Plenty of professions are capable of reaching 1 million damage dealt during a match. You would also have had to have been overall ignoring the objective and/or been lucky with enemies assaulting the same objective you find yourself at throughout the match (multiple of them for cleaves and AoE), in order to reach that overall damage. But yes, it’s not uncommon, and I’d say it’s pretty normal in GW2 sPvP. Not sure why you put a picture of your Dragonhunter in there btw.—or what you intend to achieve with the topic at all. Aye it is very easy actually, but Revenant isnt even in what I would call the highest tier for PvP, that is reserved to the Auramancer and The Dragon hunter

I don’t know how I feel about DH yet, it’s a very calm playstyle. DH is extremely efficient if you arrive to a point first, however lacks utility once traps have been triggered. However that is my own opinion formulated directly from playing one. I wouldn’t give them top tier though. Auramancer though, I could agree with that.

Allow me to add to this topic in terms of UA…

You are not immune to all damage, Conditions go through all evade style skills, thus if you have active conditions or appear near a enemy with condition based traps are on the ground you will take damage.

The CD is rather long, and on top of that far from my favorite skill. It is a last ditch effort to stay alive in my book(Assuming I have no active conditions).

In fact I personally stay away from using sword until I absolutely have to, and by the screenshots from above I fare just fine.

I am torn on tossing my build on the forums right now as I do feel it gives me a slight edge in PvP, but as the creator I believe I hold this right. I will think it over some more, but I will possibly share it.

Just woke up, I’ll toss those builds online soon.

As for Hammer #2, without it the entire hammer tree would be worthless, all the other skills seriously lack in damage, strange to hear that, but it’s very true. Cast time / damage per hit they lack a lot. Almost all Hammer skills are dodge / walk out cast times.

My current favorite build revolves around:
Deva – Invo – Herald; Sword, Shield(or sword depending on my mood) / Hammer; Glint / Demon

Why demon you may ask? It has a skill line up which rolls right off the fingers when stacked with glint.
Once you have been forced to blow your facets due to energy and/or skill advances switching to demon not only can you get a damage buff from the elite, but you can also become immune to Conditions. So while your Glint heal is down, not only do you have a normal heal, one not based off damage taken or given but just a heal. With Hammer / Sword you also have access to two evade skills, i.e #3’s. Take advantage of those, it will keep you a live.

All in all from my experience, running Hammer requires pre-planning due to the DPH scenario. You have to corner your enemy and lock them down before you can truly drop the hammer.

Also this post is mostly for commentary between other Revs and how they feel about their PvP experiences.

Depends, I created many different variations for different reasons.
I’ll put a few builds online so people can get a rough reference, however if this is about average stats for most Reverants perhaps I’m just a bit ahead of myself.

Nightfury – Ascended shoulders graphical bug – Reverant

1. Equip Nightfury
2. Go into combat
3. Notice after using skills that ‘evade’ the bat graphics vanish.

Should be: Bat graphics stay with character even when engaging into combat.

Actual: Bat graphics leave character(Reverant) once in combat after a period of time.

Considering you have to unlock all previous specs before touching your Elite, 250 is a godsend, granted still annoyed we have to unlock all the specs to touch the elite.

I pretty much main in Glint, Sword/Shield + Hammer.
Hammer #3 Evades as well, Shield tanks the damage while I block all in coming damage.

I don’t die as easily as you might think. Also as weird as this may sound, when using the assassin traits (#3 skill) with the sword I mainly use that as a evade, damage is just a bonus.
Previously I was running Axe, but the shadow step wasn’t worth it, thus I swapped back to Shield.

You use sword 3 as evade!?! You should be using sword 3 as your main source of burst. If you time it and line it up correctly, it will nearly one shot nearly anyone who is glass unless they get lucky with defensive procs. It will at the very least put them on the back foot while you finish them.

I don’t think the axe shadow step is working properly seems to bug out a lot. I have to admit I haven’t really messed with hammer much since early betas, I might give it a go tonight but I will really miss the utility of my staff.

I know that, and I still aim to achieve the burst from it, but I do not run Shiro unless forced to. It is a personal preference.
Hammer allows me to cast from afar which I am use to with my Mesmer. Generally I don’t allow people to get close enough to me while using Hammer to have to use my Shiro setup.

