Guild Leader of OHM
Couldn’t we skip the need for a level 1-15 area by just making the race require the expansion it comes out in and at least a level 80 character on your account? Then you could make the new race a level 80 in a level 80 area. Kind of like how each race’s story is dependent on their race and how some things are hidden to specific professions we could have the race develop the new maps that appear in an expansion.
Then we can see it through the eyes of someone who lives there and someone who is going there for the first time.
A native could see tracks and have a “These tracks belong to [animal name]. I need to be mindful of its [special feature]” while someone else would have the insight of “What could have made these tracks?”
Just a thought.
Guild Leader of OHM
Hello everyone.
I’m Sekunri of the NA guild OHM (or O the Huge Manatee) which runs the Shatterer world boss event with the intention of achieving the Smash the Dragon achievement every run and we have a fairly high success rate.
Recently both our regular event participants and our new recruits have urged us to make a public statement about our schedule so here it is.
Official OHM Shatterer Schedule
- Mon – Fri at 9 pm UTC-4
Squads are up in LFG under World Bosses 30 minutes prior to the event starting
While this is our official schedule we’ll announce any changes to our schedule at the previous scheduled event.
We also run the Chak Gerent twice a week if you’re interested in learning about that.
A Brief Description of OHM
OHM is a PvX guild founded in October of 2013 by 7 players and is now a guild of 100+ players but due to our population not being concentrated in a single server we’re not too active in WvW.
We started doing the Shatterer in October 2016 and have managed to achieve Smash the Dragon with about an 80% success rate. We also added the Chak Gerent to our events late November.
If you have any question about OHM or our current events or planned future events feel free to message me in game I’ll be happy to answer.
All are welcome at our events and we look forward to helping you get the achievements you need. See you there.

- WvW: Casual. We will take part from time to time and sometimes try to organize but we haven’t done anything major yet.
Times Active: All week.
Peak Hours: 9PM – 3 AM EST at the current time.
The guild was founded in October of 2013 as a guild primarily for friends. For 3 years we’ve stayed primarily to ourselves, taking part in events run by larger guilds and taking command of events that lacked leadership when it was needed. Despite our small size we were able to reach Guild Level 35 without heavy involvement or use of gems.
WHY ARE YOU RECRUITING IF YOU STAYED TO YOURSELF?
We’ve talked about recruiting new players and just getting to know new people. Typically we’d welcome anybody that was willing to join us if we had a good experience with them but either due to our small size, times we were active, or real world factors we have lost the friends we made along the road. This, however marks the first time we’re posting on the forums actively looking on the forums for new members because the guild has changed due to the needs of the player base in our time frame.
CHANGED? HOW?
It all started September 29th. There was no one doing the Shatterer event and we just wanted to do the world boss so I, the Guild Leader, made a squad and put it in LFG. After the successful event we were asked if we did this often. This was our first time so we, the guild, talked among ourselves quickly and decided that we would.
Since then 6 months later we have successfully managed to achieve the Smash the Dragon achievement about 95% of the time. I found that on the Guild Wars 2 reddit some players are upset about not managing to get this achievement so I thought instead of just letting those that happen across us by chance know we’re doing this, we should let others know.
While we started as a 8 member guild we are currently at 215 and we hope to see that keep growing. With more active members within the guild I believe it’ll give us more incentive to do both private and public events in the future.
Ideally I would also like every member in the guild to feel like they matter and are taken into consideration within the guild as we see the guild as not just a collection of players but an extension of our gaming family.

More potentially coming in the future
We ask that:
1. Be nice to everyone in the guild.
2. Represent us during events at the bare minimum.
We think it would great if:
1. We started seeing all our new members organizing in other ways, like doing dungeons, fractals, map events, PvP or WvW together. Its a chance to make new friends.
2. World Boss event decorations earned in our events were donated to us.

Best thing to do may be ask in map chat honestly. LFG never feels that effective outside of world bosses to me.

So I realize this is beating a dead horse at this point but I feel its important to bring up. Since the game’s launch Detha Tremblebones has been a bit of an underachiever among her fellow Priory members. In Ascalonian Catacombs she leads you down Path 2 to defeat the Ghost Eater except when you get to the final room she suddenly chickens out and does nothing to start the Ghost Eater event.
This has been the case for four years. I believe its time she’s whipped into shape or let go for someone more capable.
