order to troll all those 55+ (Ehmm 80…) thinking to be gods just because anet gave them all those ranks for free on 15th april…r80 thieves not able to kill a r30 shatter mesmer and then complaining about some sort of hack is pretty hilarious…