I imagine that your fights were mostly 1v1 or alongside team-mates? Do you escape with the Assassin’s Super Speed (Shiro’s Impossible Odds) if you get stuck in 2v1, or do you stay on the point and bunker up in spite of being outnumbered?

PS: what equipment are you using?

I usually run matches with one friend, we run matches from morning till night for the most part(for the past few days). Gave us a ton of time to really get down and learn the new spec’s and classes.

For escaping I actually use Glint, the #8 applies speed to the character, then I chain that skill (#8 again if in order originally given) which drops a on-going aoe. If they still follow me from there I will switch to Shiro traits then.

Your build is actually also a standard PVE build – it’s what I plan to use when I fully unlock Herald. Very strong and versatile DPS build.

May I ask how you fair against conditions in sPVP? Conditions aren’t very common in PVE, but I imagine you’d have trouble against condition builds without support from allies.

Ah thank you, yeah not to familiar with GW2 stuff these days. Just came back after a 3 years break if you want to call it that.
Well, for conditions I generally allow myself to drop to 20% hp then I use Glints #6, the heal skill(I let this actively run in certain fights, then I pop the chained skill to it) which takes damage and turns it into heals.
Outside of that I use the assassin legend heal and combo it with the #3 for swords which then heals as well, plus evades incoming attacks, from that point I bunker with the shield.

For the most part 1v1 wise I rarely go down, and in team fights this build really pushes groups back.

So with this build I have had the ability to hit the upwards of 800k in a full PvP match in multiple occasions. (I will toss those screen shots later on)
It provide support, boons and survival/sustain.

It is a very mobile play style and requires active upkeep with your chain skills.

Call your card issuing company, they may have a hold on your card.
If they don’t try to purchase it at a retailer.

Check list:
C++ Visuals updated / installed
Drivers for:
- GPU
- CPU
- Audio Card
- Any other misc drivers that may need updating.

Make sure you update windows assuming you are using it to assure maximum compatibility.

If that fails let me know.

9 times out of 10 it is the GPU as stated above however.

If there is a cache folder I suggest clearing it.

You are being throttled at certain file points due to the massive amount of players also downloading with you.
This is figured due to your current internet speed, what ever it may be and then the connection to Anet servers for the download.

You will eventually receive faster speeds, however if you don’t I highly suggest you reset your router and/or ipconfig/release, ipconfig/renew.

I bought gems 4 months ago fine so the card is working.

Anyone have a work around this? I dont want to wait for a ticket response since it usually never helps.

Mastercard is having issues, server wise.
I suggest a method without using the card directly, I.E bank transfer, paypal etc.
Or go into a store and get the key from a retailer.

Its kinda the reason why i replied to support that im not gonna wait 3 weeks for this issue to be fixed. I give it a couple. 2 maybe 3, then they got one less customer who will ever spend a dime anything associated with anet or ncsoft.

I completely agree, and that is exactly what a handful of people will do.

Not to mention this will go down as one of the larger failure launches of this year, 2015. That is assuming they continue to not respond to the player base having issues regarding purchase, not just in-game issues.

Crash out of the mission?
Quit out of the mission? Also how did you quit out if so?
Lock up from no cutscene playing?
Fully patch client or still streaming?

Can we perhaps outline some of the more critical issues?
Or can you have someone of power at least respond to the issue at hand with users paying for the HoT content and then a critical error causing the account to be placed back into the Original GW2 game, instead of opening the HoT content…

Wasted money, unsatisfied customers in the account section which is far worse than having the content but not being able to play it, at least we’d know we will eventually get to it.

We won’t get a answer for a long while, they are insanely busy with other in-game critical bugs.
Just sucks that this one has no public coverage considering it’s a huge issue.

This is happening to a ton of people.
What I believe happened is the previous serials were lost in the data merge. Thus the keys we used are no longer valid and we have been stiffed out of our money by Anet for now.

I can not say I am a happy player about this and they have not taken this publicly yet which is even more upsetting.

I bought HoT, made my account upgrade to HoT.
Now it is no longer HoT upgraded and back to basic GW2.

This is a huge oversight and I haven’t received a response yet to my ticket. I’d like to publicly see what is going on, this is happening to a TON of people!

Exactly the same issue, I’m super annoyed.
Considering this is my field of business and I work a large studio I do not take lightly to this oversight.
